Identity of the "Cop" in Tunica friday night by Gene Jackson

It's been confirmed on Hollywood Jimmy's board by Axeman that the "Cop" who came out and "served papers" on Jerry Lawler only to end up getting piledriven was none other than the illustrious and controversial XOW promoter Tony Watts.

Jerry Lawler Announced for TLCW's "Super Summer Showdown"

----The gimmick we ran on the Friday edition of RasslePod has me announcing that "The Golden Boy" Greg Anthony opponent will be Jerry "The King" Lawler.

As promised on the RasslePod: Sid Video by Gene Jackson

As discussed in last week's story on Sid and mentioned in Friday's RasslePod, here's a classic clip of Sid learning what the red light on the camera means.

A Note From mo_vols - Lawler Gets Served Angle Pics!!!

----Here are two pics from last night of Lawler being "served" papers. mo_vols wanted me to write some kind of story around them, but I think he did a good job talking about how good the show was last night. I am glad to hear that it seems like they hit a homerun. I have also heard for more people bragging on the TC2 vs Tatt2/Starr bout. They also are suppose to have a real good match on TV tonight. They need to keep that feud going. I have talked to several guys from the show last night and no one seen Lawler get served for real. It is possible that he did in private. Also, there was no way he was going to jail before going to court over this, so that was all a work. I hope everyone realized that??

Hey Brian,

Well its about 3:15am and I've just got done downloading the pictures from Sam's Town. I would've waited until tomorrow but the show was so good that I thought that those guys of Memphis Wrestling needs a well deserved "pat on the back". I guess Corey Maclin answered my question that I had going into the Sam's Town show, "Will he be able to follow an awesome TV show with an awesome Sam's Town show? Well he did in flying colors! I applaud Corey Maclin and the guys for going out and putting an A+ show. Now here is my next big question, can Memphis Wrestling keep pushing the "buck" and match or even out do this show. But anyways here's the pics and I hope you can really do something with the Lawler pics and do your magic and write a little story using those pics. Have a good one, bro!

CWA Results - 7/20/07 - Selmer, TN

CWA Championship Wrestling returned to the Jaycees Building in Selmer, TN as part of the McNairy County Fair on Friday, July 20. The event was free as part of the fair admission.

Results: J. J. Fuller def. Danny Morris . . . Lil’ Chris def. the Super Destroyer in a five minute match giving the Posse a guaranteed title shot at Destroyer & Beau James for the CWA Tag Team title later in the night . . . Kid Nickels def. CWA Champion Don Bass by DQ in a non-title match . . . L. A. Warren def. Big Nasty Bill by DQ . . . The Posse def. Super Destroyer & Beau James to regain the CWA Tag Team Title . . . CWA TV Champion Eric Wayne def. Chris Kilgore to retain the title . . . Fire & Flame def. Buff Bagwell & Tracy Smothers.

RassleNotes: Crowd was around 250-300 at various times throughout the evening . . . After the Nickels-Bass match, Bass and “Gentleman” Jim Casey put the boots to Nickels until Ken & Eric Wayne made the save . . . Al Hall was the special referee for the Fire & Flame/Bagwell & Smothers match. After taking a foreign object away from Fire & Flame at the start of the match, he ended up giving it back to them to use to get the win. Brian Thompson got in the ring to dispute the call and asked a local police officer to verify that Hall had assisted in the win. Fire, Flame and Hall jumped the officer until Rodney Grimes and Bagwell made the save. CWA will return to Selmer TONIGHT with a second night of wrestling as part of the fair. Grimes announced the officer as special referee for the evening plus top notch opponents for Fire & Flame. CWA Champion Don Bass will face CWA TV Champion Eric Wayne in a title for title match. The Posse is on the card as is Kid Nickels. Bell time is 7:30 p.m.

RassleResults: "Sam's Town" Memphis Wrestling Tunica, MS 7.20.07

LAWLER CONTINUES TO WORK AN ANGLE

----Just before intermission at the show, Hollywood Jimmy Blaylock came out to ringside and had party hats and noise makers. He said it was a “bon voyage” party for Jerry Lawler. They called out Lawler as Blaylock said he had a big surprise for him. A "police officer" came out to serve papers to Lawler. Lawler took the papers and put them in his tights and then gave the officer a piledriver. I was told it was a good skit. Lawler continues to work the whole Sal Corrente incident as an angle.

THE RESULTS

----"The Genocide Agents" [Maxx Corbin/Albino Rhino] beat "Naughty By Nature" [Rude/Pokerface] with help from Kevin White…"Too Cool 2" [Tim Grind/Flex] retained the Southern Tag Team Titles beating Tatt2/Dustin Starr. The finish involved Tatt2 getting pinned…Kevin White beat Spellbinder…TLC Match: Derrick King retained the JR Title Match by beating Johnny Dotson…Spellbinder won the battle royal eliminating Mr. Hughes leaving him in the ring with Corbin/Albino. They ran at him and he ducked sending them over the top rope…Sid Vicious beat Jerry Lawler with from Ron Rage. Lawler was making his comeback, when Johnny Rotten ran out. Lawler goes to hit Rotten and Rage comes thru the crowd and gives Sid brass knuckles to hit Lawler for the win. Vicious/Rage/Rotten beat Lawler down after the match with NBN trying to make the save and getting beat down also.

----280 people in the crowd with a gate close to $5,600…Security was real tight with scanning of tickets and hand stamp. Everyone HAD TO HAVE A TICKET to get in the building. The guys that gave Sal Corrente so much hell and Sal got into it with are there in their same seats…The finish of the White/Spell match had Spell with a in the scorpion death lock on White and after a ref bump and one of the Agents used a tazer gun on him. Before the match, Spell did some magic while White and Agents were holding the Skull pole. Spell's magic made him taken over the pole while they held it. Shango Sting???...Not much of a TLC match as no table was broken, but DK used a chair to win…Lawler has the balls to actually do this angle with him piledriving the “officer”…To the best of my knowledge; Lawler was NOT served any real papers tonight. But, it also could have been just done in private…Thanks to my “eye in the sky” mo_vols for the help with this report.

"Sam's Town" Memphis Wrestling Tunica, MS MATCH BY MATCH COVERAGE!!

----I just got word from mo-vols that it looks like there are at least 200 people at the show with still 15 minutes to start. Security was real tight with scanning of tickets and hand stamp. Everyone HAD TO HAVE A TICKET to get in the building. The guys that gave Sal so much hell and Sal got into it with are there in their same seats.

----It looks like there are only 280 in the crowd to see the show, so the publicity did not help.

----"The Genocide Agents" [Maxx Corbin/Albino Rhino] beat "Naughty By Nature" [Rude/Pokerface] with help from Kevin White. Poker jumped from the top turnbuckle and did a dive on two of the agents. [Maxx/Alex Krisis] It was a good bout.

-----"Too Cool 2" [Tim Grind/Flex] retained the Southern Tag Team Titles beating Tatt2/Dustin Starr. mo_vols said this was the best bout he has seen Tatt2/Starr in since coming to the shows. The finish involved Tatt2 getting pinned.

