LAST WEEK…Hammerjack demonstrated what he was going to do to Gary Valiant inside the steel cage by shredding a head of lettuce through a cyclone fence…Homicidal Tendencies denied Indian Nations a title match at “New Year’s Brawl 2000 & Hate” and left them laying…A blinded Sean Casey hit Arrick Andrews with his cane, causing him to lose the SAW Television Title to Nore Havoc…Casey lifted his sunglasses and smirked at the camera. “I guess the hairspray wore off…he should be ashamed of himself.”
Jack Johnson and Hot Rod Biggs opened the show “just a few hours removed from New Year’s Brawl 2000 & Hate.” Well, that was the plan. They gave several plugs throughout the hour for the NWA Top Rope in Lebanon which took place two weeks earlier.
(1) Nore Havoc (with Paul Adams) escaped with the SAW TV Title via time limit draw against Damian Adams. Biggs assured Johnson that he was OK in the aftermath of the heinous attack by Hammerjack, and explained that Commissioner Freddie Morton had drawn Damian’s name as Havoc’s random challenger for this week. As Damian and Havoc traded holds, Johnson voiced his suspicions that Casey’s blindness was a ruse. At one point, Johnson said Casey and Samantha were a strange couple. Biggs was back to favoring the heels by calling Johnson a conspiracy theorist. Damian broke out an offensive flurry ending with a dropkick for a two count. Havoc took the wind out Damian’s sails with a sidewalk slam for a near fall. Havoc worked the back with Damian selling it large. Meanwhile, Paul lounged on the apron smoking a cigar. Johnson said he was posing for Cigar Aficionado. Havoc pulled the top rope down to spill Damian over the top. Paul then choked Damian with his towel and blew smoke in his face. Biggs said Paul and Havoc had been living it up with limousines, hot tubs, cognac and cigars. SAW must pay way better than other indies. Paul blew smoke in the ref’s face. Cut to Havoc ramming Damian’s back into the post. Back inside, Havoc dropped an elbow and made a nonchalant cover. Havoc shook off a pair of chops and applied a rear chinlock. Damian regained his vertical base but Havoc put him on the canvas with a back elbow. Biggs said Damian was going to have to go home to Puerto Rico and tell all 19 people in his house that he lost. Johnson played dumb. “Is he having a party? Did everybody stay over from New Years?” Damian stepped aside and Havoc shoulder blocked the ringpost. Backdrop by Damian to set up the bicycle kick. Havoc ducked and went for the Chopping Block but Damian blocked it. Damian connected with the bicycle kick and covered. The bell rang just before the three count. Referee Jim Kleckner raised Damian’s hand. Mike Sircy came to ringside for a talk with Kleckner. The fans were chanting “that was three.” Kleckner handed the belt to Havoc, who was laying on the floor in a daze.
(2) Arrick Andrews beat Jason James via submission in 2:39. Andrews was still adjusting his trunks with his back turned to James after the bell rang. James clubbed Andrews in the back and beat him down. Andrews had to grab the ropes to avoid being pinned. Andrews used an up and over headscissors to send James in for a mouthful of turnbuckle. Andrews on fire. Lariat for two. Desperation dirty tactics by James went for naught. Andrews locked in the dragon sleeper. James tried to make the ropes. Andrews grounded James and added a body scissors to get the tap out.
Jack Johnson interviewed Homicidal Tendencies (“Hot Chocolate” Kory Williams & Vic the Bruiser) in an empty arena. Tendencies explained how they first met when they started training with USWA. Williams said Eddie Marlin (Jeff Jarret’s grandfather) broke him in and Eron Hatchett (Nore Havoc) was one of his first trainers. Vic moved on to train with Danny Davis and became the first OVW champion. Williams said promoter Dale Mann put them together because he wanted a “brother tag team.” Williams gave a shout out to Ashley Hudson, his former partner in New South. Johnson brought up Williams’ encounter with Goldberg on NITRO. “He speared me and broke his shoulder,” said Williams. Vic talked about how his mother used to get worked up watching Tojo Yamamoto and how seeing Randy Savage sparked his interest in becoming a pro wrestler. Vic said Rip Rogers was his most memorable partner and the man that made him the wrestler he is today. He called the Naturals pretty boys.
We’re from the streets. Wrestling flows through us. Boys, you can a have a million dollar body. Doesn’t mean nothing in this business…We’re not out here for pretty things. We’re out here to maim people.
(3) Hammerjack pinned Rick Santel at 5:33. It was Santel doing all the hammering, as he was to avenge the piledriver Hammerjack gave him two weeks ago. When Hammerjack bailed out, Biggs said he was backing up. Johnson said he was freaked out by what happened to Biggs. Santel continued to beat on Hammerjack outside the ring. Hammerjack stomped Santel as he slid back into the ring and went to work. The body of the match consisted of Hammerjack doling out punishment and using power moves like a side slam and a front slam to cut off Santel’s aerial comebacks. Hammerjack made lazy, half-assed covers and tried to intimidate Kleckner. Swinging neckbreaker from left field by Santel and both men down. Comeback time. Flying burrito forearm…reverse atomic drop…flying clothesline and a hook of the legs but Hammerjack kicked out. Santel with an exploder suplex for another near fall. Hammjerack struggled to his feet. Santel charged. Hammerjack backdropped him over the top, but Santel hung on to the ropes and did a sunset flip back inside. Hammerjack sat down and grabbed the ropes for leverage to get the pin.
Smart move by Hammerjack, a disturbed man who seems to come up on the sunny side of things every time.
(4) Sean Casey (with Samantha) beat Shane Eden in 11:25. Lots of over-the-top cowardly stalling by Casey to start, but it was a good opportunity to ogle Samantha’s sweet ass front and center on the hard cam. “(Eden) never has made it to the brass ring, and you know that’s got to be eatin’ away at him,” said Biggs. They went back and forth with armbars and hammerlocks. Casey went to the ropes. Eden scored with a pair of lariats and spinwheel kick. Eden did the splits, while Casey took a TO for a get well kiss from Samantha. Casey blinded Eden with an eye rake. But Eden picked Casey off the top rope with a solid powerslam for a near fall. Casey finally got the upper hand with a swinging neckbreaker. Casey mocked Eden’s dancing and missed with a fist drop. Eden rallied with high crossbody for a near fall. Casey cut him off. Kleckner caught Casey using the ropes for extra leverage. The crowd got behind Eden bigtime as he attempted to fight up from the bottom. Casey hit a spinebuster for a two count. Casey fish-hooked Eden’s mouth. Awkward transition into a middle rope diamond cutter by Casey. Eden kicked out of the back cover. Casey went to the top, but Eden rolled out from under the elbow drop. Eden made a full-fledged comeback. Close near fall with a bulldog (damn, hook his leg will ya?). Eden telegraphed a backdrop and ate a lariat to the face. Casey missed with an elbow drop. Eden wiffed on a lariat. Superkick by Casey and it’s over.
Johnson stopped Casey for a word at the desk. Casey said getting his sight back was a Christmas Miracle on 34th Street. Casey was raving about how sexy he was when Andrews came out. Samantha distracted Andrews and Casey sucker punched him. Casey all over Andrews and they're in the ring. Casey chokes with the knee while striking a double biceps pose. Andrews made his own save. Casey bailed. Andrews standing tall and we'll see you next week.
Closing Thoughts: This was the only weak episode of the half dozen I've seen. It lacked the great promos and funny lines that make SAW so entertaining. The only storyline advancement was the deal between Casey and Andrews. The surprise was Biggs not changing his tune after Hammerjack beat him to a bloody pulp. This show had more wrestling, respectable matches but nothing special. From what I’ve seen so far, Damian Adams is the best worker on the roster. WWE would have interest if not for his size. I would think they would be on the look out for quality workers that are fluent in Spanish. Havoc has the talent and the know how, but it looks like he isn’t working often enough to go all out and be really sharp. They shaved a couple of minutes of the 10 minute time limit in that one. Andrews looked stupid waiting for James to attack him. On the bright side, the dragon sleeper finish was effective. The Homicidal Tendencies interview was a nice introductory piece. The weird thing was airing it now, because it portrayed the champions so totally out of their current outrageous heel characters. Hammerjack and Santel worked a fast pace. The finish was on the sloppy side. I like Hammerjack as a brawler. Santel’s comeback was just OK. Be it accident or by design, Santel was treading water as a babyface. Eden/Casey had some good stuff and some bad stuff. The announce team did a good job of getting across Eden’s drive and resiliency, and the sheer awesomeness of Samantha as eye candy. Comcast is doing SAW absolutely no favors of late. They tried to air this show on 1/12 (a week behind schedule) but it cut off after 25 minutes. Hopefully, things will be back on track for 1/26 with footage from the New Year’s Brawl show.

