POB in TLCW TONIGHT!!!

----I just got a call to confirm that POB will be in TLCW tonight!! It looks like they are on a course to go against TLCW Tag Team Champions "Hot Topic" [Derrick King/Stan Lee] in the end.

----Photo above is from last Friday night's [3.14.08] MCW show in Osceola, AR. "East Coast Bad Boys" [Serpent/C-Money]/Big Daddy LaFonce wrestled POB in a 6-man. It ended with C-Money turning on Serpent. Last night, C-Money turned back when POB tried to get him to hit Serpent with a chain and he refused - POB just beat him up for not helping. Spiro interfered in the match and ended up getting pinned in a "loser pinned has to retire" match, so Spiro is officially retired now. Next Friday night for the MCW Tag Team Titles: POB vs Serpent/C-Money.

for the count out.

Superman Jason Reed took advantage of Weasel's lack of
experience by talking him into accepting a handicap match.
Just before the match, Reed revealed that Weasel would be
facing a team that consisted of a total of seven men.

----The attendance was about 60-65. I was told 20 by another source...This was the first meeting of RRO Wrestler of the Year 2006/2007 Derrick King vs Eric Wayne. During Wayne's graduation match, Wayne thanked DK for giving him his first chance in the business as a ref. I was told it was a good match. Picture not that clear, but it was taken right after a DK superkick.

After he was eliminated from the Battle Royal, he injured Chris O'Neal by hanging him in the "Tree of Woe" on the outside of the ropes and repeatedly splashing him up against the turnbuckles. Then he joined Cody Melton and Dell Tucker in an attack on the injured Slim Pickens during an in ring interview.

The attendance was about 115-120.

LAW LOCKER ROOM ALTERCATION!!!

----Big news coming out of LAW in Rector, AR tonight with a backstage altercation with Arnez and Johnny Vinyl[pictured]. Allegedly Vinyl pushed Arnez’ son during his match which was described to me as “shoved him back into the chair and almost bent him in half.” Vinyl walks to the back and then, “then Arnez came out of no where and clocked him.” Vinyl was hit hard and was bleeding. Arnez’ son was complaining of his back hurting after the incident. Arnez, who helps with basic repairs of the building and trains for LAW, had his key to the building taken from him and looks to be done with LAW.

----In other news tonight, referee Miles Murphy and Rebecca Raze announced their retirement from the business. Miles apparently juiced on his night out. I should have full results of the show sometime early this week.

Maclin/WWE Court Date Is Set!!

----Lawler stated in a talk with RRO just a weeks back that he thought the Maclin/WWE lawsuit had been dropped. I had a few people write or call to dispute that, but we have it confirmed now. The following was posted by Mike Johnson on www.pwinsider.com --

Corey Maclin and Memphis Wrestling's lawsuit against World Wrestling Entertainment alleging that the company damaged their huge show featuring Hulk Hogan last year by pulling Jerry Lawler off the show, is set to go to trial on 3/2/2009.

RassleResults: Knoxville War Heats Up!!

----It looks like they are having a war of sorts in the Knoxville area with two promoters promoting on the same night only 5 miles apart. Here are the results taken from the TN Indy Zone board. Some very familiar names to this area on both shows.

EWP
Green Acres Flea Market Knoxville TN

Edward Idol defeated Juggalo Billy Marshall with a figure four. Referee seemed VERY LOST and so DRI hit the ring. Took out the ref and let the Platinum Kings know they just witnessed what was to come later in the night.

Menace pinned Scotty Atomic

Donovan Daniels pinned Wayne Adkins after using a chain.

Shane Williams defeated some nobody in 15 secs. Then The Naturals music hit and Andy Douglas showed up unannounced. Williams and Douglas beat the crap out of each other but Douglas got the pin in the end. Post match these two brawled in the crowd and back to the ring before they were finally broken up.

Jeff Anderson defeated Beau James after Special Guest Referee TYSON DALY disqualified Beau. Anderson then cut a GOOD promo on James.

Platinum Kings took a page out of Eddie Guerrero's book when they defeated Death Row Inmates. Tony Lucassio got in the ring and tossed a chair to Jason Maxx. Referee turned around and caught Maxx with the chair and Robbie Race on the mat. DQ

Sigmon pinned The Rip. Donovan Daniels hit the ring and helped Rip beat up Sigmon. Wayne Adkins made the save. The RIP then cut a GREAT promo on Sigmon and challenged Sigmon and Adkins to match next week against himself and Donovan. It was accepted....Rip then said he'd see Sigmon at KAPOW on Sat??????

