Seth Knight over Erik Hayes, Tim Alfonzo & Dell Tucker in Fatal Fourway

-Randy comes out and challenges Seth -Tatt 2 comes and joins match- "Rockin" Randy over Tatt2 & Seth Knight

"The Posse" [Simon/Chris] over "Blackout Squad" [Oz/Bishop] -BOS stole tag titles last week, they came out when a suitcase with a lock on it and said that all they want is another shot and if The Posse can beat them then they will give them the key and they can have their titles back. When The Posse opened the bag the titles weren't in there and BOS jump them from behind, nailed them with a chair and left them laying.

Psycho over Shannon Lee -Tucker came out afterwards and challenged Psycho to a match next week-

Stan Lee over Chris Lexx

"The Golden Boy" Greg Anthony/Flash Flanagan over Derrik King/Chris O'Neal Chris went for powerbomb on tgb when Flash clotheslined Chris and tgb rolled chris up.

----I was told only 3 seats were empty and that would be around 110 in the building with a gate close to $600. I am happy to see them continuing to draw in the normal range...At the start of the show, Derrick King [babyface here] said he wanted Dustin Starr tonight. Flash Flanagan [heel here] comes out and says Dustin isn't here and he can fight him. They trade punches when TGB comes and attacks DK from behind. Chris O'Neal makes the save. Jeff O'Dell makes tag match for Main Event.

RassleResults: The Palace Jackson, TN 3.22.07

Stan Lee beat Rude
Derrick King beat Kevin McQueen
Doug Gilbert over Chris O'neal
Flex by DQ over Flash Flanagan

Main Event - NO CONTEST
It was Kevin White and his partner Dan Reeves (sports announcer from 101.5 in Jackson) vs. Bill Dundee and his partner 101.5 George B. ( afternoon host of 101.5). They have been promoting this on the radio the last few weeks. At the end of the match Kevin walked out and the 2 D.J.'s went at it. Derrick King came in because he was upset with not being in the main event. Dan Reeves hit Derrick with the powder and both DJ's gave Derrick a double backdrop and both DJ's pinned Derrick King.

----Around 175 in the building with a gate around $1,750. Biggest crowd of that this group has promoted for the Palace so far...DK does the job for two DJs. You think that hurts his heat any?? Nah, I bet the marks ate it up...McQueen's is Kevin White's student...Funny story about White having heat with all the local colleges in Jackson. Lambert University girls basketball just won the NAIA Championship and Kevin did the radio show on Wednesday, downing all the schools in Jackson. Radio station got a lot of kickback from his interview. I was told they will probably not ask him back on air. He was heeling on them calling them minor league schools. Great!!! Love that!!! There are some real heels still left in wrestling...Jerry Lawler no showed.

Ratings Are In!!

----I don’t have the show broke down with what happened in what quarter, because I actually recorded over Saturday’s show on mistake. The show overall did a 3.6 [60,273 viewers] in the show’s best rating since 1.27.07 show.

1st Quarter: 2.9 [47,849 viewers]
2cnd Quarter: 3.4 [56,914 viewers] [+9,065 viewers]
3rd Quarter: 4.1 [69,163 viewers] [+12,249 viewers]
4th Quarter: 4.1 [69,163 viewers]

----This show is something that you like to see as a company. Even though it started slow, it ended with 21,314 more viewers. The show went up for two quarters straight and just stayed for the last thirty minutes being seen by almost 70,000 people. The show was not really that good, but the viewers did get to see the best match of the show – Johnny Dotson vs Nick Bondage and the most entertaining match of the show – DK vs Cujo in the last 30 minutes.

**This report is also posted on www.prowrestlingpress.com every week.

Jackson Tonight!!!

----Bill Dundee will be running The Palace In Jackson tonight with Dundee, Kevin White and Derrick King. I am not sure who else will be working, but they have been promoting on a local radio station for the last two weeks. White will be facing one of the local DJs in a gimmick match and it should pretty good.

