"Book Tour 2008"!!

----Thanks again to the cast and crew last night for the first night of the book tour. I had a great time and the book was over!! LOL I just want to remind everyone that I will be in Newbern, TN at 1:00 PM today selling and signing books. I will also be in Ripley, TN tonight for TLCW!! Pictured is the book being put over by..Kayfabe!!! Kayfabe!! LOL

Arena Report: LAW Rector, AR 2.08.08

----First stop on the “Book Tour” and I would like to thank LAW & the Rector fans. We had a very successful time and everyone loved the book. Thanks!!

----Shannon Lee beat Evan Gelistico. Just your basic psychology match – nothing wrong – nothing special. Evan was good with the crowd, but some of his moves looked weak. He never stopped on the marks and they ate it up. Gelistico went for a suplex with Leee sitting on the top turnbuckle – Lee pushed him off and swantoned him for the pin & win. [*1/2]

----Jeff O’Dell comes out with Idol Bane and says that Derrick King is coming out to apologize for what he did a few weeks back. DK came out to a big pop. DK said he apologized, which shocked O’Dell and the fans were surprised. O’Dell then announced that on next Friday DK will wrestle Idol Bane in a “Love/Hate Match – No DQ/NO Limit”, which I guess is just a fancy name for a street fight. DK then accepted the bout and told O’Dell that he didn’t apologize earlier for what he HAD done, but apologized for THIS – and superkicked Bane. “The Golden Boy” Greg Anthony jumped in and they beat up DK until Brandon Espinosa made the save to set up the main event. Good TV.

----Dell Tucker beat Sgt. Savage. Nothing much wrong with this bout other than Savage is green as grass and probably is not ready to be in the ring. Tucker was calling all the spots in heat and Savage was trying. Savage should have been baby here as there were still people cheering him. He is from the area. I was looking forward to seeing the new Tucker heel persona, but he was baby here. [*1/2]

----Johnny Vinyl/Rockin Randy came out to call out Jeff O’Dell to talk to him about the “mystery” guy from last week. O’Dell went to explain that his name was Pappy and a “family member..his brother” let him out of the Hale County Institution. O’Dell announced that Pappy’s brother was “Psycho!!” and the crowd popped huge for his name. When Arnez/Pappy came out, there still wasn’t as big a pop as there was just for the Psycho announcement.

----“The Asylum” [Pappy/Arnez] beat by DQ Johnny Vinyl/Rockin Randy. Another solid match with nothing bad, nothing fantastic. Crowd got into the heat as Pappy took a pretty good beating. Arnez hot tag and Arnez was going for the win, when Pierre Abernathy jumped in and they beat the hell out of Arnez. Randy held a chair on his knee while Vinyl [pictured above] took another chair and jumped from the second rope slamming both chairs. Abernathy was on the mic during the whole time and was real good. By the time he left the ring, the crowd wanted to kill him. [**]

----Slim Pickens comes out to say that he will wrestle anyone in the dressing room. Flash Flanagan walks out and tells him that he will wrestle him. Flash says that the best thing that Flash could do is just walk back to the dressing room, because he was going to give him a beating. Flash mentioned that when he was a rookie he had to wrestle guys like Terry Gordy, Jerry Lawler, Bill Dundee and….Slim finally decided he want to wrestle Flash and his chest would have done better if he would have just went to the back. LOL

----Flash Flanagan beat Slim Pickens in the best bout of the night. This was close to being a squash with Flash giving Slim some comeback spots, but it was designed to get over the veteran pro vs the rookie. Good mat work on the start with Flash all over him. Flash hit a couple of real stiff chops. At one point, Flash picked him up Slim like he was going to do a “Razor’s Edge” on him, but then ran him into the turnbuckle. It looked nasty!! Flash took him outside the ring on both sides and was real stiff in front of the crowd. Slim might have taken too much of a beating here, because the fans were not chanting as much as I have heard them for Slim. Flash finished him off with Slim in the “tree of woe” and Flash jumped from the top turnbuckle [in the same corner as Slim was hanging] stomping Slim in the face. He then pinned him. [***]