Welcome to what I hope becomes a regular feature here on www.rasslinriotonline.com. I will use the word “regular” as opposed to weekly so I won’t set myself up to fail. Needless to say, I hope to bring you a column on a regular basis, so here goes.
This week, I want to discuss the World Wrestling Entertainment house show that was held Saturday, Jan. 12 at the Arkansas State University Convocation Center in Jonesboro, AR. This particular event was a combination effort of the SmackDown and ECW brands.
While ECW has been hit or miss on its television show each Tuesday night on the SciFi Network, SmackDown is typically a good show on Friday nights on the CW Network.
Going into the show, there were a couple of things that led to the house of approximately 5,000 fans.
First, there is the Undertaker. He is known as the “phenom” of the WWE and for good reason. Minus Howard Finkel, I think the ‘Taker has the longest uninterrupted run in the WWE. He debuted at the 1990 Survivor Series and has been with the company since. While Shawn Michaels actually started in 1988 with the company, he took his injury hiatus from 1998-2002 and only made occasional appearances during that 5-year period before returning full time. So the Undertaker is a long time favorite of WWE fans. He got over quickly with the audience and has stayed over by changing his character with the different times. And just when it was getting a little stale, he was able to make a change to add life to it.
The Undertaker is no longer on a schedule where he works a lot of house shows and while Jonesboro isn’t considered a major market, I have a gut feeling he decided to work the card as a way to return to one of the towns he frequented during his pre-WWE days.
He certainly added some allure to the card.
Then there is Edge. He is easily the best heel in the business today. Couple that with his on-going fued with Rey Mysterio, who is also vastly popular, and there is a reason to plunk down a few dollars and watch a house show.
While those things made the card a probable success, something else added to the event’s success. It can all be summed up in one big word “ADVERTISING.”
Local wrestling promoters, take a look at that word.In my opinion, you can never have enough of it. Ever wonder why the “supercard” that you have been promoting is drawing a small following? It could have something to do with the fact that there isn’t enough real advertising being done.You have to spend money to make money. That is a fact of life. To get to your job, you have to buy fuel. And today that is tougher than ever.
Why not take a few dollars and advertise. I’m in the newspaper business, so I’m naturally going to support that medium, but radio and TV also work. And, if you play your cards right, you can get some solid advertising at key times.
I’ll go on the record and say that I’m not the smartest guy in the world and I’m not trying to act like “Mr. Promoter of the Year,” in giving this advice. Guys, I’ve learned by experience meaning I’ve lost money in failed efforts that might have worked out with a little advertising.
Let me also talk about the small town promoters’ favorite form of advertising – flyers. Do them, but don’t rely on them. If you ONLY put flyers around town, you are destined to have a little egg on your face. There is the luck factor, but nine out of 10 times, you need to have something to go along with flyers. Flyers should serve as a “reminder” that wrestling is in town.
Now, I can hear the response to this column. Some promoter out there whips out some cash, spends a chunk of change and the house is still bad. Well, there’s a little something that goes along with advertising – a good product.
If you have out of shape champion vs. can’t work challenger, you can advertise it all day long and it won’t matter. You might get one okay to good house out of advertising and then flush it all down the toilet.
Everybody on the card at the WWE show looked like wrestlers. They had their gear on. Sure, they all make a decent living and can pay for it. If you are a worker, get some freakin’ gear. If you don’t want to make the investment, get out of the business. When you go to college, you buy books. They are like your gear for class. Why wouldn’t you do the same in wrestling?
In closing, I’d like to say to local promoters, think about advertising a little bit when planning things out. Who knows? You might sell a ticket or two!

