RassleResults: TFW Tupleo, MS 6.01.07

----Devon Reigns (who weighed in at 181 1/4 lbs. :)) d. LSD to retain his LightHeavyweight belt...Chop Top the Clown d. Chaz by DQ...JoshMatthews d. Chris Khaos...Tony Dabbs d. Referee Joey Lynn in asquash...D.C. d. Bless by Countout...Shawn Reed d. Chris Styles...The New Age Cowboys (Josh Holley/Chris Kilgore) d. Testosterone(Fusion/Brett Michaels)...Cassanova Kid d. the debuting "Prime Time"Nick Grymes to retain his TFW Heavyweight Title

----80 in the crowd with a gate close to $400...The news of the night was that LSD showed up with his headshaved...even though he won a hair vs. hair match two weeks ago tokeep his hair. Apparently, he works for JWS in Jumpertown onSaturday's and their booker had him lose a hair vs. hair match lastweek. So, it made TFW look bad and treats their stipulations like they are meaningless. Somebody called up Slammer, the JWS booker, and told him to come to the show, but cooler heads prevailed and he ended up being told not to come. It was probably for the best that he didn't come.

----Hunter Montgomery Jackson and a few of the workers from the area are headed to Elkton, AL on June 12 to Full ThrottleWrestling as Samoa Joe will be coming in to work.

Memphis TV Spoilers!!!

----Not sure what happens on what show, but two hours were taped this morning.

Two Shows Last Night - Not Much

----I got very little from these two shows - Union City and Dyersburg, but wanted to share it.

----In the “Battle of Too Cool” main event, Brian Christopher/Rikishi defeated Too Cool 2 [Tim Grind/Flex] w/ Miss Thing . Every seat on the floor had a butt in it. About five people were standing. I was told 200 people in the building, then was told 100 with 30 paid. So, I do not have an official figure on it. Finish of main event saw Tim go for a sunset flip and Rikishi sit on him for the three. After the match, the female valet entered the ring, was caught by Brian, kissed and fainted, and put in the corner for the "Stink Face" - Flex and Tim came to her rescue and tried to jump Rikishi/BC, it backfired and both got a stinkface from the big man.

----I was told the Dyersburg show at the National Guard Armory drew about 25 with rest family members. Several of the workers pulled a no show, so Fire and Flame and Chris Rocker each did about 3 matches. Junior the promoter even had to work a match himself. Funny thing is I did not even know this show was supposed to happen?? Good way to draw a crowd guys!!

The Ratings Are In!!

----I am sorry that I do not have the quarter by quarter breakdown with what aired in those quarters. I still have not had the chance to see the show. This past Saturday’s show did a disappointing 2.02 [33,914 viewers] for memorial weekend. There was very little growth, but the show seems to sustain the viewers. It was below average 12,000 viewers, which should not make the company happy.

1st Quarter - 1.9 [32,403 viewers]
2cnd Quarter - 1.7 [27,870 viewers]
3rd Quarter - 2.4 [40,461 viewers]
4th Quarter – 2.1 [35,089 viewers]

12 Week Average – 2.7 = 45,120 viewers
12 Week High – 3.6 = 60,608 viewers – 5.12.07
12 Week Low – 1.6 = 26,862 viewers – 5.05.07
Growth from start to finish – [+2686 viewers]

RassleRamblings 5.31.07

----I watched some OVW over the weekend and Kenny Bolin mentioned Eddie Marlin and Mr. Coffee!! LOL I loved it!! I plan on doing a feature on the shows sometime in the near future…It was Koko that used the chain, not Corey Maclin during the “Sam’s Town” Show with Koko/Maclin vs Assassins in the Texas Death Match. Jimmy Hart also whipped Sal Corrente with a strap all the way to the dressing room. Nothing is in stone with Memphis Wrestling, but looks like they might building something with Sal/Hart. I have even been told 150 as a crowd number, but I will stick with my original number…I came across a blog by Michael Humphreys, which I think some of you will find an interest in. I liked it...I do not cover MMA for various reasons – mainly because this is a RASSLIN site!!! But Dave Meltzer had some interesting facts about TV and drawing crowds today “Spike sent out a press release today noting that Thursday's Ultimate Fighter drew more than double the audience of game one of the Stanley Cup on Monday night. Game one of the Stanley Cup drew a 0.75 rating and 769,000 viewers. That also means IFL on Mondays averages considerably more than the Stanley Cup game one. Yet hockey packs arenas every night. Another example that TV ratings and ticket sales are completely different animals.” I have said the same thing in the past about Memphis Wrestling…Loose Cannon actually printed his “Why I am leaving ACW” letter on Trent Van Drisse’s board. Take a look and you might see why I did not print the letter. Cannon actually wrote me after I posted the ACW story to say that he is not quitting, just taking time off?? WTF?? Damn, he keeps me confused.