----Derrick King/Brandon Espinosa [pictured below] beat Idol Bane/Greg Anthony. Good solid psychology. Espinosa has a good look, but still needs work. Bane seems to improve every time I see him. Espinosa took the heat, but probably took too much without getting many hope spots. At one point he came out of heat and did too much, before they cut him off. Espinosa was coming out of heat and tried an enzuguri and TGB ducked it. I marked out for that. Thank you!! Double down after a double closeline. Hot tag had DK all over the places with a few false finishes. Espinosa ended up pinning TGB with his finisher. TGB hit a sweet belly to belly during all of this also. [**1/2]

----55 in the building. They did some kind of gimmick where you get $2 off your ticket, so I am not sure about the gate…It was great to see Adrian Stratton and “Tombstone”. TLCW Commish Mark Tipton was in the crowd also… Gelistico, Espinosa,Vinyl and Abernathy are all from the St. Louis area. They have worked in this area before with ASWF. My fave of the group is Vinyl. Espinosa also has a good look and could turn into a good worker…O’Dell is a really good heel manager and would be good with any of the bigger companies in this area…Vinyl’s mic work was real good. He was also wearing a Liger T-shirt – that shirt was over with me. Randy and him make a good team and with the add of Abernathy to the mix, they are going to make a good heel three man tag vs Psycho, Arnez and Pappy…TGB/DK were arguing over who “Wrestler of the Year 2007” was. In an angle TGB is LAW “Wrestler of the Year”, but DK showed TGB and the crowd the front of Yearbook 2007 with his photo…LAW has another solid crew – I just wished they could draw more!!...Psycho was backstage.

RassleResults: TIWF Brownsville, TN 1.08.08

----John “ Biscuit” Roberts beat T- Bone…JR Rich beat Jonathan Storm…AC Havoc beat “The Real Deal” Tim Edwards…“Hardknocks” Hooligan beat Tank Turner…Highrollers beat Wildside and Dazzlin’ Dixie…Albino Rhino beat The Outlaw
…Danny B. Goode/ Lawman Williams beat Iron Jake Johnson/ Samoan Raja…“Anything Goes Match” Jawbreaker Jesse Dee beat The Torture King

----163 people in the building…Proceeds from this event helped raise over $1,000.00 for the Katrina Byrd Medical Fund!! Great job guys!!...Who is doing the “Torture King” gimmick?? Isn’t that a character off the old Nintendo wrestling??

A Piece of my Mind Feb 8th 2008 by "The Big Cheese" Sal Corrente

In the seventy’s there was a football coach named George Allen. He coached a Washington Redskins team that was known as the "Over the Hill Gang" . They were a bunch of veterans and guys that were tossed to the side. He made them into a great team of competitors.

Much like those Redskins, the WWE puts most of its resources into a few people Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and The Undertaker. They are all men that have made the company a lot of money. They are talented individuals but how much life is left in their careers? If managed intelligently these guys careers could be extended. In the case of Shawn and The Undertaker, I am not even sure these guys have the internal drive and desire to continue into the distant future.

When does Triple H actually start learning how to run a company the size of the WWE? The WWE historically chooses to drain resources rather than manage them properly for the long term. It’s clear that the talent pool out there is very limited these days. In a world where the draft pool is so limited you must manage your talent better. It has to be clear to everyone that Jeff Hardy is getting huge reactions from the crowds these days. It should also be clear that this guys body is beat up. He still continues to take ridiculous chances and endanger his body. How does that help the WWE long term? Who is protecting and managing Jeff to ensure he is around for the long term.

So the WWE won’t be on the CW Network after this year. What does this mean to those of us that chose to indulge in Smackdown. Well I think it means that Vince McMahon has something up his sleeve. It will take time to see how this all plays out. It wasn’t all that long ago that WWE left the USA Network and went to Spike TV. In my opinion that was a miserable mistake. I would hope that Vince is smart enough this time to not repeat mistakes especially big ones. It would be hard to believe that a man who operates a fiscally strong company with a slim roster and no real headliner who make another knucklehead move. So all in all I believe Vince will end up pulling a rabbit out of his hat and coming up with something big for this one.

I have had the pleasure of spending time with two of the biggest legends in Professional Wrestling. I spent some time around Nature Boy Buddy Rogers and a lot of time around Wrestling's Living Legend Bruno Sammartino. I have heard many stories about Buddy Rogers and had a chance to experience what it was like to be in his company. I have heard many things about Buddy Rogers that don’t make me think very much of the man. I do recognize that he was a great performer and could have been of a lot more value if he wasn’t such an arrogant person.

