Update on Jamie Jay's PWA promotion

Jamie Jay's Professional Wrestling Alliance (PWA) has a busy schedule in July following one big card in June.

PWA held an event on Saturday, June 20 at the Ridge bar and grill in Wynne, AR. Below are the results from that event.

- "Juicy" Johnny Morton def. Dylan Crest
- "Ravishing" Rich Rude def. Chass Cardington
- Danny B. Good & Rik Burton def. "The Asylum" (Pyscho & Pappy)
- Matt Riviera def. Scott Fury
- Team Hollister (Jamie Jay & Jamie Lee) def. Johnny Morton & Scott Fury

RassleNotes: This was a promotional event worked out with the bar and grill that saw anywhere from 150 to 180 fans watching the show at given times. The event also featured pre-show magic from MC Barnum, pudding matches and a wet T-shirt contest. Workers on the show said it was one of the wildest events they've ever been involved with as fans were in a "fighting mood" and girls were in a "flirting mood." It was one of those situations where you just needed to be there!

PWA has three events scheduled in July. The next will take place this Thursday, July 9, in Parkin, AR at the Old High School Gymnasium. Card will feature PWA Champion Jamie Jay, Tag Team Champions Johnny Morton & Matt Riviera, "Golden Boy" Greg Anthony (with manager Brian Thompson), Derrick King, Austin Lane, Dylan Crest, John Cage and more! PWA will also return to Wynne, AR and Augusta, AR later in the month. Details on those cards are forthcoming.

- "3G" Eric Wayne def. "Main Attraction" Matt Justyce
- Kid Nikels def. Dan Matthews

RassleNotes: Around 40 in attendance...Downtown Bruno was referee for the entire evening...Anthony & Steele had a fun pre-match interview mocking the rookie duo of Matthews & Charles...Matthews and Nikels had a solid 17 minute match...Sponsor Critter Getters recently filmed an entertaining commercial with the promotion. Very funny stuff that showed live on the big screen during breaks...N.E.W. returns to West Memphis next Friday at 8 p.m.

Cheap Heat Book Review-- Wrestling with the Truth by Bruno Lauer

Gene Jackson's Cheap Heat Book Review- Wrestling with the Truth by Bruno Lauer

As everyone who has read my stuff for a while knows, I love reading wrestling books. I've read the majority of all the wrestling books that have come out over the years. Of course my favorite has always been Mick Foley's first book 'Have a Nice Day'. I also very much enjoyed Chris Jericho's book as well as Bret Hart's book. There are a lot of really good books out there. On the flip side of that there are a lot of really shitty books out there as well. I'm a huge Jerry Lawler fan and I couldn't wait to read his book but was really dissappointed in it when I finally got the chance to as too much of it was spent dwelling on his lost relationship with Stacy Carter, to the point I was almost embarrassed for him by the end. His great career deserves a better representation than that. Anyway, I digress let's get to the point of today's review.

Being a huge fan of Memphis Wrestling growing up I always like to check out books that might have some good stories from the "glory days" of Memphis. When I heard Downtown Bruno had written a book I thought this would be right up my alley. I've always liked Downtown Bruno based on watching Memphis tv on Saturday mornings with my Dad when I was a kid, my Dad always loved to hear Bruno's interviews and thought they were hilarious, so we always looked forward to seeing Bruno and whoever he was managing at the time come out and talk smack about what they were gonna do that Monday night to Jerry Lawler....Jeff Jarrett....Bill Dundee...or whoever the 'Downtown Connection' had their sights set on at the time. So because of that I've always followed Bruno's career. I saw him work a lot in Continental during his time their in '88 and was pleasantly surprised to see him turn up in the WWF years later.

Anyway, I've really wanted to order his book and check it out since it was released but just haven't had the chance to up til recently. B.T. put me in touch with Bruno to talk to him about the Eddie Gilbert book I'm working on and Bruno has been so nice and helpful offering insight on anything I've asked and as busy as he is on the road all the time he always gets back to me and has just been really great helping me out and sending me material for the book. Having read some of the stuff he sent me for the book on Eddie Gilbert I knew I now more than ever wanted to read his book, "Wrestling with the Truth." So I finally ordered it and got it in about a week ago. I just finished it last night and I have to say I really enjoyed the hell out of it. Don't get me wrong I'm not just coming on here endorsing his book because he's helping me, I would put this book over even if Bruno didn't like me. So many great stories in there, a lot of really funny stuff, some really sad stuff, shocking stuff, but all of it honest. That is what impressed me most is that Bruno tells you like it is about the people he's worked with over the years. From the amazing way he broke into the business as a young kid, to dealing with hard asses like Bill Dundee, to surviving life with 'Psycho' Sid to hanging out with a teenage 'Rock' to Owen Hart ribs to the car wreck that nearly ended his life and did end referee Joey Marella's. You want honesty, that story is full of honesty, something most people don't have the guts to do but Bruno doesn't sugarcoat his feelings about Marella just because he's past on, as people so often do. This story is worth the price of the book alone as it's just really amazing that Bruno is here today after that ordeal.

There are a lot of funny stories and lines throughout the whole book but one of my favorites is a story of Owen Hart leaving Cheif Jay Strongbow totally speechless backstage, one of the greatest lines in the history of the business.......but I'm not gonna spoil it. Read the book to hear that one and countless others. The wrestling book market has been flooded in recent years and there are a lot of books out there that after you read them you wonder why you wasted your time. I promise you, if you order this book you won't be disappointed it's the story of man who paid his dues to make it from poverty to being the right hand man of most powerful family in sports entertainment.

Whether you know him as 'Downtown Bruno', Dr. Harvey Whippleman, or Harvina- the WWE Women's Champion, Bruno Lauer is a man with an interesting story to tell that can entertain fans and teach young guys in the wrestling business what it was like to "pay your dues" and "break in" to the professional wrestling business in the pre-Tough Enough era of wrestling. Things aren't the same and they never will be, but guys need to know what it was like for the ones who came before them and Bruno put in his time on the road to earn his spot. I again would like to reiterate what I said before that Bruno is one of the nicest most helpful guys I have had the pleasure of dealing with in the wrestling business and it's an honor to have him here as a part of the RRO staff.

If you'd like to check out the book for yourself and again I highly recommend you do. Go to this website. http://www.1wrestlinglegends.com/crowbarpress/bruno/index.html
The website also has some chapter previews and such that can give you a bit of a feel for the book and a taste of what's in there.

Have a great fourth everybody and be safe.