Bucci Not on Summer Jam Show!!

----NBW has canceled Mike Bucci for the June 9, 2007 “Summer Jam” show. I talked with Jeff McDonald of NBW a few days ago and he informed that they could not get enough people confirmed to participate in the came. WTF?? I am highly disappointed in the workers in this area. The camp was being offered for only $100. This same camp is being offered in other areas of the country for up to $250. This is an opportunity for you to be seen by the WWE!!! Were there not 20 guys in this area that thought this would benefit them?? McDonald said they would try to bring Bucci back in July and if I was him, then I would charge full price. A missed opportunity by a lot of you guys that is just embarrassing for this area.

RassleResults: NBW Dyersburg, TN 5.26.07

Show opened with Jeremy Moore calling out NBW Commissioner Jimmy Tidwell. Jeremy was upset w/ the way things happened last week in the tag title match, and he thought that Team X should still be champs... Jimmy said that he couldn’t change the decision and that Team X had signed a no re-match clause so that Cash Flow would put their hair on the line. He did make a no. 1 contenders match for the tag titles at summer jam between Team X and the “East Coast Bad Boys” [C-Money/Serpent]. Jimmy also announced that the fans participation strap match at summer jam between Jeremy Moore and Gaylon Ray would have a special ref.

Gryffon X def. Jerry Weezy when Weezy went for a sunset flip and Gryffon set down on his arms and hooked his legs for the pin.

The Sicilian Kid def. Gunner Thompson for the NBW Hardcore Championship after a sliced bread #2 on a chair,

"The Real Deal" Tim Edwards came to the ring and said that he was tired of the way things were going for him and that he was gonna start from the bottom up and prove that he was the real deal - Tim def. Slim Pickens.

"Playboy" Tommy Love came to the ring and said that Rocker's win last week was a fluke and that it wouldn’t happen again. Chris Rocker def. Tommy Love after a superkick.

Kilo def. "The Upset Kid" Jeremy Moore after Gaylon's music played and Jeremy was distracted and was rolled up and Kilo held his tights. After the match, Kilo was beating on Moore til' music started playing and the "Superman" Jason Reed hit the ring and ran him out, he then took the mic and said that he would be the special ref. and then helped Moore up and claimed he was the real winner and then Moore turned right around into a superkick from Reed, then Reed and Kilo began beating on Moore until Tidwell and Rocker made the save.

The main event, "All That" Alan Steele def. "The Enforcer" Mark Justice by DQ when Kilo interfered, but Alan laid them both out and took his belt back from Justice who had stolen it.

----60 paid with a gate close to $300 with 80 in the building. This week Jeremy Moore and Gaylon Ray have a contract signing for Summer Jam, June 9th.

Rise and Fall of Arkansas Championship Wrestling

----A few days ago I got a personal letter from Loose Cannon about him leaving ACW and his reasons. I have decided to not print his letter and let him print it on his web site. Looking back at the short history of Arkansas Championship Wrestling, it made me realize that ACW was self destructing before my eyes. I have no inside knowledge of fusses or fights within the organization, but something has went astray and it didn’t take long for it to happen.

----On 3.03.07 140 people packed the building with a gate close to $1,000 and probably went over that with concessions to see ACW in Paragould, AR. This was after Ron Spence had brought NWF into town. This was after Big Cal and Big Indian walked out. This was after months later when OSCW was just a memory. The promotion went weekly and it seems that is when all the problems started.

----Another problem is that the core of talent never changed and the same guys like Loose Cannon, Hambones and even Buster Johnson were all on top. It was has been close to a year since they started running shows with this same talent pool. It is now time to change and maybe the departure of their champion – Loose Cannon and The Hambones [who lost a loser leave town match] may give them a new life.

----Did the same old talent kill the crowds?? It is partially to blame, but guess what?? They killed themselves. 4.28.07 was their last regular scheduled show. They wrestled at Loose Caboose, but then canceled for the night. Three shows canceled and it will kill you. Can they build it back up?? Don’t know?? Maybe they have pissed off people or people have tired. I just think it is horrible that a promotion that was drawing 80 to 100 people every show drops to drawing 30 and never can have a show??