I have spent a lot of time traveling with Bruno Sammartino and, as a general rule, we talk numerous times a week. He is a stand up guy who I have hired to work for me in the past. The only thing that I can tell you that I believe is the same about these two men is that they conduct themselves like stars. They give off a totally different vibe when you’re around them ... the vibe of a champion.

It’s funny, but Dusty Rhodes has many times been compared to the common man but aside from Ric Flair, when you compare other wrestlers to Rogers and Sammartino they are all common men. I have seen how people handle themselves around Bruno and most men adjust their behavior and speak to him in a different way and listen very intently. The closest thing to that type of presence that I have seen today is Randy Orton but for sure he is a lot closer to a Buddy Rogers type then a Bruno Sammartino type. If it was me I’d rather be compared to Sammartino than Rogers.

The picture from this article is one of Tammy “Sunny” Sytch she sent them to me and said that I could use them in my article as long as I gave credit to someone I have known for years. The photographer for this one is Bob Mulrenin someone that I met as soon as I got in the wrestling business. It is my pleasure when I think about guys like Bob it always brings back good memories of how the wresting business used to be. I think Tammy looks incredible WWE what are you waiting for?

This has been a piece of my mind

BT NOTES

----Why does a black wrestler have to be called black?? Doesn't the fans know the difference??...Funny how the owner of the company, Buzz Harley, is crowned the champion...J-Division?? What does the J stand for?? Justanotherreasontohaveabelt?? Why even have two belts for a promotion that only draws 50 people?? One single title and a set of tag champs is plenty.

"Coach's Corner" by Brian Tramel

----Did you get a chance to listen to Trent Van Drisse’s “Jerkin The Curtin” with Rodney & Ron West? The West PPV idea is good, but can it work?? Something that Rodney West brought up is so true. Most TV shows you can watch online the day after or just hours after, if you miss them. But, guess what?? They are free!! Will the wrestling consumer buy it?? The cult following group CHIKARA did three PPVs last year and their “success” of them made them come to the decision that they will not run anymore this year. Their PPVs were only $2.99 and ran for 40 minutes long. I think a group like SAW, who has a free TV online, could within in the year offer a PPV for say $9.99 for one of their big shows. Ron West came off as a little out of touch with the business. “The idea is…” was said so many times I almost screamed. All that said West does seem to be as genuine as a circus/wrestling guy can be. He does want to bring back “wrestling” and that is a good thing. This group also has some good guys like Derrick King, Bill Dundee, Stan Lee, Kevin White and Michael St. John.

----In the world of television you can take a guy like John Schneider, who has been a Duke boy and Superman’s dad, and turn him into a porn king just like they have done on one my fave TV shows Nip/Tuck. The greatest perv of all time Vince McMachon has come up with another great idea. Besides having to watch a midget bite his ass on Monday night Vince’s new angle has one of the talented guys on his roster Paul Burchill and Katie Lea [pictured] starting what is rumored as an incest angle. Now, Burchill had one of the coolest gimmicks with the pirate gimmick, but guess what?? Vince had no idea how this would get over?? LOL It goes to show you how many wrestling guys are actually in a “tunnel” when they don’t even know how popular the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies were. I know you guys will remember me doing a major story on Vince releasing his DVD with the revelation that he wanted an angle that had Stephanie’s baby to turn out to be his; right?? Sources say Vince is saying that incest is one of the biggest sellers in porn right now, so it would be the kind of thing to do a storyline with. So we now judge our wrestling by porn standards?? Probably have for years. My question would be to Vince – if they told you that Scat movies were the most popular movies right now, would have crap fights on your show. Are have you already did that??

----How can a wrestling show screw up so much, but prove they have tons of potential whenever they want?? It seems like TNA is good at this process of putting on crap TV shows and then out of the blue comes a great match or angle or something. Last year one of the top TV bouts I watched was a bout with Samoa Joe vs Christian. TNA presented “Global Impact” and from start to finish this was one of best TV shows I will probably see all year long. Production was so slick and glossy that I could almost feel it. They got over every point and got over the fact how important Japanese wrestling is to the workers. Even if it wasn’t important, when you got done watching that show then you believed it was. Why doesn’t every wrestling show take the time to build like this?? This kind of formula might be something that would work for various indy promotions. Just spend the hour getting over EVERYONE and then show one big match at the end to showcase talent. I also thought the Kurt Angle vs Yugi Nagata was proof that there is still pro wrestling out there somewhere – you just have to look for it. I thought it was real good match – both guys are so realistic and great workers.