A Piece of my Mind- Jan 18th,2007 by "The Big Cheese" Sal Corrente
When I started in the business I was much smaller than I am today. I was probably about one hundred and seventy five pounds. I can remember Ernie Roth (The Grand Wizard) telling me that if he was still promoting towns he would use me as a referee for sure. He believed I was the right size. In the WWF they sometimes used referee’s that were bigger than the boys in height. That didn’t make sense to him and to many other people as well. The WWF was always a big man’s territory. That’s why guys like Buzz Sawyer and Tommy Rich, who were red sizzling hot at one time, never got a real chance in the WWF. I was happy to be a referee since I never thought I could be anything else in the business.
In the days that I became a referee, the referee’s were not made to look like fools as they are today. I see no consistency in the WWE today in regards to how the company runs. Sometimes the referee’s actually seem competent and other times they appear to be buffoons. In the long run making the referees fools helps no one. If you want to ever draw in this business you have to have some real heat. I can remember in the old days of the WWF when Bob Backlund was the champion he was not the best drawing champion. It was always a stacked and loaded card that was booked to help Backlund look like he was a great drawing champion. This was for the sole purpose of the McMahon ego not being bruised. It had become very clear that they chose to back the wrong guy. I can remember special bonus attractions many featuring Bruno Sammartino. I do remember a few featuring “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes. The trick here was that Backlund was the main event and the other matches were bonus attractions so when Vince Sr talked to all his buddies around the country and said yeah we sold out here and there when they asked who was on top he would say Backlund. He would never mention Rhodes, Sammartino or anyone else brought in to help. The point here is that there were guys in the territory with real heat. The main guy with all the heat was Capt. Lou Albano. The people wanted to see this guy get beaten to a pulp. I can remember every April when things would slow down Lou would put on the tights. If one of his tag teams was short a guy that night he would step in. In some cases there were six man tags. Other times he would be in singles match. I can remember one night Lou was in a single against Andre the Giant the place was packed. This type of thing never happens today. Why is that? There is no real heat in the territory and if there is it is on the referees. How about some consistency and treating these guys like actual officials.
It was the anniversary today of the night that “The Russian Bear” Ivan Koloff beat “The Living Legend” Bruno Sammartino in Madison Square Garden. It was the end of a title reign that more than likely will never be surpassed. It began with a victory of Nature Boy Buddy Rogers on May 16th 1963 and ended on Jan 18th 1971. In the days of the Sammartino title reign he would be booked in matches all over the country and all over the world. I believe that it was very short sighted of Vince Sr to be booking Bruno to wrestle in what would be considered B towns. Those were days that a guy in Bruno’s position should have been given off the go back to Pittsburgh and rest his body or spend some time with his wife and children. In those days Sammartino was one of the top paid athletes in the country and was a major attraction. As much money as Sammartino made the WWWF and the WWF I often wonder what would have happened if they properly took care of the goose that laid the golden egg.
I found out today the Ernie “Arrowhead” Holmes of the Pittsburgh Steelers died in an automobile accident. I believe many fans know that Ernie participated somewhat in professional wrestling. He was in the Battle Royal at Wrestlemania too. In talking with Bruno Sammartino today he reminded me that it was he who eliminated Ernie from the Battle Royal. How about that one Pittsburgh legend eliminating another one? It is a little ironic that he died on the anniversary