----Kevin White beat Spellbinder. Spell had him in the scorpion death lock and after a ref bump and one of the Agents used a tazer gun on him. Before the match, Spell did some magic while White and Agents were holding the Skull pole. Spell's magic made him taken over the pole while they held it. Shango Sting???

----Derrick King retained the JR Title Match by beating Johnny Dotson. Dotson used 2 or 3 frogsplashs. No table was involved, except DK brought out a card table and said it was small for Dotson. King was thrown into a ladder. King used a chair to win the bout. Good match.

----Hollywood Jimmy Blaylock came out and had party hats and noise makers. He said it was a going away party for Lawler. They called out Lawler as Blaylock said he had a big surprise for him. A "police officer" came out to serve papers to Lawler. Lawler took the papers and put them in his tights and then gave the officer a piledriver. Good skit.

----mo_vols said that the crowd may just be a bit bigger than the last time, but they are rowdy!! He was still bragging on Tatt2/Starr saying how this show really got them over.

----Spellbinder won the battle royal eliminating Mr. Hughes leaving him in the ring with Corbin/Albino. They ran at him and he ducked sending them over the top rope.

----Sid Vicious beat Jerry Lawler with from Ron Rage.

----To the best of my knowledge, Lawler was NOT served any real papers tonight. But, it also could have been just done in private.

----Thanks to mo_vols for the help and thanks to everyone for joining us tonight!!

These Guys Just Don't Like Each Other; Do they??

Ricky Morton pulls out of tag team tournament that bears his name

by Tracy Smothers

Ricky Morton wanted me to let the internet press know that he will not be appearing at Hermie Sadler’s Rock and Roll Express Tag Team Tournament this weekend due to a dispute over his payments. The UWF starting promoting the show bearing the name of the team he made famous without Ricky’s advance approval. He was not even booked to appear until he was already listed on the advertisements. He did not know he would be teaming with Robert until he gave Sadler the info to contact him. Then he learned that Robert was going to be making three times what he had agreed to work for.

Ricky didn’t feel that it was fair for him to have to “to carry Robert’s fat ass again!” by doing all the work, and all the talking while Robert stands in the corner making three times what Ricky was supposed to get. He discussed the issue with Sadler in an attempt to resolve the issue before deciding to cancel his appearance. He felt that he was disrespected by Sadler and has no interest in working for him again. He is sorry about having to disappoint the fans that were looking forward to seeing him. Ricky will now be teaming with Chris Hamrick Saturday night at the IWA Mid-South show in Joliet, IL

"KENTUCKY FRIED RASSLIN" By Scott Bowden

2007-07-19 - History Repeats
History repeats: Scott Bowden returns to wreak havoc on Memphis Rasslin'

More than 13 years to the date I crashed my size-12 Doc Marten shoe down on Jerry Lawler's head at the Mid-South Coliseum, I returned last Saturday to Memphis Wrestling for a one-shot deal. (Actually, I taped two shows, with my second appearance airing this Saturday at 10 p.m. on WLMT.)

My appearance shouldn't have come as a surprise to hardcore Memphis fans, who may recall that I once vowed to Lawler on the air, "You haven't heard the last of me!" (For those who have never had the chance to utter that ridiculous expression, it's quite exhilarating. Try it the next time a girl dumps you, or when a friend doesn't pay a loan back. You'll love it.)

I'd love to say that I'd been plotting my revenge for years; however, that's not the case. This was rather an impromptu visit to the WLMT TV studio, where the Memphis show is now taped every two weeks--long gone from the legendary WMC-TV 5 studio. I'd been planning a trip home to Memphis for months, with Kevin Lawler promising (threatening) to get me booked for TV the past couple of weeks. I was so sure nothing would come of it that I didn't bother to pack any essentials of my former "notorious frat-boy from Germantown" gimmick. No Polo leather moccasins. No Cole Haan shoes. No starched Ralph Lauren button-downs. No schoolboy-striped Gap ties. And not a single chocolate-brown rope belt. (And before you ask about the Florida State football helmet, a friend of mine back home recently asked about its whereabouts. I explained that I last heard that Tommy Rich was using it for target practice, shooting it with a shotgun in his backyard. Upon hearing that, my buddy said, "Please tell me that man doesn't live in my ZIP code.")

I burned most of my preppy stuff for a more trendy (think SWINGERS or ENTOURAGE) look shortly after arriving in Los Angeles. (Preppy may have suited me in Germantown, but we're talkin' Beverly Hills, baby!) Lucky for me, most of my Memphis friends still dress exactly the way we did back in '94, so I knew I had plenty of sources for Polo garb. I believe '94 was the cutoff year for most of my buddies, who still look exactly the same--give or take 25 pounds--and still listen to the exact same music. God bless 'em.

Early Thursday afternoon, Kevin texted me, "You're booked." I hadn't been this elated about the business since Eddie Gilbert told me back in May 1994, "We're turning you heel." I recall that before that first Memphis TV heel interview back in '94, Kevin approached me backstage saying, "Man, if you go on to do anything in the business, people will always remember this as the first Scott Bowden interview." I also recall the knot in my stomach getting a little tighter as those words hit me in the face. Thanks a lot, Kev.

I think the only person more excited than me was Mark James, who put together the amazing HISTORY OF MEMPHIS WRESTLING book, a collection of cards, matches, results and newspaper clippings from 1970 to 1985. I called to tell him the news and immediately went into heel mode, practicing my upcoming promo for Saturday TV. I'm fairly certain that Mark--whom I've never actually met--thinks I'm insane.

This past Saturday, Kevin went out of his way--literally--to ensure I'd make TV. Not only did he give me a wake-up text, but he also drove out to my mom's Bartlett Germantown estate to pick me up to transport me to the WLMT (W.e L.ove M.emphis T.ennessee) studio. First, we stop by my dad's place nearby to peruse his dress clothes. I hastily pick out a pair of gray dress slacks and a pair of smart shoes to go with my cool black button-down, complete with a nice pair of silver cufflinks given to me by my fiancée, Hayley.

We arrive at the WLMT studio, and with the exception of a change of venue, the scene is virtually the same as my last TV appearance. Wrestlers joking around like high-school kids, oiling up their bodies and putting on their spandex--a sharp contrast to the bewildered studio employees walking around. Some of the boys are anxiously practicing the spots they'll use later in their matches. (Where did these guys learn to work--the DDP School of Rasslin'?)

In the conference room, we find Lawler and Corey Maclin, the latter of whom bellows, "SCOOOTT BOOWDEENN! Kentucky Fried Rasslin'!" (Maclin's always been a mark for me.) Meanwhile, Lawler quickly observes that I'm a lot bigger than I was 10 years ago, quickly turning to Kevin and remarking "What d'you think? Steroids?" Seemed a little tacky in light of recent events, but.... Little did the King realize my size was a result of my consistent work-out regimen, combined with a steady LA diet of Baja Fresh, Coronas and El Coyote burritos and margaritas. (You, too, kids, can look like this with lots of hard work and indigestion.)