RassleBits: Steroids, Edge and Steve Creasy

-----I just loved this comic and wanted to share it with you guys. I know you will "get it". I stole it from www.gerweck.net. He stole it from ESPN.

----Speaking of roids, Edge talks about using HGH in his comments about the recent Sports Illustrated report that mentioned him along with Randy Orton, Rey Misterio, Eddy Guerrero and Kurt Angle.

----Steve Creasy is at it again!!! This time it is not wrestling, but it is boxing. CLICK HERE to see his website. Creasy seems to always be 2 years behind as MMA has almost surpassed boxing and would be the sport to invest in, instead of boxing. But, as we all know Creasy is not playing with a full deck.

Brandon Baxter vs Austin Lane Clip Posted!!!

----I posted a little over 10 minute clip from the match Saturday night. This was taken by my daughter [pictured with the band "Further Down"]while standing on a chair, so the quality is not great. But, you do get to see the battle up the bleachers, the piledriver on the stage and other stuff. The main reason I wanted to post this clip is that you have to listen to the freakin' crowd!!!! They were nuts!!! CLICK HERE to go to RassleTube for the clip.

RassleResults: NBW Dyersburg, TN 3.17.07 - Alan Steele Wins The Title!!

NBW High Risk Champion Gaylon Ray beat Gryffon X to retain his title

Psycho with Kayte beat Big Red

Phoenix X beat Kilo

In a 10 man rush for the title "Real Deal" Tim Edwards became #1 Contender for the NBW Heavyweight Championship after pinning Bonecrusher, in the match was: Kid, Slim Pickens, Tommy Love, Gunner Thompson, J Weezy, Chris Graham, Psycho and Big Red.

"All That" Alan Steele def. "Upset Kid" Jeremy Moore for the NBW Heavyweight Championship after pushing Moore's Ace Crusher off and hitting him with a swinging side slam.

----There were over 100 in the building with close to 90 paid and a $450 house…Show opened w/ NBW Heavyweight Champion Jeremy Moore coming to the ring, he had a contract issuing an open challenge to anyone in Ca$h flow for his title. If Moore lost he would have to start at the bottom, if the other lost, he was fired from NBW. Alan Steele won paper, rock, scissors to face Moore later on…Loverboy Barry was special announcer…. After the Main Moore just sat in the ring mad, even ripping a sign up and not talking to the fans that were approaching him…They got a bigger dressing room built and this is good news for all the guys.

RassleBits: Shelbyville, Central States and TNA Fan!!!

----Just a few bits that I wanted to direct the readers of this site to:

*Nashville Wrestling has the results featuring local talent on their site, but they put “Picture Perfect” as Jon Michael and Matt Boyce. I bet this made Christian Jacobs happy. LOL They also have news on Mike Bucci's return to Nashville. Anyone in this area that is serious about becoming a wrestler needs to be at the camp!!

*Results are posted HERE for the Central States show Saturday night featuring Seth Knight beating “The Golden Boy” Greg Anthony for the NWA Southern Junior Heavyweight Title. Mark Sterling lost his belt that night to Dingo. Sterling wrestled in the area for LAW and credits his “learning of the business” to Derrick King and Ken Wayne and is very respectable of Tennessee wrestling as a whole. Sterling use to drive 8 hours one way to just work in this area.

*You got to read this – CLICK HERE – about how a fan was treated at the most recent TNA PPV. This is crazy stuff!!

Void beat Showstopper

Boogieman Scream beat Lawman Williams for the TIWF Regional Title. After the match, a second Boogieman appeared and the Boogieman in the ring pulled off his mask to reveal Steven Rampage as the new champ. Lawman had joined Ravishing Randy’s group “The Foundation” earlier in the night, but Rampage screwed him to win the belt.

