Jamie Jay to Get A Look!!

Speaking of dreams coming true, our very own Jamie Jay will be working for WWE for the 2nd time in his career!! We don't know yet if this is going to work into a contract, but we do know that this is one major accomplishment! We extend our congratulations and support to one of our local greatest talents, JAMIE JAY!
----I talked with Jamie earlier and he let RRO know, "WWE called me Monday & booked me for Sep. 21 in Little Rock & 22nd in Tulsa!" Great job!! RRO sends Best Wishes to Jamie!!

----Some interesting stuff from the NWA Legends convention that was in the 8.17.09 issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Scott Bowden hosted a discussion on Memphis wrestling with promoter Jerry Jarrett and announcers Lance Russell and Dave Brown. Jarrett really put over Russell and Brown, which was interesting because Russell and Jarrett never spoke highly of each other probably the last 15 years they worked together. There were bitter feelings regarding Russell and Jerry Lawler making plans to break away from Jarrett and start their own promotion. To keep that from happening, Jarrett offered Lawler 50% of the company, because he recognized how valuable Lawler was. Plus, Jarrett learned himself when he went against long-time established promoter Nick Gulas, that whoever has Lawler and Russell has Memphis, the most lucrative city on the circuit. Jarrett clearly recognized Russell’s value and never replaced him, but they were not on good terms.
Still, Jarrett said that he tried to impress on Jeff that the most important people in your promotion are the announcers, and credited Russell and Brown for a lot of his success. You can really see the difference in the TNA announcing from when Jerry was in a power role. At that time, Mike Tenay was patterned more as a Lance Russell type, who Jerry felt needed to have credibility as the person selling the product. After Jerry had his falling out with Bob Carter, who he said was one of the worst people he ever met in his life, as well as his son (over him embarrassing Jeff by bringing Oleg Prudius, now Vladimir Kozlov, to WWE and having the WWE web site make a huge deal about Jerry being in Titan Towers, leaving people in TNA to think Jerry was brokering a deal for Jeff and the company was done), Tenay’s role changed.
Russell was praised for getting over legendary segments like the concession stand brawl and the Terry Funk-Jerry Lawler empty arena match (which Russell was the star of, but Funk always noted that as much as people talked up the angle, the match it was supposed to build to didn’t draw, although more than 20 years after the angle, Lawler and Funk did a rematch in Memphis off the angle and some great promos that was the biggest indie crowd in the U.S. in years).
Jarrett praised Randy Savage, saying that when WWF called, they wanted him immediately, even though he was in the middle of a main event program with Jerry Lawler, but he gave Jarrett two weeks notice. Then, when it fell through and the year ended, Lawler had no real explanation other than he didn’t want to quit wrestling. In 1992, the title change was nixed because TBS thought the secret had gotten out.
Jarrett praised Jimmy Hart for saving the territory when Lawler was out for nearly a year with a broken leg that he got playing football with his friends. Jarrett brought up that Bobby Shane recommended Bill Dundee to him after Shane had toured Australia, saying Dundee, who was originally brought in as a heel, had the worst little man’s complex in the world. Dundee actually was more often a face than a heel, and was Lawler’s biggest long-time rival. Although Lawler and Dundee weren’t there, three of the biggest draws of that era in Memphis were, with Steve Keirn of the Fabulous Ones, Austin Idol, and Jimmy Valiant (who celebrated his 67th birthday over the weekend). Idol and Mark Lewin were major pieces of curiosity since neither had attended these things. Idol, who is talking about running for mayor of Tampa, still had his bleach blond hair and still clearly works out.
The Fabulous Fargos from the late 50s and the feud with Argentina Rocca & Miguel Perez, Jackie & Don, were brought back together for the first time in about 30 years, as the two, along with Jackie’s brother Sonny Fargo, were put in the Hall of Heroes. Don, real name Don Kalt, 82, lived a crazy life, and never learned how to read nor write, and was having trouble signing autographs. Some funny stuff with Jackie telling stories about how he got naked hin public more often than Flair, and also did the strut for Flair. He also ribbed Jarrett on the square as he noted Jarrett, who had the rep for being one of the lower paying promoters, saying he was the guy who stole money from him all those years. Steve Keirn gave a speech noting that the Fabs got over at first because Fargo taught them how to connect with the crowd and endorsed them when they started the gimmick.