I show Lawler my copy of James' book and he loves it, looking at me innocently as he says, "How can I get a copy of this?" I think he expected me to fork over my copy, but quite frankly, I really didn't want to part with it. (Relax, Kingfish, I've spoken to James and we're getting a copy out to you.) Referee Jerry Calhoun also marked out for the book, as he and Lawler worked several of those main events together for years.

Lawler gives me the spiel for my promo, a scenario suggested by Kevin. Basically, Lawler wanted to capitalize on the amazing media coverage of his incident with "Big Cheese" Sal Corrente, in which the King apparently potatoed the manager with a stiff right hand during an event at Sam's Town Casino in Tunica, Mississippi. Rather than use Sal, I was booked as an associate of the Big Cheese--his Hollywood associate who could assemble a powerful team of lawyers to ensure that Lawler was arrested at the upcoming Friday night card in Tunica. (Back in my heyday, my buddies used to love it when I vowed to assemble "my team of lawyers in Germantown.")

I leave the conference area and immediately bump into another USWA personality from years ago making his return: Sid Vicious.

For months back in '94, I had heat with Sid, who was relegated to Memphis main events after being fired from WCW for stabbing Arn Anderson with a pair of scissors. (Sid and I were standing backstage together at the Mid-South Coliseum while Lawler and Doug Gilbert were screaming at each other over a miscue in the ring. Sid told me, "Man, sounds like it's getting heated back there." I joked, "Yeah, hope there's not any scissors back there." I thought Sid was going to kill me on the spot.) Our eyes met Saturday and Sid, looking absolutely disgusted, said, "Oh...my...God! This can't...be...happening. Fuckin' Scott Bowden's here. My day is shit!" Ah, just like old times.

Sid's Return to Memphis:
Like I used to do years ago, I found a secluded corner and practiced my spiel, ensuring that I had a couple of nice one-liners in my back pocket, with the rest improvised. (The way wrestling used to be before "creative team writers" replaced bookers.) And, like that fateful morning in May 1994, I stood nervously outside the curtain as Maclin kicked off the show with our segment. Backstage, Maclin instructed me that he would say he had received a phone call from me asking for interview time. I was stunned when Maclin announced to the viewing audience with a straight face that "the caller ID read, 'Kentucky Fried Rasslin'." I hadn't realized he was going to mention the column. Funny stuff.

I cockily walk out, looking at the crowd with disdain, and backhand Maclin with my first zinger: "They say some things never change. But I swear, Corey Maclin, your suits have gotten tackier, and these people have gotten uglier." Booooooooooooo! All my nerves disappear at that moment, and I explain how I'd received a call during a power lunch in Beverly Hills from the Big Cheese--or as he's known in Los Angeles, "El Queso Grande"-- asking for legal help. I explain to the crowd that I empathized because Lawler always used to hit me "waayyy toooo hard." Lawler's music hits and I nervously tell Maclin, "Um, I gotta go call my agent!"

Eventually, Lawler sucker punches me. I try to escape, but Maclin tosses me back into the ring. (Hmmph...Lance Russell and Dave Brown always had way too much class to insert themselves into the action.) Lawler punches me again, and one of my precious cufflinks goes flying. Realizing that this is nothing compared to the thrashing I'll receive from Hayley if I return home to LA without it, I desperately start scanning the ring. Lawler gives me his classic fistdrop from the middle rope and leaves me for dead in the middle of the ring.

After Maclin goes to a break, I crawl around in a supposed haze desperately trying to find my cufflink. Finally, success. Whew. (I recall a beating Lawler gave me years ago in which one of my Ralph Lauren shoes went flying out of the ring. The Dream Machine--the late Troy Graham -- made the save, asking me, "Kid...you OK?" My reply in a quiet, desperate whisper: "Dreammm...findddd...myyyy...shooeee!")

Needless to say, this was a blast, and I'm thankful to Lawler and Maclin for the opportunity to revisit the business, if only for a short time. So, dear marks, it seems Jerry Lawler has the last laugh on Scott Bowden. Or does he? Find out next week what happened in hour two of the TV taping. If all goes as planned, I'll have clips via YouTube on the site as well. And be sure to check tomorrow's Comics 101 Mailbag, where I'll be answering your questions about my return to Memphis Rasslin'. (Thanks to all for the support and kind words.) For those of you wishing to order a copy of Mark James' book, you can order it directly at http://www.lulu.com/content/901600.

The Ratings - Memphis Wrestling 7.14.07

----The 7.14.07 featuring the surprise return to Memphis Wrestling of Sid Vicious scored only a 2.2 overall [36,768 viewers] rating. This was one of the best or the best Memphis Wrestling TV show this year, so it has to be a disappointment to the company. They scored 11,000 less than average viewers overall. The best quarter was close to average, but was almost half the viewers the highest quarter was of last week. Ratings of next week will be interesting since everyone should know that Sid Vicious is now on the TV show, so will his presence mean ratings. There was a plus to the show though – the gained 18,300 viewers from start to finish – and that is how the show should do.

TOMORROW NIGHT!!!

----We will have match by match coverage tomorrow night of "Sam's Town" Memphis Wrestling event with main of Jerry Lawler vs Sid Vicious. It might get interesting to see how far they run this arrest gimmick??? Coverage will start at 7:50 PM.

Shows for The Weekend

----The "show" of the weekend is the Memphis Wrestling "Sam's Town" show. It will be interesting to see if Sid Vicious can help them draw a bigger house. On the first SEW show that Vicious worked, there was only about 70 people. He also did some tuneup work in MCW in Osceola, AR with the all three houses with around 130 in the crowd with almost a $1000 house each time. That was almost double what there were running. It would be good to see 500+ at "Sam's Town". I will be in Dyersburg, TN on Saturday to interview Allen Walker and "Black Label Society" and will probably stay for the NBW show.

DNA evidence may connect family member to West Memphis 3 crime scene

----I have posted this because this case has a wrestling connection that some of you may not know about. Jackie Hicks JR, wrestled in this area on and off all his life, who passed away July 5, 2006 was the uncle of Stevie Branch. Pam Hobbs was his sister. I talked with Jackie 2 days before this death and he felt like he was on a full recovery. But, the one thing that he said that sticks with me is that if he did die that at least he would be able to see Stevie again.

----Jackie had to be restrained from the court room on one occasion during the trail when he tried to go after the West Memphis boys. The movie “Paradise Lost: The Childhood Murders at Robin Hood Hills” tried to show that the West Memphis Three did not commit the murders, but I remember Jackie not wanting to talk about it and he believed they were the real murders. I also believe that Terry Hobbs, the man that they have found DNA on, was one of Jackie's paulbears and actually shot Jackie one time during an agrument.

DNA evidence may connect family member to West Memphis 3 crime scene

More than a decade after three young West Memphis boys turned up dead in a drainage ditch, Action News 5 has learned DNA evidence may connect a family member to the crime scene.

