Legacy Wrestling is done....and passing the savings onto you!

Legacy Wrestling promoter Jack Lord posted this on facebook today about the future of Legacy Wrestling in Centre, AL.

The Legacy is Over.....

I'm sure everyone has seen my posts last week about having a staph infection and being in the hospital for several days. I haven't told everything about what else happened until now. My doctor said I was very close to having a cardiac incident (heart attack) because I had started a pretty quick buildup of fluid around my heart as a result of the infection. Luckily, I got to the ER in time and they were able to start me on IV antibiotics and headed off any trouble. Unfortunately, the doctor told me that since my immune system was still fragile from the staph contacted through my knee replacement two years ago and my bout with colon cancer last year, that he highly recommended I eliminate as much stress from my life as possible as that further weakened my immune system.

After a lot of though and prayer, I have decided to end Legacy Wrestling. I love our product, our wrestlers and staff, and the fans, but I owe my health to my family. I wanted to own my own show for years, and while I've had an amazing time with this, it has also been very, very stressful and that is something I'm not able to deal with anymore.

I love wrestling and always will, but it time for me to step away. I retired from active competition two years ago and I meant it. Now it's time to fully leave and enjoy my retirement.

I do have another project that I want to pursue with the business, but it won't involve being in the ring, booking or promoting any shows. I'll keep the details to myself for now, but if it works out, everyone will know soon enough.

Professional wrestling has been my life since I was 26 years old. I traveled all over the this country, got to be in the ring with some of the biggest names in the business, and made countless friends along the way. I lived my dream, but now that dream has ended. Strangely enough, I really have a great sense of peace about it. My dream now is just to be the best husband, father and grandfather I can be. Wrestling took me away from all that for many years, but it has also, finally, brought me back home.

I want to thank all the amazing talent that has worked for me over the last 7 weeks, with a special thanks to Mike "Cathead" Kines, Todd Zane and Adam Roberts, who worked so hard to make Legacy the best indie show we could be. We were, by the way. I'd also like to thank Sonny Goolsbey, a friend for over 20 years who provided us with security and anything else we needed. Todd Mayo, who gave his time, talent and sweat to doing everything...literally, everything. Chris "Flatfoot" Ingram, the master of all media and jack of all trades. To Margaret and Gina Gentry, who ran the front like the pros they are. To my daughter, Grace, that showed as the ring announcer that she has what it took to be my kid. And lastly, and most importantly, to my wife, Sarah, who backed me, believed in me and supported me in this dream.

And the fans. Who supported me in everything I did over the last 26 years. You booed me, you cheered me, you believed in me. I also believed in you. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, thank you!

Complete show set-up for Sale! Ring and Accessories!

Here's you chance to own you own wrestling show. I have a top of the line, heavy-duty, Highspots 16' ring, with new canvas and ring apron, metal steps, 17 pieces of metal guard rail, floor pad (enough to cover three sides completely or four sides with the corners left open), 200 chairs (100 in almost new condition, the rest in fair condition) and the sound system (PA needs to be worked on, but the mixer is brand new, two big Peavy speakers, cordless mike and a hard mic with 50' cord). I'm asking $7000 for everything. The ring alone sells for $7500.

If anyone is interested in purchasing the ring and accessories, contact Jack on facebook or email me at genejackson95@gmail.com and I'll get you in touch with him.