"The Mayor" Oscar Barlow and Al Hall welcomed everyone to Xtreme Outlaw Wrestling at the ConXion Gymnastics Center in Hernando, Mississippi for this special fundraiser, benefitting the Hernando Police SWAT Team. Oscar thanked S & S Property Claims & Roofing, Heating & Air Conditioning for sponsoring this great night of action. That's right! Syn & Stunner have started their own business. Just kidding. Oscar and Al mentioned that the show would feature, one half of the legendary Midnight Express, "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton and "Downtown" Bruno. This was followed by the playing of The National Anthem. Al announced that Oscar Barlow is the new Mayor of Crenshaw. Al told Oscar that he won him that election and should be rewarded by being named the new Police Chef, I mean Chief.
The XOW Heavyweight Champion, "The Pink Flamingo" Brian So Fine and "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock came out to the ring. "Hollywood" called out Promoter Tony Watts. Brian said that he saw "Downtown" Bruno outside and told him that the best thing he could do is head uptown, if he was planning on touching Jimmy. Brian added that when he shook his fist at Bruno, he was so scared that he got in his car and left. "Hollywood" Jimmy said, "He pissed his pants! He peed his pants! And I think he crapped his pants!" Brian called Danny, "Danny B. Stupid. "Hollywood" tried to persuade Tony Watts that since Bruno is gone that he should be the special guest referee for the match, later that night. Tony Watts told "Hollywood" to shut up. "Hollywood" continued to plead his case, by saying, "Bruno is gone and everyone wants to see me as special referee! I'll call it right down the middle!" Tony Watts called out "The Hotstepper" Danny B. Good. Danny asked everyone to be quiet for a second and said, "Listen.......Don't that sound good? Not hearing "Hollywood" running his mouth?" Danny told "Hollywood" to calm down before he commits suicide and told Brian to pull that outfit off before he commited suicide. Danny said Brian's outfit was loud. Danny brought up that he had spoken with Downtown Bruno and Bruno had informed him that "Hollywood" Jimmy had been trying to track him down on MySpace and everywhere to try and buy him off. Danny told "Hollywood" and Brian, "You will feel The Revolution!" He introduced "Downtown" Bruno. "Hollywood" Jimmy was taunting Bruno telling him that he was scared and ran off. Bruno said, "Wait a minute now, Fat Boy! The reason I was running was because I was running from your big, ugly wife!" Bruno said he would hit Jimmy with so many lefts, that he would be begging for a right. Bruno added, "I've got so many combinations that you'll think I'm a safe!" Since the Hernando Police Department were in attendence, Bruno told Jimmy that it would be a lot easier for him in jail. "Hollywood" Jimmy informed Bruno that he's a Memphis Wrestling Legend. In response, Downtown Bruno asked Jimmy, "How many WrestleManias have you been in? Have you been a part of a SummerSlam from Wembley Stadium? I have. "Hollywood" Jimmy told Bruno, "You sold popcorn!" Bruno fired back, saying, "And you were buying, Fat Ass!" Jimmy and Brian told Bruno to go back to Walls, Mississippi. Bruno told Brian, "People in Walls don't like fat queers!" Bruno told them that Danny B. is going to whip you because "Mama says it beees that way sometimes!" Bruno wanted the people to know that "Hollywood's" real name was Fat Boy. This started a "Fat Boy" chant. "Hollywood" Jimmy said he was going to kill him. Bruno asked Jimmy, "What are you going to do? Sit on me?" Danny and Bruno danced in the ring. Al Hall said that Danny dispelled the rumor that black people can dance. Al added that he knew that the Hernando Police Department has a warrant out for Danny because he's a woman beater. Al told Oscar that he was glad to have him back because last time he had to announce with a Mexican.
Opening Match-Mason vs Suicide-Referee Chris P. Fries-Suicide started a "You Suck" chant directed at Mason. Collar and elbow tieup with Mason taking over. Mason tried a back body drop, but Suicide would punt him in the skull, followed by a dropkick. Mason rolled out of the ring with Suicide jumping off the top-rope, connecting with a flying attack on the outside. Suicide threw Mason back in the ring. Suicide kicked Mason and got a two count. Al said he was impressed with Mason's tan. Suicide with a Tajiri like handspring splash off the ropes. Near fall. Mason caught Suicide with a clothesline. Mason with two powerful scoop slams, followed by a camel clutch. Mason turned it into a choke and broke the hold before the five count by Referee Chris P. Fries. Mason would also continue his attack in the corner with more chokes. Mason punished Suicide with a forearm to the back and then whipped Suicide from corner to corner. The sheer impact of the blow would send Suicide flying out of the corner. Mason would key in on the back of Suicide by locking in a Boston crab. Suicide would try and mount a comeback with some elbows to the breadbasket, but would bounce off of Mason when trying a running attack. Mason hits a Michinoku driver on Suicide, but he kicks out. Suicide sent in the ropes, dodges Mason by rolling under a clothesline attempt and fires back with a flying body press. Near fall. Both men hammer away at each other. Up on the turnbuckle in the corner, Suicide kicked Mason and flew off with a spinning flatliner to get the win. Your winner, Suicide!
"Big Daddy" Storm and "The Sure Thing" Colton Anderson made their way out to ringside. The back of Colton's shirt read, "It's not a good thing. It's not a bad thing. It's a me kicking your a** thing." Storm informed everyone that it's Elvis week and in honor he would like to sing a song from the bottom of his heart to all the special people here in Hernando. The song included verses like, "You be so ugly, I could die" And, "Paper is for wiping, not for stuffing down your drawers." Kenny D., Michael Lee, and members of the Hernando Police Department came out. Storm told the cops, "You can't bring a gun to a wrestling show." Storm told Kenny that he could have the special lumberjack strap match with the police department as lumberjacks under one condition, if Kenny loses he has to retire so that he won't have to see his ugly, inbred kinfolk here anymore. Kenny D. called out Promoter Tony Watts. Storm called Tony, "Toucan Sam" and said you can put all of Mayberry around the ring, but we need a referee. Kenny D. picked the young guy out of the crowd that Storm knocked out the last time they were in Hernando. The guy came out of the crowd and got in the ring, staring down Storm. Storm said if he can count to three, they'll do it, so they shook on it. As Kenny D. and Michael Lee were leaving, Storm walked up behind Michael Lee and tapped him. As soon as he turned around, Colton Anderson threw powder in his face. Al Hall said, "We got some illegal contraband on the floor." Storm said the match is now a handicap match and ended with, "Who's your daddy?" Al told Oscar, "I'm going to take a break during that one because if bullets start flying, I'm behind you."
2nd Match-"The Natural" Josh Matthews, managed by "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock vs "The Future" Chris Styles as these two brothers continued their intense sibling rivalry. Chris was sporting some cool, new tights. Before the match got underway, Josh and "Hollywood" strategized as Chris started a "Doughboy" chant directed at Jimmy. The two lockup with Chris backing Josh into the corner. Jimmy poked Chris with his cane. Josh said that he's pulling his hair. Another lockup, followed by some fast and furious action between the two with all sorts of leapfrogs, flips, and armdrags. Josh would scramble to the floor. The two would have a test of strength back in the center of the ring. Chris stomped Josh's fingers. Josh collected his thoughts and decided to try it again. This time Josh gained the advantage and tried to stomp Chris's fingers, but Chris pulled Josh's feet from under him and stomped "Hollywood's" hand. Josh on outside. Back in with another lockup. Chris whips Josh into the corner. Chris goes shoulder first into the ring post. Jimmy jabs Chris on the floor with the cane. Josh goes to work on Chris's arm by ramming it into the ring post. Sends Chris back in and stands on his arm. "Hollywood" choked Chris with the cane. Armlock by Josh. Josh comes off the top-rope with a stomp to Chris's arm, followed by a twisting armbreaker. Josh taunts the crowd. Chris fights back, hitting Josh with a clothesline. Josh kicks Chris with a leaping enzuigiri kick. Josh wrapped up Chris like a pretzel, working on the arm. Single arm ddt by Josh. Two count. Josh with a perfect plex, but Chris would kick out. Crowd got behind Chris. Jimmy would accidently trip Josh while he was running the ropes. Backslide attempt, but Chris would turn it into a Styles Clash pin. Josh would escape before three. Josh missed a frog splash from the top. Chris delivered a superkick to get the win. Your winner, Chris Styles!
During intermission, it was announced that XOW would be returning to Hernando on Saturday, September 19th with a 7:30 bell time. Al Hall said he wants the police officiers to lay all their guns in front of me. "I will be the gunkeeper," Al said. Oscar answered, "I don't think that's a good idea, Al." Al Hall and "The Mayor" Oscar Barlow also plugged us here at WrestlingNewsCenter.com, which is always a Good Call!
Tony Watts came to the ring and said that he is disappointed in "Bad Attitude" Tony Dabbs. Tony Watts asked Tony Dabbs to come to the ring. Tony Dabbs came to the ring. Watts told Dabbs that he hasn't been cutting it here lately, so he paid some money to some guys to teach him a lesson. Watts introduced "Midnight Gold", the team of "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton and "The Golden Boy" Greg Anthony, managed by Brian Thompson. Tony Watts said he called Brian Thompson and told him that he needed to teach someone some respect. Brian Thompson said he didn't know he was going to hurl, when he got here because the people here stink. Brian continued, "How many people in here take baths?" There was a show of hands. Midnight Gold attacked Tony Dabbs. Neil "The Real Deal" Taylor ran in to save Tony Dabbs. Neil said I don't know who you guys think you are. Neil pointed out that he's got all the respect in the world for Bobby Eaton, but told him, "I'm all about tough love and I will still bust you in the mouth!" Neil continued by adding, that he's known "Golden Boy" for a long time and he's always been a crybaby. Neil told Brian Thompson that he didn't know Jim Cornette had a child, but you are awful. One fan yelled, "Tiger Woods wants his jacket back!" (Referring to Brian Thompson's green sports coat) Neil also let Tony Watts know that he could punch that nose of his and straighten it out. A match is made for later pitting "Midnight Gold" against the team of "Bad Attitude" Tony Dabbs and Neil "The Real Deal" Taylor. Neil told them, "Grease up Bobby Eaton because he's about 190 years old and that's the only reason why he has a job!"
3rd Match-Special Lumberjack Tag Match Featuring Hernando Police Department's SWAT TEAM-"Big Daddy" Storm and "The Sure Thing" Colton Anderson made their way to the ring. Storm was trying to get a lady to stop looking at his butt. Then, Hernando's finest came out to the popular theme song, "Bad Boys" from COPS, along with "Mr. Justice" Kenny D. and his new partner, "The Greatness" Jai Webster. The special ref was also with him, but he actually ended up being the special enforcer outside the ring. Referee Chuck Poe called the action inside the ring and had his own personal fan club in the crowd. Match began with Storm and Webster, but Storm said, "I don't wrestle cartoon characters. So get out and take Scrappy-Doo with you!" Jai tagged Kenny in. Storm in turn tagged Colton. Jai gets tagged back in. Colton called one of the SWAT members at ringside ugly. Colton with a headlock on Jai. Jai would try to escape, but Colton would hold on by grabbing his hair. Colton would get thrown out and tossed back in quickly by the police officer. Big clothesline by Webster on Anderson, followed by a scoop slam. The team of Jai and Kenny would then work over Colton's arm by tagging in and out, isolating Colton on their side of the ring. Kenny would fly in with a double axehandle smash on Colton's arm. Al Hall still wants Oscar to name him Chief of Police in Crenshaw. Colton hit Kenny with a clothesline and makes the tag to Storm. Storm on the attack, punching, kicking, and choking Kenny. Tags back in Colton, who levels Kenny with some punches. Kenny reversed an armlock and tagged in Jai. Jai's offense didn't last long before Colton slowed him down by poking him in the eye. Colton would follow with a clothesline and tag back in Storm. Storm threw Jai out of the ring, but Jai was thrown back in by one of the Hernando police officers. Al said that he lives in Hernando and don't want no part of that officer. Storm with an Elvis dance before kicking Jai below the belt. Colton back in with a scoop slam and struck a pose. Jai would fight back with a hip toss and a bodyslam. This brought Storm in, running, but Jai would duck and Kenny would hit Storm. Both Storm and Colton would take to the outside to try and escape, but would get thrown back in repeatedly by members of the Hernando SWAT team. Jai made the tag to Kenny, but Referee Chuck Poe didn't see it. The team of Colton and Storm would cut off the ring with Storm choking Jai in the corner. Colton would follow with some elbows and start posing, again, while Al Hall said, "Look at the guns on Colton Anderson!" As Kenny tried to run in to save his partner, Colton and Storm would swap out, while Referee Chuck Poe's back was turned. Storm threw Jai out, but he was quickly thrown right back in. Back inside, Colton would ram Jai's head into the turnbuckle and whip him into the corner. Colton would run towards Jai, but Jai moved and clotheslined Colton. Jai made the tag to Kenny, while Colton tagged in Storm. Kenny was on fire, taking out both Storm and Colton. Storm would land a low blow on Jai Webster and nail Kenny with a jumping neckbreaker. Storm would pin Kenny, but Referee Chuck Poe said he couldn't do it. Storm punched Referee Chuck Poe. In a shocking turn of events, Colton Anderson turned on his partner, Storm, knocking him down and leaving. Kenny would pin Storm and the young guy that was made special enforcer rolled into the ring and made the three count. Your winners, Kenny D. and Jai Webster! After the bell, Storm would attack the young man, again. Colton would run back in with Michael Lee chasing off Storm. Storm challenged Colton Anderson for a match at the next show on September 19th. Colton added that he wanted it to be a No Holds Barred Match. Storm was taunting Colton by getting down on his knees saying, "I will fight you on your level."