----The start of the rerun season has had been searching around to watch other promotions on the net. I can’t sit thru WWE TV and I have always liked my wrestling with a little Memphis feel to it also. If you get a chance go to www.thesuperstation.tv and watch SAW TV show that is taped in Millersville, TN and has seen some crowd increases in the last few weeks. The show’s production is very good for indy wrestling. It is put together by Nashville area wrestler Krull and he does a great job. Jack Johnson is about 100 times better than Corey Maclin and I like Michael St. John also. They had an interview with a rookie that was real scripted, but it was better than half of the guys in the local promotions. They also work with all the area promotions that are running shows in the area. They tape their show on Friday night, so they help all the guys promote their Saturday night shows. Why does Corey not do that?? Why does he not help the local guys that run shows using the same guys that work Memphis?? Doug Gilbert and Tommy Rich had two separate great pieces on the Episode 31 where they sit down with Reno Riggins. My faves on this show are Rick Santel [not a great worker, but like his gear and persona], Paul Adams [really good manager], Tribal Nation [Indian gimmick – both guys seem to try], Big Rigg Bully [tons of charisma], Damian Adams [small guy, but good look – anybody know the background on this guy – who trained him and such??] and “Boogie Woogie Boy” Gary Valiant [tons of charisma – looks like a member of “Family of Pain”].

----I remember saying that this kid would be the “stand out” when it came to “rookie of the year”. But, maybe this year might be his better year. He placed second in votes, but probably was not seen by as many people as the winner Ramsey Cahill or even Slim Pickens. This year could be the year to watch Eric Wayne. The ironic thing is that if this guy stays healthy then I might be writing this every year. There are wrestlers that you see coming up that you can just say, “Hey this kid has it.” And, Eric Wayne is one of those guys. This coming Sunday afternoon he will attempted to do something that not many people at this stage of career have even attempted to do and that is work a one hour bout. He will have to have a good steady partner in this dance and most I have talked with feel that Kid Nickels will provide that for him, since they have worked and trained together. I have been privy to other angles and plans for Eric as the year goes by and the guy is going to be thrown into the spotlight. He will be given his chance to shine – it will be up to him to prove he is capable. His father, Ken Wayne, had to do the same thing as he worked hard and changed the style a bit and actually became a better worker than his father – Buddy Wayne. Can Eric turn into a better worker than his dad?? I think Ken expects it and lots of us arm chair experts also do. Before the year is up, I would love to see Wayne in the ring with Stan Lee, Derrick King, Flash Flanagan, Pokerface or Alan Steele.

United Wrestling League News

Fresh off their interview with Trent Van Drisse on 'Jerkin' the Curtain' last night, the West's sent out the following info today about their upcoming pay-per-view webcast that will now begin airing on March 9th. Also, check out Cheap Heat Radio on Feb 25th at 10am when we will talk to UWL announcer Michael St. John and on Friday March 7th at 10am, we will be joined by UWL Star Bull Buchanan. Here's the press release from the UWL.
===========================================
We have to move the PPV to Sunday, March 9 at 7:30pm due to problems we had Saturday. We will tape the show Saturday, March 8 in Piedmont and have it ready to watch Sunday night.

United Wrestling League is only one month away from its Ultimate Pro Wrestling Challenge. We thank everyone who has dropped by and we are so looking forward to our big kick off. We are putting the finishing touches on the event.

The "14" Pro Wrestlers are ready for the Ultimate Pro Wrestling Challenge. As we get closer some casualites have taken place but we march on as the "14" get ready but now having to protect their position in the UPWC for a single loss could cost them their chance. RassleResults: RWA Jonesboro, AR 1.2.08 - Jamie Jay's Mom Gets Kicked!!

THE RESULTS

----Loose Cannon defeated Chris Steele…Deadly Dale beat Medieval…Rodney Mack presented his 5 minute White Boy Challenge and beat Gary Diamond again…Jazz beat Prince Tavian and then Tavian challenged her for next week…
Grudge Match: Jamie Jay beat San Francisco Treat by DQ…Ali Stevens beat Loose Cannon pinning Rottn Randy.