----Cannon quit for three reasons he stated in his letter – personal, professional and a business decision. Some of you may be reading this and thinking, who gives a shit if Cannon quits a promotion? Well, if you have an interest in ACW, then you are not going to find another person that supports a promotion like Cannon. His long letter of misspelled words that I had to read over and over again to just get the point, may have not impressed anyone. Who is going to put out the posters? Sell the product to everyone he meets? And perform to every bit of his ability?? Not many of those left in the wrestling business. Whether you consider him a goof or a good friend, I don’t see ACW running much longer without the Cannon.

"Rant of The Week" by "Phantom Lord" Joseph Davis

----Well, he is not always weekly, but I do enjoy his Rants. LOL

Greetings conversationalists all across the fruited plain, it is I your personal Harvester of Sorrow Phantom Lord and this is the all mighty Rant of the Week. I’m coming to you always from my bunker in the urban cesspool that is Brooklyn, New York and you know it’s almost summer by how moody I am getting. See the house I live in is what you would call a heat magnet. The slanted roof and its dark tiles draw sunlight down and in the summer this house becomes like an oven. We’re not technically in the summer yet but I can just sense it’s going to be a fun one.

So as I sit here and try to piece together a stream of thoughts long enough to call a column, as usual I’m thinking of the choices I’ve made. This column made it to about 70 or so editions on Lords of Pain and then that unpleasantness with me and Calvin happened. According to the file name system I use, this is column number 38 since I was ex-communicated from LOP. Give or take its coming up on two years at the end of August. A lot has happened in the world of wrestling in those two years. I could have probably had closer to 50 columns by now, but I’m a pretty lazy person when it comes down to it and when I’m burned out I am burned out. But when I think back on it a lot has happened in the last two years.

John Cena was WWE Champion in 2005 and uhh well he’s still WWE Champion (but at least he’s gotten better).

Shawn Michaels was overselling his ass off in 2005 and having good matches and uhh well he still does that (but at least he got his bad wheel fixed so he’ll have one less thing to milk)

Rob Van Dam was one of the most over guys on in the whole company in 2005 and well he still is but the WWE is gonna job him out at One Night Stand (TNA better not f*** up Sabu and RVD’s debut in the fall…oh who am I kidding this is TNA).

Randy Orton was being held back in 2005 and he still is now. But the only difference is, he’s being held back now because he’s a schmuck (Randy you can’t party like your dad did in 85 with Piper).

Mark Henry came back from a devastating injury in 2005 and he just did the same again (Place your bets as to when he tears a muscle or blows out his knee again).

It’s funny I just saw the Mizark Henry bit from DX does the Nation the other day and almost 10 years later we still ask this question.

MIZARK Henry how do you get yo pecks to go all the way around to yo back?

I know the old saying those who live in glass houses should not cast stones works true here when it comes to me personally, but I wouldn’t be calling myself the world’s strongest man especially in form fitting spandex like he does.

Moving along, in less then a week it’s the third annual One Night Stand PPV. Well I should use third and annual very loosely because this PPV will be nothing like the first two. First off it’s now WWE One Night Stand. Secondly the ever paranoid Stephanie McMahon insisted the show be moved out of New York because we unruly New Yawker’s would some how sabotage the show because somehow Paul Heyman would get us to. And finally third the show’s only being given about a weeks worth of promotion. I’m guessing the WWE is intentionally doing this to sabotage the PPV so they don’t have to another one next year because the buy rates will be so low it won’t be worth it. TNA can live with 60,000 buys but not the WWE by gawd (yeah like TNA draws numbers that high anyway).

To say this PPV is going to be a train wreck would be an understatement. Well if it were a train wreck it would be slightly better then what it will actually be. As it stands here’s the current card for the show. A lot can happen between now and Smackdown so I figure a bunch of matches will be lumped on to it during then because nothing says build like throwing those match on the card three days before the show.

As it stands right now this is the card for the PPV with less then six days to go.