4th Match-XOW Tag-Team Champions, Syn & D.J. Stunner vs "The Asylum" (Psycho & Pappy), managed by Tony Watts-Referee Chris P. Fries-When The Asylum hit the ring, Syn and Stunner escaped to the outside. While Psycho was sitting in the corner, twitching back and forth, Pappy tried to hit Syn and Stunner with his big horsey chain. I think that meant that Pappy wanted them to giddyup in the ring. Syn and Pappy would start things off by locking up. Pappy quickly pushed Syn down like he was a feather. Syn went to his corner to get his arms pumped up and ready to go. Another lockup. Syn goes across the ring, again. Syn claimed that Pappy pulled his hair. Syn slapped Pappy. From there, things kinda got out of hand for a moment as Syn and Stunner got caught in a rather uncomfortable and embarassing "doggy" position. Syn would get splashed in the corner by Pappy. While Syn was down in the corner, Psycho followed by completely running through him and causing whiplash with a running hip attack to the head. Psycho would follow it up with a flying elbow and a snap suplex on Syn. Psycho with an armbar, tags in Pappy. Headbutt by Pappy, who sent Syn into the corner. Syn would catch Pappy as he was running with a drop toe hold, sending him head first into the turnbuckle. Syn made the tag to Stunner, who came in with a flying kick off the ropes in the corner, Jeff Hardy style. Stunner would go to work on Pappy's hand. Stunner tagged in Syn, who legdropped Pappy's hand and attempted a pin. Psycho comes in to break up the count and points at Referee Chris P. Fries. Stunner back in by flying off the top-rope with his feet crashing down on Pappy's hand. Stunner on the floor, continued to punish Pappy's arm by biting it. Stunner flies back in on top of Pappy with a slingshot somersault senton from the apron, followed by a shooting star. Pin attempt, with Psycho stopping the ref from counting. Stunner tagged in Syn, who comes in with some lethal kicks to Pappy. Psycho has seen enough and runs in, kicking at Stunner. As Pappy tried to fight back, but Stunner would come in with some knees. Al brought up that Syn is a ladies man. Syn in with a chair and levels Pappy. From here, all hell broke loose! Psycho threw the chair at Syn. Pappy hit Stunner with the chain. Business picked up as all four men, battled outside the ring. Psycho lit up Syn with a kendo stick. Syn tried to take a breather at the merchandise table, but this didn't last too long as Psycho would put him down on the floor with a vicious neckbreaker. Meanwhile, Pappy slammed Stunner over on the gymnastics mat. Tony Watts slapped Psycho. Pappy set up two steel chairs on the outside and laid Stunner in the middle of them. Pappy attempted to splash Stunner through the chairs, but when he jumped off the apron Stunner moved with Pappy crashing through the chairs. Stunner fleed to the back. Syn tried to sneak up on Psycho, but Psycho caught him. Syn threw water at Psycho, but Psycho retaliated by throwing a chair at Syn, which laid him out. Psycho and Pappy beat up each other for a second and then Psycho got Kayte back as he giggled. Creepy. Referees Chuck Poe and Chris P. Fries, along with security had to help Syn to the back as he suffered a concussion. Gotta give a special Good Call to Psycho and Pappy for their hard work and dedication as they worked a triple shot on Saturday. They worked XOW, IWA, and from what I heard one crazy extreme match for SnV that included glass and all sorts of mayhem. They definitely had the battle scars to prove it.
XOW Heavyweight Champion, Brian So Fine, who was rockin' the pink boas, walked out with "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock to the ring. Brian hugged Al Hall. T-Byrd said that he had a thing for the bald guys. Jimmy pointed his cane at Oscar. "The Hotstepper" Danny B. Good and the Special Guest Referee, "Downtown" Bruno, made their way to the ring. Danny done his signature, "Do you want a revolution?" which was followed by, "Woop! Woop!" from the crowd. "Hollywood" told Danny, "I'll give you a revolution when I punch you in the mouth. "Hollywood" also told Bruno that he better call it right down the middle. Bruno stomped Brian's fingers while he was standing outside the ring and said, "I'll do what I wanna do because Mama says it beees that way sometimes" as he was strutting. Brian So Fine informed everyone that he's, "Everybody's hero, The Pink Flamingo! Often imitated, never duplicated! The most underated wrestler of all-time! And you do not step on my beautiful fingers!" Bruno calls for the bell.
5th Match-XOW Heavyweight Championship-"The Hotstepper" Danny B. Good vs XOW Heavyweight Champion, "The Pink Flamingo" Brian So Fine, accompanied by "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock-Special Guest Referee "Downtown" Bruno-Bruno searched Brian. Brian and Jimmy pitched a fit because Bruno didn't check Danny. Bruno said ok and just tapped Danny, saying he was fine. Bruno called Danny's son to come sit in the front row. Brian and Danny locked up with Brian taking Danny into the corner. Brian went to punch Danny, but Bruno held his arm and said no punching. Brian screams. Another lockup, with "Hollywood" grabbing Danny and Brian trying to punch him, but Bruno grabbed his arm, again, as Danny got Jimmy. Third time, Danny has Brian on the ropes, when Danny's son jumps up on the apron and holds Brian. Bruno acted like he didn't see anything. Brian would attack Danny from behind. Danny would come back with a low blow, but Bruno turned his head. Brian rolled out of the ring with the strap of his tights hanging over his head. Brian raised his hands for a test of strength, but Bruno thought he wanted him to give him a high-five. "Hollywood" told Danny, "Why don't you get that old hag in here," referring to Danny's wife. Brian had Danny's shoulders pinned to the mat with the test of strength, but Bruno started waving to the fans. He finally got down and counted to one before Danny kicked out. At times, Bruno was pirched up on the turnbuckle. Danny with a sunset flip, followed by a hip toss and dropkick. Brian rolled out of the ring. Jimmy said that Danny was pulling the tights. Brian back on the attack, but Bruno continued to be a bias official, not counting when Brian pinned Danny, but as soon as Danny would pin Brian, he would count super fast. Brian held off Bruno as "Hollywood" choked Danny. Pin attempt, but Bruno ran around. An irate "Hollywood" Jimmy yelled, "This is pissing me off!" Danny landed a flying headscissor with a rollup. Bruno counts to two, then says his shoulder is hurt. Danny jumps off the top-rope with a missle dropkick, but another two count with Bruno saying, "Damn shoulder!" Danny checks up on Bruno. Danny caught Brian with The Revolution/Buff Blockbuster, followed by another pin. Bruno still said his shoulder was hurting. Bruno extended his hand to Danny and tried to kick him, but Danny caught his leg. Brian snuck up behind Danny and rolled him up while Bruno made the fast three count. Your winner and still XOW Heavyweight Champion, Brian So Fine! Al Hall said that's the best referee that he's seen. Following the match, "Hollywood" Jimmy, Brian So Fine, and "Downtown" Bruno all celebrated together. A disappointed Danny apologized to the fans and told the kids to follow their dreams. Danny also told them to promise him that they would not grow up and be like that and to please don't try this at home. Danny B. always has a positive message for the kids. Al said he got a call and said when the lady in orange, sitting on the front row was dancing earlier, set off the richter scale at the University.
Main Event-Neil "The Real Deal" Taylor & "Bad Attitude" Tony Dabbs vs "Midnight Gold" ("Beautiful" Bobby Eaton & "The Golden Boy" Greg Anthony) managed by Brian Thompson-Referee Chuck Poe-Brian Thompson introduced "Midnight Gold" and then Anthony introduced Brian Thompson. The bell sounded and we were underway. Neil and Greg started things off. Neil got the crowd going, as everyone was clapping. Collar and elbow with Neil messing up "The Golden Boy's" luscious locks of hair. Neil caught Greg with a punch running out of the corner. Chicken chant started. Greg wanted a test of strength. Neil was a little bit taller so Greg asked if he would bring it down a little. Neil brought his hands way down. Greg Anthony tried to kick, but Neil Taylor caught his foot and spun him around. Neil sent Greg flying with a back body drop. This brought "Beautiful" Bobby in, but Neil and Tony with a double team. Neil with a slam on Bobby. "Beautiful" Bobby wanted a timeout and tagged by in "The Golden Boy". Greg went to work on Neil with some punches and even biting in the corner. Tony Dabbs in punching Greg, who fell face first like Flair. Two count. Tony with a hip toss and Greg tried to slide out of the ring backwards, but slid directly into the ring post. OUCH! Good stuff! While Greg was trying to recoup and get back in the ring, Tony kicked the ropes. I'm sure that didn't help. Brian Thompson jumped up on the apron and started going at it with Referee Chuck Poe. This got heated as Chuck even untucked his shirt and was ready to throwdown. Tony and Neil raised Chuck's hand. "Midnight Gold" would catch Tony with a hot shot in the ropes. Eaton would key in by choking Dabbs in the ropes. Greg would add insult to injury by choking Tony from the outside. Bobby tagged in Greg, who sent Tony in the ropes, catching him with an elbow to the breadbasket, followed by a running knee lift. "The Golden Boy" informed everyone, "That's why we are the best!" Neil started a "Go, Tony, Go" chant. Sleeper by Greg on Tony. Tony would try fight back, but would get caught with a nice overhead suplex by Greg. Bobby Eaton back in with two elbos on Tony and a pin attempt. Two count. Bobby quickly tagged Greg back in. "The Golden Boy" kept letting the Hernando crowd have it as he beat up on Tony, by saying, "This is what you like about Tony Dabbs? The fact that he's on his knees?" Greg would ram Tony's head into the turnbuckle twice, but on the third attempt Tony would reverse it, sending Greg into the turnbuckle. Before Tony could make the tag, Greg managed to grab his leg and once, again, isolate him by tagging in Bobby Eaton. Bobby applied a chinlock. "Golden Boy" shouted, "Midnight Gold, Baby!" Misconnection between "Midnight Gold" as Greg ended up monkey flipping Bobby out of the corner. All four men went at it with Tony being thrown to the outside. "Midnight Gold" tried to execute a double back body drop, but Neil Taylor rolled up Bobby Eaton with a sunset flip, while Tony Dabbs ran back in and rocked Greg Anthony with a superkick, to send him out of the ring. Neil got the win with the sunset flip on Bobby Eaton. Your winners, Neil Taylor and Tony Dabbs! Following the match, Brian Thompson was livid as he had a temper tantrum in the middle of the ring. Greg Anthony said it was a two count and wanted to get that crooked ref back out there. "Midnight Gold" asked Former Unified World Champion, King Cobra, who was in tha house, to come down to the ring. They asked him what he thought and Cobra said it was a three count. "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton tried to hit Cobra, but Cobra ended up punching Eaton. Al said that he can't see from that far off without those bifocals. "The Golden Boy" called Cobra into the ring and pointed at him as he said that was a two count. King Cobra as he motioned his hands, said one, two, and hauled off and hit "The Golden Boy". That was a cool ending with King Cobra popping up. "The Mayor" Oscar Barlow and Al Hall finished up, by reminding everyone that XOW returns to Hernando, Mississippi, on Saturday, September 19th.
The place was packed for this show at the ConXion building, with lots of loud fans. Have I mentioned how much I love that venue? Oh yeah! For those wondering, the guys in overalls were back. I only seen two of them though.