A Piece of my Mind March 21st 2008 by "The Big Cheese" Sal Corrente

In my travels through airports this week I saw Playboy magazine and Maria on the cover. It brought to mind Karen Angle. I believe that if Karen Angle was in WWE Hugh Hefner would be all over her to pose for the magazine. I have never met her but I have inquired and she seems to come up with positive reviews as a human being. It’s a shame that the TNA Company doesn’t have the machine behind them. There is money to be made from the right divas and I think that Karen Angle could easily be the right diva.

While I was on the road the other night I got a chance to watch the AWA on ESPN Classics. I am certainly waiting for the shows that I was a part of to be on. In the mean time I want to watch them any chance that I get. I had the chance to see a tag match between “Playboy” Buddy Rose, “Pretty Boy” Doug Somers and Alexis Smirnoff managed by Sherri Martel vs. Shawn Michaels, Marty Janetty and Curt Henning. It did my heart good to see a match like this. I have had the pleasure to be in the ring with everyone involved in the match except Alexis Smirnoff that I can remember. I even worked a tag match with The Midnight Rockers vs. Rose and Somers. The match was so easy. In those days almost everyone that you worked with really got it.

I don’t understand why matches like this don’t exist anymore. This was the business that I got in to and loved. Of course we are aware of the careers of the guys that were in the match. It’s really interesting to see how these guys turned out. I had Playboy Buddy Rose on WrestleReunion 1 in Tampa. He was so much larger at WR1 than when he was a huge star in Portland and in the AWA. I got many more chances to work with Doug Somers over the years and with Curt Henning as well. What a tragedy that Curt had to die. What an incredible talent he was. I had Marty Janetty on WrestleReunion 1. After many ups and downs over the years, Marty performed so well in his match with Gorgeous Gary Royal that I believe all the publicity he got from our show helped him to get another shot with WWE. These guys all made me feel good about wrestling this week. I am very grateful to them for that.

Well its Wrestlemania time and for the first time I can say "who cares"? I think this Wrestlemania card is just one big dud. I hope that I am wrong and I truly hope that we are all being swerved and Ric Flair doesn’t actually retire. In my next article I will talk about Flair and what I would do with him. I would have done that this week but I really had to write about the AWA.

The picture in this article is of Richie Blood. Some of you might know him better as Ricky Steamboat Jr and “Carolinas Own” David Isley (Thunderfoot #1). I have known Richie since he was a young boy. Who knows, perhaps he will one day step into the ring, maybe he wont. I did see him wrestle Reid Flair once in an amateur match and I thought wouldn’t it be funny if twenty years from now we are watching Flair vs. Steamboat the next generation.

This has been a piece of my mind

Flashback!! 8.14.04 & 8.28.04

Art of a Promo III

----This flashback features two promos from Terry Funk – it has the 8.14 and 8.28.04 promos. I am having some technical difficulties so I had to “borrow” this from a video already posted on youtube.com. After you watch this, you will think Funk is a total nut and you believe he is going to try to kill Jerry Lawler. I don’t believe the whole 8.21.04 promo airs and I will post the complete transcript of it in next week’s Flashback. The week after that, I will go over the full results of the 8.28.04 Throwback II show with complete gate and thoughts from Funk’s book about it. Funk talks about these promos here talking about them being half-shoots. The people believed!!

“Good promos are half-shoots, all the time. In order to do a good promos, you have to ready to damn near shoot. There’s an artistry to it – you have to live, breathe and believe what you’re saying and doing.”

“Junior and I also had a long feud with the Brisco brothers that played off of the same type of thing. It went back to our families – we claimed they were trying to dominate wrestling, and that we were the one, truly great family in the profession.”

The Ratings: Memphis Wrestling TV 3.15.08 - LOWEST RATING EVER!!!!

----It does not surprise me that I am writing this, but Saturday night’s Memphis Wrestling show scored the lowest rating EVER with a 1.1 [19,139 viewers] rating. The first and second quarters are the two lowest quarters I have ever seen ratings. The first 30 minutes of the show was seen by an average of 13,851 viewers. That is so sad. The Funk interview was in the highest rated quarter with 30,388 viewers. Nothing else good can be said about this rating. The fans have turned it off and if they don’t do something fast, then when they do start airing new shows, it is going to take a lot to get them back.

Southern All-Star Wrestling - Episode 36

Airdate March 15, 2008 on Comcast 74 in Nashville
Taped on February 29, 2008 at the SAW Arena in Millersville, Tn

Showtime All-star Wrestling is now available on the internet at thesuperstation.tv/saw.html.