14 years ago, three 8-year old boys were found murdered in West Memphis. Now, there is new information about the investigation.

The murders literally shocked the world.

It used to be wooded but after the three boys died it was all cut down. Now there may be new evidence that could lead to a hearing for the so -called West Memphis Three.

Our cameras caught the high powered defense team made up of international forensic scientists and an attorney from California when the group came to the Arkansas State Crime Lab in Little Rock in May.

They came to look at DNA evidence in the West Memphis Three case hoping to find something that would lead to a new hearing for Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley. What they have discovered is now coming out.

A Leiutenant from the West Memphis police department interviewed Pam Hobbs and her ex- husband Terry Hobbs recently.

Pam is the mother of Stevie Branch, one of the three 8-year-old boys murdered 14 years ago in West Memphis.

Sources say DNA from Terry Hobbs, Stevie Branch's step-father, was discovered in the rope used to tie up one of the boys.

Pam Hobbs recently did an interview that aired on Action News 5 in which she said she believes another suspect is still out there.
"I feel like the ones that killed my son, the three that were tried and convicted, they are guilty but I am like everyone else, was there someone else out there other than those three," said Hobbs.

The bodies of the three young boys were found in what was known as Robinhood Park in West Memphis.

Stevie Branch and Michael Moore died from drowning, and Christopher Byers died from blood loss after he was stabbed in the groin.

The West Memphis Three are behind bars. Damien Echols is on death row. All three say they are not guilty, despite their convictions.

The new West Memphis Three defense team hopes to get a hearing on the new evidence sometime this summer.

Arkansas prosecutors are also looking at the case.

RASSLEPOD with Sal Corrente

----I would like to thank Sal again for him giving me the shot at interviewing him. I would like to say that the quality of the interview is not perfect - this was my first attempt at using this software and there are some pops and cracks in it, but the interview is very interesting. If anyone would like to do a review of the interview for this site, then drop me a line. If anyone has comments, please send them in.

XOW Announces Show!!

----XOW has released the participants of their first show on August 3, 2007. The card looks back with some good talent in this area. Bill Dundee is a legend. Sarge O’Reilly is one of the better guys in this area along with Danny B Good and the Posse – this should be a good show. Eric Wayne, who will either win 2007 rookie of the year or place in 2cnd, has also joined the crew. I also think Max Steel has a lot of potential. The name that surprised me the most was - Wrath. He did help get XOW going with his "Asylum" team with Psycho, but I thought he had retired again.

Benoit Coverage: Authorities found steroids in body of pro-wrestler Benoit, who killed wife and son.

The Associated Press
Published: July 17, 2007
DECATUR, Georgia: Investigators said Tuesday they had found steroids and other drugs in the body of pro wrestler Chris Benoit, who killed his wife and young son last month before hanging himself.

Also found in Benoit were the anti-anxiety drug Xanax and the painkiller hydrocodone, according to a statement from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The GBI said Benoit tested negative for blood alcohol.
The test results were expected to shed more light on the Canadian-born wrestling star's last moments. Authorities said Benoit killed his wife and 7-year-old son in their Atlanta area home last month, placed Bibles next to their bodies and then hanged himself on the cable of a weight machine.

Anabolic steroids were found in the Benoits' gated home, leading officials to wonder if the drugs played a role in the killings. Some experts believe steroids can cause paranoia, depression and violent outbursts known as "roid rage."

The GBI statement said Nancy Benoit had Xanax, hydrocodone and hydromporphone in her body. Xanax is an anti-anxiety drug while hydrocodone is a painkiller.

The son, Daniel Benoit had Xanax in his system, the statement said. The GBI said it could not perform tests for steroids or human growth hormones on the son because of lack of adequate amount of urine.

The statement was released just before an afternoon news conference.
Federal authorities have charged Benoit's personal physician, Dr. Phil Astin, with improperly prescribing painkillers and other drugs to two patients other than Benoit. He has pleaded not guilty.

Before he was charged, Astin told the AP he prescribed testosterone for Benoit, a longtime friend, in the past. He would not say what, if any, medications he prescribed when Benoit visited his office June 22, the day authorities believe Benoit killed his wife.

----As you can tell by the report Nancy had some issues also with the drugs that were in her system. It looks as if Chris sedated his son before killing him and if so, then it was all a premeditated murder. As I made mention in thoughts on this, Chris Benoit was a child murderer. There is a place in hell for him right beside all the molestors and other child killers.

Sid still rules the world......apparently. by Gene Jackson

After all the speculation of the "big comeback" of Sid Vicious he returned to Memphis Wrestling this past saturday to attack "the King" during a segment with Lawler and "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock. "the King" was in the ring with Jimmy when "the Blue Denim Destroyer" and his "Bruiser Graham" sidekick, Johnny "I've never worked anywhere Sid didn't get me booked" Rotten hit the ring. Lawler turns around into a choke from Sid followed by a move that could only be described as a legsweep/trip on Lawler but was put over by Maclin (and again when it was replayed) as a "chokeslam". Ok, whatever. I guess if you call it that, it makes it fact. So anyway Sid gives Lawler the "shove down of doom" and runs Jimmy out of the ring while his buddy snaps pictures on his cell phone(one can only assume it's for his myspace) The upside of this is now fans will be treated to Sid vs. Lawler in Tunica this friday which probably won't be a classic match by any stretch but it's better than another round of Lawler vs. Mr. Hughes. That's the upside, the downside, more Sid promos. If you haven't seen this yet take a moment to enjoy these words from "the Master".

He has had some of the most infamously bad promos and slip ups on live tv, such as this little gem from Nitro a few years back.

I looked for the most infamous Sid promo but apparently no one has put it on youtube where he's doing a promo at a pay per view and he stops in the middle and tells Jim Ross "cut, let's start over" and Ross replies, "um, we're live big man." Funny shit.

In all seriousness I do think Sid returning will be good for Memphis, God knows they need something to make people watch besides a sissy manager trying to juice Lawler for money in a bogus bullshit case which I cannot believe is making such headlines in the mainstream news over there, they treat it like there were two "wrestling tradedies", Benoit killed himself and his family and Sal Corrente was punched in the face.......at a wrestling show........by a wrestler. (I'll save that rant for later after I hear this interview with Corrente.) I also hear Sid will continue to make the rounds on some of the independents in the area as well. That's a good thing too, as most of the shows have been using the same "names" for the past few years.

It's being said this is the beginning of his quest to get back in the WWE, I'm not sure if that's just talk for the angle or if that actually is a possibility, hell who knows, Dusty Rhodes has a featured match at SummerSlam this year so it's never too late I guess. I'm sure Sid/Cena could get over just as good as Cena vs. Blackberg at SummerSlam will. Who knows, stranger things have happened, let's just see if he walks out on RAW one night if Johnny Rotten is standing behind him taking pictures with his cell phone and if he comes out and gives Cena the "Choke Trip" if J.R. says "GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY, WHAT A CHOKESLAM, WITH GOD AS MY WITNESS CENA IS BROKEN IN HALF!!"