At the beginning of the show, TFW Tag Team Champions Pain, Inc. (Izzy Rotten & Brett Michaels) came to the ring and announced that, since Brett is injured, they were relinquishing the Tag Team belts effective immediately. Izzy said he would be competing in singles competition and that Brett would be managing him. Izzy made it very clear that he will be going after the Heavyweight Championship, currently held by Bonecrusher. Izzy & Brett left the Tag Team belts laying in the ring.

Pure Destruction (Cody & Brody Hawk) came to the ring and said it was their interview time and for the three in the ring to go to the back. Brody & Cody said what they had to say, then said that because the three wrestlers were still in the ring they would have to face Pure Destruction. Cody & Brody then absolutely destroyed Geno, Jake, & LSD. LSD was injured and taken to the hospital via ambulance. He was treated and later released. The diagnosis was a concussion.

Mark Bravura The Movie Guy!!
----Not sure how many of you remember Mark Bravura that worked in the area on & off?? He also posts his NWA stuff on the Kayfabe Message Board. In his OTHER life, Bravura is a movie maker. He just sent in the movie poster and I wanted to share it with everyone. Bravura is with 16th Section Pictures, which is a company started by him and two friends because they all loved movies and aspired to make independent films. [Sounds like a great reason to start to make movies!!] Their first two features, The Smallest Oceans and Shutter [I have seen both of these movies!!], did well on the festival circuit and achieved limited distribution, but they are really happy about their third film - Live Animals. It will be released nationally on DVD September 8th, 2009 through EchoBridge Entertainment. Check out the web site below and give a brother some support!!