Dramatic music. No voiceover. The video speaks for itself---Southern All-star Wrestling promoter T. J. Weatherby presents Showtime All-star Wrestling.

LAST WEEK! Miss Boogie thwarts interference by “Towel Boy” Paul Adams. Boogie Boy then pins Rick Santel with Boogie Blaster…Paul says something needs to be done around here to settle things between him and her…Chrisjen Hayme makes a spectacular debut winning with a 450 splash…The Tennessee Violence Authority hits the ring on Arrick Andrews. Boogie made the save with a one on two shellacking of TVA. Santel joined the party and it was Boogie beatdown…Rookie Drew Haskins upsets Big Rig Bully with a roll up…Tatsu nails TV Champion Nore Havoc with bicycle kick. He pulls off the mask to reveal your new SAW Television Champion, Damian Adams.

Michael St. John and Jack Johnson did the opening with a gigantic new Showtime All-star Wrestling logo as the background. The tag line now has St. John saying “It’s Showtime” before Johnson’s “SAW starts now!”

...Tto the ring with a new look - Bleachers on the hard camera side. A new entrance ramp. Softer lighting.

(1) Damian Adams beat Big Rig Bully to retain the SAW TV Title in 5:45. St. John referred to Bully as “an 0 for.” Damian kicked off the ropes for a flashy side headlock takeover, Damian went for it again and Bully countered with a back suplex. As Bully worked over Damian’s back, St. John said he wasn’t making his pin attempts quickly enough. Johnson once again pointed out that Bully has all the tools but is in need of some managerial guidance. Bully executed a painful looking double leg drop to Damian’s lower back followed by stiff kicks. Johnson called it the chiropractic combo. Surfboard submission attempt by Bully. Blistering chop by Damian. Bully cut Damian short with a high leg lariat, but paused to showboat before making the cover. Bully planted Damian with a pretty hanging vertical suplex. Lazy back cover and Damian kicked out again. Bully came up empty on a middle rope double ax where he took waaaayyyy too much time, then managed to duck Damian’s bicycle kick and set up a piledriver. Damian backdropped out of it and hit the bicycle kick. Bully sold it like he was paralyzed. 1-2-3.

March 21 at the SAW Arena in Millersville featuring 6 big matches! Already signed J-5 (c) (with Cocky Cody) vs. Chris Bomb for the Southern Heavyweight Title, Big Rig Bully vs. T. J. Harley and in your main event the TVA (with Paul Adams) takes on Boogie Woogie Boy & Arrick Andrews.

(2) Mason Raige beat Larry Cooter via submission with the Rack of Rage (5:26). Cooter acted like a jerk. Raige dominated with the power game until the 2:30 mark when he miscalculated on an elbow drop. St. John and Johnson made fun of the fact Cooter was losing his tights.

The one thing you have to learn in wrestling early on. Keep your pants up. I don’t know what level you learn that on, or whatever but you have to keep you clothes on in the ring.

Cooter used basic choke and gouge offense. Raige caught an airborne Cooter with a body slam. He followed with a clubbing lariat, a high boot and a missile dropkick before ending it with the torture rack.

(3) Rob Roy McCoy beat Tatsu via submission in 5:53. Johnson called it an international match: Scotland vs. the Orient. St. John said the difference between a Scottish accent and a British accent was “Scottish accents are watered down with a better grade of whiskey.” They compared Tatsu to a Pekinese that got caught in a blender with a pack of 64 crayons. McCoy capitalized on Tatsu’s aggressiveness with a hotshot. McCoy used the ropes for leverage on the pin attempt but ref Kurt Herron caught him. McCoy hit a swinging neckbreaker and applied a variation of the camel clutch. McCoy nutted himself on Tatsu’s knees. Tatsu hit a spinning heel kick for a two count, and got blindsided by McCoy when he complained about the count. Another dumb move by a babyface. McCoy hit a hangman neckbreaker. McCoy was laying in wait as Tatsu was slow to rise. McCoy locked in a choke/bodyscissors combo for the tap.

Johnson interviewed McCoy, who said he was superior to the toothless heathens in the audience. McCoy claimed his bloodline could be traced to the last King of Scotland. Said the Highlander and Braveheart types were pretenders to his throne - “I’m Rob Roy McCoy, the real McCoy, and the only one.”

(4) T. J. Harley beat “Sharp Dressed Man” Lawrence Lane in 2:45. The commentators ridiculed Lane’s yesterday’s news outfit. Fast-paced start. Harley came out on top. Lane wanted none of it. Harley in hot pursuit. Lane jumped back inside and Harley fell into his trap. Not a smart move for the babyface. Lane connected with a razor sharp back elbow and applied a rear chinlock. Harley fought his way free. Big right hands by Harley. Lane with an Edgecution for a near fall~! Lane took waaaayyy too much coming off the ropes and landed nuts first on Harley’s knee. Harley got the pin with a fisherman suplex dropped into a shoulderbreaker. Sweet.