Arena Report: "Sex & Violence" Memphis, TN 7.14.07

A LITTLE HISTORY

----One of the most innovative & crazy competitors from Japan has to be Atsushi Onita. This man is considered the father of the Japanese Death Matches. Legend has it that Onita, after his career was winding down, wanted to emulate his early career doing a Memphis Wrestling style after participating in a ‘Concession stand” match. There was much criticism in his homeland for doing garbage wrestling, but he sold it to the millions. Onita won “Best Babyface” in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter 1993 and 1994 year end awards. He also won Most Charismatic Wrestling 1994 and was inducted into the WO Hall of Fame in 1996. Paul Heyman would later start ECW with influences from Memphis and Onita.

----Johnny Legend described as “Singer - actor - wrestling promoter - horror archivist - porn producer Johnny Legend exists in a bizarre cultural vortex whose undertows perpetually whirl him into an episodic cycle of shenanigans that just get curiouser and curiouser. The wild-eyed, weird-bearded, longhaired dynamo, internationally known as the Rockabilly Rasputin, is a manic force, one you can find at just about every unsavory corner of the Hollywood underground” can be blamed for bringing a cult wrestling promotion to life called Incredibly Strange Wrestling in California. They released a “best of” video titled “Blood, Sweat, and Urine” in 1995, so that might sum up the insane stuff this promotion was doing. Their roster featured names like “The Poontangler”, “Jesus Cross” and “Dennis Erectus”. I can’t remember exactly which wrestler it was, but one guy when he was down would have his valet come over and squat over his face and pee to wake him up. Yes, it was strange.

THE FACTS

----“Sex and Violence” is a mixture of everything that I have talked about above. Tony Myers is a guy who has paid his dues more than any worker in this area. I have heard some of the young guys criticize him and then when I watch them work they have no freakin idea. This brainchild is a hybrid of frustration that Myers has created from being totally sick of wrestling in general to idolizing legends like Onita and Terry Funk. And, finally, trying to bring something different to the table that draws a crowd to a bar. No it is not wrestling in its current form. It is not there to be dissected. It is there to entertain the core crowd that it will draw. 100 people packed into that building at $7 cover and a gate close to $700 to watch the bands and a death match. That is about the normal draw for traditional wrestling in this area.

THE BANDS

----Two fun bands opened the show. “The Vacant” came out first and had a colorful guitar player and the crowd seemed to really like them. “Area 69” was next and they were decent also. The lead singer looked liked an “alien” Pink with makeup of some kind making it look like she had blood coming out of her eyes. Kewl gimmick!! Apparently the Ralley Point is more of heavy metal club, which tailors to the goth crowd for these events.

THE RING

----The area that was considered “the ring” was a barbwire roped off section of the club. It was easily not even the size of a ring. They had various objects hanging from the ceiling including a skill saw, battery cables, a sword, barbwire and various other crazy stuff. On the right side of the area was florescent bulbs, boards, glass, big sheets of wood, signs and more lined up against the wall.

THE MATCHES

----Al Hall was the special ref for the main event and opened the show announcing the first match. He was funny as hell. It was almost like watching a mini comedy routine with him talking about how the goth crowd looked and what kind of people they let in the building.

----Chair vs Pepper The Dog never got started as Lance Chaser came out decked in a three piece suit with a suitcase saying that this kind of stuff would not happen. Psycho & Fort Goth followed with Psycho surprisingly talking on the mic and even getting to say “fuck”. LOL The death match was made later on for the next with Chair being added to the match. Oh yea, btw, Chair is a…chair. LOL No shit. And Chair was super over with the crowd chanting “Chair, Chair”!! Chaser was real good here on the mic. Chair came out to Ric Flair’s theme. Oh yea – Pepper was a real dog. LOL

----Jessica “Fucks Like” Rabbit beat Synderella, Caty Boss, Cunt Face Lucy and Damian’s Little Sister in the Cereal Killer Girls Cash Prize Match. They took a kid’s swimming pool and filled it with milk & Cherrios cereal. Could they have used Fruit Loops?? LOL Cherrios just have a real weird smell. This was pretty much the T&A part of the show with slight shots every once in awhile. The girls were fighting for $100, so it was almost like a shoot. Rabbit and Sister were my two favorites.

THE DEATH MATCH

----Fort Goth beat Psycho & “the Ambu” Lance Chaser [Myers] & Chair to retain the “Sick Fuck” Title in a Death Match. Instead of describing this as a match I am just going to try to list all the crazy shit that happened during it.

-Psycho got a good pop. I guess this kind of crowd loved his freakishness.

-Goth took a bulb in Chaser’s mouth – and then slammed the end of it with it busting in the air.

-Chaser ended up wrestling without a shirt – he was covered on back, face and elbows in blood.

-Goth sent Chaser into the wall of bulbs and his whole back was cut up.

-When Psycho bladed, the crowd popped for it. And Psycho feed to all the cameras.

-The ref – Johnny Lush – took one of the nastiest bumps I have ever seen. Chaser picked him up for a powerbomb, but Lush never pulled his head up. His neck looked as if it was just broke when he went down.

-At the 30 minute mark there had only been about 3 actual wrestling moves.

-Goth took a pruning type with two sharp ends and squeezed & cut Chaser’s arm.

-Chaser lit a block of firecrackers on Goth. Smoke went everywhere.

-Chaser set it up and Psycho powerbomb Goth thru a table with bulbs and a chair.

-Goth was at one point covered with a church sign and some much other debris that you could not even see him. I thought he was dead.

-Psycho took a hard shot to the head with a wooden cross that rocked him for a while.

-Psycho down, Chaser put a satellite receiver on his back and then proceeded to take a golf club and swing as hard as he could. Psycho later said he tasted blood when that happened.

-At about the 40 minute mark [which should have been close to finish] Psycho laid down to rest stomach first. Goth and Chaser kept hitting him and wouldn’t leave him alone.

-Psycho tore a chair up over Chaser’s head.

-The crowd started disbursing around the area after about 45 minutes. There were probably about 20 left watching the match towards the end.

-Psycho ended up being put thru a table and being pinned by Goth about 50 minutes into the match.

-Goth took a panel of glass over his back.

-I think Goth got cut once with the hanging sword, which Chaser tried to get down, but couldn’t. I was glad he didn’t. I could just see someone getting stabbed.

-I swear at one point Chaser was trying to get the skill saw plugged in. Another good thing that he couldn’t get power to it.

-Finally at the 67 minute mark the finish had the announcer pour lighter fluid on a table that also had firecrackers on it. He lit it as Chaser and Goth fought for position on another table. Goth push Chaser onto the flaming table of firecrackers and then did a swanton for the pin on Chaser. He then got Chair and put it over Chaser and pinned chair to win the match.

[***1/2] – for the just brutal uniqueness of the match. It was not wrestling, but I was entertained.