----I just got word that Seth Knight and Jeanna Hertel's father Lester Bevis passed away this morning at the age of 67. RRO family will keep your family in our thoughts today. Mr. Bevis was also the father-in-law of RRO columnist "The Golden Boy" Greg Anthony.
"The Rise and Fall of RWA" by owner Frank Martin
What happened to the RWA? From the very beginning the RWA was for the workers in this area to have a place to work and display their talents. I told everyone who worked for the RWA that we would take it as far as they wanted to take it. The RWA was started when Handsome Jimmy and one of his students told me that they both thought Jonesboro would support a wrestling promotion. Aaron Polston and I talked and we agreed we would get it started. Aaron thought that he found the building but 6 months prior to that I had talked to Ken Wilson about the building and the diesel shop in it was moving but he did not know when because the person was building his own shop and was renting the building from Ken on a month to month basis. When the building came open Aaron and I moved in. Aaron and Rotten Randy and The Loose Cannon and Tim Daniel's did 90% of the work and I bought all the supplies. Aaron was to book the first show and he wanted to operate the concessions stand. Aaron had a person that promised to back him and get him the money he needed to stock the concession's. The person lied to Aaron and put Aaron and myself in a bad spot. After the first show things did not workout as Aaron wanted and at the time he was not feeling well and he wanted out. I gave him that opportunity and bought what he had in concession's and took it off what he owed me in getting the concessions stand ready. As everyone may know at the time Rik Burton or The Sanfransico Treat was the booker. He did a good job and always put the show first and had story lines in place for 6 weeks at a time. Now Rodney Mack and Jazz were just working for the RWA from week to week. It cost them a bunch to come over from Miss every week and Rodney wanted to start up the Dogg Pound Training School. I allowed Rodney and Jazz to live with my family while they were doing all of this. I allowed Rodney to use the building anytime he wanted to train and to workout. I never charged Rodney any rent or utilities to run the school. I just want to see the RWA and the training school to do well. The rent on the building was 1200 a month and the utilities were running 75 to 100 dollars a month for lights. The first 3 months January and February and March cost me 2500 dollars in gas for heat alone. Insurance was 80 a month and the dumpster was 65 a month and for the first year I spent 100 a week in advertising on the radio. The fliers I printed on my own. At first I paid Rodney and Jazz 300 a week and some of the guys got 20 and some got 30 and the rest got 10 to work. I bought a Gold's Gym weight set and put in a bike and an elliptical machine for the guys to use to work out with. When the workers wanted a belt and felt that the RWA had reached a point that a belt would be used correctly I bought a belt. Rodney approached me about being the booker and stepping up the talent and story lines. Rik then left because of personal reasons. Rodney and Jazz and myself would sit down and start story lines and I would put together the run sheets and would hand them out on Saturday and the show would go on. Rodney came to me later and told me the guy's wanted him to do all the booking and take care of all the wrestling. So I stepped aside and let that happen to a point. There would be 20 guy's in the dressing room and 8 to 10 matches on the card when I would get there on Saturday afternoon. Yes I did step in and tell Rodney to cut out matches and shorten the roster. Running shows from 7 until 10 or 1030 was not something I wanted to do and I watched people walk out of the shows at 9 and 930 because the show was just to long. The guy's did not like it and I really did not care if they did or not. It was my business and I paid the bills so it was my right to tell my booker to take matches off the card and to shorten the roster.
Now Rodney was honest with me and came to me and told the guy's did not like it and did not like me telling him what to do. We talked about it and I told him I would let him run it but keep the payroll down. At this point Rodney and Jazz wanted to move over here after they had the twins. I gave them the money for deposit on their place to live, I gave them a washer and dryer and helped them all I could. Why? Because I wanted to and felt like they wanted to really help the RWA. Rodney wanted to run road shows and I did not, with the economy being what it was and gas prices what they were I just did not see how running road shows within 30 minutes of Jonesboro would help the RWA. I told Rodney to run the shows if he wanted and he could run under my promoter's license. He did and never pulled more than 30 people and shortly stopped the road shows. Everyone wanted to be on TV and I thought it would be a good thing to do so I did what I promised the guy's I put them on TV. That cost me personally 800 dollars a month that I paid out of my pocket every month. At this point Rodney and Jazz came to me and told me they needed more money and we talked and my wife and I paid him another 100 dollars out of our own money. I told him if we did this he would have to do some work besides wrestling so we could show he was working for the company. I asked him to mow my mothers yard for the extra 100 dollars and he agreed to help her because she is a widow and lives alone and Rodney just wanted to help her. That meant a lot to me and he did just that, so at this point he was getting 350 a week because after Jazz stopped wrestling his pay dropped to 250 a week. Now Rodney trained every night except Friday and Sunday either with the guy's or alone just to stay in shape. On Saturday's he would have everyone who wanted to train with him show up at noon and workout until 4 and would charge them their PO for Saturday night. At this point all was going well and I was still putting money in and I understand that it would be 5 years or more before I would see any money out of this investment. So, as far as this point I was just a horrible person to work for according to the guy's now. I mean I can see that, look at what I did. I put a company together for them to work for. Provided an 18 foot ring with 2 inch rubtex padding, real ropes, 30 thousand dollars of lights and sound equipment. Theater style seating for the fans to sit in. Allowed them 24 hour a day 7 day a week access to the building to workout in and asked for so much in return, show up on Saturday night and wrestle. I did not twist anyone's arm to take the amount of pay they took. I did not ask them to give their pay to Rodney to train. That was all their decision's, if they did not like the pay they could have left and went to work in all the places they told me they had to work at.
At this point Rodney and Jazz and I talked about doing PPV's and worked for a company in Texas that was doing this and making money. Rodney thought we had the talent to pull off PPV's and make money so I went to work on doing just that. This brings us up to this point. What happened to bring about an abrupt end to the RWA? Well hear is the truth and you will see I did not handle myself the way I should have and I am to blame for some and others are to blame for the rest.
Keep in mind I own the RWA and I had at this point over 70 grand in equipment and TV and all invested. Now in the meantime Rodney got a contract with the Electric Cowboy to put on wrestling on Monday night's. Rodney brought me the contract and wanted me to sign it. I would not because I did not read it. After reading it I found it to be the standard MMA contract and there were clauses in it that did not apply and would actually be bad if they tried to enforce it on us Rodney assured me it was ok but still I would not sign it until I crossed out all I was not willing to have in a contract and let the manager initial the same places I did. Shortly after this Rodney told me the manager did not want to do business with me because I had a bad reputation. Funny thing is I don't know the manager and the only one I knew was the old manager. J.D's cousin would stand outside in the cold and in the heat holding a sign for passing cars to see. I held him with his face in the wind so he would get air forced into his nose and mouth to make him take his breath's. I told his mother and J.D.'s mother and grandmother to take the baby to the hospital. The mother did not do this and stayed at the show. The other child they have was dropped on his head on the concrete after the show and they brought him to me to look at. He had bit his tongue and was ok but something told me to tell them to take him to the hospital right now. They did and while they were there the other baby quite breathing again and the Doctors told them if they had not been at the hospital the baby would have died. They shipped the baby to Children's and with every test and when the doctors would talk to the family they would call me and ask me to explain things to them. I did this and did not mind I really care about J.D.s family so all this about me treating them like shit as he said was a shock to me. I say all this to tell everyone I cared about everyone as a person and treated them as good as I could. I have an old van that is the RWA van to carry equipment to road shows. Ron told me the night of the blow up that his wife's car had a problem and stopped running. I told Ron the van is here and it runs just take it and keep it as long as you need. He thanked me and told me it did not sound to bad and he thought he could get the car going. I did the same for Gary Diamond when he was without a car he used the van for 2 months and then returned it. So as for me not caring for the workers I think that I did but maybe I didn't if that's their opinion they have that right. After Rodney and I talked I told him I tell you what we will replace J.D. and everyone who said they were loyal to you fire them Saturday night and I will open up the check book and bring in anyone you want. Rodney said ok and left to go to work. Robert Smith and his family stayed and cleaned under the ring. Which I greatly appreciated. Robert left with me to go get a 3 ton jack to hold up the supports. I think people need to know I cannot pick up anything over 35lb's. I have a spinal cord stimulator attached to my spinal cord. If I pick up something heavy it could move and cause more damage. Plus I have had 7 hernia's and all of my large intestine removed. So doing a lot of bending and lifting is out. That's why I pay people to do the work that I would normally do.
On the trip to my house Robert Smith who is a sponsor of the R WA told me he wanted to tell me something but just didn't know how. Then he told me he was backing Rodney with the DCW. I told him I knew that and that he would not get his money back. The economy is just so bad that people do not have the disposable income they used to have. He told me he put 300 in the Harrisburg show and 300 in the Newport show and lost it all. They had 22 at the Harrisburg show and 11 paid at Newport. He had 750 in for the Trumann show and I told him at 10 dollars a ticket I just did not see him getting his money back. The first show at the Cowboy had 15 people paid and 3 of them were playing pool.
That Thursday night I txt Rodney and asked him why he did not step in and tell J.D. he was out of line? His response was that J.D. was not out of line he had the right to express his opinion just like everyone else. I told him he did not ,number 1 he is 16 and number 2 he should not even be wrestling he filled out an application and did not put his birthday on it. Rodney then called me and the discussion began. I told Rodney this was his student and he should have told him he should not talk to any adult especially the owner of the company that is giving him the opportunity to wrestle and live out his dream of being a professional wrestler the way he did. That's when I was told I did treat the guy's like they were servant's and that I didn't pay them shit. So I told him well let me cut your pay to 50 bucks so I can pay the guy's. Rodney said now your playing with my money motherfucker and that's not going to happen you never paid me what I was worth and that I should have done more research before starting the company and that I was a dumb fuck for paying the bills and everyone knows I am the owner and my job was to sit back and shut the fuck up. I told you how to make money and I was too fucken stupid to do it. I told him everything he told me to do cost more money to do that was not an option at this point. He said everyone knows you own the company Jerry Jones, He told me he was the coach and I should let him run the team. J.D. put asses in the chairs and so he was right. So I went down there with my wife and kids and 6 guy's in case something jumped off. Yes 3 of them had guns on them and all of them are licensed to carry and one of them is a licensed police officer. When I got there I told J.D. to get off the property or I would have him arrested. I took Rodney into the arena and explained to him that he used the Owner coach analogy so here is how it worked. If the owner comes out of his sky box and comes down on the field and says run this play then the coach will run that play. If it works good if it does not then the owner takes the heat in that case but the coach better do what the owner says or he won't be the coach long. Rodney said not really the coach does what is best for the team. Well in this case the owner of the team is closing the doors after tonight. I don't have to take this kind of bullshit. I have never operated a business where the workers work for the person that is the manager. In the real world the workers work for the person who pay's them. Then I left. When I came back everything was fine everyone was upset that I was closing the doors but they were working in the ring getting ready. I spoke to Ron Rage for several minutes and said hello to Pokerface and logan and a couple others. The officer told me I could come down and fill out an avadavat and present wittiness and so could Rodney. Now I have been told that this is how the wrestling business works the workers will tell the promoter and or owner fuck you and they run the show. Well I have talked to 3 other promoters and everyone of them said that is not the way the business works. First the workers should never take sides in the lockeroom the only side they should be on is the one who pays them and owns the company. Funny that each one said this because in J.R.s blog he pointed out that workers who started seeing each other can cause the same situation and the only side the workers should be on is the side of the owner who pays them. So I quess I am not wrong when I say the guy's being loyal to Rodney as the booker is somewhat wrong and not being loyal to me at all is just wrong. All of them will say I paid them like shit. Well I never forced anyone to take the pay they accepted the pay and could have just said no and went else where. Now in some cases some of the guy's should have been paying me to get in the ring and wrestle. That is just the honest truth.
So that is just what happened and I have been getting calls everyday and some have been from guy's who flat told me they did not like me but knew all along that Rodney had been planning to get DCW going and either force me to get out and give him everything or just leave and take everyone with him either way just screw me over. I have had others that don't know who I am and never worked for me and have said these things. Who the hell is this J.D. Kerry? He is just a kid you gave the opportunity to wrestle and what happened to paying dues? Either case they said the same thing I was the owner and I had the right to fire anyone and close the doors if I want but the workers should respect the owner he pays them and pays the bills. Several of the guy's have told me they had worked for owners and promoters that never said hello to them and could give a shit about how they are and just wanted them to wrestle and get out. It was just a couple of months ago Rodney and Jazz worked in the Spingdale area Rodney worked Val Venis and got half of his money up front and the guy stiffed him for the rest. I never stiffed anyone and even when the crowed was down I took the money out of my pocket and paid everyone.
So that's the story and what happened. If you think I was wrong well then I was wrong. If you thing I was right then I was right. Won't change anything, the RWA had a good thing going and would have been successful eventually. I still just wonder why the workers would want to push a show that was starting up for the second time and support the show that was running and on TV and moving towards PPV's. But that is in the past and gone I wish everyone the best and hope they continue to have success in their future.

The belts were never returned to me and have been turned into the insurance company as stolen property. Again judge for yourself but what kind of worker who claims to respect this business steals anything from a promotion, this is not the first thing that was stolen from the RWA building. When the ice storm hit this area I bought a genarator for my house. After power was restored J.D.'s parents were still without power and looked like it would be a long time before they got power restored. I let them use the genarator so they would not loose the food they had and would have some lights and basic essentials. They returned it to me and I kept it at the building incase we lost power there. It was big enough that it would run what we needed to have the show. It was stolen out of the building nothing else just that and there was no forced entery so someone who had a key took it.