(5) “Sexy “Sean Casey (with nameless hot blonde) pinned Jeff Jameson at 5:49. The commentary and camera focused on Casey’s “near nekkid” blonde at ringside.

Johnson: She can make two outfits out of my underwear.
St. John: She can have my underwear.

Jameson missed a slingshot dive so badly he fortunate not to crack his skull. Back inside, Casey let Jameson shoot his wad. The abuse started with a diamond cutter off the ropes. Casey used a slingshot brainbuster suplex, a powerbomb, and was beyond toying with his stick boy opponent. Johnson referred to f Casey’s dancing fist drop as the Cincinnati Chili Shuffle. It missed. “I think that was only a two-way and meant to be a three way. (pausing for two beats) Let’s not say three-way during this match,” said St. John. Jameson got his comeback, and a pretty good lengthy one at that, before Casey smoked him with a superkick. Johnson said he wanted to interview the girl.

(6) Indian Nation (Lennox Lightfoot & Indian Outlaw) beat Tennessee Violence Authority (Hammerjack & Matt Dillinger with Paul Adams) via DQ in 9:52 . Nation cut the ring in half on TVA and worked over their knees using quick tags. Outlaw shook off Dillinger’s chops and returned fire. The big spot was an awesome double chop by Outlaw that sent Dillinger over the top rope. But Outlaw ventured too close to the ropes and got kicked in the head by Hammerjack. TVA gave Outlaw a beating. Paul passed Hammerjack taped rod of some kind, and TVA took turns jabbing it into Outlaw’s throat. Snap suplex and a leg drop for near falls by Dillinger. Outlaw was looking so bad Johnson said he was about to fade away. Out of nowhere, a Saman Drop by Outlaw and the hot tag. Lightfoot laid out TVA one against two. Lightfoot broke out the war dance and hit a springboard chop on Hammerjack. Paul got on the apron to distract the ref, but Miss Boogie pulled Paul down to the floor. Cut to a close up of Miss Boogie pummeling Paul. Lightfoot leapfrogged Dillinger, and Outlaw simultaneously dropkicked him out of the ring. Lightfoot hit an assisted flying elbow drop on Hammerjack, but no ref. Ricky Bell was still busy with Miss Boogie. Dillinger hit Lightfoot with the pool cue. Well, at least that was idea. Bell saw that and signaled for the DQ. Outlaw chased TVA out with a chair.

Closing Thoughts: This was the second half of the taping Jerry Jarrett attended. I haven’t gotten a chance to see episode 35, so this was my first viewing of the new look. I still love the show but I hate the new name. Southern All-star had a nostalgic appeal. Showtime All-star sounds like a rinky dink indie getting pretentious. This episode was more about showcasing talent and less about storyline advancement. SAW can usually be counted on for at least one goofy, offbeat promo segment. This show was lacking in that department. Good heat for the first match and the main and not much in between. Damian/Bully featured two of SAW’s most athletic performers in a fast-paced match and an impressive first title defense for Damian. Bully’s winless record born of arrogance and stupidity has about run its course. At this point, I believe he’s jobbed to every babyface on the roster. They obviously recognize his appeal as evidenced by listing him in one of the feature matches for the house show next week. Raige had another solid match. His power moves were on the money. I didn’t get much feel for Cooter one way or another. McCoy is a prospect. I like the character, and he’s got the best physique in the company with a bit of resemblance to Paul Orndorff. McCoy’s offense looked fine, but his selling needs work. For a change, Harley's match didn't go any longer than necessary, and that finisher looked tons better than what he used any of his recent wins. Casey’s female friend made that match bearable. Nobody was buying Jameson’s weak offense and it looked ridiculous having Casey sell for it. I don’t get SAW’s reluctance to book a squash when the situation clearly calls for it. Indian Nation does some things really well every time out, but they never seem to put together a solid match from start to finish. I liked the crisp teamwork to open the match. Outlaw was good selling for TVA. The finish, however, was no masterpiece of timing and execution. Miss Boogie’s pummeling looked better than last time, but that’s not saying much. Dillinger’s shot on Lightfoot with the pool cue appeared to be a complete miss. As for the announcing, Johnson and St. John continue to gel as a team. They got off some hilarious lines, especially during the Casey match.