High Rollers beat Showstopper/AC Havoc

Moondog Rex beat Azrael

PK Ripper vs AJ Bradley was stopped when Void came in. Void tries to get them to quit fighting each other and join together.

Way Cool beat Steven Rampage in a title match by DQ. Lawman Williams/Ravishing Randy/Wildside jumped in and Moondog Rex made the save.

----Crowd was 89 with a gate of around $445…Wildside came out with a neckbrace, a crutch and his arm in a sling saying he could not wrestling Way Cool. In the main, Wildside jumped as if nothing was wrong…Next week: Wildside vs Way Cool and Moondog Rex vs Dazzlin Dixie…I like the Way Cool/Wildside feud because it actually means something, since these two teamed for so long.

More On The Benefit!!!

----I got this in my e-mail last night. Congrats to cast and crew for putting on a good show and for raising so much money. This number includes all the money raised along with the gate. And, as Aaron says -- there is more coming. Great job!!

Here the official numbers -

$8,633.18 was turn over to the family tonight.

I just took a dvd copy of the show by and saw Whitney this evening. She was asleep and tired from the trip from Altanta. I spoke with both of her parents, and gave them our best, they wanted to thank everyone for everything that has been done for them the past few months.

There is more money still coming in, so this total is still going up.

Thanks to all who took part in the show Saturday night.

Diaper Match: Craven Moorehead beat Hollywood – After the match DK/Hollywood busted Craven over the head with a chair and Craven juiced good.

Fans Lumberjack Match – Tatt2 beat Brian Steele - Fans beat the hell out of Steele!! Steele has tons of heat at this show and fans ate this up.

DK did a backstage interview before the main with him picking Lee as his partner. He also ask Brian Steele to have his back.

C4P beat Derrick King/Stan Lee – Motley hit DK with his finisher finisher, Wood comes, Brian Steele comes out and slides the guitar in – Tatt2 knocks Steele off the ring - then DK then goes to hit Motley with the guitar, but he moves and DK hits Lee. Lee’s head was busted open for shoot. DK went on to say it was a mistake as the storyline continues to play out.

----Gate was $980 with around 160 people in the building…Fans were given options to vote on what kind of matches they wanted to see. As you can tell, I did not get full details on the options and such, but was told the crowd was into it…Not sure if C4P won the tag team titles or not??

Brandon Baxter E-mails RasslinRiotOnline!!!

----I would like to thank Brandon for taking the time to respond to this. After all is said and done -- BB and everyone knows there is going to be shit started no matter what. I think at times I am given stuff to just post, so it will start crap. I would like say congrats to ASWF for pulling off a great wrestling show and raising over $9,000 for the benefit!!!

There’s been a lot of finger pointing regarding who contacted who, to setup the Whitney Whelchel benefit that was held this past Saturday night in Paragould. Here’s how it all went down. I was contacted a couple months ago by a family friend of the Whelchel’s, Farrell Gibson. He had heard us on the radio talking about the Jerry Lawler show that we promoted in Walnut Ridge, and he asked me if wrestling fundraisers worked. I told him that if they were promoted properly, they would work. He then asked me what we would have to do to put one together. I told him that I worked on these shows strictly as a talent, and with the proper agreement with Clear Channel, I could help with promotion of the event. However, I told him that I didn’t “run” the shows, and that he would have to get with a local promoter to make it work.

At that point he asked me who he could speak with. I told him that Memphis Wrestling would probably love to do an event in this area. I mentioned that there was a local company in Paragould that he could use. And I mentioned Aaron Polston’s ASWF Wrestling. Farrell had heard of Aaron and his reputation, and he decided he wanted to speak with him first. I gave them each other’s contact information, and they did the rest. Once they finalized the details of the event, they booked me to wrestle. I then went to our Clear Channel management team, and they agreed to help promote the event.

