----"New Nature Boy" Kevin White comes out for interview. Corey Maclin is joined by special guest Bill Dundee as commentator. TV Title Match: Jerry Lawler vs Kevin White. Lawler used a piledriver during his shine. White used a chain to start the heat. Lawler came out of heat with straps. White uses chain on Lawler again, but has it hanging out of his trunks. Dundee comes up to grab the chain from outside the ring. Lawler rolls White up for the win. White goes over the announcer's desk to yell at Dundee. Good match.
----"Total Protection" Mr. Hughes interview. He called everyone "porch monkies". "Sam's Town" Title Match: Mr. Hughes beat Johnny Dotson to win the belt. This was a very short match with Dotson getting very little. As I have said, Hughes has looked real good in his stint with Memphis.
----Jerry Lawler interview - Mr. Hughes comes out and says, "You pulled a no-show here in Memphis, TN!! Did you get cold feet?? Why did you let these people down?? You backed out. What the hell happened to you??" Lawler walks away. Great stuff!!!
----"Hollywood" Jimmy Lawler..I mean Blaylock..interview - "Did you see Lawler run like a coward??" Blaylock also says he will manage the Moondogs for his personal friend Richard Lee. Grady Watson comes out. He is looking for a new team. Watson punches Blaylock in one of the worst punches in wrestling history.
----"Too Cool 2" [Flex/Tim Grind] interview. From FedEx Forum - Brian Christopher vs Buff Bagwell clip. Clip included Brian's entrance and then went into Bagwell's heat. Everything they aired looked real good. They came back to Grind/Flex and they were sleeping. They said the clip should air for people that have insomnia. I think they might be building for Grind/Flex vs Bagwell/Christopher at the next "Sam's Town" show.
----Spellbinder comes out in full "Fantasio" gimmick. Spell does a few magic tricks. Rashard Devon with The Insane Clowns come out. Rashard says he has been talking to Derrick King, who is in an important meeting with Condoleezza Rice. Rashard offers Spell a contract. Spellbinder beats Clowns by COR. They sent Spell into the ropes for a double team move, but Spell came back with a big web all over Clowns. Clowns run away. I love this gimmick!! I hope they give the air time to get it over.
----They show small clip of The Assassins vs Brutus Beefcake/Bubba the Love Sponge. They show the clip of Brutus cutting Sal Corrente hair. "Big Cheese" Sal comes out with a towel on this head. Corrente talks to Maclin as The Assassins beat Sam Shaw/Mike Black.
----Koko Ware comes out - "I want you to get in the ring today - one more time!!" Koko has Maclin get in the ring and says he wants to bury the hatchet. He says the "Birdman" is back. Assassins jump Maclin and Sal tells Koko to join him. Koko turns and makes the save for Maclin. Koko says he has made a change in this life. He says that he had a long conversation with Corey Maclin's father at the FedEx Forum. Koko says they need to bury the hatchet. Corey says he will shake Koko's hand if he will agree to be his partner at "Sam's Town" vs The Assassins. They shake hands. A tremedous interview and angle.
----Notes: Crowd was loud for these tapings...May 5th was Guy Coffee's 86th birthday...May 26, Sam's Town - All ringside seat holders will get a free "Clash of Legends" T-shirt and first 300 kids receive Hulkamania t-shirt at the Sam's Town show...I love the Lawler angle!! Lawler will prove that he is one of the smartest men in the business with an angle like this one...Sal Corrente was very good on the mic...I always have a problem with promoters pushing themselves, but I guess that is something that has been going on for years and will continue to go on. Not sure if the Maclin/Koko angle will draw a dime, but it was very well done and came off legit...This was the best show of the year. Great show. If they would continue to do storylines and give everyone time, this would be a must see TV show...Missing for various reasons from the tapings: Chris O'Neal, Derrick King, Flash Flanagan, "The Posse" [Simon Reed/Lil Chris], Dustin Starr and others.