No Holds Barred - Fight To The Finish Handicap Match - Derrick King & Randy Hales -vs- Brandon Baxter

Last year at 4th In The Forest, Randy Hales set out to get revenge on Brandon Baxter. Hales hired his longtime friend, Derrick King to be the guy to get the job done. Randy was in Derrick's corner last year, but Randy's interference ended up backfiring. At the end of the event Brandon & Ali Stevens threw Hales into Craighead Forest Lake.

Fast forward one year, and Baxter is enjoying the greatest year of his life. Since the last 4th In The Forest Kiss FM has become an even more dominant radio station, he has gotten married, and has a child on the way. Hales has had a miserable year, as he was humiliated at 4th In The Forest, in the city that he was born and raised in.

New Blood Wrestling of Newbern, Tennessee contacted East Arkansas Broadcasters, and they placed a bid to be the organization to run the wrestling portion of 4th In The Forest. EAB accepted the bid. New Blood Wrestling hired longtime wrestling promoter Randy Hales to be the matchmaker for this huge event. Randy took it upon himself to stack the deck against Double B, to hopefully finish their rivalry once and for all.

Picture Perfect (Christian Jacobs & Jon Michael) -vs- "Hot Topic" Stan Lee & "The Human Highlight Reel" Austin Lane

Austin Idol Coming To Mempho??

----Mark James @ www.memphiswrestlinghistory.com wrote the following in an e-mail this morning...

"I’ve been in contact with this week is Austin Idol. It’s been public knowledge that the Heartthrob is going to be attending the Charlotte fanfest in August (along with Jackie Fargo, Jerry Jarrett, Lance Russell, Dave Brown, Jim Cornette and others). What hasn’t been mentioned is that Idol is also talking about making some appearances in the city that he had his biggest success in. What I have is posted on my website, hopefully more info to come…"

RassleResults: RWA Jonesboro, AR 6.27.09

1st match: J.D. Kerry vs Kid Krazy. Winner J.D. Kerry.
2nd match: Lucky vs Acid. Winner Acid
3rd match: John Allen vs RWA TV Champion The Mexican Assassin Tejano Kid. Winner John Allen.
4th match: Pokerface vs Logan Fury. Winner Pokerface.
5th match: Dog Pound(Soul Train Jones Rodney Bad Dogg Mack) vs Money Inc(Mike Austin and Acid) Winner Money Inc by DQ.

The show opened with The RWA TV broadcast team Greg Russell and Brandon Wallace coming to the ring. Greg Russell was his annoying self claiming to be the Grandson of the Memphis legend Lance Russell. Plus putting over the fact that he won the RWA Broadcasting Championship and challenged all the TV broadcasters and of course put down the fans. He was then interrupted by Brandon Wallace who then reminded the fans of the first fan fest on the 4th at the Kings Sportatorium. At this point Big Money and Money Inc. Came to the ring and interrupted the show. Big Money took the mic from Brandon and told him that he had got on TV and called him a hypocrite and called the TV Champ a Mexican wannabe be Champion and called the RWA Champion a degenerate. At this point Big Money started laughing and Rage hit Wallace from behind with the loaded forearm pad. Then Tejano started beating on this poor young man. Rage picked him up and Tejano gave him the Siesta. Wallace was laid out and Money Inc left the ring.

Kid Krazy and J.D. Kerry was the first match and these two guys put on a match that was second to none. This match featured great moves and a fast pace plus an add treat that you only get in the RWA real wrestling. It was two fan favorites and Kerry is in line for a shot at the TV Championship. Both used some high flying moves as this match went back and forth. In the end Kerry caught Krazy in the Kerry Coil and won by submission. The lights in the arena went out as the two went to shake hands. When they came back on Dominique was at ring side Kerry was expecting The Mexican Assassin to come out but he came out from under the ring catching Kerry from behind. Tejano really put the wood to the young Kerry, everyone could tell he was trying to hurt Kerry. These two will meet on the 4th.

Luck and Acid was the classic big man little man match. Lucky can go with the best and gave Acid a great match. Big Money and Rage came out to watch the match. They only stayed out for just a few minutes and then Big Money said something to Rage who agreed and the two left. Lucky did his best to keep Acid off balance with his quickness but as fate would have it Acid finally got his hands on Lucky and after a couple big slams got the 123 and won the match.

John Allen and Tejano saw a young up and coming superstar going up against a veteran who can be not only smart but vicious as well. Tejano hit a drop kick at one point that caught Allen and almost sent him flying through the ropes. Tejano did pitch Allen out of the ring were Dominique got her hands on him and slapped him silly. When Allen made his way back into the ring Tejano tried to get the upper hand Allen cut him off and mounted his comeback. Allen hit a side slam and went for his moonsault off the top rope. Tejano rolled out of the ring and was counted out keeping his Title but giving Allen the victory. Before Tejano could get to the back Kerry came out and attacked Tejano. Kerry was out of control taking Tejano to the ring and got on top and was giving him a good old fashion butt whoopin! Tejano made his escape and retreated to the back.

Pokerface and Logan Fury was a rematch from last week that saw Logan Fury roll up Pokerface and also use the ropes to get the win. Poker seemed to be more focused on the match this week. These two were really physical and showed the fans that they like all the workers in the RWA are not afraid to fight. They hit each other with kicks and punches mixed with great wrestling. This match went for a good 20 minutes and did not lose any intensity at all. Poker came out with a hard but well deserved victory.

The main event saw the Dog Pound taking on Money Inc. Rage who was out at the beginning came out with Big Money. Rage had his arm in a sling from a previous injury. Mike Austin was waiting for his tag partner. Rage called out Acid who had been hired by Money Inc for the night. Rodney Mack and Soul Train Jones came out to the roar of the crowd. Mack started the match against Austin. Mack started by showing his kicking ability attacking Austin's hamstrings. Mack tagged in Soul Train Jones as Austin kept getting out of the ring to avoid Mack's kicks. Jones came in using his power but Austin attacked the leg and tagged in Acid. Acid kept the pressure on Jones and the double team started. The ref kept Mack at bay and this allowed Money Inc to keep Jones down on the mat. When Jones made the tag to Mack, Mack was on fire. Money Inc tried to double team Mack but he was to strong sending both Austin and Acid to the outside. The ref tried to get Mack back to allow them to get into the ring and Mack being still in a rage slammed the ref getting the DQ. Rage hit the ring and Money Inc had a 3 on 1 for a while. Jones made his way back to try to even things up but Money Inc still had the upper hand. Then Tejano hit the ring and made the ambush complete. However Mack is not without friends as well. That's when The Playaz and J.D. Kerry hit the ring and took over on Money Inc. Mack and crew cleared the ring standing strong. Big Money grabbed a mic and told the fans that this was only the start, that on the 4th there would be a rematch and Money Inc would bury the Dogg Pound. The fans were hot and are now looking forward to this rematch.