"Coach's Corner" Thursday Morning Edition

----This past weekend the RWA dropped down to normal numbers of 100-120. I am not gloom and doom about this, there is something that this group did that week that made it succeed. From all accounts the people that was there was also treated to a good show. But, as it was proved last week when there was a Monster Truck show in town, it really doesn’t matter if you are giving the fans what they want to see; right?? How did 150 fans less show up this week?? What kind of advertising and such did this promotion do that they did not do this week? Jerry Lawler said in his talk with us last weekend that advertising was the key to wrestling in this area. I agree 100%. You have to advertise not just one week – you have to do it every week. You have to remind people that you are there no matter what. Posters in high traffic places – EVERY week. We will just have to wait and see how the crowd is in the next few weeks. Was this one show that drew 250+ a fluke or the start of something good??

----I have been avid reader of the Hollywood jimmy board for the last few weeks. Mainly after everything that happened and a “BT must die” note, I just thought it might be in my best interest to keep up with things. To Jimmy’s credit and I do this as much as possible, he does delete the death threats and such. He also tried his best to keep the Lord Huey rumors off the board, but they keep piling in. There was more than one post about this and it just comes off showing just the mentality of people that write on message boards. I did not say ALL people; just some are as dumb as a bag of hair. The questioning of who cares about how many people a show draws and just put on a good show for the fans made me laugh. Why do we care how many people they draw?? Wrestling is a business. The main goal should be to make some money. Ask Kenny Valiant why he promotes wrestling?? I do not doubt that Kenny loves the business, but he does like making money also. As I said when I stated the new policy of this site, the workers that read this site want to know if the shows are drawing. If they are not drawing, then the promoter can not pay money out.

----A name is just a name; right?? A little more was made of this than really needed to be, but Shawn Reed on “Shooting the Shiznit” stated that the team that should be recognized in this area as the “Southern Saints” would be him, Reno Diamond and Marcus O’Neil. Were they the original? Nah. But, this is the team that he plans to take with him to other places such as CHIKARA or other big shows. I understand his point. I mean you wouldn’t want anyone mixing up the two teams. Instead of a big controversy and who said what, Chris Styles and Josh Matthews have decided to be called “Sons of the South” now. I think it shows a class act for everyone involved, instead of keeping bs going like happens a lot in this business. I may be like a lot of people though, I think all five guys have talent and wish them the best of luck.

----Where is the RRO Best Promotion” of 2006 and 2007 headed?? The attendance has been just average this year and not much has put a shot in their arm. The UWL PPVs are going to benefit the workers for the exposure, but will it hurt TLCW in the long run?? Derrick King and Stan Lee, known also as “Hot Topic”, will be out every other week to do the PPVs. They are two of the top babyfaces and lots of fans come to the shows just to see them. Will the TLCW fans “catch on” and only start coming every other week?? Flash Flanagan is the man in charge with Lee/King gone, so the booking should stay steady. I do know the “POB” are scheduled to have a small run here, if everything stays “worked out”, as they were stressing being able to pay them for a long run. “Aslyum” [Pappy/Psycho/Arnez] have plans in coming in and I do know a few others have been talked to. Tatt2 is gone working RWA and the last time he was in Ripley, he was not getting the response he had before. This promotion is in a rebuilding phase of using new talent and trying to achieve their “best promotion” status.

----I would like to end this “Coach’s Corner” with a rant of sorts. I have heard some really constructive criticism about Yearbook 2007 and I do appreciate everything that has been said. There will be some changes in Yearbook 2008, but the “meat” of it will stay the same. There has been some “rumbles” in various dressing rooms about me making money off of area workers by putting their names and photos in the book without their permission. The photos in the book were approved by the people that took the pics. They are their property much like Brittany Spears crotch photos are sold on the net. Other photos posted on the site are fair game, because I feel if you didn’t have a problem with me using it during the year on the site, then what is the deal with me using it now?? I counted 4 photos that were taken from myspace photos that I did not actually ask the person about using them. Since the publication of the book, none of that has been brought to my attention as a problem. I hear the main complaint is that I am making money off the book?? Why is that a problem with anyone?? I do not sell a copy of the book to a person just because ONE photo of YOU is in the book. How is it that I owe someone something for writing about them?? Reviewing the year?? Has anyone in the past put anything close to this together about this area?? Do you not see that this is about my love of the business, not about money. If you are so hard up to think that I am making TONS of money off of this, then you are welcome to come to my house and look at my sales and loses. And, if you are one of those workers that don’t want their photo in the book, then e-mail me. You will be removed and I will put more photos of myself. I ask one worker this weekend, “Do I have heat with you because your picture is in the book?” He responded, “ The heat you have is that you didn’t put enough pictures of me.” When all is said and done, my 60 hours of labor are going to equal less than minimum wage for doing the book. But, as one of my closest friends in the biz said, “If you are getting heat, then you are over.”