----Over a 100 in the crowd…They ran a hot angle during the Jamie Jay vs SFT match. Treat brought out a chair so Jamie Jay’s mom could sit down and watch “her snot nosed punk kid get beat up.” SFT got DQ’ed for hitting the ref. He then went outside the ring and kicked Jay’s mom in the face. I love that!! They set up for a Lumberjack strap match next week with Jay vs SFT…Ali was suppose to work Randy, but he claim to have a hurt neck from last week, so Cannon jumped Ali. Finish had Ali pinning Randy, when he got in the ring to interfere. Ali this week vs Cameron Cage/Chazz Wesson in a handicap match. If Ali wins, then he gets 5 minutes with Randy...A correction on the RWA results from last week: Cannon and Medieval beat Steel and Dale in a tag match. They didn't have singles matches....the stuff with the cane was the finish to the tag match. Also, Rodney Mack did face Gary Diamond again later in the show. Gary came out taped up from the stuff earlier in the show. Rodney popped him with his big chain he brings to the ring with him and beat him. Gary bled big-time.

THE DIZZERT

----Aaron Polston, as many of you know, has been gone since the first week of this promotion. He stated on his myspace page, “I have now officially left RWA Wrestling as of January 23. I helped Frank Martin get Royal Wrestling Alliance started which was my plan. But due to personal & health issues I have decided to leave RWA Wrestling.” He goes on to say, “Stay tune to Myspace for update on when I plan to return with my own show.” ??? Polston has to be one of the most inconsistent promoters in this area. He starts and runs and bunch of shows and then he is gone..no he is back..no he is gone..and he will be back. LOL…San Francisco Treat is the booker of this show. If kicking Jay’s mom was his idea, then I will give him some credit.

----140+ paid with over 180 in building with a gate close to $840

A Piece of My Mind Feb 5th 2008 by "The Big Cheese" Sal Corrente

If you read my column regularly you are aware that many things I have to say about Jerry “The King Lawler” are not very positive. In fact, many are laced with sarcasm. This article will tell you about some of my earlier dealings with Jerry Lawler. Let me start out by saying that until I went to work for Memphis Wrestling I never had a bad experience with Jerry Lawler. I want to also say not only did I not have a bad experience with him but they were all actually great experiences.

This past weekend I was out driving on my way to meet Jimmy Hart for lunch in Tampa, Fl. and I drove past a building that I had worked in several times. It was the Manatee Civic Center in Palmetto, Fl. We did an IWA Television taping for Rob Russen in the building that was either for Sports Channel America or The Sunshine Network. On that show we had Diamond Dallas Page when he was still a commentator/ring announcer. It was also the first time I met the future and future ex- Mrs. Page Faulkinburg, Kimberly. We had commentary done by Lee Marshall. We had Steve Keirn, Kerry Von Erich, Chief Jules Strongbow, Robert Fuller, Tommy Rogers, Brickhouse Brown, Dennis Knight(The future Mideon) along with long time often televised enhancement talent like Bob Cook and many others.

I was the booker for the company it was really only Rob and I working on things which in retrospect was a mistake. We should have hired someone like Lawler to help since he had been working on television for years. We knew what we were doing but there were way too many moving parts for the amount of backstage staff that we had. I can remember having to get everyone together in the dressing room because things were not working out. We were not getting the right amount of time out of guys we were trying to give TV time to. So I was rather upset that we weren’t hitting our times. So in frustration I said "look you guys all want TV time. I give it to you and you’re in and out of the ring in two minutes". At that point everyone was quiet and listening and Jerry Lawler said "Sal, just tell us what you want and you will get it". I can’t remember anything else about that night in a negative way. It’s funny but something that stayed in my mind so clearly over the years especially how young I was at the time. This event happened on March 24th 1990, I was twenty seven years old at the time. I remember Lawler doing that like it was yesterday and have told many people this story. In court Jerry Lawler testified that he had no recollection of ever working for me in the past. It’s funny but it may have been one of his only truthful statements made under oath. I truly believe he had no recollection of me or that night.

On another night in the same building Jerry “The King” Lawler worked with Bam Bam Bigelow. I was the referee for that match and as always Rob Russen’s booker. I can remember Jerry being so funny in the ring that I had a hard time keeping a straight face. At one point Jerry said "Sal stop laughing" and I said "Jerry I can’t. Shut up would ya". We had a great match where I took a splash from Bam Bam in the turnbuckle. I think Jerry pulled me into it. You know for a big man and a legit tough guy Bam Bam was light as a feather I never felt him. Once again, a great night and another excellent experience with Jerry Lawler.