This is “The Original Masked Superstar” Bill Eadie and the former Bubba Ray Dudley. I was lucky enough to be the first one to use the Dudley’s when their WWE agreement expired. It caused some frustration and issues but it was on my WrestleReunion event where the name TEAM 3D was born

----RRO Most Underrated of 2007 Kilo's mom is in the ICU in Jackson Madison County hospital. She had a heart attack and a stroke on Thursday. She was rushed to Trenton hospital by ambulance about 2 pm and then sent on to Jackson, TN later that afternoon. She still has not woke up since going into the hospital. RRO and staff ask everyone to keep her and the entire family in your thoughts.

The Ratings: Rerun Season Episode 2
----This past Saturday’s show did a total overall rating of 3.5 [58,762 viewers] making it the highest rated program since Thanksgiving weekend. The show opened up with over 50,000 viewers and continued to climb until the 4th quarter. The 4th Quarter took a tumble losing over 17,000 viewers. The only thing I can see is that fans had already seen enough of Jerry Lawler and just turned off the show. The “What Was Memphis Watching” number [highest rated program in the wrestling time slot] was down 46%, but still scoring over 170,000 viewers. The show overall did about 8,000 more viewers than average and I guess that is pretty good for stuff over 2 years old.

The Art of Promos by Bill Behrens
(I saw this on someone's myspace and thought it was a good read and figured I would post it here to share with others, there's some good advice here. Not really sure when this was written or where originally appeared but here it is. The "Art" of promos or interviews by Bill Behrens
Way too many professional wrestlers believe they can deliver a good interview or promo. The truth is very few wrestlers can. That's true for guys working in the Indies and it's true for a large percentage of guys who have made it to TNA or WWE.
The key to a good promo or interview is believability. Does the audience believe what you are saying? Does it make sense for you to say? And the most important.....did you believe what you said?
Here are a few do's & don'ts that might help:
1)Believe in what you are saying, as if you do then the words will come more naturally to you. Too many promos are written by others, then memorized word for word by the wrestler, then repeated...with one key thing missing, believability. If you can make what you are saying important to you, true to you, what you believe, then others will believe it to. If you just repeat someone else's words you are going through the motions and nobody including you will buy what you say.
2)Less is more. Long promos are way over-rated, and only a handfull of wrestlers can do them well, so I recommend you don't assume you are one of those guys as odds are you aren't.
3)If you cuss or curse in your promo then likely it is because you have no idea what to say. Never be proud you can get a reaction from a crowd of young men by dropping F bombs right and left, as anyone can get that same reaction.
4)Resist "crutches", phrases that precede what you want to say but have nothing to do with it, like "The thing is" or "let me tell you something" (unless of course you are The Grappler Len Denton or maybe Steve Doll/Dunn.) Just say what you want to say.......you know.
5)If you can, find something that people want to hear, that defines your character and helps bring your promo home. The best examples are lines like "What you gonna do, when..." and "Because Stone Cold said so".
6)For in ring promos do not wander around, stay in one place and just open your body or turn your head to involve more of the crowd. If you are not moving people will focus more on what you are saying, and then if you do move you can do so with more impact.
7)For promos there are two schools, the WWE style and let's call it a traditional style. WWE style is for the speaker to talk or react to someone like an interviewer or another wrestler rather than the camera. This style works best in wrestler confrontations. The traditional styles is to talk to the audience watching, the camera. The key is the eyes and eye contact, as that's where the believability comes. The eyes are the window to your soul, it has been said. I happen to prefer promos to the audience, the camera, as it's the audience we want involved and want to care, and paying attention to them or directing your point to them is essential.
8)If you are trading lines back and forth with another wrestler know when to stop. Having the last word is very over-rated. I've seen heat killed by a wrestle determined to have the last word way too many times...which leads again to...
9)Less is more....sorry that one is just worth repeating
10)Get into character, and stay in character when you are talking......the believability thing again. If you don't believe in your character and can not speak in that character's voice then nobody will ever care what you say as that character.