Site News!!

POLICY CHANGE

----I have thought about this for more than a few months. It has stirred some heat here and there. From this point on, no gates will be reported on the site. I feel that my gates are either totally legit sometimes or just not even close on other times. Promoters have been nice enough to share their gates. I appreciate that. But, at times my gates have got people in trouble with the commissions, tax people and various other “legal” issues. If say I am off 50 people and report $250 more than that person actually had in the crowd, then that is a $25 more that they should have report – for a whole year that would be $1,300 more. Not much, but to tax people and commissions that means a lot.

----From this point on we will go by just an estimated number of fans at the show. “120 to 150”, “180 to 225” or if the promotion sends in numbers like – “120 paid – 150 in the building”. At the end of the year, I will still list the “Top 10” shows of the year, but they will be based solely on attendance. If we have two shows come close, then I will use the estimated gate to break the tie. Gates and attendance sometimes do not collate and you might have a 300 attendance with a $1,800 gate or a 300 attendance with a $3,000 gate. The latter will get the nod. I will also be presenting the “Top Shows of The Year” in ballot form, so we can have three nominees for a new award in 2008 called, “Show of The Year”.

MESSAGE BOARD

----I would like to thank everyone that visits the message board on a regular basis. The board hits have almost tripled since I announced that it was going to be eliminated. Aside from a few people that are low on brain cells, the board does have some pretty good discussions. Please continue to VOICE YOUR OPINION!!

----RRO DVD releases from this point on will be not be for sale on this site. The DVDs are designed for promoters and workers to use for gimmick sales. I have sold very few off this site anyway, so I thought I would eliminate my sales here and concentrate on doing DVD for workers/promoters. I have signed an extended deal with All Pro Productions and Kenny Valiant to do DVDs of all his shows. The next release is the Bruce, MS show “Night of the King II”. The only way you will be able to get copies of these DVDs from this site, is that I will be giving away free copies for book purchases and radio call ins and such. I always order an X number of copies of them to keep for myself. If you are a worker or promoter and would like DVDs made of your matches or shows, then please contact me. In the next few weeks, I will have full details on the DVDs and you can even look at them still in the store by clicking here. We also will have the Eric Wayne vs Kid Nikels RRO DVD release, which will be advertised on this site, but will be a “click to”, so that you buy directly from Ken Wayne.

VOICE YOUR OPINION ON POLICY CHANGE!!

RassleResults: RWA Jonesboro, AR 3.15.08 - Attendance Dips To Normal

OPENING

The show opened with Kristin George singing the National Anthem. Frank Martin explained to the crowd that there are collection jars at the front door and concession stand. The collection is for Sergeant Shakedown's son. Shakedown's son is Autistic and they are trying to get him a service dog. The Royal Wrestling Alliance is proud to help. Mr Martin then recapped last weeks action, then reminded the crowd that there is a policy in place about hitting the ref's. The San Francisco Treat beat up the ref. William Semone last week so Martin suspended Treat for 90 days. William came out and asked Martin to not suspend Treat but rather give "The Official" a match with him. The crowd wanted it and so the match was made.

RESULTS

----Shakedown beat Zane Richards. The Loose Cannon and Rottn Randy then hit the ring and laid Shakedown out…Chris Steel beat Medieval & Big Al in a Triple Threat Match…”The Official” William Semone beat San Francisco Treat by DQ, when Treat used a chair on Semone. Cannon/Randy joined and put makeup on Semone…Loose Cannon beat Tatt2 by using his feat…Chazz Wesson with Rottn Randy beat Gary Diamond.

NOTES

----It has been reported by various sources that the attendance dip was because of a Rodney Carrington concert in town. Carrington was not in town – he will be there on 3.27.08…100 to 120 in the building…Ali Stevens vs San Francisco Treat, Cannon vs Tatt2 this week…The Main Event finish had Diamond going for a superkick, but Chazz got out of ring. Chazz got Gary up against the ropes and Rottn Randy threw a fireball in Gary’s face. Chazz then said he was starting his own “White Boy Challenge”, which will lead to a program with Rodney Mack… Deadly Dale was not in attendance as scheduled. Dale had a death in his family. The fans and RWA [and us at RRO] send our deepest condolences to Dale and his family…Rottn Randy is a bit overexposed here, but I have been guilty of doing the same thing being the top manager for a group.