That meant a lot to me and he did just that, so at this point he was getting 350 a week because after Jazz stopped wrestling his pay dropped to 250 a week. Now Rodney trained every night except Friday and Sunday either with the guy's or alone just to stay in shape. On Saturday's he would have everyone who wanted to train with him show up at noon and workout until 4 and would charge them their PO for Saturday night. At this point all was going well and I was still putting money in and I understand that it would be 5 years or more before I would see any money out of this investment. So, as far as this point I was just a horrible person to work for according to the guy's now. I mean I can see that, look at what I did. I put a company together for them to work for. Provided an 18 foot ring with 2 inch rubtex padding, real ropes, 30 thousand dollars of lights and sound equipment. Theater style seating for the fans to sit in. Allowed them 24 hour a day 7 day a week access to the building to workout in and asked for so much in return, show up on Saturday night and wrestle. I did not twist anyone's arm to take the amount of pay they took. I did not ask them to give their pay to Rodney to train. I did this and did not mind I really care about J.D.s family so all this about me treating them like shit as he said was a shock to me. I say all this to tell everyone I cared about everyone as a person and treated them as good as I could. I have an old van that is the RWA van to carry equipment to road shows. Ron told me the night of the blow up that his wife's car had a problem and stopped running. I told Ron the van is here and it runs just take it and keep it as long as you need. He thanked me and told me it did not sound to bad and he thought he could get the car going. I did the same for Gary Diamond when he was without a car he used the van for 2 months and then returned it. So as for me not caring for the workers I think that I did but maybe I didn't if that's their opinion they have that right. At this point I told J.D. he was fired and I did not want to see him at the building again. J.D. left and as he left he told Ron Rage well I just quit too! Ron said what do you mean you quit too? I did not quit I just said I could find another place to work I did not quit. After Rodney and I talked I told him I tell you what we will replace J.D. and everyone who said they were loyal to you fire them Saturday night and I will open up the check book and bring in anyone you want. Rodney said ok and left to go to work. Robert Smith and his family stayed and cleaned under the ring. Which I greatly appreciated. Robert left with me to go get a 3 ton jack to hold up the supports. I think people need to know I cannot pick up anything over 35lb's. I have a spinal cord stimulator attached to my spinal cord. If I pick up something heavy it could move and cause more damage. Plus I have had 7 hernia's and all of my large intestine removed. So doing a lot of bending and lifting is out. That's why I pay people to do the work that I would normally do.
On the trip to my house Robert Smith who is a sponsor of the R WA told me he wanted to tell me something but just didn't know how. Then he told me he was backing Rodney with the DCW. I told him I knew that and that he would not get his money back. The economy is just so bad that people do not have the disposable income they used to have. He told me he put 300 in the Harrisburg show and 300 in the Newport show and lost it all. They had 22 at the Harrisburg show and 11 paid at Newport. He had 750 in for the Trumann show and I told him at 10 dollars a ticket I just did not see him getting his money back. The first show at the Cowboy had 15 people paid and 3 of them were playing pool.
That Thursday night I txt Rodney and asked him why he did not step in and tell J.D. he was out of line? His response was that J.D. was not out of line he had the right to express his opinion just like everyone else. I told him he did not ,number 1 he is 16 and number 2 he should not even be wrestling he filled out an application and did not put his birthday on it. Rodney then called me and the discussion began. I told Rodney this was his student and he should have told him he should not talk to any adult especially the owner of the company that is giving him the opportunity to wrestle and live out his dream of being a professional wrestler the way he did. That's when I was told I did treat the guy's like they were servant's and that I didn't pay them shit. So I told him well let me cut your pay to 50 bucks so I can pay the guy's. Rodney said now your playing with my money motherfucker and that's not going to happen you never paid me what I was worth and that I should have done more research before starting the company and that I was a dumb fuck for paying the bills and everyone knows I am the owner and my job was to sit back and shut the fuck up. I told you how to make money and I was too fucken stupid to do it. I told him everything he told me to do cost more money to do that was not an option at this point. He said everyone knows you own the company Jerry Jones, He told me he was the coach and I should let him run the team. J.D. put asses in the chairs and so he was right. I told him I didn't care if J.D. did put asses in the seats he was fired, Rodney said that remains to be seen. We exchanged a few more words and then hung up on a positive note. I told him he gave me a lot to think about, he told me I should not be in this business and so I told him I would think about all of that and see him Saturday night.
Friday went buy and nothing happened we fixed the ring and had it ready to go for Saturday.
Saturday afternoon came around and my wife and I had decided that it would be the last show and that we were tiered of all of it. Then that afternoon I get a phone call telling me J.D. Kerry was at the building training. That was the last straw I was not going to have someone working for me and not doing what I ask him to do. What part of J.D. was fired and I did not want to see him at the building again did Rodney not understand. Then I thought about him telling me that it remained to be seen if J.D. was fired. So I went down there with my wife and kids and 6 guy's in case something jumped off. Yes 3 of them had guns on them and all of them are licensed to carry and one of them is a licensed police officer. When I got there I told J.D. to get off the property or I would have him arrested. I took Rodney into the arena and explained to him that he used the Owner coach analogy so here is how it worked. If the owner comes out of his sky box and comes down on the field and says run this play then the coach will run that play. If it works good if it does not then the owner takes the heat in that case but the coach better do what the owner says or he won't be the coach long. Rodney said not really the coach does what is best for the team. Well in this case the owner of the team is closing the doors after tonight. I don't have to take this kind of bullshit. I have never operated a business where the workers work for the person that is the manager. In the real world the workers work for the person who pay's them. Then I left. When I came back everything was fine everyone was upset that I was closing the doors but they were working in the ring getting ready. I spoke to Ron Rage for several minutes and said hello to Pokerface and logan and a couple others. Took my computer to the sound booth and my wife took the money to open the concessions stand to the concessions stand. At this point Rodney came up to me and asked why I came down there with all the guy's and all of them carrying guns. I told him because at the time that's the way I was rolling, again I was not going to have something jump off. That's when Rodney went crazy he threaten me, my son and everyone who was with us. My wife call the police when he told my son's girlfriend he would take her outside and beat her ass too he was not above that. When the police arrived Soul Train who is a police officer took Rodney outside. I explained to the police what had happened, Rodney told them everyone had guns and was waiving them around. No one took out their guns and waved them around and the officers checked everyone out. They asked my son if he wanted Rodney arrested and he said no just make him leave. Luke Graham and others were there and were just as shocked as I was that Rodney went off like he did. Rodney and I have had disagreements and argued but that is expected and we always worked it out. The officer told me I could come down and fill out an avadavat and present wittiness and so could Rodney. I paid Rodney his 350 and paid everyone else what they had coming and told everyone sorry and everyone left. Now I have been told that this is how the wrestling business works the workers will tell the promoter and or owner fuck you and they run the show. Well I have talked to 3 other promoters and everyone of them said that is not the way the business works. First the workers should never take sides in the lockeroom the only side they should be on is the one who pays them and owns the company. Funny that each one said this because in J.R.s blog he pointed out that workers who started seeing each other can cause the same situation and the only side the workers should be on is the side of the owner who pays them. So I quess I am not wrong when I say the guy's being loyal to Rodney as the booker is somewhat wrong and not being loyal to me at all is just wrong. All of them will say I paid them like shit. Well I never forced anyone to take the pay they accepted the pay and could have just said no and went else where. Now in some cases some of the guy's should have been paying me to get in the ring and wrestle. That is just the honest truth.
So that is just what happened and I have been getting calls everyday and some have been from guy's who flat told me they did not like me but knew all along that Rodney had been planning to get DCW going and either force me to get out and give him everything or just leave and take everyone with him either way just screw me over. I have had others that don't know who I am and never worked for me and have said these things. Who the hell is this J.D. Kerry? He is just a kid you gave the opportunity to wrestle and what happened to paying dues? Either case they said the same thing I was the owner and I had the right to fire anyone and close the doors if I want but the workers should respect the owner he pays them and pays the bills. Several of the guy's have told me they had worked for owners and promoters that never said hello to them and could give a shit about how they are and just wanted them to wrestle and get out. It was just a couple of months ago Rodney and Jazz worked in the Spingdale area Rodney worked Val Venis and got half of his money up front and the guy stiffed him for the rest. I never stiffed anyone and even when the crowed was down I took the money out of my pocket and paid everyone.
So that's the story and what happened. If you think I was wrong well then I was wrong. If you thing I was right then I was right. Won't change anything, the RWA had a good thing going and would have been successful eventually. I still just wonder why the workers would want to push a show that was starting up for the second time and support the show that was running and on TV and moving towards PPV's. But that is in the past and gone I wish everyone the best and hope they continue to have success in their future.
That's what happened like I said I could have handled it differently and I could have done a better job. But when Rodney told me I should not be in the business I thought about it and decided he was right. The only question I have is this. If Rodney who claims he did not work for me he worked with me, really worked with me why start the DCW? Why not spend that time building the RWA. A house divided will not stand. But if everyone wants to blame me then blame me and I will take the blame. Bottom line is the RWA is closed and I will not ever be in the wrestling business again. I am fine with that I and I hope that everyone has the success they want out of the business.
I almost forgot to add, as of this release the first Monday the DCW ran at the Cowboy the guy's used all the RWA belts. The belts were never returned to me and have been turned into the insurance company as stolen property. Again judge for yourself but what kind of worker who claims to respect this business steals anything from a promotion, this is not the first thing that was stolen from the RWA building. When the ice storm hit this area I bought a genarator for my house. After power was restored J.D.'s parents were still without power and looked like it would be a long time before they got power restored. I let them use the genarator so they would not loose the food they had and would have some lights and basic essentials. They returned it to me and I kept it at the building incase we lost power there. It was big enough that it would run what we needed to have the show. It was stolen out of the building nothing else just that and there was no forced entery so someone who had a key took it.

Monday Conversation with Seth Knight
----As I have said before, this not only a gossip, news and opinion site – it is a learning tool. I think this post has a bit of all of it. After seeing Knight’s tweet from Saturday night about NBW, I thought it would be good to ask what was going on?? I was joined via yahoo messenger/e-mail by Seth Knight on Monday afternoon for our new monthly feature “Conversation”.
So, how did all this start with you being in debt to NBW??
I rent the building for my son’s birthday on the 19th of July. The agreement was $50 and they agreed I could work it off. I figured a couple of weeks should be worth $50. The first week I didn’t get paid was the week of the big show with Bobby Eaton. My normal rate is $20, but they all too often give me $15. I feel I am doing them a deal by working way under what I’m worth but aren’t we all? Other people make like $7?? That is just pitiful!
The first week I needed some PO, so I got $10. Then the next week I didn’t get paid, so that is another $15 or $20. So, I do the math. I figure they are paying me double normal for the semi main against Eaton. And $15 to $20 for the other two week’s worth minus the $10 I got one week, then that would be more than $50; right??
What happens this past Saturday night??
Well they didn’t see the way I see it. Jeremy would not pay me. I told him he was a douchebag and a prick.
So, what happened after that??
Mark Justice got pissed cause I cussed around some women. This is wrestling. The kids in the crowd talk worse than me. I told Jeremy if he didn’t pay me I wasn’t coming back. And he said, fine that he had plenty of talent begging to come to replace me. I am sorry, but the only “talent” who has to beg to get into NBW probably doesn’t have much talent.
Do you think they will easily replace you?
If they think they can just get some random jobber to replace me, then they understand wrestling even less than I thought they did. The list of people sick of working for a kid who has no respect for the business that he supposedly loves so much is adding up by the minute. I am not the first this has happened to and probably not the last.