There was 100+ in the crowd and the crowd has been smaller than what they were before summer hit.

Mama Says It Beees That Way Sometimes "Greg King Jr - Nice, Respective and Humble" by “Downtown” Bruno Lauer

You know I have drank more beer, ate more late night drive in food, slept in more flea-bag motels and ate more over the counter sleeping pills than 99.99% of the people reading this post. Dammit I came by it honest ‘cause dammit I am Downtown Bruno. I am not rich – only semi-famous and arguably a quasi-legend. But, I know the future of this business and its name is Greg King Jr.

This kid is the nicest, most respective and most humble guy I have ever met in 30 plus years in the f%%kin industry. He might be too damn nice for this business. Lord knows there are a shit storm of scumbags waiting to pounce at all time times in this would – I promise you that. For ever Jerry Lawler, Downtown Bruno, Ken Wayne, Boss Winters, Bobby Eaton and Pat Patterson [we are all good guys btw] there are 15 Tommy Richs, Bruce Pritchards, Brickhouse Browns, Paul Romas, Paul Diamonds etc.

A great kid like Greg King with all the talent, looks, drive and ability in the world does not deserve the bullshit he is bound to face. Hell, in a way, he’s lucky he wasn’t around in the territory days – the babyfaces would have tried to eat him up like a hamburger – purely out of jealousy and evil. Because let’s face it – he has it all. He lacks in that he needs a few more pounds, but he could be a top babyface. NO BS!! A washed up bastard trying to hang on like Tommy Rich or someone of his ilk would have made life hell for King - that’s a damn shame. This kid is on his way and you can quote me on that.

----“Downtown” Bruno Lauer is a legend in Memphis Wrestling. He surprised everyone last year winning RRO Referee of the Year 2008 from his work at NEW. He appears bi-weekly with his non controversial column. Lauer had his biography published last year “Wrestling with The Truth” and can be purchased at www.crowbarpress.com. Lauer is also currently employed by the WWE.

The Golden Circle "You Don't Watch Wrestling?" by Greg Anthony

One of my biggest pet peeves as a wrestler is hearing another wrestler say that they don't watch wrestling. It just doesn't make any sense to me. Would you be in a rock band and say you don't listen to music? Or maybe you're an aspiring professional basketball player but you don't watch the NBA. One of my favorite sayings is "To know where you're going, you have to know where you've been" but by the same token you have to know where you are. You have to know what is going on in the present and if you're not watching then you are behind the curve.

Most of those who utter this phrase give the same excuse. Its not as good as it use to be. What that really means is, its not as good as it was when I was 8 and because I supposedly know the ends and outs of the business the magic is gone. I myself have the opposite opinion because I know the ends and outs it has opened up whole other realm that I didn't know existed when I was 8. However don't misunderstand, nothing is greater now then when even I have suspension of disbelief when watching a great match. Most recently Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XXV.

When a younger wrestler asks me for advice on how they can get better my first response is always "Watch as much wrestling as you can". Between RAW, Smackdown, Superstars, ECW, TNA there are 8 hours of original wrestling programming a week. If you have satellite then you could possibly watch AAA lucha libra, NWA Showcase or ROH. Although just watching isn't the main goal, its studying it. Whether you're a wrestler, booker, referee, commentator, ring announcer or anything else in between you can learn something from somewhere each week.

Now am I saying that I love everything that is put on television in today's wrestling? Of course not, I have my own opinions just like many do. Just like many within those same companies may not like some aspects. I was working at a wrestling show and I was in the locker room watching the monitor as a match was taking place. Bill Dundee was there that night and he asked me in that unmistakable Bill Dundee accent "What are watching this shit for, kid?" and in a quick witted response I said "Sometimes to know what does work, first you have to know what doesn't." Bill mumbled something and kind of just shuffled off.

The phrase I hear more often than not from past generations, the generations that most were able to make a living at pro wrestling is learn your craft. That means get as much ring time as you possible can but when you can't be in the ring then try to learn from the next best thing and thats studying. Watching Flair, Michaels, Jericho, Ted Dibiase Sr, Arn Anderson(just to name a few) is going to do more for you then working a 10 minute "Blind leading the Blind" match every week.

During one the seasons of WWE's Tough Enough there was a super athletic guy trying out. Physically he could anything you asked him to do. Jim Ross asked him if he could do The Spin-a-roonie. The guy asked "What's a spin-a-roonie?". Jim Ross became frustrated that this guy didn't even watch the product. He wasn't a wrestling fan, he was just an athletic guy. If you're not a fan of wrestling, if you don't love wrestling then you won't last long in wrestling and if you don't watch the product then Jim Ross might ask you do something you've never heard of, I promise and when "The Golden Boy" Greg Anthony makes a promise its as good as gold.

----Greg Anthony is a regular on the local area circuit. He won RRO Booker of the Year 2008 and is listed in the top 5 of the RRO Top 10 2008. Greg is currently working as booker of NEW and can be seen tagging with legend Bobby Eaton and Brian Thompson as “Midnight Gold”.

Austin Idol Video!!

Idol also announced on his site [CLICK HERE] the following..and it has been a long time since this guy made an appearance. RassleResults: EWE Ripley,TN 6.27.09

There's a rowdy crowd of about 50 fans in the arena tonight as Dustin "Five" Starr comes out to gloat about his victory over Stan Lee 2 weeks ago before his match against The Kid. Starr makes quick work of his opponent, quickly taking him down via pinfall. After the match, he begins another segment of the Five Starr Showcase. He says that tonight is a big night, and that there's a big celebration going on because of the biggest thing that has happened to him, the fans, and the company. He says it's because he beat Stan Lee 1,2,3 in the ring 2 weeks ago. Stan Lee's music hits and Starr scrambles out to the arena floor. Lee says that he's out here for his title rematch, and he wants it tonight. Starr says he came out to celebrate his victory over Lee, and wanted to have a glass of champagne, but there's no alcohol allowed in the building. He also wanted a huge fireworks celebration, but it was a fire code violation, so he grabs a bag of confetti and throws it around the ring, saying that this is the only thing he can do. He also compares Lee's wrestling skills to the confetti; boring and dull. Starr says that Lee doesn't deserve a title shot, and if he even thinks about wanting his title back, Lee will have to go through Bishop. Starr says that if Lee wins his match against Bishop, then he swears on his hair that he'll get a rematch. Lee tells Starr to make sure the belt is shined up real nice to go back around his waist.

Rockin' Randy comes out for his match against The Baron Malkavain. Baron's music hits, but is nowhere to be seen. The referee begins the 10 count to allow Baron to join the match. The referee gets to the count of 9 before Baron makes his way to the ring. The Baron Malkavain would get the victory over Rockin' Randy via pinfall.