AFTERMATH

----Johnny Lush was trying to find his shoes walking in glass and light bulbs looking under everything…Psycho came out of it pretty good with some scaring on his arms and neck. He was too sore to wrestle for NBW the next night…Myers’ wife was picking bulb glass all out of his back. It was nasty bad…Goth was covered in blood, but still was in gimmick. I think most of the blood with Chaser’s blood…Chair didn’t do much in the match and come of it with the least scars…I talked with Rabbit/Sister after the match and they were VERY entertaining.

FINAL NOTES

I thought I would get “looked at” in club like this with me being 40 and not Goth, but it was one of the coolest crowds of people. Totally laid back…One guy at the bar, who was much older than me, said I looked like Michael Moore…Wrestling alumni that were attendance – Michael Ward, Blalock the Blazer, Rashard Devon, Marcus O’Neil…I would like the thank the cast and crew of the The Ralley Point for their hospitality and just being really kewl group of people…Fun time was had by all.

Corrente/Lawler Coverage from WMCTV.com

Assault charges filed against Memphis wrestler

The man who filed assault charges against wrestler Jerry "The King" Lawler is telling his side of the story.

Sal "Big Cheese" Corrente says he suffers from back and neck pain after Lawler punched him during a wrestling match in Tunica.

Corrente has hired a lawyer and now he wants Lawler to pay. Lawler is now a wanted man in Mississippi.
"Jerry Lawler is trying to take the fact that wrestling is a worked, choreographed production and he's trying to bluff the people of Memphis," said Corrente.

Corrente filed assault charges against Lawler saying the King sucker-punched him in a completely unscripted encounter in June.

But Lawler said it's a common thing they do in wrestling. He saw Corrente incite fans, and Lawler, in turn, decided to play off the crowd punching Corrente, but says it's no different from any of his thousands of other fights.

"Never once have I had another performer on the show, wrestler or manager, try to file charges because they said I hit too hard. If I were him I'd be embarrassed," said Lawler.

But Corrente says that's exactly what he thinks Lawler's plan is -- to make a fool of him.

Corrente added, "it's bad enough I've been assaulted now they're trying to publicly humiliate me. Their story is not true. My story is the truth."
He said Lawler is making this one huge publicity stunt.

Corrente said they're doing anything they can to get crowds in the arena but Lawler blames "The Cheese" for the same thing.

Lawler's next wrestling event is scheduled for July 20th in Tunica where authorities say they'll be serving him papers.

Lawler said he's not scared, "no, I'm not nervous about it -it's so absurd," he added.

Lawler's next wrestling event is scheduled for July 20-th in Tunica -- where authorities say they'll be serving him papers.

Corrente says he won't be there.

It also featured the second highest quarter of the year with the 2cnd quarter jumping over 25,000 viewers for a 4.8 [80251 viewers], which was just 840 less viewers than the biggest quarter of 1.27.07. The bad news is the fourth quarter took a horrible drop of 18,804 viewers, BUT they actually ended their show with more viewers than they started with. It will be interesting to see if they can follow thru with another good rating, since the trend has been the ratings are bad after a good week. RassleResults: MEWA Batesville, AR 7.14.07 - Eric Wayne Claims He Is The Best Yet.

The show opens with Eric Wayne demanding some mic. Time, he came out and talked about how he has an open title shot at any M.E.W.A title at anytime he chooses. He stated that he is a third generation wrestler, and he is the best wrestler to come out of the great Wayne family yet. Eric Wayne said he will destroy all the #1 contenders in M.E.W.A and the he will decide which title he wants to have, be it the Heavy Weight Title, the Light Weight Title or even the World Tag Team Titles.

The First Match of the night was “Dangerous” Dave Cox {One half of the M.E.W.A. World Tag Team Champions} with Johnny Harper in his corner taking on “The Southern Submission Machine” Wild Bill. Cox used all the dirty little trick’s he has learn over the years in wrestling. These two men had a very hard fought battle, and at one time Cox throwing Wild Bill outside the ring for Harper to beat on while he keep the Ref.’s back to it, but Harper just looked away and left Wild Bill alone. In the end Wild Bill was able to get the win in 13:10, now that Wild Bill has beat one half of the tag team champions, will he get a partner and go for the tag team gold?

The Second Match was Kid Nickels against Big Al. Kid wasted no time working on Al’s injured leg, hitting, kicking, stomping and even using the ring ropes to his advantage during the match. Al tried to fight off Kid, but his leg keeps giving him trouble, but in the end it was Kid Nickels getting the win 9:38.

The Third Match of the night was for the M.E.W.A Light Heavy Title Match. The Champion, “Mr. Playboy” Tommy Wayne being challenged by “Hot Rod” John Ellison {One half of the M.E.W.A. World Tag Team Champions} with Johnny Harper in corner. This was a very hard fought battle back and fourth. Neither man was able to get the upper hand, at one point Hot Rod picked up Tommy for a body slam, and accidentally knocking the Ref. out; Ellison got the M.E.W.A Light Heavy Title and knocked Tommy out with the belt. Harper then came into the ring and counted to three, making Hot Rod believe he had won, but when he stood up Harper came him a Double-Under Arm D.D.T. He then pulled Tommy on top on Ellison to get the win in 12:53. After the match Dave Cox came to ring and Ellison and Cox both confronted Harper about his actions, they tried to beat him down, but Harper did a Double Clothesline and then got out of the ring. As Harper left the ring area the fans were standing and chatting his name, in agreement with his actions. This could be a very bad feud coming with three veterans like this.

The Semi-Main Event was Eric Wayne Taking on “The Suicide King” Ray Ray. Wayne was out to prove what he has said earlier in the night about him being the best Wayne yet, and Ray Ray always willing to do what it takes to win. These two men hit each other with everything, from a drop-kick on the outside Ray gave Wayne, to Wayne giving Ray a Back Cracker, to Ray hitting a 619. Neither one of these men was going to back down, but in the end Wayne was able to get the win in 12:47.

The Main Event was a Non-Title match between the Casino Kid taking on “Crazy” Luke Graham Jr. The match stated off with both men going at it toe-to-toe, but Graham came with a game plan of using some of his famous dirty tricks he knows. Graham picked up the M.E.W.A World Heavy Weight Title Belt and tossed it to Casino, while jumping on to the ring and acting as if Casino had used the belt to hit him. The Ref. turned around and seen Casino with the belt and Graham on the mat rolling in pain holding his head, he no choice but to award the match to “Crazy” Luke Graham Jr. in a short time of 4:07. The fans at ringside along with the Casino Kid tried to explain what happened to the Ref. but he would not reverse his decision. Casino Kid has demanded that the M.E.W.A commission review this and he revenge.

The Heat caused the stands to be a little less this week with 262 in the stands.

"The Golden Boy' Greg Anthony comes out in a party hat, throwing confetti, when Mark Tipton didn't know what the party was for TGB got angry and informed Tipton that tomorrow was The Golden Boy's 100th Day as TLCW Champion! BLS & WALKER LEAVE TIWF!!