RassleResults: EWE Ripley, TN 8.15.09
Commissioner Chris O'Neal comes out to the crowd of around 100. He says that he's finally worked out all of the details of Super Summer Showdown 2009. This year, it will be held on September 12th at Ripley Park, and as stated last week, the show will be free. He says that in his hand, he has a contract stating that Derrick King is now officially an EWE superstar. O'Neal then makes a match for next week. It will be a one time return of Hot Topic with Stan Lee and Derrick King facing Dustin "Five" Starr and Bishop. Bishop then makes his way down to the ring and grabs the mic. He says that he'll give O'Neal two reasons why that match won't happen. First, because he doesn't want to. Second, he was screwed last week in his match against Stan Lee. He says that his shoulders were not pinned to the mat, and showed a video that supposedly proved his point. Commissioner O'Neal watches the video and says that indeed, he wasn't pinned to the mat, but Derrick King's decision as guest referee will stand. O'Neal then says that he also has footage of last week that he would like Bishop to see. The video plays, and it shows when Bishop comes up behind The Albino Rhino during his match with Dustin Starr and hits Rhino in the back of the head with Starr's EWE Heavyweight Championship belt. He says that he's had a few words with Rhino, and he's not too happy with Bishop. So tonight, there's a match between The Albino Rhino and Bishop, and that Bishop can explain that it wasn't him that hit Rhino in the back of the head.
Stan Lee makes his way down the ramp as Bishop is going up. They have a brief stare-off, then Lee makes his way to the ring. Ike Tucker comes out to join him as his tag team partner. Dell Tucker comes out to partner with J.R. Manson for this match. Stan Lee will go on to pin J.R. Manson giving Lee and Ike Tucker the win over Dell Tucker and J.R. Manson.
"The Real Deal" Tim Edwards manages to pin Jon Michael for the 3 count, but after the count was made, it was determined that Michael's foot was on the ropes. As Edwards celebrates and as the referees back is turned, Jon Michael grabs the case that J.R. Manson brought to ringside and hits Edwards in the head. He quickly makes the pin as the referee turns around, giving Michael the official win over Edwards. After the match, Michael grabs Manson's case of secrets against him and opens it, but nothing is inside. Manson hits Michael over the head and begins an assault on him. Manson grabs a baseball bat and hits Michael, causing him to curl up in pain. Christian Jacobs comes to the ring to help Michael as Edwards and Manson scramble to the back. Jon Michael is obviously upset and in a lot of pain as Stan Lee and Commissioner Chris O'Neal make their way to check on Michael. Michael throws the baseball bat used to hit him and shoves the camera man out of the way as he makes his way to the back.
K.C. Gold comes to the ring after a 2 week absence from EWE. He says that 2 weeks ago, he left in protest of the new Commissioner Chris O'Neal. He says that he has a problem with the announcer because they brought him in to try to replace him. He then goes on to say that he has formed an organization called Wrestlers Against Chris O'Neal. He says that there's more than just him that think that Chris O'Neal is a bad commissioner for this company, and brings out Shannon Lee. Gold says that he and Shannon Lee aren't the best of friends, but he brought him out for a reason. Gold asks Lee how long he's wrestled for EWE, and he says that he's been here basically since it started. Gold asks Lee how many title shots he's gotten, and Lee says none. Gold says that last time he was here, he saw Lee in the back dressed to wrestle, but didn't. Gold goes on to ask if Lee has been here the past couple of weeks in his absence, and Lee says yes. Gold asks if he's had an opponent in the past few weeks, and Lee answers no. Gold says that Lee wrestled for his organization in Memphis, then asks how many times Lee ever came to him ready to wrestle but never got to work, and Lee answered never. Gold asks Lee that if he had to choose tonight, who would be a better commissioner, himself or Chris O'Neal, and lee answers K.C. Gold. Gold looks at Lee and says that when he becomes commissioner, he will never leave Lee off his card.

The main event tonight is the match between Bishop and The Albino Rhino. Just when it looked like Rhino was about to send Bishop through the corner, Bishop moved and Rhino caught the referee. Bishop grabs a chain and hits Rhino a couple of times, sending him to the mat. Stan Lee comes to the ring and delivers a kick to Bishop, then uses his own chain against him. Lee struggles to drag Rhino over to Bishop, and eventually places Rhino's arm over Bishop just before another referee makes his way to the ring, giving Rhino the 3 count and the victory over Bishop. Bishop comes to and grabs a mic to confront Stan Lee. He says that Lee has stuck his nose in his business for the last time, and calls Lee back to the ring. Lee jumps in and the two men start on each other. Lee clotheslines Bishop out of the ring, but Bishop doesn't get back in the ring. Bishop grabs a mic and says that he will beat everyone in this arena and starts to go to the back, but Lee stops him. Lee says that sounded like a match, and tells the fans to get in the ring. Fans pour into the ring as Bishop starts complaining, saying that he wouldn't do it. He makes his way to the back, but a fan grabs the mic and starts to taunt Bishop and challenging him to a match. Bishop comes back to the ramp with a baseball bat with the end wrapped in barb wire. The fan doesn't let up, taunting Bishop and challenging him to step in the ring. Big Red comes out to support Bishop. After a bit more taunting, Bishop and Big Red finally make their way to the back as the fans shake hands and greet Stan Lee.

RassleResults: ASWF Tuckerman 8.15.09
Our show started out this week like it always does, Rickey Rowland would take to the ring and present our nation's flag for the playing of the National Anthem.
After the National Athem was finished Rickey Rowland and ASWF Commissioner Terrence Ward would take to the announcers table and welcome the crowd to another weekend of wrestling action. Just before the bell would ring for the first match, Johnny Hawk would take to the ring. He would announce that due to an injury that occurred last week during his match with Ray Ray. He would state that he would not be able to wrestle anymore due to doctors orders.
Our first match of the night would be for the ASWF Tag Team Titles. X-Kaliber and Tommy Wayne would take on the Beach Bums in what would be a great opening match. The Beach Bums would have a great start against two former ASWF Champions. The Beach Bums would stay in control for most of the match and Kalaiki would roll up X-Kaliber for a 1, 2, 3.
The second match of the night would literally be David vs Goliath as Ray Ray would take on Big Rig Cody Murdoch (w/ Cason McClain). Ray would have the advantage of speed and agility against Murdoch, however, Cody would have strength and size to fight back with. Ray would stay in control for the entirety of the match until Murdoch would get some "assistance" from Cason McClain and use the Flatbed. Murdoch would get the win via pinfall.
Our third match of the night would be another CM2 moment as Cason McClain (w/ Cody Murdoch) would take on Seth Sabor. Cason would come out as the stronger of the two early in the match. But just when hope seemed lost for Seth Sabor he would make a full comeback but would suffer to Cason's finisher and lose the match.
Just before the fourth match was about to begin, Commissioner Ward would make an announcement. He would state that due to Justin The Juice Smart's recent behavior he was granted by the owner to fire Smart and vacate the title. He stated that this match would be a Battle Royal for the ASWF Title. The match would start off with action everywhere. Just as it was down to two superstars X-Kaliber would eliminate his final opponent, or so he thought. Just as the elimination was taking place Mr. Entertainment Casino would come throught the front door and eliminate X-Kaliber and suprise the crowd as the new ASWF Champion. X-Kaliber would go on to say he was cheated and would challenge Casino to one more match tonight in the main event for the Title.
Tonight's Semi-Main Event would be scheduled for tag team action. Danger Zone's David Cox and Hot Rod John Ellison would take on Christopher Lee and Joshua Cross. Danger Zone would really start to leave their mark with Cross. After many attempts to make a tag with Cross, to which Cross was opposed, Lee would make a blind tag and would start cleaning house. That is until David Cox would gain control and pin Lee for the match.
Our Main Event was for the ASWF Title. You guessed it, Casino vs X-Kaliber. But before things got rolling X-Kaliber would ask for the mic and tell the fans that he had a surprise. That he asked the Commissioner during intermission if he could have a Special Guest Referee to which the Commissioner agreed to. That Special Guest Referee would be none other than Mr. Impact Chuck Fears. Casino and the fans would be distraught over Ward's actions making Fears the Special Guest Referee. However that would not stop Casino in his valiant effort to keep his newly gained title. After the National Athem was finished Rickey Rowland and ASWF Commissioner Terrence Ward would take to the announcers table and welcome the crowd to another weekend of wrestling action. Just before the bell would ring for the first match, Johnny Hawk would take to the ring. He would announce that due to an injury that occurred last week during his match with Ray Ray. He would state that he would not be able to wrestle anymore due to doctors orders.
Our first match of the night would be for the ASWF Tag Team Titles. X-Kaliber and Tommy Wayne would take on the Beach Bums in what would be a great opening match. The Beach Bums would have a great start against two former ASWF Champions. The Beach Bums would stay in control for most of the match and Kalaiki would roll up X-Kaliber for a 1, 2, 3.
The second match of the night would literally be David vs Goliath as Ray Ray would take on Big Rig Cody Murdoch (w/ Cason McClain). Ray would have the advantage of speed and agility against Murdoch, however, Cody would have strength and size to fight back with. Ray would stay in control for the entirety of the match until Murdoch would get some "assistance" from Cason McClain and use the Flatbed. Murdoch would get the win via pinfall.
Our third match of the night would be another CM2 moment as Cason McClain (w/ Cody Murdoch) would take on Seth Sabor. Cason would come out as the stronger of the two early in the match. But just when hope seemed lost for Seth Sabor he would make a full comeback but would suffer to Cason's finisher and lose the match.
Just before the fourth match was about to begin, Commissioner Ward would make an announcement. He would state that due to Justin The Juice Smart's recent behavior he was granted by the owner to fire Smart and vacate the title. He stated that this match would be a Battle Royal for the ASWF Title. The match would start off with action everywhere. Just as it was down to two superstars X-Kaliber would eliminate his final opponent, or so he thought. Just as the elimination was taking place Mr. Entertainment Casino would come throught the front door and eliminate X-Kaliber and suprise the crowd as the new ASWF Champion. X-Kaliber would go on to say he was cheated and would challenge Casino to one more match tonight in the main event for the Title.
Tonight's Semi-Main Event would be scheduled for tag team action. Danger Zone's David Cox and Hot Rod John Ellison would take on Christopher Lee and Joshua Cross. Danger Zone would really start to leave their mark with Cross. After many attempts to make a tag with Cross, to which Cross was opposed, Lee would make a blind tag and would start cleaning house. That is until David Cox would gain control and pin Lee for the match.
Our Main Event was for the ASWF Title. You guessed it, Casino vs X-Kaliber. But before things got rolling X-Kaliber would ask for the mic and tell the fans that he had a surprise. That he asked the Commissioner during intermission if he could have a Special Guest Referee to which the Commissioner agreed to. That Special Guest Referee would be none other than Mr. Impact Chuck Fears. Casino and the fans would be distraught over Ward's actions making Fears the Special Guest Referee. However that would not stop Casino in his valiant effort to keep his newly gained title. But there was one more suprise, Chuck Fears would shock the crowd and take out Tommy Wayne and help take out X-Kaliber to get Casino the pin. Casino would state that after the match that since his title went on the line this week X-Kaliber would put his Eurpoean Title on the line next week.