Power Outage causes problems for C.H.R.

This morning an hour and 15 minutes into my interview with Randy Hales my power was knocked out due to a bad storm and high winds which killed my phone connection and my internet connection bringing the interview to a screeching halt. The power was out for two hours so we weren't able to finish the interview today. I have rescheduled Randy for this coming Monday at 10am to finish out the interview, the good news that this morning's interview did save to the archive and can still be heard, I recommend everyone check it out, some very interesting stuff about the end of the USWA and how Power Pro came to be (and almost didn't). Some good stuff, so check it out on the player below and check out Monday's show where we'll finish out the interview and have some word association with Randy as well.

3.07.08

Devon Raynes defeated Dirty Sanchez.

Curly Mo defeated Chop.

Tony Dabbs defeated J-Kid. After the match the same guy who has been attacking J-Kid came out of the back and choke slammed him.

"The Studd" Scott Porteau defeated LSD.

Chris Styles defeated DC by DQ when DC hit Chris with a chair.

Izzy Rotten won a no DQ triple threat match over Neil Taylor & Brett Michaels to win the TFW Championship when Ryan SoFine interfered.

Crowd was approx 50 due to bad weather (snow).

3.14.08

Before the show even started Parental Advisory (Scott Porteau, Tony Dabbs, Izzy Rotten, & Ryan SoFine) came to the ring. They were gloating about Izzy Rotten "winning" the TFW Championship the previous week when Commish Randall Lewis was absent, and how there was nothing Lewis could do about it. Finally Lewis issued a challenge for a match on April 11: Parental Advisory (Studd, Tony, Izzy, & Ryan) vs. a 4-man team of his choosing. If PA wins, they get total control of TFW. If the Commish’s team wins, Lewis get total control of TFW and PA agrees not to interfere any more. The challenge was accepted. He also informed them that he was ordering a re-match of the triple threat match from last week, Izzy Rotten vs. Brett Michaels vs. Neil Taylor for the TFW Championship. He also told them that the other members of PA (Studd, Tony, & Ryan) would be handcuffed during the match so they could not interfere.

Brian SoFine & Lil' Devil w/Andy2Dandy defeated Dirty Sanchez & Kid-J.

Fusion defeated Curly Mo. After the match I asked Fusion to be the first member of my team for the match on April 11. Fusion accepted.

Josh Matthews & Tysin Starr defeated Yertle the Turtle (Chris Chaos) & DC.

"The Future" Chris Styles defeated Buzz Harley. After the match Styles issued an open challenge to anyone in the back for a match on April 11.

Parental Advisory (Studd, Tony, & Ryan) defeated The Freakshow (Chop Top the Clown & Uncle Vinnie the Blade) & LSD.

PHAT Foundation (Justin Rhodes & J-Kid) defeated Cassanova Kid & Chazz Stone. Again out came the guy who has been attacking J-Kid for several weeks, along with Curly Mo & Dirty Rell Mo, and they gave J-Kid a beating. Curly Mo then announced that the "mystery man" was called J Mo Money, and he is the first member of "The Mo Foundation."

It was time for the main event, and Izzy, Neil, & Brett were in the ring. Studd, Tony, & Ryan were handcuffed to the steel cage near the announcers table where Lewis could keep an eye on them. The match got underway, and it was a wild match, to say the least. After about 10 minutes the lights went out, and when they came back on, the members Parental Advisory had gotten loose and were in the ring. They beat Neil and Brett down, and the beating continued despite numerous warnings. The Commish finally went to the ring and ordered them to go to the back. They beat up Lewis and Denise Blaylock leaving the lying in the ring.

RassleResults: NBW Dyersburg, TN 3.15.08 - XOW Starts to Invade!!

OPENING

----Show opened w/ Sarge OReilly, Tony Watts and Billy Russ coming out in XOW t-shirts. They demanded to get the owner of NBW in the ring at once. After Bigg Money Gripp [Jeff McDonald] came to the ring Russ started downing everyone in NBW and in the crowd, saying that he has put 3 promotions out of business and he wants to do the same here and buy NBW after BMG declined and told them to leave the ring they back him in the corner and Moore's music hit and the placed exploded, Sarge then stated that they didn’t have to wait until the main event they can wrestle now.

RESULTS

----Sarge beat. Jeremy Moore after Billy Russ hit Moore w/ a chain…Suicide beat Synn w/ a spinning unprettier…Arnez beat Tim Edwards in a no holds barred match …”Original Southern Pride” [Tommy Redneck/Kilo] beat Gaylon Reed/John Roberts…Mark Justice beat Jason Matthews via DQ after Rob jumped mark, they left him bloody…Big Red beat Motley Cruz to win the NBW High Risk title.