When Farrell and I initially spoke, I told him that we’d probably raise between $2,000 & $3,000 for the Whelchel’s. Boy were we wrong! Saturday night we raised over $9,000 to assist in Whitney’s continued treatment and care! Whitney’s step brother was in attendance, and he was very grateful toward everyone that worked on putting the event together. We spoke with Whitney’s stepmother after the show via speakerphone, and she was nearly brought to tears as the crowd chanted, “Whitney, Whitney, Whitney.” Whitney had just undergone cranioplasty surgery, and Mrs. Whelchel put us all on speakerphone so Whitney could hear the crowd! It was a VERY special moment!

The bottom line is that there was an amazing event held in Paragould this past weekend. An event that raised a bunch of money for a family that needed the help, and an event that hopefully began to repair the tarnished image of wrestling in this area. Yet there are still people out there pointing fingers at each other. In my opinion, there is so much wasted energy on the internet these days. Why can’t the talent and the promoters focus on their own talent, and their own companies? What’s the point of “working” each other? It seems that everyone these days has their own agenda, and they’re trying to shoot their own “angles” on the internet. Why don’t we focus our energies on creating “angles” that actually draw WRESTLING FANS? Why has that become a foreign concept? You can try to work the boys and the internet audience all you want, but they’re going to be there anyway. How many of the boys buy tickets to go to the local shows? Probably not very many, so why shoot these angles? Let’s draw in the wrestling fans, and actually make some MONEY! The last two ASWF shows have drawn large crowds & big houses, and nobody has had to hop on the internet and shoot an angle. Austin Lane and I weren’t trash talking each other on message boards. We focused on drawing in the wrestling fans, and it paid off. When’s the last time that you saw Jerry Lawler, Bill Dundee, or Brian Christopher trash talking each other on a wrestling message board? It DOESN’T happen! Use the internet as a tool to promote your events, and to better your shows…not to get yourself over, and shoot your own angles!
Now I’ll hop off of my soapbox. Thank you very much!

Loose Cannon Releases Statement

I have nothing to hide again - half-truths is one thing but the whole truth is another. I say it again if we was asked and I am pretty damn sure Buster and staff of Arkansas Championship Wrestling would have done the benefit but we was never ask. Brandon Baxter was called by the family or rep of the family and he referred ASWF not Arkansas Championship Wrestling. This thing bout ACW hating benefits is totally a misquote on someone's part. I point to last year's stuff we did for the can drive and Toys for Tots although they were not full benefits we did our part in helping out our community.

Memphis Wrestling TV Report 3.17.07

----The show opens the show plugging www.shopathometv.com appearance with Jimmy Hart and Corey Maclin.

----Flex comes out for an interview. Flex says he told his partner to stay home again today. Flex puts over Hulk Hogan vs Jerry Lawler match.

----Flash Flanagan/Bill Dundee beat by DQ "Insane Clowns" with Rashard. Heat on Flash. Flash had Bobo pinned, but Jerry Calhoun stopped counting for no reason. I guess he was waiting on Flex, who jumped in hitting Flash. Kevin White and Mr. Hughes jump in also. Dundee does a good interview after the match.

----Kevin White/Mr. Hughes beat Tatt2/Sam Shaw. A squash with White/Hughes giving them very little. Shaw looked bad on the hot tag waiting on White. White used a swinging neckbreaker for the finish, but Shaw bumped wrong. White/Mr. Hughes interview after the match - Flash/Dundee jump them.

---- "Hollywood Clique" [Fire/Flame/Lord Humongous II] with Jimmy Blaylock out for an interview. Fire/Flame/Huey beat O'Neal/Bishop/Oz. O'Neal looked good here. BOS walk out on O'Neal when Rashard comes out. Huey pins O'Neal.

----They aired classic clips of a Hulk Hogan promo video. Hogan had hair on his chest. LOL They then air the Lawler "Hall of Fame" piece from WWE.

----"Opening the Vault" segment with Adrian Street vs Speedy Tall Tree. This piece was less than a minute. Why would you air something like this???