Coach's Corner: "RWA: The Past, The Rise, The Fall and The Future"
THE PAST
----Before this site even started, my promotion – Chaotic Championship Wrestling – went thru the same fighting with the owners and such. At one point, the other guys that owned the promotion took the ring and hid it from my wife and me. I would later sell the rights to the promotion, ring and everything.
----Early 2007, Arkansas Championship Wrestling drew some big crowds for their shows. Before the end of the summer, this promotion would be dead. They were considered successful, but people within the promotions could not get along on certain issues. They went from drawing record crowds to shutting down the promotion.
----July, 2007 seen a major break in XOW of Tony Watts and Brody Hawk. It was a nasty breakup that was covered by RRO. Watts would go on to promote with Billy Russ. Hawk formed a new company that last just a few weeks.
----MEWA in Batesville, AR was running a FREE show and drawing near 300 every week in 2007. Due to mainly “he said, she said” stuff from owners and operators, the rent was not paid and the building was closed for them to operate. Success was too much for them to handle the day to day operations.
----TLCW won Promotion of the Year for 2006 and 2007. Crowds were real good in Ripley, TN. In December 2007, Dustin Starr beat Chris O’Neal in a Loser Leave Town match. Both guys would quit the promotion. Tatt2 would be beat Derrick King in a Loser Leave Town match in 2008 with King not returning until just a few weeks back. Tatt2 would leave also due to creative differences. Crowds would continue to go down. They would later change the name to EWE.
----NBW would be forced to move their promotion early this year from Dyersburg to Newbern, TN due to fighting within the promotion. Brother and sister were fighting over the direction and overall day to day operations. DCW was reopened in Dyersburg and NBW runs in Newbern now.
RWA: THE RISE
----In December of 2007, it was announced that Royal Wrestling Alliance would debut in Jonesboro, AR in January. The promotion was going to be run by Aaron Polston and Frank Martin. Before the show even debuted, controversy was brewing as they announced Brandon Baxter as being part of the promotion and he denied it.
----January, 2008 RWA debuts with about 200 people in attendance of the main event with Jerry Lawler vs Reno Diamond main event. An interesting note to the whole back story is that Rodney Mack defeated Gary Diamond on that show.
----Before January ends Aaron Polston leaves RWA.
----March, 2008 RWA draws a big crowd under the booking of Rik Burton. The crowd would drop down the next week, but the peak did show them that the fans wanted to see wrestling.
----April, 2008 it is reported that Ali Stevens choked Frank Martin for shoot. Others said it was a work and Martin tried to work everyone with it. Stevens did return to RWA.
----July, 2008 RWA would work with Brandon Baxter and “4th in the Forest”. The July 5th show featured “Dr. Death” Steve Williams and was reported as Standing Room Only!!
----Rodney Mack would replace Rik Burton before the end of 2008 as booker of RWA.
----Rodney Mack and POB would have a run for the first part of 2009 that would have record crowds of 200+ for over 12 weeks in a row.
----Austin Lane would work for RWA and would later say, “I could feel the tension between Rodney Mack and Frank Martin.”
----Martin, in a storyline, turned heel with the “Big Money” gimmick. Many guys working the show said this was close to shoot.
----I had heard rumors of problems with Martin and Mack. I was even told at one time they were going to run an angle where there would be two different promotions – DSW and RWA.
SHUTDOWN: THE FALL
----On Thursday August 6th, the first confrontation that leads to Frank Martin closing the doors happened. Martin drove into the parking lot as the boys were standing outside. He apparently walked into the building without saying a word to anyone. He would call Rodney Mack into the building after everyone hearing him throw a fit inside the building. Apparently someone was supposed to clean under the ring and he was pissed because it was not done. Mack told him he was there to train and if he wanted someone to do that he had to ask them. There was some kind of altercation with JD Kerry and Martin with Kerry telling Martin to “fuck off” and he would do what Mack told him to do, not Martin.
----Martin apparently was livid about Kerry being so rude to him. He fired Kerry and told him to get off his property.
----Calls back and forth from Mack and Martin up to Saturday night were “on & off” with what to do with the show. The boys had picked Mack to be their leader and Martin was not too happy with it. One side would say they were not going to work, and then the other side would agree and so on and so forth. Apparently Mack and crew showed up and Mack was selling “Dogg Pound” shirts. A lot of workers were wearing them also and by the time word got to Martin, he was taking offense to all of this as if they had chosen Mack over him. Martin has also stated over and over that Kerry was to not be at the show.
----Mack and Martin apparently then had a conversation in the building. It was believed by Mack that it was just him and Martin present, but there were some guys hiding in the concession stand in case Mack got out of line. They settled everything and were going to have the show until Mack was told those guys were hiding in the concession stand.
----At this point, it all blew up with Mack telling all the guys from the concession stand to go outside with him and with one carrying a firearm, he said something to the effect that he was ‘bulletproof”, but no one came outside. Martin and Mack continue to argue and everything getting out of hand at this point. It was reported on www.wrestlingnewcenter.com that Mary and Jerry Johnson said, "When we showed up and seen Frank Martin fire J.D. Kerry, who was trained by Rodney Mack, Rodney Mack went nuts. He started cussing and throwing chairs saying that he was going to get a gun and kill Frank Martin and his family.”
----Martin went on to tell everyone that he was doing this promotion for them and he could just shut the thing down. In the middle of all the chaos, he made that decision and closed the doors of RWA. Whether that was the good thing to do or not will be something that we will have to look at when all the smoke clears.
THE FUTURE
----Where does this leave everyone?? Mack and 90% or more of the boys are working weekly shows at Electric Cowboy in Jonesboro on Monday nights and I have heard rumors of other shows. I was told that Martin had a lease on the building until September and I have heard all kinds of rumors on what is going to happen. This is a story that will not have an end until it is decided by Martin and other parties.

RassleResults: TFW Tupleo, MS 8.14.09
At the beginning of the show XOW Promoter Tony Watts & XOW General Manager Al Hall came out of the back to run their mouths about taking over TFW. They said they had made a statement the previous week and would make an even bigger statement this week. They were confronted by the TFW General Manager, Randall Lewis, who produced evidence obtained from a state agency showing that Tony Watts was the one responsible for filing the complaint with the Fire Marshall's Office which resulted in the building previously leased by TFW being closed, and therefore TFW being shut down for several months. He went on to say that XOW would not take over TFW, and that if it was a fight XOW wanted, a fight is what they would get.

Syn & DJ Stunner w/Tony Watts defeated Jay Webster & LSD due to Webster walking out on LSD.
Jonathon Douglas vs. TFW Lightweight Champion Chris Styles ended in a double DQ. Styles retains the belt.
"Bad Attitude" Tony Dabbs defeated Suicide w/Tony Watts.
Hittman defeated Neil Taylor w/Tony Watts when Tony Dabbs came to the ring to watch the match and distracted Taylor.
After the match Al Hall & Tony Watts offered Tony Dabbs a spot with XOW, which Tony turned down. This led to a beat down on Tony by the entire XOW roster.
The Asylum (Psycho & Pappy) defeated Sons of Brutality (Mason & Chop).