----After Stan Lee's match he received the LAW Most Popular Award, he thanked everyone and said if he could get a plaque made for every fan he would and that his award was theirs. Idol Bane sneaked up behind Stan giving him 3 Ghost of Andy Kaufmans, the last one was on a chair before DK made the save…The Asylum was named LAW Tag Team of the Year when Randy/Vinyl came out and said that Jeff O'Dell thought Arnez did such a good job last week two on one, that he gave Randy another tag team title shot and this week and he chose Johnny Vinyl as his partner…Slim Pickens was named LAW Rookie of the Year when "The Baron" came out and took Slim's award out of his hands and then tried to hit him with it. Slim ducked and started firing up on Malkavain starting an impromptu match…Jeff O'Dell was in Flash's corner for his match against Dell Tucker. After Flash's match, TGB came out. Flash said that he wanted to patch things up with TGB and that he and Jeff had made an agreement and if TGB wins his match tonight Flash would have a VERY SPECIAL SURPRISE for him! With the help of Jeff O'Dell and Flash, TGB gained a victory over Tatt2. After the match Flash said that Golden Boy is going to get what he wants, as long as Jeff has what Flash wants. TGB's VERY SPECIAL SURPRISE is a LAW Title shot right now. Jeff calls for a ref and Flash lays down in the middle of the ring and lets TGB win the LAW Championship. TGB celebrates and Flash even helps TGB strap on his title. Jeff says that its now time to give away The LAW Wrestler of the Year Award. Jeff says that its really a no brainer, Jeff says that LAW Wrestler of the Year is .... Flash Flanagan but when Flash grabs the plaque he notices his name is not on it Jeff is shocked to announce that the LAW Wrestler of the Year is "The Golden Boy" Greg Anthony. Flash visibly upset storms out of the ring with Jeff yelling his name trying to catch up as TGB is chasing Jeff yelling his name... The 1st Confrontation between Idol Bane and DK was a physical contest as both men beat the hell out of each other. DK superplexed Bane from the top rope and neither man could answer the 10 Count. After the match both men tried disputing the result with the referee but soon started brawling again as refs and security tried to restore order, DK superkicked a ref. Bane threw DK over the top rope and then gave a member of security The Ghost of Andy Kaufmann. DK came back and threw Bane over the top rope to end the night…Not sure what they are doing here, but seems like they are getting the “titles” back to the said promotions and forgetting about the Unified Title. Someone help me out here!!

Yearbook and Site News!
----I just would like to let everyone to know that I am still working on Yearbook 2007. This is a huge project and is so time consuming. I am going to try to get everything updated by Friday with ratings, shows and results. I also hope to have an update on the Yearbook by Saturday. Keep your fingers crossed!!