----"Sam Town" Title Match: Johnny Dotson beat Nick Bondage by DQ. Maclin actually informed us during this match that Bondage had a mask on and you could not see his face. LOL Good match. Dotson came out of heat with fire. Bondage sprayed black mist into Dotson's face for the DQ.

----Derrick King interview - He challenges Lawler again. Moondog Cujo comes out and chases DK in and out of the ring. Cujo won by DQ over DK when the "Hollywood Clique" jumped Cujo. Crowd barking loud for the Moondog. He is over with this TV crowd. King had as good as a match as you could have with this guy. Cujo actually started not selling three guys and ran them off with his shovel.

----Tim Grind was not at the tapings last week, so he was not on either show....Macklin got the Clowns mixed up...Dunn's Transmission commecial aired with Brian Christopher, Jerry Lawler and Lawler's gf Renee...Huey [Gary Nations} is in the best shape he has been in in years. They just start calling him Humongous II for no reason. Maclin said that he some kin to Lord Humongous...Blaylock is a good change from having Nat The Rat out there...They promote "Sam's Town" show on 4.13.07 "Nightmare In Tunica". [Is Ken Wayne going to be there??] I have been told that Lawler will not be on this show, so it will be interesting how they draw. They are promising WWE superstars. The last big show they had without Lawler drew 300 fans...Anton Levigh [area worker] looks like Speedy Tall Tree...All the babys put over the Hogan vs Lawler match...Why would you defend the "Sam's Town" Title on TV?? Title is a trophy...Nothing much on this show other than further the Dundee/White feud and push of Lawler vs Hogan. Dotson/Bondage had a good match, but could not save the show. Crowd was hot during the Cujo/DK bout.

Arena Report: ASWF Paragould, AR 3.17.07 - Whitney Whelchel Benefit!!

----The show started around 6:00 PM with the Jonesboro, AR band “Further Down”. These guys have a great sound. They remind me of a wrestler you see and you just know he should be “big time”, but he is still working indys. Great sound and deserve to be heard on other radio stations – not only the ones around here.

----Wrestling started with Aaron Polston thanking everyone and they did a short angle to set up Bill Dundee vs Dirty Little Dave . They had one guy [Blake Davis] who liked DLD and one guy [Keith Mathene] that liked Dundee. DLD jumped the guy that liked Dundee and then Dundee made the save. They then set up the match with both guys being in the respective corners.

----Marcus O’Neal beat X-Cailbur and Morgan Lane in a triple threat. O’Neal may not have the look of a wrestler like say Juice, but it was far ahead of these guys in psychology and ability. O’Neal going to the ring went into to the crowd establishing himself as a babyface within 30 seconds of going out. [**]

----Chris O’Neal beat Jamie Jay. Jay was a little sloppy, but the match was ok. This first match is an indication that the fans here are mostly not wrestling fans. Good pop for O’Neal’s patent kick. Good psychology. [**1/2]

----Bill Dundee with Mathene beat DLD with Davis. Not much of a match, but really nothing wrong from two old pros. The crowd seem to be excited to see Dundee. Even though the crowd may not know the young guys, they did recognize Dundee. Dundee gave the whole match to DLD with DLD getting heat with just simple heel moves. Good pop for the finish. [*1/2]

----Anton Leveigh/The Giant Hillbilly beat Brandon Barbwire/Justin “The Juice” Smart. Smart has a great look emulating AJ Styles. There was actually psychology in this bout with Leveigh taking the heat. Hot tag to Hillbilly and he just chunked everyone around shitcanning Barbwire to set up for Leveigh doing the Canadian Destroyer on Smart. Hillbilly is bad, but didn’t embarrass himself in this bout. All three of the other guys have tons of potential and actually showed me they can work a match, instead of trying to be a bunch of spot monkeys. [**]

----Chris Rocker beat Reno Diamond with a frog splash. An almost perfect bout. These guys work well together. Rocker is able to slow Reno down to actually working and they throw all the spots in where they are needed. Rocker did an Asai Moonsault to the floor on Diamond. Diamond pretty much “hot-shot’ed” Rocker on the ring railing to start the heat. The only thing about the bout was the crowd didn’t know either guy and could have cared less. [***] - If this bout would have been in the right building with the right drama, it could have easily been [****].