----I just wanted to make note, after reading the NBW report, that “Black Label Society” [AJ Bradley/Void/Robbie] signing with NBW is a major boost for NBW. This is a great team and a good gimmick. It is also a major letdown for TIWF, who had their tag champs and TV champ stolen from them. Allen Walker is also is no longer with TIWF as booker. There has been lots going on backstage and with the TIWF organization as a whole. Sometime this week I will sit down with Allen Wallker for an one on one SHOOT interview talking about the jump from TIWF to NBW. It will be one of our first PODCAST features of the site along with the Sal Corrente feature on Wednesday. This upcoming week looks like a lot of fun!!

Memphis Wrestling TV Report 7.14.07

----Memphis Wrestling opens with Corey Maclin and a jam packed TV crowd. Maclin puts over Scott Bowden's "Kentucky Fried Rasslin". Scott Bowden came out for an interview talking about how Lawler use to hit him "way too hard". Bowden said he got a call from the Big Cheese and he has arranged some lawyers to help him. Bowden said that the Big Cheese sent him to deliver a message. Lawler says why not give the Big Cheese a message for me and slugs Bowden. He then takes Bowden into the ring and hits him a couple more times, and then does the fist drop on him.

----Kevin White comes out with the Spellbinder's skull with Mr. White and The Agents. He says, "I sent Bill Dundee back to Australia" and now I got Spell's skull. White over Chris Lexx. White started heat when K.Hill held the top rope and he went over the top rope. Lexx started comeback, but he cut him off. He draped Lexx over the ropes in the middle of the ring and then jumped from the second turnbuckle with an elbow smash sending Lexx over the ropes into the ring. White then used his tights to pin him.

----Corey wanted to know what White had done to Spellbinder. They said they had him tied up in the back. When they got back there, it was Mr. White with a Spell mask tied up and holding a sign saying "See You At Sam's Town". A very good skit.

----"Hollywood" Jimmy brought out three painting [by David Burcham – a writer for Jimmy’s web site]. One was him being arrested and him crying. Jimmy started talking about special treatment in jails in Memphis - he had Lawler with "jailrats" and Lawler sitting on his throne. LOL The third painting was Lawler with "Big Bubba". This was real funny. Lawler comes out and starts punching Blaylock. Johnny Rotten walks out and jumps Lawler. Corey sells it hard - "that is Johnny Rotten!!" Lawler pulls down his strap and makes his comeback. Sid Vicious comes up behind him and then chokes him and slams him down with a leg sweep. Vicious then makes Hollywood Jimmy leave the ring. Rotten takes photos of Sid with a beaten Lawler with his cell phone. Security comes out to help Lawler. Maclin sold this so good!! Great freakin angle!! Crowd was hot!!

----Sam's Town show: "Hot Summer Nights" 8:00 PM bell time 1st 500 recceive free concession voucher..MIB vs NBN...Southern TT: TC2 vs Tatt2/Starr..White vs Spellbinder..TLC: Dotson vs DK...15 Man Battle Royal with $5,000 to the winner…Jerry Lawler vs Sid Vicious

----Sid Vicious does interview backstage with a red light on him and Rotten standing behind him. It was a strange interview. Not good, not bad. He was just very quite telling Lawler that after their bout, Lawler will say he is the Master.

----Mr. Hughes came out to talk about the battle Royal. He said, "I would slapped my momma for $5,000"..LOL Mr. Hughes beat Charlie Lear in a squash.

----"Too Cool 2" [Tim Grind/Flex] comes out for interview. Great interview - both guys are in great shape!! Tatt2/Dustin Starr come out and jumped them. Starr hits Grind with a chair and Tatt2 with a wet floor sign. Crowd was hot for this. Starr told him that they were serious and Tatt2 said, "Smooooooooooth Turkey!!!" LOL Another good angle.
----Lawler comes out for an interview. He talks about Sid wanting to make a WWE comeback and trying to walk over him on his way going. I am going to show up at "Sam's Town". Good interview.

----Johnny Dotson interview. Dotson beat Shawn Shultz by DQ when Derrick King interfered and superkicked Shultz. Another real good match between these two guys. I have no idea what direction these guys are going in, but it should be Shultz vs Dotson for the JR Title.

----Sam Shaw/Cameron Valentine were in the middle of the ring waiting to start a bout when Rotten/Vicious jumped them. Corey Maclin left as Rotten/Vicious take over the show.

----Notes: Scott Bowden is so good on the mic. I wished he would have been able to make a living doing wrestling. He is just so entertaining…You know only in wrestling do you turn a real situation into an angle?? The new promo for the Sam's Town show has the headlines of "Lawler gets arrested”...Ironic that I was talking with a friend right before wrestling aired and said, "It would be funny if they showed the Agents putting Spell in the trunk of the car, but when the car stopped, he had disappeared."...Jimmy’s paintings were so funny. Good stuff...Mr. Hughes was originally scheduled to wrestle Lawler in the main again...It has been a long time since Lear has been on Memphis Wrestling...Maclin mentions that the Boys and Girls Club was with them for the day in the crowd - very hot crowd!! He needs to invite them every week…This was easily the best Memphis Wrestling show this year. Action packed with angles and surprises. Corey Maclin was on the “top of his game” also and did a great job presenting everything and putting over Sid.

-----Check out the site for an exclusive interview with Sal Corrente coming this Wednesday, which should shed some light on the Lawler/Corrente story.

RassleResults: NBW, Dyersburg TN, 7.14.07 - NBW GETS INVADED!

About 5 minutes before the show officially started, TIWF Tag-Team Champions, The Black Label Society and the TIWF TV Champion Void came in to watch the show, making a scene but stating that they was just there as spectators.

The show opens up with "Upset Kid" Jeremy Moore coming to the ring and asking for the mic. Moore said that everyone that was there last week saw what happened between him and Slim Pickens. Slim came out and got in the ring with Moore. Moore said that he would receive his rematch, but not tonight because he has bigger fish to fry. Moore then said that he had a Lucky Tournament match tonight against the man who cost him his High Risk title, Gaylon Ray. Gaylon Ray and NBW commissioner Jimmy Tidwell came out to ringside with Tidwell getting the mic and said that there has been a lot of matches between Ray and Moore and that there has never really been a decisive winner, so for the tournament match, Tidwell made himself the special referee.

"Real Deal" Tim Edwards defeated Crazy Train.
Cazy Train got a good comeback towards the end for a loud pop, but Edwards caught him with "REDRUM" and got the pin.
After the match, Edwards started beating on Crazy Train and was trying to injure the left arm just like he did Kilo the week before, until Kilo came out for the save with his arm in a sling and a metal chair.