WWE Champion John Cena vs. The Great Khali (Pinfalls Count Anywhere Match)

ECW World Champion Mr. McMahon vs. Bobby Lashley (Street Fight)

World Heavyweight Champion Edge vs. Batista (Steel Cage Match)

World Tag Team Champions The Hardys vs. The World's Greatest Tag Team (Ladder
Match)

Melina vs Candice Michelle (Pudding Match)

On paper its not a bad card. I mean you can expect The Hardy’s and Benjamin/Haas to put on a hell of ladder match. Edge/Batista should be a good cage match. The two main events are going to be hit or miss. I think it’s a given Lashley is winning the belt back. Why they keep pushing Lashley I don’t know, but he has to win this match. The whole point of him “overcoming the odds” is that he beat Vince for the title. Oh of course there will be run in’s galore and Vince will tap a gusher in the process. But if Lashley doesn’t win back the title they might as well throw in the towel on Bobby’s usefulness.

The other main event is John Cena vs. The Great Khali in a falls count anywhere match. Now some of you might wonder what the difference between a street fight and a falls count anywhere match. Basically a street fight has to end in the ring. Technically it’s supposed to be like the old Bunkhouse matches where you come as you are and beat the shit out of each other. Falls Count Anywhere is exactly that and in the WWE it means brawl to the stage for some huge stunt.

A few years ago they had Shane vs. The Big Show in one of these matches and it ended with Shane hitting an elbow off the top of a scaffold rig onto a prone Big Show being held by Test on a giant crash pad disguised as a mini stage. It’s pretty much a given we will see some sort of contrived spot to end this match. Cena is obviously going to win because no one would be crazy enough to put title on Khali. I of course blame Roland Alexander of All Pro Wrestling for finding the big lug to begin with.

This is all your fault Roland. It’s your fault we have to suffer through this big loaf.

But on the plus side at least John Cena is at the point where he no longer sucks. When he finally got the advantage on Khali two weeks ago and he got the big loaf to tap out I’ll admit I marked out. I hate Khali so much that I was glad that he was finally beaten. But since the WWE is so predictable when I saw his foot on the rope I knew they would use that as an excuse to do a rematch. So now we get this falls count anywhere match. Basically they are building this match around the story of can Cena finally pick up the beast and FU him for the win. It’s like can Hogan slam Andre only on a much suckier level.

Edge has to be thinking to himself thank God I’m on Smackdown. According to The Observer he’s getting a much deserved long title run as world champion. The cage match with BATISTAMA should be interesting. Edge is a miracle worker and as long as Big Dave is motivated it should be a good one. Of course I will forever hate BATISTAMA because he whined like a little bitch and got Ariel (Shelly Martinez) fired after she put him in place after he apparently made some remarks about women having no place in the ring and stealing a spot that could be used for him on the show. So I’m hoping Edge beats Batista and puts him on his place. If we’re lucky then with this impending Tri-Brand draft BATISTAMA will be sent back to RAW so Triple H can go back to working with him.

The Ladder match has the potential to be a show stealer but it also has the potential for disaster. You would think the WWE would lay off spur of the moment ladder matches after poor Joey Mercury almost got his face imploded by a ladder shot. But everything on the PPV is under “EXTREME RULES” so every match has to have a gimmick. It’s a shame they hot shotted Benjamin/Haas into this match because the Cade/Murdoch vs. Hardys PURE SPORTS BUILD feud has been awesome.

GIT R DONE Airlines takes flight

I mean how you can’t mark out for that? When Murdoch gave the look of I’m gonna go up top and he leaped I was like damn that’s the most awesome thing I’ve seen in ages. People accuse me of not being a wrestling fan, well when I see something like that I say that’s why I am a wrestling fan.

When we come to the next match I have trouble saying the same. A Non-Title pudding match between Candice and Melina. I think the WWE has come full circle and they have officially run out of ideas. These pudding matches seemed like a novel idea back in 1999, but in 2007 not so much. I mean it was Melina and Candice it wasn’t like you were going to get a joshi stiff fest or even one of those SHIMMER bouts everyone seems to rave over. But a pudding match? Well I guess it is extreme. But then again the only thing extreme in this match will probably be a boob popping out and no one noticing because the pudding umm uhh has it uh covered…yeah that’s the ticket.

Like I said earlier the rest of the card is probably being slapped together and will be revealed on Smackdown. In the observer there was this news bit about the buyrates and I’m gonna say the same will apply to One Night Stand and every WWE PPV not named Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, Summerslam, and The Survivor Series.

The number hasn't officially come out yet (it will in about two weeks), but company sources are saying that there was "significant disappointment" in the buyrate for last month's Backlash pay-per-view. Considering that it was promoted as a three-brand show, they were expecting a lot more buys than whatever number they got.