----Brandon Baxter beat Austin lane in a Paragould Street Fight. Take the level of heat for the other matches and multiply it by 10 for this one. Just a great old fashion brawl all over the building. Fans loved it. Baxter took Lane to the very top of the bleachers and tried to toss him over. Lane ended up blocking it, but Baxter thru him down almost the whole set of them as Lane tumbled as the fans cleared. They went into the crowd and to the stage. Baxter piledrove Lane on the concrete stage and then pushed him off of it. Lane took a hard bump. Baxter then did a splash from off the stage to the floor. The crowd on the floor was standing up in their chairs [including me] to get a complete view. The finish had two ref bumps and two false finishes, which popped the crowd. Lane went to finish Baxter off with the chair, but BB ducked and Lane hit the ropes with the chair bounced hitting Lane in the face. As he was selling, BB hit him with a stunner and pinned him for the win. Crowd popped like crazy!! [****]

---- “The Posse” [Lil Chris/Simon] beat “Da Blackout Squad” [Oz/Bishop] in a “Graffiti On A Pole” Match. Two cans of spray paint are put in opposite corners with the object of getting the paint and spraying your opponent. Oz sprayed Bishop on mistake and Simon rolled up Bishop for the win. How do you follow the BB/Lane bout?? The show is running late and these people are not wrestling fans? Well, these four guys went out and did a crazy brawl and it got over with the fans. There is really too much to report as they paired off and were doing spots all over the place. The crowd liked it. They made the focus of the spray cans being on the pole, but did not make it so it was the TOTAL focus. Bishop took Lil Chris from the top rope and did a chokeslam lifting Chris full extension to the mat. Good God this guy is strong!! Chris also took a nasty bump to the stage running full force when Oz threw him into it. [***1/2]

---- Crowd was 786 paid with a gate of $6,150. There were tons of cheerleaders in the building doing stunts and stuff between matches, so adding all of those people into the mix, there was probably close to 1,000 people in the building at one time. This was easily the largest crowd to see wrestling in this area this year. It also become ASWF’s biggest gate of their history…Aaron Polston started the show by saying that ACW promotes next door at the Armory and he would like to thank them for canceling their show. He also plugged that they would be going weekly in April…Speaking of, I was told that ACW was asked to do a joint show with this group, since ACW runs this town regularly, but they refused to do it. Also they were ask to do the benefit and it was said that Buster Johnson doesn’t do benefit shows. So, that group missed the opportunity to be seen by 10 times as many fans as they do on a regular basis…Apparently Loose Cannon was seen the parking lot talking with Bill Dundee…Michael Ward was on hand doing the ring announcing and play by play. I was not able to hear the play by play, but he did an excellent job ring announcing. He is my favorite announcer by only hearing him once do play by play and once just ring announcing…It’s strange, since I am stickler for pure wrestling, that the two best bouts I have seen live this year have both been brawls – “Picture Perfect” vs BOS and BB vs Lane…”Da Blackout Squad” [Oz/Bishop] came out in full gimmick with Oz gearing a plastic skull in full face paint. The crowd did not know what to think of these guys…Thanks to ASWF cast and crew for a great show. Even Bill Dundee was nice to me. LOL Speaking of Dundee, I did have a nice conversation with him about a couple of projects that we might work on together. I am not going to spill the beans completely, because nothing is etched in stone, but for all the long time fans of Memphis Wrestling and Bill Watts’ Mid-South Wrestling, this will have you guys salivating.