The Entourage came to the ring next for an interview. The NBW Hardcore champion which J DUB now refers to as the "Hollywood Heavyweight title" is the leader of this outfit and is the stick man. J DUB told the crowd that he was not going to be able to compete in a match because he injured his finger on set in Hollywood this past week but not to worry, he had someone to take his place. J DUB said that his Entourage has doubled since last week and he was going to introduce its newest member and his replacement for the match. Out comes "Playboy" Tommy Love. J DUB states that everyone wants to be part of his Entourage but it is a very premiere group and only the select few are able to become a part of it. J DUB told Tommy Love that his match tonight was as a replacement for himself in the Lucky 7 Tournament and that he had better not screw it up. The Entourage now includes J DUB, Gunner Thompson, Tommy Love and Tojo Jr.

"Playboy" Tommy Love defeated Big Red
after much interference by the Entourage, Red had had enough and started hitting anything that moved towards him and Tommy Love took advantage and rolled him up securing J DUB's spot and advancing him in the tournament.
after the match The Entourage all got in the ring and started beating Red down. Lil' Tim Alfonzo came out and went right after J DUB until the rest of the Entourage cut him off. J DUB got on the mic and told Alfonzo not to go anywhere, because his opponent was already in the ring.

No DQ Match
Lil' Tim Alfonzo defeated Tojo Jr.
Tojo held Alfonzo up so that his valet Diabla could spray hairspray in Alfonzo's eyes but Alfonzo ducked and Diabla misted Tojo instead resulting in Alfonzo getting the pin.

Team X (Gryffon & Phoenix) defeated NBW Tag-Team Champions The Treat Connection (San Francisco Treat & Loose Cannon) w/ Buckwheat by Disqualification
when Buckwheat interfered and attacked Team X with the tag belts. Treat & Cannon put a beating on Team X and was trying to tear their masks off when Slim Pickens, Tim Alfonzo and Tank made the save.

NBW Announcer Rob Thompson called out NBW Heavyweight Champion "Southern Outlaw" Kilo to the ring for an interview. Kilo stated that after last weeks attack by Tim Edwards, Kilo suffered a partially separated rotator cuff and a cracked jawbone and was not cleared to wrestle. All the while, The Black Label Society, who was still sitting ringside, was poking fun at Kilo telling him he was a wuss and a crybaby and just made a complete disaster of the interview.
Kilo asked BLS "Aren't you a little lost? Shouldn't you be down the road about 40 miles working for The Ignorant Wrestling Federation?" Kilo then told NBW security that they obviously had something to say, and to let them in the ring. BLS told Kilo that they came to watch the show because they heard that they had good wrestlers and was becoming a real good company, but from what are hearing now, it seems to them that all NBW is full of is a bunch of crybabies. Kilo told BLS that if they wanted to see crybabies, to look at themselves in the mirror because he is not the ones complaining about where they work. BLS member A.J. Bradley told Kilo that if he was such a champion and wanted to defend his company then he wouldn't have a problem taking him on later in the night. Kilo stated that regardless of what the doctors told him he would accept Bradley's challenge and that when he was done with him, he would sen him packing back down the road back to where he came from. NBW Commissioner Jimmy Tidwell made the match a non-sanctioned event because BLS are not under contract with NBW and NBW would not be held responsible for what happens.

"Fabulous" Chris Rocker went to a time limit draw with NBW High Risk Champion Slim "the Bulldog" Pickens.
there was 10 seconds left in the match and the referee counted 3 for Rocker who had just hit Pickens with a frogsplash. the referee for this match was on the opposite side of where Pickens shoulder came up and did not see it. NBW Commissioner Jimmy Tidwell came out to the ringside area and told the referee what had occured. The referee stood his ground and would not reverse the decision. Rocker got the mic and said I am going to make this real simple. he then asked Slim "Did you kick out?" Slim said yes, Rocker handed him the belt back and told him "Good Match Kid".

"The One Man Wrecking Crew" Tank defeated "Straight Shooter" Gunner Thompson to advance in the Lucky 7 Tournament.
The Entourage was at ringside with Thompson for a distraction. Tank gave Thomspon a bodyslam and hit the ropes but J DUB grabbed his foot and Thompson clipped Tanks left leg sending him down to the mat. After several minutes of working the leg over and Tank kicking out of everything, Thompson called for J DUB to get on the ring apron. With belt in hand J DUB got on the apron. Thompson grabbed a go behind on Tank and ran him towards the waiting J DUB, but Tank ducked, Thompson nailed Gunner with the belt, Tank knocked J DUB off the apron and splashed Thompson for the win.

Special Referee NBW Commissioner Jimmy Tidwell
"Pretty Sexy" Gaylon Ray defeated "Upset Kid" Jeremy Moore to advance in the Lucky 7 Tournament.
Tidwell refused to make the count whenever Moore had Ray down but counted fast for Ray whenever he had Moore. Moore hit an "RKO" but Tidwell counted slow enough for a normal ref to make it to 20 and Ray kicked out. Moore was arguing with Tidwell while Ray went into his boot. Ray turned Moore around and nailed him with a pair of Brass knucks and Tidwell made a fast count securing Ray's advancement in the tournament.
for some odd reason Gaylon Ray is Tidwell's chosen one and the way he sees it is if Ray has the Heavyweight title, and him being commissioner, then they will have NBW by the throat.

NBW Heavyweight Champion "Southern Outlaw" Kilo defeated "BLS Member" A.J. Bradley by disqualification when the rest of Black Label Society jumped in and attacked the champion.
Rocker & Red came out and ran BLS out the back door, meanwhile, Tim Edwards and the returning Mark Justice came to the ring and attacked Kilo. Justice held Kilo's already injured arm while Edwards got the mic challenging Kilo to a match at VENDETTA 2 weeks away for the Heavyweight title. Edwards then delivered a dropkick to the arm that Justice was holding. Tank ran to the ring and Edwards left but Justice and Tank locked up going toe to toe finally with Justice bumping out of the ring walking away with Edwards.

After that, Rocker, Red, Tank & Kilo were left in the ring when BLS came back in for some more. Rocker got the mic and asked for Tidwell to come out. Rocker told Tidwell that he may not like any of them, but he does still work for NBW, but BLS don't. Rocker asked Tidwell to sign BLS to NBW contracts and set up a 6-Man tag for next week. Rocker, Red & Kilo vs BLS. Tidwell told BLS that as bad as he wants to help the good guys, he really has no choice. BLS can either sign a contract with NBW and accept the match or be banned from the building and go back to where they came from. BLS agreed and the match is on for next week.
NBW has officially acquired 3 champions from a rival company. The Black Label Society.

Notes: Crowd was around 80 with a gate close to $500 with almost 100 people in the building.
Crowd was HOT all night.
NBW Board of Directors brought back Allen Walker as Co-Commissioner.
Matches already announced for VENDETTA on July 28Th are.......Heavyweight Title Match "Southern Outlaw" Kilo vs. "Real Deal" Tim Edwards.....Masks vs Tag-Titles/Team X vs. Treat Connection.....Finals of the Lucky 7 Tournament where the winner receives a Heavyweight Title match at LEGACY, NBW's 1 year Anniversary show.....Hardcore Title Match "Hollywood HeartThrob" J DUB vs. Lil' Tim Alfonzo........and more to come.