In our final time in that building we used my long time friend The Junkyard Dog vs. Jerry “The King” Lawler for the title. On this night I borrowed a finish from “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes. I also had the services of Paul E.Dangerously for the night. I was a part of this finish one night in Baltimore as a referee for a match with Dusty Rhodes vs. Barry Windham with J.J. Dillon. The match starts and JYD is getting the best of Lawler. He eventually goes to the back and comes out with Dangerously. At some point in the match JYD puts the sleeper hold on and they back up towards the ropes. When they get close enough to the ropes Lawler reaches back and Heyman slips on my handy dandy “brass knuckles” that I carried around for years on to Lawler’s right hand. He grabs me by the shirt and hits me with the brass knuckles knocking me our cold. While I am down Lawler goes unconscious and a second referee declares JYD the new champion as Lawler eventually succumbed to the sleeper hold. I was carried to the back. Once I got back there I stuck my head in the shower and soaked it. I came back out looking revived and told DDP to announce that Lawler had been disqualified before he lost consciousness. It worked very well that night as it had in Baltimore.

There are other stories of matches with me as a referee and Jerry Lawler in them. I can remember at least two others with Lawler against Austin Idol in Philadelphia where Jerry was really really funny. I have no idea how I kept a straight face at the time. I still laugh to this day when thinking about it. There was also the night that Jerry wrestled Curt Henning in Ct. on an AWA show which I was booked on by AWA Vice President at the time Rob Russen. That was the show we booked Mick Foley on to be sure that Jerry and Wahoo McDaniel saw him. I wanted Mick to get a break and that night he did.

One might wonder how with all this past history between us that Jerry Lawler could forget someone who he worked with and for on numerous occasions. I wonder myself but perhaps he just doesn’t have a great memory. There could be some other theories on that but only Lawler knows the truth.

I didn’t give all the detail, but if I had it would have all been positive. I never had reason to have a problem with Lawler until my days in Memphis Wrestling. It’s a shame that he either let ego or a lack of understanding cause him to attack me and change my perspective on many things in this business. A story like this can only confirm that what’s important to some is very unimportant to others. It also brings to mind the Christmas movie "It’s a Wonderful Life" and the story behind it. Many times we don’t realize how we touch someone else’s life especially when we only interact with them on a short or very limited basis.

The picture for this article was taken somewhere in the Carolina’s after a match. It’s me and the late Pistol Pez Whatley. I can say Pez was one of the easiest guys that I have ever been in a ring with and I always appreciated how great he made me look in the ring.

This has been a piece of my mind

RassleResults: NBW Dyersburug, TN 2.02.08 - RESULTS AND THE DIRT!!

THE RESULTS

----The show started with The Riot Squad coming out to what was suppose to be a contract signing for next weeks Heavyweight Championship match . The Riot Squad was waiting in the ring for Dustin Starr but Chris Rocker came out and said that Dustin was not there but he had faith in Dustin and he would be there to help defend the tag belts unless The Riot Squad knew something he didn’t. Chris Rocker signed the contract for Dustin and stated that if Dustin didn’t show up he would find a partner. Mark told Rocker that the contract they signed for the tag title shot was with Dustin and Rocker NOT Rocker and some JOE BLOW [aka Jeremy Moore..sorry I couldn’t resist] and that if Dustin didn’t show up he would have to give The Riot Squad the belts OR take on both Mark and Rob by himself.

Buckwheat def. Sicilian Kid
Arnez def. Sgt Shakedown
Tim Edwards def. K.O. Jason Mathews
Mark Justice and Jeremy Moore fought all over the building then to the back for a double countout
Southern Pride ( Kilo and Redneck) def C4P ( Motley and Big Red)
Riot Squad ( Mark and Rob Justice) def. Chris Rocker to win the tag belts