Craven makes his way to the ring to a hearty welcome by the fans. He says that he just flew back from Afghanistan and wanted to tell everyone to come out to EWE every other Saturday until August 1st when the EWE will go back to a regular schedule. Craven thanks the fans and makes his way up the ramp as Commissioner Dustin Baker comes down, shakes his hand, and makes his way to the ring. He came out to the ring to address the fans concerning Chris O'Neal. He says that O'Neal has suffered a severe knee injury that will put him out of the ring for a year. He invites the other half of the EWE tag team champions Christian Jacobs to the ring. Baker says that he has talked it over with the EWE staff and authorities about what to do about the tag team titles, and says that Picture Perfect can keep the titles for 30 days. After 30 days, either Jacobs could defend the titles by himself, or he would have to forfeit the belts. Premiere Brutality makes their way to the ring, asking "Where's Chris O'Neal?" Baker says he has a question. He asks everyone how they feel about the saying "An eye for an eye" tonight. Eric Wayne says that he has perfect 20\20 vision. Baker says if he has 20\20 vision, he should have seen this coming. Baker says that Eric Wayne will be in a handicap match against Genocide tonight. Baker then says that Kid Nikels will have a match against Christian Jacobs, but Nikels will have one arm tied behind his back.

Kid Nikels and Christian Jacobs begin their match next, with Nikels left arm tied behind his back. After the two go back and fourth for a while, Nikel's arm comes loose from the restraint. A referee comes from the back to talk with the current authority of the match, but as they were talking, Christian Jacobs runs into the official referee of the match, knocking him out. He has enough energy to call for the bell, calling the match as no contest. After the match, Premiere Brutality traps Jacobs in the ropes as Eric Wayne gears up to strike him with a bat. Genocide runs out to help Jacobs, but both men flee the ring. Jacobs manages to grab Wayne's tights and throws him back into the ring where Genocide sends Wayne directly in the path of a spear delivered by Jacobs, then The Albino Rhino and Maxx Corbin send Eric Wayne crashing back down to the mat yet again. Jacobs manages to slide in one more hit before Wayne crawls and scrapes his way to the back.

J.R. Manson makes his way to the arena floor, where he grabs a mic and challenges Jon Michael, and says that he can stop his undefeated streak in the EWE.

Genocide makes their way to the ring, followed by a crippled Eric Wayne. Wayne says that he is unable to compete due to the beating he just received by Genocide and Christian Jacobs. Baker comes to ringside and says that he will compete, and that it will be a no disqualification match, then bans Kid Nikels from ringside. Maxx Corbin throws Eric Wayne in to the ring as the bell rings to start the match. After The Albino Rhino and Maxx Corbin do a substantial amount of damage to Eric Wayne, Kid Nikels comes down the ramp, causing a distraction. Wayne grabs a baseball bat from the corner of the ring and strikes Corbin. Eric Wayne makes the pinfall on Maxx Corbin, giving him the victory over Genocide. Maxx Corbin grabs the mic and says that he spent 2 months at home and his friend Chris O'Neal has to spend a year out of the ring. He then challenges Premiere Brutality to a stretcher match in two weeks.

Jon Michaels def. J.R. Manson via pinfall to continue his undefeated streak in the EWE. The Baron Malkavain comes to the ring. The two men exchange a few words, Jon Michael extends his hand to Baron, and they shake. Michael leaves the arena, followed by Baron.

The match between Bishop and Stan Lee gets underway with fire coming from both competitors. After the match had been going for a while, Dustin Starr starts pacing down at ringside. Bishop goes for a clothesline on Lee, but hits the referee instead. Lee manages to put Bishop on the mat, but Starr knocks Lee out with the EWE Heavyweight Championship belt. Bishop pins Lee to the mat as Starr wakes the referee up to deliver the 3 count. Bishop will score the pinfall and the victory against Stan Lee. Starr and Bishop celebrate in the middle of the ring around Lee. Starr kneels down and says that Lee will never, ever get a title shot, ever. Bishop asks Starr if the deal they had with the title shot is still good. Starr says to trust him, and that he'll get his shot. Lee grabs the mic and makes it to his feet, saying Starr cheated and got away with it. Lee lays a challenge down to Starr. He says in two weeks, he doesn't want a match, but he wants a title shot if he can beat Starr in something. Lee says that if Starr is the greatest, and if Lee wins, he should deserve a title shot. Starr agrees, and asks what Lee wants to challenge him at. Lee says that he's pretty good at poker, so he challenges Dustin Starr to a game of poker in the middle of the ring in 2 weeks. Starr says that he knows a little bit about poker, and accepts Lee's challenge. Lee says that it won't be just any poker game, that it'll be a game of strip poker, and the first one down to nothing is the loser. A puzzled Dustin Starr and Bishop make their way to the locker room.

----Well, it looks like them taking off a week hurt the crowd. This experiment could have went one of two ways - they draw double every other week or they lose the crowd...That strip poker challenge is..well..different.

-Chris Rocker/Sgt O’Reilly beat Motley Cruz/C-Money with 187 when Sarge pinned Cruz after a hot tag with a DDT.

-Fire and Flame retained the DCW Tag Team Titles beat “the Good Ol’Boys” [Shannon Lee/Gaylon Ray] in a bloody Tennessee Street Fight.

----I was told this group is drawing from 60 to 70 a week, which is surprising considering the heat and the roster. The main and semi looked to be good. I have never been a fan of Gunner vs Edwards. LOL And I feel sorry for Bishop. LOL…C-Money was at the Tank Benefit and I assumed he was going to work for NBW, but is here now. He is a good hard worker and will be an asset to this roster. I hate to see him as a heel though, because he got such a huge babyface pop at NBW…They have been running a major angle with Fire/Flame vs GOBs over the DCW Tag Titles with Alan Walker playing heel ref by not seeing the correct finish. I have been getting rave reviews about the matches between these two teams with the returning Fire/Flame team along with Ray/Lee being give the ball to run with.

Ricky Rowland introduced WWE Hall of Famer, "The Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart and T-Bone, who got everyone stoked for some action. "T-Bone" Terrence Ward and "Magic Man" Jimmy Rhodes would be calling the action.