Now I’m guessing the number is somewhere under 200,000 buys for this PPV. I’m actually getting tired of having to explain why people don’t want to order PPV’s anymore. Has nothing to with gimmick matches or celebrity involvement or any other catch you can think of.

According to the schedule there are 15 PPV’s this year from the WWE. If one was to order them all you would be spending $609.25.

OVER SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS FOR PPV’S. There’s your reason right there why the buyrates are falling. To paraphrase Dusty Rhodes, we American’s are livin in hard times. We simply can not accord to spend $40 a PPV. One Night Stand is sandwiched in between Judgment Day and Vengeance. In a span of less then a month there will be 3 ppv’s and at $40 a pop that’s $120. My family’s cable bill alone is over $150 every month (get cable, internet and phone on one bill and save my ass). If you’re going to do three ppv’s in a month you have to expect a loss because people will choose one show and go with that. Now maybe the novelty of every match being extreme will pop the rating. I have been wrong before, but considering how weak the promotion for this show has been I seriously doubt it.

So when these executives in the WWE are “disappointed” when the buyrates are low all they have to do is look at themselves as to why that is. Honestly it amazes me that the WWE stock is at a two year high right now. Well it is until we find out how much of a hit WWE films took on the profits. It’s a shame about The Condemned. Back in the early 90’s that would have been a perfect film for Jean Claude Van Dam or Steven Segal. So remember folk’s when you order a PPV part of that money is going to fund the next See No Evil or Marine. The next movie which has been on the bubble for years is a movie with Triple H called Jornada del Muerto (Journey of Death). According to IMDB it’s slated to be released in 2009. It’s going to be some sort of post apocalyptic western. I mean it sounds pretty cool, but this movie has been in development for a long time. It will be interesting to see Triple H in this role, but I guess it would have been type casting to have The Undertaker in this if there’s motorcycles and gangs involved. If there was ever a guy born to be in a new Mad Max type movie it’s The Undertaker.

Hmm maybe that’s why they jacked up the price of Wrestlemania to $50. They gotta pay for this movie. At least the WWE is smart enough to realize that straight to DVD is where the money is.
It’s funny how these things all tie together when you think about it. All I know is if this PPV doesn’t do really well in the narrow minded eyes of the WWE’s executive board then kiss the last remaining part of ECW good bye. Remember when we were all excited when we heard ECW was coming back. It’s amazing what can happen in a year. To think if the lowly ECW fans only embraced John Cena. If we only embraced him in his match with RVD then maybe ECW wouldn’t have become the latest play toy for Vince and his insecure ego.

Nah, it was always doomed to fail. We just didn’t think it would be this quick.

Well on that note I am done for this week. I plan on being back next week because God knows I will probably have a lot to talk about post One Night Stand.

Before I go, kudos to RVD for putting over Randy Orton last night. RVD made it look like his brain got scrambled with the mother of all concussions. And when Randy nailed the RKO and RVD took it like a damn piledriver that got a HOLY SHIT out of me. So to all you people who say RVD can’t wrestle or sell I suggest you watch this match. Randy Orton might be a schmuck when it comes to his off time, but THE LEGEND KILLER IS BACK and that is a good thing. I can’t wait to see who he gives a concussion to next.

So until next time remember someone has to give you this information and it DAMN well has got to be me.

----I just got a call a few minutes ago about a show this coming Friday night in Union City, TN @ the National Guard Armory. It features an unique main event with “Too Cool” [Rikishi/Brian Christopher] vs “Too Cool 2” [Tim Grind/Flex]. I don’t know any other matches that are signed. As soon as I hear anything else I will post it.

10 Years Ago In Memphis Wrestling

USWA: The promotion was dropping their Louisville tv affiliate as it was costing them too much money. …. Bloody Ox Brody had left the territory. Replacing him were newcomers Mike Diamond and Steve Rizzono, Mike Modest (called Michael Honest) and Frank Murdoch (called Frank Parker)…… The biggest angle on the weekend tv was the break up of the Fake Razor Ramon and Fake Diesel. Fake Razor had turned face the previous week and renounced his gimmick. This week he claimed Vince McMahon was mad at him for doing so, and would be sending wrestlers after him for revenge. Lo and behold, Fake Diesel showed up and jumped him. This weeks tv main event was Jerry Lawler vs Billy Travis. The build up was unique in that they aired promos from Shawn Michaels and Mankind running down Travis. Mankind said that when he hears Travis sing, he wishes he had lost both ears. Michaels also derided how bad Travis’ singing was. Lawler defeated Travis via D.Q. when Brian Christopher interfered and Travis clocked referee Downtown Bruno (Harvey Whippleman) with a guitar. Other matches on the show saw Christopher defeat Mike Honest via D.Q., and the Truth Commission defeated Frank Parker & Carl ‘Mr Wrestling’ Fergie.