The word is out that Paul Wight “The Big Show” is headed back to WWE. The speculation is that he may even be the opponent for Triple H next week on RAW. I have a hard time buying into a story line where a man who had his head shoved up someone’s rear end would then have that man be his soldier in a war. I hope this is not the plan, If it is the plan it would be just another example of not paying attention to history. If you are to have a successful company you have to continuity in story lines. If this was my angle to put together I would put Triple H in a handicap match against Big Daddy V and Mark Henry. The thing to do is for Triple H to bring back The Big Show and have him save Triple H. This would be the approach to take and so many other angles could be run off of this situation. This would at least make some sense.
I watched Monday Night Raw last night and last week. It appears that over the last two weeks that three of the top guys in the company are injured. We have Chris Jericho from last week. This week we have Jeff Hardy doing some ridiculous bump that will never draw you a dime. He supposedly did the Swanton Bomb onto Randy Orton. This is clearly another example of insulting people’s intelligence. If anyone believes that Hardy did that dive and landed on Randy Orton they will never read this report because they are not going to be intelligent enough to get to this site. I am sure, like with most things in WWE, the spot and everything else we saw that “entertained” us last night was rehearsed all day long. I hope that the McMahon’s enjoy RAW when they watch it back because I can’t imagine that true fans of wrestling enjoy this stuff.
It was many years ago and some how Verne and Greg Gagne got the idea in their head that I was dealing drugs to the boys. They had a big show at the Meadowlands Arena in NJ and the boys told me that the Gagne’s thought I was bringing drugs to the guys. The whole idea of it was laughable to me and I paid very little attention to it that night. It was a really good show I was only there to hang out with friends. It wasn’t to long after that I used my contacts with Sherri Martel to get a shot in Denver Co as a referee for the local promoter Gene Reed. The promoter had been around for many years and in those days was half a mark himself. Well the situation from The Meadowlands carried over and Greg didn’t want me anywhere near anything. I finally went to Jimmy Snuka and told him what happened and he laughed as well. He knew me for years and knew I was the straightest guy around. He told me to go to Nick Bockwinkel and ask him to intervene and I did. I was glad that Nick went to Greg and explained that they were mistaken and that I was a good guy and a solid referee. Well, Nick came and told me that I could have my tryout in the opening match. I got dressed and went to see Greg who welcomed me to the company and apologized for the confusion but he made it clear that I had been singled out as a dealer and they couldn’t have that around the boys.
I went out and worked the opening match which may have been a time limit draw between the late DJ Peterson and Kevin Kelly (Nailz of WWE fame). When I got back to the dressing room Greg stopped me immediately and thanked me. He asked if I would please help them with the main event. I found out that Denver had some of the worst referee’s locally in the country. They had a big main event that night of Col. DeBeers vs. Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka in a coal mines glove match. I told him that I would and later I found out that the boys went to Greg and insisted he asked me because they felt the local referees couldn’t handle the match. It was an interesting match that involved a second coal miner’s glove, me turning my back at the right time and Snuka beat in the middle of the ring. When I counted to three the arena was dead silent you could hear a pin drop. In those days you didn’t see Jimmy Snuka getting pinned by anyone he was considered unbeatable. I went to the dressing room and was thanked for my efforts. I was told by one of the boys that night that we were very close to a riot. I didn’t understand what he meant because I had never been in that situation. I was told that when people get so quiet like that they are so stunned they could possible riot. Well when we were getting changed Greg Gagne stuck his head in the heel dressing room and let Col DeBeers know that the finish would be changed for the next night. It was Greg’s idea that the fans lost faith in Snuka that night. I don’t know if it was for fear of a riot or because he truly felt that the fans would lose faith in Snuka but the finish was going to be changed.

The Southern Saints heading back to South Philly....
It was announced today on the Chikara Pro Wrestling website that the Southern Saints have been added to Chikara Pro's 'King of the Trios' Tournament that will take place starting Feb. 29th through March 2nd at the New Alhambra Arena (the former ECW Arena in Philadelphia, Pennysylvania. The King of the Trios Tournament is a three man tag team tournament done annually in Chikara.

Trent Joins RRO!!
----I would like to welcome Trent Van Drisse to the staff of RRO. Trent and I have agreed to work together in trying to bring you the best news and sources from this area. RRO Site of The Year 2007 – Mid-Southern Message Board will also become the official RRO Message Board. I have not been happy with the performance of our Kayfabe Board in a long time. It was good for the first few months and it still gets hits, but not many people participate. Trent has a built in audience and he is happy to invite all the guys that participate on the Kayfabe Board. You guys can join the board by sending Trent an e-mail. Trent also will have a link for his radio show on the opening page of the site and he will become part of the listing of what RRO can offer our visitors. Trent will also be encouraged to write also on the main RRO news site. All changes will go into effect in the next few days.