---- Around 100 paid with 125 in the building crowd was up due to postering this week – they should do that EVERY week…After intermission Jeremy Moore called out Mark Justice and stated since Mark tried to take him out last week he want Mark in the ring right now if he was man enough because Jeremy was going to take out Mark tonight . The two of them fought all over the place then eventually to the back for the double count out….The SP vs C4P finish was Motley was holding Redneck – Big Red came in for closeline with Redneck ducking and Red hitting Cruz sending him over top rope. Red went for a powerbomb and Redneck went for a sunset flip with Kilo superkicking Big Red…Before the main event got underway Jimmy Tidwell went to the mic and told Allen Walker he knew that since Dustin wasn’t going to be there that everyone knew Rocker would DO ANYTHING to keep the tag belts EVEN CHEAT so we had it put in the contract that Chris signed for Dustin that if Rocker got caught cheating or if Rocker was disqualified for any reason the belts still changed…Finish of the main event had Rocker make a comeback on Rob and eventually hit his superkick and both men where down. Jimmy Tidwell drew the ref while Mark rolled Rob out of the ring and went for Hard Justice. Rocker wiggled out sending Mark into the ropes for a superkick on Mark. By the time the ref turned around Jeremy Moore had made it to the apron and Rocker went for the hot tag. Jeremy came in and started blasting Mark and the ref called for the bell. Due to the stipulation that it had to be Rocker and Starr defending their belts the ref DQed Rocker. Mark Justice went to the mic and told Jeremy Moore that that was exactly what he wanted and that Jeremy did his job very well. Rocker started asking Moore what Justice was talking about.

THE DIRT

----All said parties are happy now as one has taken over the concession, so don’t look for any kind of take over…Starr did no show. Starr and Jeff McDonald had words last week when Starr said some improper things to Jeff about this wife. Jeff apparently pushed Starr, but all was settled down quick. Starr still has one of the NBW Tag Titles in his possession…Chris Rocker and Jimmy Tidwell also had words backstage. Apparently in front of all the fans, Tidwell/Moore were seen talking. Why is the first thing I had to ask about this?? If you going to sell any kind of HEAT – you can NOT be seen in the building together. Even though they could turn it into an angle with what Justice said at the end. LOL Rocker/Tidwell started fussing back and forth, when finally Tidwell told Rocker to sit down or HE would sit him down. Rocker sit down…Both Rocker/Starr may be done here…I am not sure if I have mentioned, but Gaylon Ray, Jon Roberts and Just Joe are all gone from the promotion…Tavian Hart is now working for NBW after getting into a “cat fight” with Sue Young at the TLCW Dyersburg, TN on 10.18.08. Young told Hart to slap her and I have heard three or four stories from that point. Tavian was thrown out of the building and told not to return…NBW cast and crew were happy with the turnout of the TLCW show, which drew less than 50 people. It has not hurt their attendance…Tank does not work for the promotion any more because they say he is not “reliable”. Moore apparently fired him in front of all the boys, but has not called Tank to tell him he is not needed anymore.

----I was told the the House was standing room only and got a estimate of 500-600 in the crowd.

RassleResults: VOW Millersville, TN 2.02.08

----Omar Akbar (1/2 of the Insurgency) defeated Richard Cranium...BKNY defeated Anthony Bravado (1/2 of the New York Power Syndicate) w/ Jason Static by DQ...Anthony Jude Cervantes defeated Shawn Hoodrich..."Naughty by Nature" (Rude and Pokerface) defeated "Totally Awesome" (Kamikaze Kid and Sucio)...T.J. Harley defeated Jason Static (1/2 of the New York Power Syndicate) w/ Anthony Bravado.

----60 in the crowd…Static jumped in on the BKNY/Bravado match for the DQ. Harley tried to make the save, but caught a beatdown, too. A.M. Vision (Who was one of the hosts of the show), called the NYPS off, saying to save Harley for the main event….BKNY came out during the Harley/Static match and brawled with Bravado. I was told Static vs Harley was the best bout Hoodrich was fighting for a spot on the VOW roster. Vision (co-founder of VOW with Cervantes) said he felt Hoodrich wasn't worthy and had to go through someone to get a spot. Cervantes won after blowing glitter in Hoodrich's face, which led to a pin. Cervantes granted Hoodrich another chance at the next show…VOW returns to Millersville Saturday, March 8…Also, you can check out some of the guys from the show here - http://www.derbycitywrestling.com/. SAW also uses some of the guys from DCW. Lennox Lightfoot from the Tribal Nation and Damian Adams both work for DCW and SAW, I believe.