NOTES

----80 to 90 paid with 120-130 in the building…Lots of heat for first bout…SPride got a big reaction...Edwards/Arnez was a wild brawl and after the match was over Edwards and Biscuit attacked Arnez and tied him to the ropes, set a traschcan in the ring and burned Arnez's babydoll - Arnez snapped and left. This angle was ran one time during LAW in Dyersburg, when I believe Simon Reed/Christian Jacobs “burned” Kayte in a trashcan…Gaylon Ray is now known as Gaylon Reed. I love that…Rob Justice jumped Mark Justice during his bout for the DQ and left him bloody…The Cruz/Red bout was a “title” bout, but only after the bout did Red know it was a “High Risk” Title Match…Sarge told SPride that when he gets done with Moore – he will bring Mickey in to take the tag straps…This week Fan Strap Match: Sarge vs Moore and the Dyersburg return of Danny B. Goode…Goode will be a good addition. This group has one of the better roster now.

Tomorrow morning at 9am cst- Randy Hales returns to C.H.R.

Tune into Cheap Heat Radio tomorrow at 9am central for the follow up interview w/ Randy Hales. If you haven't listened to Part 1, check it out in the archives at www.blogtalkradio.com/cheapheat. Brandon Espinosa defeated Dorian Victor

Gary J. defeated Sgt. Savage

Pappy defeated Pierre Abernathy by DQ when Johnny Vinyl & Rockin' Randy interfered

The Asylum (Psycho, Arnez, & Pappy) defeated Pierre Abernathy, Rockin' Randy, & Johnny Vinyl in a 6-man tag match

Idol Bane w/ Jeff O'Dell defeated Seth Knight

----61 paid with 80 or so in the place…Crowd was hot all night. This was Seth Knight's return to LAW. At the top of the show, Seth came to ring and said he was back and wanted a shot at the LAW Heavyweight Champ "The Golden Boy" Greg Anthony tonight. Jeff O'Dell came to the ring and said that TGB was not here, as he had given the champ a "much needed night off". Jeff then introduced a "Welcoming Committee" for Seth Knight...which turned out to be Idol Bane! After the introduction of Idol Bane, Jeff made the main event of the night: Seth Knight vs. Idol Bane. This prompted Brandon Espinosa to come the ring. It was Idol Bane's interference in the ladder match at Leap of Faith two weeks ago that cost Brandon his chance at the LAW title, so now Brandon wanted a match with Idol tonight. Jeff informed Brandon that even though Brandon has risen through the ranks of LAW very quickly, he does not get what wants. Idol Bane already has a match tonight, and Brandon would be having a match tonight himself with another opponent: LAW newcomer Dorian Victor…In the main event, Idol Bane defeated Seth Knight after hitting him with a chain. After the match, Idol proceeded to beat down Seth until Brandon Espinosa made the save. This prompted Jeff O'Dell to make a tag team match for next week: Brandon Espinosa & Seth Knight vs. "The Golden Boy" Greg Anthony & Flash Flanagan. Idol Bane will get to wrestle an opponent of his choosing. Other matches for next week: LAW Tag Champs Johnny Vinyl & Rockin' Randy vs. The Asylum (Psycho & Arnez), and Pierre Abernathy vs. Pappy (Winner gets to be at ringside for the tag title match, loser must leave the building).

"Flamboyant" Faron Foxx on Jerkin' The Curtain Monday March 17th @ 10 PM CST Lee Tidwell co-host

Hey everyone, tomorrow night, Monday, March 17th, at 10 PM central time the "Flamboyant" Faron Foxx will be the special guest on Jerkin The Curtain radio. Lee Tidwell will co-host. This should be a very interesting show for anyone interested in the inner workings of the Nashville wrestling scene after the USWA closed in the mid 90's, cuz Foxx was in the middle of a lot of stuff in that time period. We'll discuss his time in the USWA, his program there with Miss Texas(Jackie Moore), being a promoter while still a teenager, Bert Prentice' NAW wrestling, and Bert in general, New South wrestling, Southern All-Star wrestling, TJ, USWO, Tony Falk, Krull, being openly gay in wrestling, coming out of the closet, Jerry Springer, The Stadium Inn, working for Bart Durham, leaving wrestling, and whatever else comes up. Tidwell, if he shows up this time around, knows a lot about Foxx too, so this should be quite a show. Check it out live Monday night, or check out the archive later. We'll take live callers during the show, and ask e-mail questions. Cya then! Trent Van Drisse