Opening Match-Battle Royal To Decide The #1 Contender For The European Championship Featuring, The Memphis Mafia (Johnny Morton/John Cage), managed by KC Gold, Team Hollister (Jamie Jay/Jamie Lee), The Beach Bums (Mark Wolfe/Kaliki), Silas, Scott Fury, "The Renegade Superstar" Christopher Lee, Mike Anthony, "Hot Rod" John Ellison, and Regulator-It didn't take long for business to pick up in this survival of the fittest. Scott Fury was the first to see his European title hopes fly out the window as he flew over the top-rope. Regulator, Christopher Lee, and Mike Anthony would also suffer the same fate as they were also eliminated. The big man, Silas, towered over the competition and appeared to be the odds on favorite to take home the prize due to his overwhelming size and presence. Silas would spend most of his time fighting off attacks from every direction, but eventually the numbers would catch up with him and be too much to overcome as the rest of the combatants would team up and dump the giant over the ropes. Johnny Morton would eliminate Kaliki. The tag teams featured in this war worked as a cohesive unit. Team Hollister delivered a double dropkick on The Mafia. Beach Bum, Mark Wolfe was eliminated. The final five consisted of Jamie Jay and Jamie Lee from Team Hollister, The Memphis Mafia, Johnny Morton and John Cage, and ASWF Hall of Famer, "Hot Rod" John Ellison. Both members of The Memphis Mafia were eliminated, but as they were complaining on the outside, inside the ring, Jamie Jay pulled down the top-rope for his partner, Jamie Lee, to deliver a flying attack on the Mafia. "Hot Rod" John Ellison would outsmart Jamie Jay by ducking out of the way of his running attack. Jay would also land on The Memphis Mafia on the outside. Your winner and NEW #1 Contender for the European Championship, "Hot Rod" John Ellison!

2nd Match-"Mr. Awesome" Tommy Wayne and his partner, Lil Devil vs ASWF X-Division Champion, "The Suicide King" Ray Ray teaming with Kid J. At the beginning, Tommy Wayne said that Lil Devil is 4X the size of Kid J. When Ray Ray entered the ring, Wayne ducked out, claiming that he, "Couldn't hit his own brother." This sparked a "Chicken" chant from the loud Batesville crowd. Wayne started things off with Kid J. Wayne dropped down on his knees to lock up with Kid J. Wayne would toss J down on the mat, but Kid J would retaliate by slapping Wayne and catching him with a drop toe hold. Lil Devil would try to slam Ray Ray, but Ray would counter with a slam of his own. Lil Devil would have to talk things over with Wayne. Let's see what they came up with. Lil Devil and Ray Ray locked up in a collar and elbow tie up. Lil Devil would try to suplex Ray Ray. Uh-oh! Ray Ray would easily counter with a textbook vertical suplex of his own to Lil Devil. While Ray Ray had Lil Devil in the corner, Tommy Wayne ran with a head of steam, but missed. Tommy Wayne and Lil Devil retreated to the outside. Ray Ray would try to throw his partner Kid J on Wayne and Lil Devil, but Wayne would catch Kid J and throw him down on the grass. Ray Ray would jump out of the ring on to Wayne with a flip. Back inside, Wayne would dodge Ray Ray's corkscrew splash from the top-rope. Double team offense by Wayne and Lil Devil on Ray Ray. Wayne connects with a running knee in the corner. The tag was made sending in the fresher man, but Wayne distracted the ref. Kid J kicked Wayne where the sun doesn't shine. Ray Ray executed a flipping neckbreaker out of the corner to get the win. Your winners, Ray Ray and Kid J!

3rd Match-ASWF European Champion, Tim Hanson vs Current ASWF Champion, Justin "The Juice" Smart. Smart took a moment to inform Hanson how good he is and that Hanson is not in his league. Hanson with his adrenaline pumping, snapped a couple quick arm drags, followed by a side headlock and dropkick on Smart. During Hanson's second attempt at a dropkick, Smart put on the brakes in the ropes and connected with a dropkick of his own. Hanson would try to build a comeback, but Smart stopped it quickly with a poke to the eyes. Justin Smart would deliver a slingshot somersault senton from the apron, following it up with a running elbow drop. Hanson would catch Smart with a sunset flip. While Hanson was talking with the ref, he pushed him out of harm's way. Smart would blast Hanson with the championship belt and make the pin to get the three count. Tim Hanson was busted open from the impact.

"T-Bone" Terrence Ward thanked "The Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart, who was a tremendous help in getting the word out about the show. T-Bone also asked the Batesville, Arkansas crowd to give themselves a round of applause and said that Foghat and The Jimmie Van Zant Band would be taking the stage, later that night, but here at the wrestling, there are some big name superstars in the house!

4th Match-CM2(CM Squared)("The Walking Miracle" Cason McClain and "Big Rig" Cody Murdoch vs Former WCW Superstar, Buff "The Stuff" Bagwell and his partner, "Mr. Muscle" Morgan Williams. Crowd got behind Buff and Morgan. There was a "You Suck" chant for CM Squared. They also called Big Cody Murdoch, "Porkchop". When Cason McClain made the tag to his big partner, Cody Murdoch, Buff decided to help him get in the ring by lifting the ropes. Funny stuff! Buff and Morgan took it to McClain and Murdoch in the early going, but the tide shifted when Morgan was running the ropes and caught a knee to the back. Buff got a "Muscle" chant going to try and revive his partner. McClain caught Morgan with a spinning kick. Again, Buff started a "You Suck" chant directed toward CM2. The big man, Cody Murdoch would spit at Buff, while he was standing in the corner. CM Squared would double team Morgan Williams. Cody Murdoch delivered a devastating spinebuster on Williams. Buff ran in to make the save during the pinfall attempt. Buff would also let Cason McClain know that he is number one. Morgan really needed to make a tag. He took a beaten. Top-rope elbow drop by Cason McClain on Morgan. Morgan Williams started to fight back. Morgan would connect with a diamond cutter on Cody Murdoch and make the tag to Buff. Murdoch would tag in McClain. Buff was on fire, throwing out clotheslines and crashing CM Squared's heads together with a double noggin knocker. Buff punched McClain in the corner, while Morgan punched Murdoch in the corner on the otherside. Buff and Morgan would whip McClain and Murdoch into each other and roll them up with a double school boy for the pin and win. Following the match, Buff hoisted his partner, "Mr. Muscle" Morgan Williams, up on his shoulders to celebrate.

Buff would hang out in the ring during intermission to take pictures with the fans for ten bucks. This would also include getting a free 8x10. Rick and Scott Steiner, The Steiner Brothers would come out to the ring to take part in the meet and greet. You could get your picture with all three for twenty dollars. They made some good money because there was a very long line.

"Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock and Johnny Hawk made their way out. "Hollywood" Jimmy was waving the Mississippi state flag. On the mic, "Hollywood" Jimmy demanded that everyone stand up and salute the flag because Mississippi has a better state, better wrestlers, and the best football team than anything that ever came out of Arkansas. Out comes This year's newest WWE Hall of Famer, "The Birdman" Koko B. Ware, along with his bird, Frankie. "Hollywood" Jimmy said he had something to say and just because Koko is a WWE Hall of Famer, that don't mean nothing to him because Johnny Hawk is a Mississippi Hall of Famer. "Hollywood" Jimmy continued by saying, "I don't care if PETA is in the crowd, I'm gonna kill that bird!" "Hollywood" took out a rubber chicken and said he's gonna pluck out every feather and that will be the final result. Johnny Hawk said he's the best thing that ever hit that two bit town and, "If y'all don't be quite I will pack my bags and leave!" "Hollywood" Jimmy added, "And never come back!" Koko reminded them that they must have forgotten where they are at. "You are in Razorback Country and they will whip your butt. Koko told "Hollywood" that if he touched him, he would stick that pole where the sun don't shine. Johnny Hawk told Koko, "These redneck inbreds paid to see me! They didn't pay to see you!"

5th Match-Johnny Hawk, managed by "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock vs "The Birdman" Koko B. Ware-When the match got underway, Hawk accused Koko of hitting him with closed fists and pulling his tights. "Hollywood" Jimmy was catching so much heat from the crowd, that he had people pouring water on him just to try and cool him down. Hawk would gain the upper hand. "Hollywood" would choke Koko in the corner with the flag stick. On the outside, Jimmy would continue his assault by blasting Koko with a vicious shot to the back and choking him. Back in the ring, Hawk would put the boots to Koko and distracted the referee, while "Hollywood" struck Koko with the stick, once again. "Hollywood" was beating the hell out of Koko with that stick! Hawk tried to slam Koko, but "The Birdman" reversed it with a small package. "Hollywood" distracted the ref from making the count. Koko caught Hawk with a ddt, "Hollywood" Jimmy jumped up on the apron. Koko knocked Jimmy down and started hitting both "Hollywood" Jimmy and Johnny Hawk with the stick. This led to a disqualification. Then, Koko brought Jimmy into the ring, knocking him down and dropping the elbow between the legs. Before Koko left, he broke the stick holding the Mississippi state flag over his knee.

Demon X walked out for tag team action and grabbed the mic. Demon X introduced his partner, TNA Superstar and The Newest Member of The Main Event Mafia, "The Samoan Submission Machine" Samoa Joe!!! Joe wasn't wearing the face paint.

6th Match-Demon X and Samoa Joe vs The ASWF Tag Team Champions, LSD(Label Social Deviants) (Idol Bane/Cody Only)-Crowd got behind LSD. Demon X and Cody Only began the match. A quick clothesline sends Demon X on the outside. Double team from LSD, while Cody twisted Demon X's arm, Idol Bane flew off with an axe handle. Demon X would fight back with a kick to the mid section and a chop to the throat. Demon X made the tag to Samoa Joe, who, immediately, took it to Bane in the corner with a vengeance. Bane would start a comeback, but would catch a Demon X knee to the back, followed by a flying knee from Joe. Demon X knocked Only off the apron. Samoa Joe would splash Idol Bane in the corner and hit him with a jumping twisting enzuigiri. Joe would strike Bane with some wicked chops that rang throughout Batesville. Idol Bane would fight back, but would get caught in a sleeper by Joe. Bane managed to counter and nailed Joe with a jawbreaker, that opened the door for Bane to make the tag to a fresh Cody Only. Joe tagged in Demon X. Only would catch Dexon X running with a sidewalk slam. Cody Only would also administer an awesome spinebuster on Samoa Joe. Joe would fight back with a kick followed by a senton splash. In the end, Idol Bane pulled his partner, Cody Only, out of the line of fire which sent Demon X colliding into Samoa Joe. LSD would then double team Demon X delivering a face plant to get the win. Following the match, Demon X extended his hand to a disappointed Samoa Joe. Joe shook it, then kicked Demon X in the face and left the ring.

7th Match-TNA Knockouts Action featuring "The Hardcore Knockout" Roxxi vs "The Knockout Law" Traci Brooks-Traci got the crowd going. Just when I thought it couldn't get any hotter out at Riverside Park, it did. Roxxi intended her hand and reeled in Traci by catching her with a knee to the stomach. The crowd started booing Roxxi. Traci would counter with a drop toe hold, sending Roxxi into the ropes. Traci would follow with double knees to the back. After a few arm drags and clotheslines, Roxxi took a breather and started to leave, but Traci caught her. Traci proceeded to carry Roxxi around ringside, throwing her into the rail. Back in the ring, Traci delivered a smokin' hott breast splash or hooter splash, whichever you prefer, on Roxxi in the corner. When she tried it a second time, Roxxi turned things around and hit a splash of her own on Traci. Roxxi choked Traci in the ropes and then took it to Traci on the outside. Roxxi rammed Traci into the ring apron and raked her nails across Traci's back. Roxxi also returned the favor from earlier, by ramming Traci's beautiful face into the guardrail. Traci managed to fight out of the chin lock, but the two Knockouts collided. Traci would connect with a jawbreaker, followed by some chops and a flying lariat. This led to a near fall. Roxxi sent Traci into the corner and delivered a big boot. Roxxi scraped Traci's face across the mat. Traci managed to get up and catch Roxxi from behind, sending Roxxi into the ropes. Roxxi would stop herself in the ropes and would turn around and catch a spear from Traci Brooks, who picked up the win. Your winner, Traci Brooks!

8th Match-Tag Team Action featuring "The Human Highlight Reel" Austin Lane teaming with "Mr. Entertainment" Casino against "The Dog-Faced Gremlin" Rick Steiner and "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner, The Steiner Brothers! Before the match got started, Austin Lane grabbed the mic and told everyone to please shut up and, "For the record, my name is not Monkey Nuts!" That's right he said, Monkey Nuts, folks! I can't make this stuff up. That's definitely a new one. Casino said if you people don't shut up, y'all aren't going to see The Steiner Brothers because they're leaving. They started the leave, but Rick would chase them back into the ring, where Austin would slip while trying to escape Scott. Scott Steiner and Austin Lane started the match. Scott with an arm drag on Austin. Austin accused him of pulling the tights. Scott would slam Austin, who would, again, accuse him of pulling the tights. Then, Austin said Scott ain't got nothing on him and started a pushup contest with "The Genetic Freak". Scott would break that up. Rick would sneak in and catch Austin and Casino with a double clothesline and start barking and posing with Scott. Austin and Casino aborted and went to the outside, requesting a timeout. Once back in the ring, Casino locked up with Rick Steiner. Casino would send Rick into the corner and try to punch him, but Rick countered with a punch of his own. Rick knocked Austin off the apron. Casino would gain the advantage. Austin would hit a cheap shot on Rick, while he tied up in the ropes. Austin and Casino would take it to Rick. Casino flew in with a double axe handle on Rick's arm, which was being twisted by Austin. Rick would fight back, hitting Casino with a trademark Steiner-line, but Casino and Austin would quickly rebound and continue to double team Rick. Austin Lane taunted "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner by doing pushups. Austin would pull his kneepad down and deliver a bone-crushing knee to Rick's skull. Rick would turn things around by catching Austin in mid-air with a scoop slam and followed with a belly to belly suplex. Rick would make the tag to Scott. The Steiner Brothers had Austin's legs set up for a wishbone, but Rick dropped the elbow to Austin's leg. Belly to belly suplex from Scott on Austin. Rick threw Casino on the outside. Scott and Austin followed. Scott would hit Casino with a briefcase. Back in the ring, Scott would deliver many more clotheslines, slams, and suplexes to the team of Lane and Casino. Following an overhead belly to belly suplex, Scott Steiner put away Austin Lane, as he submitted to the Steiner Recliner. Your winners, The Steiner Brothers!

"Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock and X-Kaliber made their way out to the ring. "Hollywood" Jimmy said he's sure everyone is aware of the breaking news that's being reported all over the television and radio airwaves. CNN has even picked up on this story. Jimmy informed us that "Superstar" Bill Dundee was ran off the road in Nashville, Tennessee, earlier today, by Jerry "The King" Lawler. Jimmy added, "This is the worst news since I heard about Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett!" "The Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart came down to the ring. "Hollywood" said that Jimmy Hart is Lawler's good buddy and told Hart this is my time. Jerry "The King" Lawler walks out. "Hollywood" quickly confronted and put "The King" on the spot, by saying, "Tell everyone what you done, you gutless coward! You ran Dundee off the road because you were afraid you would get your butt kicked in the steel cage match!" Before Jerry addressed "Hollywood" Jimmy, he said, "It's great to be back in Batesville, Arkansas!" Then, Jerry said, "You're claiming I ran him off the road in Nashville, Tennessee. I'm from Memphis. Why would I go all the way to Nashville to run him off the road?" "Hollywood" Jimmy response was, "You would do anything to get out of that match with Dundee!" Jerry, then, turned his attention towards X-Kaliber, saying, "There's only one guy that could wear pink and black and that's Bret Hart. Sorry, it's just not working for you. The only thing you look like is something that I have flushed." Jerry asked everyone to look at their watches because this isn't going to take, but two minutes. Jimmy Hart told Lawler, "You can't deprive all these fans that's traveled here of that, so Hart made the match a 2-on-1 Handicap Match with Jerry "The King" Lawler taking on X-Kaliber and his partner, "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock with "the Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart as the Special Guest Referee!

Main Event-2-on-1 Handicap Match with Jerry "The King" Lawler taking on X-Kaliber and his partner, "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock with "The Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart as Special Guest Referee-Lawler took it to X-Kaliber and then, grabbing "Hollywood", but X-Kaliber would hit Lawler from behind. "Hollywood" Jimmy would try to hit "The King" with his cane, but Jimmy Hart would grab it away from him. "Hollywood" would later sneak up behind Lawler with a chain, but, once again, Jimmy Hart would take it from him. X-Kaliber took it to Lawler in the corner. That mischievous "Hollywood" Jimmy started to prepare some powder to throw in Lawler's eyes, but Jimmy Hart ended up kicking "Hollywood's" arms sending the powder into "Hollywood" Jimmy's own eyes. X-Kaliber punched Jimmy Hart. X-Kaliber and "Hollywood" Jimmy worked together on Lawler in the corner. "Hollywood" delivered a BIG splash on Lawler in the corner. Lawler would mount a comeback, punching X-Kaliber and dropping the strap. While Lawler had "Hollywood" trapped in the corner, "Hollywood" would throw X-Kaliber a set of handcuffs that X-Kaliber used to hit Lawler below the belt. Then, X-Kaliber and "Hollywood" Jimmy would grab Lawler's arm and start to handcuff it to the rope, but in the end in an unprecedented turn of events, it was "Hollywood" Jimmy's hand that was handcuffed to the rope. Jimmy Hart would kick "Hollywood" Jimmy's butt while he was tied up like a wild dog. While this was happening, Jerry "The King" Lawler gave X-Kaliber a Stone Cold Stunner, followed by a fist drop. Lawler finished off X-Kaliber with the piledriver to get the win. Your Winner, Jerry "The King" Lawler! After the match, Jerry Lawler grabbed the cane and was acting like he was going to hit "Hollywood's" head out of the park like his beloved Cleveland Indians. Lawler changed his batting technique and decided to ram the handle of the cane down low into "Hollywood's" records. Then, Lawler continued his assault by breaking the cane over "Hollywood" Jimmy's neck. Jerry would give the broken cane to a kid in the crowd that had a Lawler Rules sign. Very entertaining main event! Good stuff.

"The Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart told everyone to get ready for the big music extravaganza, coming up next with Foghat and Jimmie Van Zant! "T-Bone" Terrence Ward and "Magic Man" Jimmy Rhodes thanked everyone for coming out and said you can check out ASWF Wrestling every Saturday night in Tuckerman, Arkansas, at The Valiant Arena.

----Not sure about the crowd number, but last year I was told around 7000 were there for the show. If so, then this was not even close to that many people?? But, maybe were are talking only about those watching wrestling??...I hate that I missed some of this show, especially Joe vs LSD and Lane bumping for the Steiners. I would have loved to have seen Joe kick Demon X. LOL...I also hate that I missed what is being called a CLASSIC - Johnny Hawk vs Koko Ware. LOL Sorry I could not resist.

Brian Christopher Sentenced to Rehab!!

----Below is the story from wbbjtv.com. This will be Brian's third trip to rehab since we first reported a stint he spent in August, 2008. He was kicked out of the first rehab center and then completed a program sometime earlier this year in preparation of his interview with WWE in Memphis.

A former WWE Champion appeared in Jackson City Court, Monday morning. Brian Christopher Lawler, 37, of Lakeland, entered a guilty plea to a public intoxication charge.

The judge ordered Lawler to pay a $50 fine and attend 30 days of rehabilitation at Pathways.

Lawler was arrested early Friday morning. According to the police report, "Mr. Lawler was very unsteady on his feet, had slurred speech and once placed in custody became very belligerent."

The officer said that Lawler cursed and threatened him as he was arrested. At one point, the officer stated Lawler threatened to rip off his head.

Brian Lawler has been a professional wrestler for several years with different organizations including World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and Total Nonstop Action (TNA). He has performed using names including Brian Christopher and Grand Master Sexay.

In Case You Missed It!!

----Here are a couple of things that got people talking over the weekend that were posted on Friday and Saturday. Those two items have already been archived, so I thought I would link them for you.