I have been told by many people that when they try to tell a friend about it, then it is hard to explain why it is called “rasslinriot” and such, so this will make it easier for everyone. You will not have to change anything in your browser, because this is just a transfer domain. It will be easier to use for some future advertising projects I have planned also.
----Something I forgot to mention about the book is that when it does go for sale from the publisher, then I will not be able to see who orders the book. ----Corey Maclin opens alone with a black backdrop. Maclin says that people have been asking him what happened between him and Jerry Lawler.
----Rerun show starts with clips of Lawler/Maclin angle from “last week”.
----Jimmy Hart [as a heel] and Brian Teigland are announcing this week.
----Brian Christopher angle with Sexy Assassins. Maclin does tell everyone in the front of the show that the Sexy Assassins later became “Too Kool 2”. Christopher beats Sexy Assassin [Tim Grind].
----They posted a disclaimer this week saying, “This is an ENCORE PRESENATION of Memphis Wrestling”.
----Lawler interview. Lawler was wearing a god awful shirt!! It looks like he has sleeve tattoos. It actually looked like something Jeff Hardy would wear. LOL Lawler shows a photo of himself and Noel Neal – Lois Lane from “Superman” TV show. Lawler calls out Maclin. Crowd is hot with them chanting “Corey, Corey!!” Lawler starts talking about Corey’s Rolex watch and then Grady Watson is pulled out of the crowd. He is asked a bunch of questions, and then Lawler throws down the watch on the concrete floor. This was good.
----King Mable interview talking about wrestling against WWE guys. Mable was the Southern Champion. King Mable beats “Sweet” Stevie Lee
----Lawler comes out for another interview. Lawler talks about his win over Shock [Spellbinder] for the XWF Title. Clip is shown of Lawler beating Shock with help from Jimmy Hart. Shock comes out. Lawler states that he thinks Hart tried to let Shock win that match. Lawler says that he did not win the match fair & square. He gives the XWF Title back to Shock.
----Maclin runs Hart off the set. Maclin says that Lawler will pay him for his watch. Bill Dundee interview talking about his hurt shoulder. Dundee plugs his bar. He talks about Kid Kash for July 10, 2004.

Local Dyersburg Tragedy Reported on www. stategazette.com
Man dies day after collapsing at the arena
A Kenton man died on Monday after he collapsed Sunday while training at a Dyersburg amateur wrestling arena.
Nick Halpin, 28, was reportedly practicing moves with several other individuals when he fell unconscious. A 911 call Sunday from the New Blood Wrestling arena noted Halpin was suffering from heat exhaustion.
An ambulance transported him to Dyersburg Regional Medical and he was sent by helicopter to The Regional Medical Center in Memphis. Halpin reportedly died after never returning to consciousness.
The Dyersburg Police Department Criminal Investigation Division interviewed people involved with the incident, which occurred at the rear of the Juke Box Café at 1901 St. John Ave.
The promotion company posted a eulogy on its Web site on Thursday noting the incident:
"This past Sunday afternoon, during a training session at the NBW Arena, a young man fell unconscious ..."

RassleResults: TLCW Ripley, TN 1.12.08
TLCW started off this week with Flash Flannigan, Ms. Vanna, and Chris Lexx coming to the ring, running Rick "The Stick" Marx and "The Suit" Scotty C out of the ring before they could begin promoting the matches for the evening. Flash, who was suspended two weeks ago, got the mic and began to talk about how all the fans are asking why he joined Alan Steele and turned his back on the fans. He said that when he left for Puerto Rico, no one could stand Tim Grind and now that he is back, they love him. He reiterates what he said two weeks that the fans "turned their back on him". Flash then let the fans know that he would be standing in the corner of Chris Lexx from here on out as it would appear Lexx, under the leadership of Ms. Vanna and Flash Flanagan, has joined this new stable forming along with Alan Steele.
Albino Rhino def. Cody Melton in a very quick match. Rhino began to celebrate his victory when Lil Tim came out and attacked the raging beast. These two have crossed paths on a few occasions and it has been good for Tim, especially tonight as he was laid out next to Cody Melton.
Tatt2 def. Chris Lexx via DQ after Flash jumped into the ring and started to beat up Tatt2 who was close to getting the victory over Lexx. The end of the contest happened when Lexx was set up for the "901" and Flash moved Lexx out of the way in time. Flash then jumped in the ring and laid out Tatt2 before Flash, Lexx, and Ms. Vanna left for the backstage area.
"The Golden Boy" Greg Anthony came out and started to once again, as he did last week, put over the fact that his show was the best show on the planet, "The Golden Circle". At this point, "The Future" Dell Tucker made his way out and tried to put his case up that the "Future Showcase" was the best. After some back and forth words, "Dynamite" Seth Knight and Slim "The Bulldog" Pickens came out. TGB and Dell both made mention after one another that neither man was a guest on each of their shows. Seth made the point that they know that and that they wouldn't lower themselves to be on either man's shows. After a few more words, it became an impromptu match.
Third Match
Seth Knight and Slim Pickens def. TGB and Dell Tucker after Slim got the roll up on Dell Tucker for the win. This match was almost a solid 15 minutes that saw Slim get the desperate tag from Seth to come in. After the match, TGB and Dell argued to the back as we went to intermission.
After the Intermission, Dell Tucker made his way back out and called out TGB. TGB came out and they picked up right where they left off about their shows, but quickly dissolved into wanting to redeem themselves of their loss and challenged any tag team to come out. The Posse is who answered that challenge, much to the dismay of TGB and Tucker.
The Posse def. TGB and Dell Tucker with both men rolled up and pinned. This caused even more problems between the two "talk show hosts" that once again saw them arguing up the ramp about who loss and who had the best show.
“Black Label Society” def. Naughty by Nature to win the TLCW Tag Team Championship. Last week, BLS scored a pinfall over the champs in a non-title contest that gave them plenty of juice to feed Commissioner Mark Tipton on why they should get a title shot this week and it paid off…only not as they probably expected. The end of this contest saw Flash Flannigan and Chris Lexx, while the referee was down, to come in and cost Naughty by Nature their titles. As BLS left happy, nXn was left lying and beaten by Flash and Lexx. Two fans even tried to come in to help, only to be beaten down as well. This is why we at TLCW say "Do Not Enter the Ring or Involve Yourself in the Event." Flex came out to help all parties involved which brought out an irate Commissioner Mark Tipton. Tipton made it clear that Flash used his stroke as champion to get his suspension lifted and since that was the case, he had to defend his Unified Title against Flex, the partner of Tim Grind.
Semi-Main Event
"The Baron" Malkavain def. Chris O'Neal with the "Demon's Wings", but not before he hit O'Neal below the belt as O'Neal was gaining momentum against the undefeated vampire of TLCW. This match was being dominated by "The Baron" until O'Neal was able to lay some hard hits to the man from Castle East, but "The Baron" still came out the victor and still undefeated.
Main Event
Unified Title Match
Flex def. Flash Flannigan via DQ after Lexx interfered in the contest with a chop block to Flex' bad knee. This led to Flash and Lexx double teaming Flex until Derrick King made the surprise save of his long time friend. Flash and company made it to the stage and with a mic, Flash let King know that either he be retiring or not, he just made his hit list.