Gary J over Pierre Abernathy
Brandon Espinosa over Sgt. Savage
Idol Bane over Slim Pickens
Arnez & ???? over Tag Team Champions Rockin' Randy and Johnny Vinyl
"The Golden Boy" Greg Anthony over "Superman" Jason Reed to retain LAW Championship

----40 plus paid w/ 50-60 in building with a gate over $200…Jeff O'Dell and TGB opened the show. Jeff O'Dell said that he was tired of people saying that he was an unfair owner and he protects Greg Anthony and LAW Championship so as a sign of "Good Faith" tonight we will have the first ever LAW Luck of the Draw. Two sets of numbers 1-4. Every singles wrestler draws a number and wrestlers with like numbers wrestling each other. "The Golden Boy" of course already had number 1 and whomever drew the other number 1 would be granted a rare LAW Title Match!...Idol Bane defeated Slim Pickens with “The Ghost of Andy Kaufman” in a very good match…The tag team titles were on the line again in a handicap match. After the numbers game became too much for Arnez he was finally able to hit a desperation double clothesline on the tag team champions. Suddenly The Asylum's music hit... an unknown man dressed like The Asylum [Pappy doing this angle as this is first time Rector as ever seen him] came to the ring and stood in Arnez's corner with his hand out. Arnez made the tag and the unknown man who was well near the 300 pound mark started bumping the tag champs all over the place before eventually knocking them out of the ring. The tag champs scurried to the back and took the count out loss. Arnez made his way to his feet and stood eye to eye with the unknown man. Some fans thought that they were going to fight themselves but Arnez raised the unknown man's arm and The Asylum's music played. They are running an angle where the fans are wondering, “Do we have a NEW ASYLUM? Who is the unknown man?” I think they might be disappointed if Psycho doesn’t show back up and was scared that this might blow up in their face, since Pappy looks so much like Psycho. Some fans might be thinking he is trying to rip him off...In the main event, "The Golden Boy" Greg Anthony and Jeff O'Dell came to the ring confident that whomever had #1 would be surely defeated. Jeff & TGB called for the wrestler with #1 and an unfamiliar music played and a man dressed in street clothes came out holding up the #1 but then "Superman" Jason Reed came out behind him! Jason Reed made it clear that he was a former LAW Champion and that he was here to kick TGB's ass and take his title back. Jeff and TGB were visibally upset with TGB yelling "How did "Superman" Jason Reed get in the building!" TGB calmed down and told Jason Reed that yes, he was a former champion but that was in "HIS LAW" in "TGB's LAW" he is BFF with the owner and he can say that there is no main event tonight! There is no title match, so good night. As TGB and O'Dell start to leave, Jason Reed tells TGB that he has known him 10 years and he never thought until this very moment that TGB was a Chicken. TGB told the ref to ring the bell as Jeff O'Dell pleaded with him not to go through with it. Superman had alot very close counts that would have leave with the LAW Championship but in the end Idol Bane hit Jason Reed with a chair and Greg Anthony picked up the 1,2,3. After the match Idol Bane was going to deliver “The Ghost of Andy Kaufman” to Jason Reed on a steel chair and Brandon Espinosa's music hit... Idol dropped Reed and him and TGB said if Espinosa was truly FEARLESS then step in the ring two men! Brandon without hesitation slide into the ring and started delivering solid right hands to both TGB and Bane before Idol hit him with a big boot, Idol was fixing to give him “The Ghost of Andy Kaufman” on a chair when TGB stopped him and said that he wanted him. TGB delivered two Golden Guillotines on a steel chair to Brandon Espinosa to end the night.

Our Condolences.....

----I would like to ask for your thoughts and prayers to go out to my brother Christian Jacobs and his girlfriend Krissy. They are going through a really tough time right now due to the loss of their baby right at the 5 month mark. The baby was diagnosed having “Edwards syndrome”, which is a genetic disorder. This is a rare condition that the fatality rate is almost 100%, but with the parents really not knowing WHEN it will happen. If the baby is born alive, then they have only a 5% chance of lasting a year. RRO offers are deepest condolences and will keep you in our thoughts.

Lesner Footage!!

----For those wanting to see the Lesner fight last night, here is footage of it. CLICK HERE!!! Funny thing is that when I first started this site part of the slogan was, "NO MMA", but with a guy that was so popular in the wrestling world, it would be hard not to post things about him.