Brian Christopher In Jail!!

and

Coach's Corner - "Eric Wayne - Road to Legacy or Path To Self Destruction?"

Tommy Rich Coming To The Area!!

----Tommy Rich will be in the area for a show on Saturday July 25th, but he is looking to be booked on that Friday before or Sunday after. For serious inquiries only - call 201-400-9344 for any of the promoters out there wanting to use him on Friday or Sunday night July the 24th and 26th. This could be a good opportunity for local groups that have about three weeks of promoting they could do. I would even suggest to some of the regular Saturday crews to consider a special Friday show in your building - it would come off special with Tommy "Wildfire" Rich featured.

Batesville Crowd Bigger This Year???

----Terrance Ward posted the following on www.wrestlingnewscenter.com.

I will be posting the results from this past weekend's events. ASWF hosted a show in Tuckerman on Friday the 26th and then in Batesville at Riverside Park on the 27th. I will have both results posted here on WNC by Tuesday night! Thanks to all of those who supported Saturday nights events and those who participated. It was a huge success. I was also told that we beat last years attendance, and I will have the actual number posted Monday night!

RassleResults: EPW Booneville, MS 6.27.09 - 1st TV Tapings!!

EPW taped their first two TV shows Saturday night in front of a loud and lively crowd in Booneville.

Show #1:

"Prime Time" (Nick Grimes & David Andrews) defeated STD (LSD & PCP). This match had a crazy finish - watch the broadcast to see what happened.

Hakim Insane (w/Osama Insane) stole a victory from Rick Morgan. Rick was not happy, and I don't blame him for being mad. Watch to find out what happened.

Bonecrusher won a handicap match over Kilo Green & Lightning.

New Kids (Cassanova Kid & Tysin Starr) defeated Revolution (Cyrus & Chazz Stone). There were some unusual stipulations to the match - watch to see what Cyrus & Chazz had to do after the match.

Show #2:

Pain, Inc. (Izzy Rotten & Brett Michaels) defeated PHAT Foundation (Justin Rhodes & Chris Fontaine) to win the EPW Tag Team belts. Great match! Be sure to watch it when it airs.

Soultaker destroyed his opponent in what may be the shortest match in EPW history. Watch to see who was on the receiving end of Soultaker's wrath and see just how quickly the match ended.

Gino Sydal pulled off an upset by defeating David Andrews (w/Nick Grimes). Watch to see how this one went down - Geno took advantage of a situation and got the win.

Buzz Harley vs. JR Mauler - in a steel cage- loser retires from wrestling - this was an awesome match, as brutal and bloody as it gets. In the end, JR mauler won the match. Watch to see how it all went down - great match!

There were around 100 in the building, I did not get a chance to do a head count.

The first EPW show will air Wednesday night, 7-15-09, at 10:30 p.m. on My Mississippi Network. That's the same station WWE Smackdown is aired on, so if you are in Mississippi and you can get Smackdown, you can get EPW Wrestling. In Tupelo it's Comcast channel 3.

Congrats to EPW on their success!

No EPW show Saturday, July 4. EPW returns to Booneville Saturday, 7-11-09 with another TV taping at the EPW Arena on Hwy. 145 in Booneville. Don't miss the action!

Credit: "Axeman" Randall Lewis @www.wrestlingnewscenter.com

----I honestly wish this group luck with TV, but after seeing the results of the first two shows, there might be one good match on both shows. I would not ever put a cage match on TV. This group might do better doing a magazine like format TV putting over results and feuds. That would take a strong announcer personality and guys that could do promos though...I do know that Dustin Burcham is doing some of the production and his stuff has been good on the youtube.com I have seen....Wednesday nights at 10:30 PM is going to be a hard time slot also...I know "Axeman" has been probably told to post the results the way he did, since they want people to watch the TV, but it is not a good way to post them for 90% of the others that will not get to watch the TV.

TFW Returns!!

TFW has announced that the organization has a new building and will begin having shows again on Friday nights, starting THIS FRIDAY NIGHT! The new TFW Arena is located at 2913 Hwy. 178 in Skyline. It is on the opposite side of the road, approx. 3/4 mile down from where TFW was located before. This is a very nice building (that meets all the codes LOL) and is AIR CONDITIONED!

On the card: THE ASYLUM, Syn, DJ Stunner, "The Future" Chris Styles, Josh Matthews, Mason, "Bad Attitude" Tony Dabbs, "Big Daddy" Neno, Neil "The Real Deal" Taylor, Chop Top the Clown, Suicide, "Southern Thunder" Chris Kilgore, and more!

Tickets will be $7.00 for adults. Kids 5 & under admitted free.

Don't miss the return of TFW this Friday night, 7-3-09, in Skyline. The air conditioning will be on! It will be a great show! See you there!

A Piece of my Mind June 28th 2009 by "The Big Cheese" Sal Corrente

There have been many deaths in wrestling. It is no secret that "natural causes" have not listed as the cause of death for most of them. This past week there has been a lot of talk about death in entertainment. It started with Ed McMahon, then Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson. The public response is normally critical when wrestlers or celebrities die. In most cases the person is looked upon as weak and messed up. It is really time to start placing the blame on the doctors that are star struck that turn the medical world in to a game of Candyland. In the case of Ed McMahon and Farrah it was just illness. It appears bad decisions led to Michael Jackson's death and could have been prevented. In our business it’s not much different and we all need to be held accountable for our actions. But how about these doctors that give out medication that ends up killing people? The three stupidest words in this country are YOU’RE THE DOCTOR. This is a world where professionals in many fields, especially medical, are basically in a position of authority. There are various reasons why they enable us to do things that they shouldn’t. I am sure financial gain plays a part as well as being awe struck by people in the public eye. It has to stop and stop now. Weak people can’t be enabled to do bad things.

The fear has to be put in these people that they will be prosecuted to the fullest degree. It’s clear what goes on and how people abuse power. I realize that the victims are weak people but when you are given authority in this country you have to be trusted with it. Whether it’s wrestling or anything else you people like Andrew “Test” Martin and others leave us to soon because of a blatant abuse of authority.

I know Michael Jackson has been controversial in his later years but in the same place so many of my wrestling memories were born Madison Square Garden I saw the Jackson Five. I won’t ever forget that night either. Sometimes we just have to say what we have to say.

Before I finished this word came out that Billy Mays the pitchman for so many products also passed at a young age. I hope there is no crazy story that comes from his death.

This picture was taken at WrestleReunion 1 in Tampa. At this time when money is being raised for Steve to help him I thought it was a good time to use this picture.

This isn’t a normal article it hasn’t been a normal week but it is a piece of my mind.