Tipton made it clear that Flash used his stroke as champion to get his suspension lifted and since that was the case, he had to defend his Unified Title against Flex, the partner of Tim Grind.

"The Baron" Malkavain def. Chris O'Neal with the "Demon's Wings", but not before he hit O'Neal below the belt as O'Neal was gaining momentum against the undefeated vampire of TLCW. This match was being dominated by "The Baron" until O'Neal was able to lay some hard hits to the man from Castle East, but "The Baron" still came out the victor and still undefeated.

Unified Title Match
Flex def. Flash Flannigan via DQ after Lexx interfered in the contest with a chop block to Flex' bad knee. This led to Flash and Lexx double teaming Flex until Derrick King made the surprise save of his long time friend. Flash and company made it to the stage and with a mic, Flash let King know that either he be retiring or not, he just made his hit list.

Jimmy Tidwell called out Jeremy Moore and revealed his big surprise. Tidwell told Moore that he was now a target of every wrestler in the NBW locker room because he has put a bounty on Jeremy Moore's head.
Sgt. Savage ran to the ring and tried to collect by jumping Moore from behind, but within a mere minute or so, Moore nailed Savage with an RKO for the quick win. As soon as Savage has gotten out of the ring and Moore was focusing back on Tidwell, Redman hit the ring and beat down Moore until Redman missed a splash in the corner and Moore nailed another RKO for the win leaving Tidwell 0 for 2 in his hunt for Jeremy Moore's head.
The reunited “Southern Pride” [Kilo & Tommy Redneck] defeated High RIsk Champion Motley Cruz and "Real Deal" Tim Edwards
Tag-Team Champons Dustin "5" Starr & Chris Rocker defeated The Asylum (Psycho & Pappy) by DQ when The Riot Squad ran to the ring and Tank pushed Starr from the top rope. The Asylum and Starr & Rocker started brawling after the match and the entire locker room emptied to pull them apart. The Riot Squad was standing back laughing until Commissioner Walker made a 3 Way Tag match next week with the titles on the line. The Riot Squad vs The Asylum vs Starr & Rocker.
----73 paying with a gate close to $440 with almost 100 in the building…Tank had four people try and cross the line to get at him after screwing over Starr & Rocker in the main event…Gaylon Ray is no longer with NBW. He worked a show for TIWF last night and was offered to work there. He no shows NBW for 3 weeks because of his shoot job, but is all of a sudden available for TIWF?...After the main event, Starr, Rocker & Moore called a lot of fans in the ring for a celebration of sorts and all of them dancing.