Best match of the night. A blood bath. Biggest Pop all night. Fans are wild about the B.L.S….Big Nasty Bob defeated Steven Rampage.B ig Bob was bleeding a lot.

----Crowd was 136 with a gate of $680…Azreal was dressed like Golddust this week…“High Rollers” are over as heels as they are really hated by the fans. They bring out large Snickers bars tied on to a piece of long string get in the ring and throw the Snickers over the top rope right in front of the fattest women there, and say that they are fishing for fat women…Next weeks matches are on the poster above with the TIWF debut of Ron Rage.

----Leprachaun Lucky beat Judgment…Extreme Star Division First Round: Reno Diamond beat Bishop - Reno got the win after Marcus come out to ring and distract Bishop…Scott Graham beat Morgan Lane…ASWF Tag Team Title Ladder Match Team Adrenaline (Austin Lane & The Juice) w/Nikki Lane beat Reno Diamond & Marcus O'Neil - Bishop come out and tried to help Marcus get the belts, but Reno has nothing to do with him. After a big bump, Austin go after the belts and wins the match and Team Adrenaline are still ASWF Tag Team Champions…Main Event: ASWF Championship: Acid by DQ over X-Kaliber (c) -As Acid come through the entrance X-Kaliber hits him with a chair before the match start and keeps doing it and the referee finally get them in the ring but X-Kaliber would not stop, so he is DQed. X-Kaliber who beats Acid until Aaron come and tells X to stop and said on June 16th. I Quit Match for the Title must have a winner.

----54 paid with about 80 in the building with a gate close to $324…They ran a big angle at the start of the show with “Team Adrenaline” coming out to announce they had ended Aaron Polston’s promoting career. Polston surprised them by appearing behind them with his new bodyguard – Christopher [6’11” big dude]. Before Aaron left he set up Austin Lane vs Jerry Lawler, Justin Smart vs Doink The Clown and Sarge O’Reilly vs Scott Graham. He also set up the ladder match for later in the night. Why waste a Ladder Match for just a regular show with no build up?? I was told it was a really good bout...Weird to have X be a face and do that angle?? Isn’t the heel suppose to be the one to beat the hell out of the face??...Bill Dundee will return for the Tuckerman Street Fight on June 23rd… ASWF will be taking the week off of June 2 due to the Portfest in Jacksonport, AR but will return to full action June 9th.

ASWF LAST WEEK

ACW Note

----When posting that ACW was canceling their show last night, I forgot to mention that it was because of a death in the family. It still does not change what I said - There is no way that a weekly show can run shows, if they continue to cancel shows. This is not fair to the fans or the workers.

RassleResults: Golden Triangle Wrestling West Point, MS 5.26.07

----Dirty Sanchez d. Orion…Omega d. Nick Grymes…Chris Styles d. Joey Lynn…Hittman d. Justin Reed by DQ…Battle Royal that included everyone on the card - Joey Lynn eliminated Chris Styles and Justin Reed to win.

----There was only about 30 in the crowd with a gate close to $150…Expect Shawn Reed and Josh Matthews to return next week...The Familyof Pain (Sarge and Mickey) will be coming in on June 23rd...That will
be their big show where we blow off angles and start new ones...Promoter Dudley Williams remains in the hospital in Tupelo, MS after his really bad logging truck accident on Wednesday. He'll be in a neck brace for at least the next eight weeks and with as many cuts and bruises and broken bones that he has, its gonna be a long road to recovery for him…After the main event, Chris Styles and Justin Reed were in the ring doing your typical heel things, and a worker named "TrainWreck" entered the ring. Slight problem with this - he wasn't booked on the show and was not supposed to be involved with anything at all. He just decided to get in the ring and get himself over, even though he wasn't part of the show at all, nor was he asked to be. He normally works ICW in Matheston, MS and this was their week off. Anyway, cooler heads prevailed, but booker Chris Styles was extremely pissed that this happened and that security didn't stop this guy. Here’s some advice to all the local workers – if you're not part of the show or even asked to be apart that you don't take it upon yourself to jump in anyway, just to get yourself over. That's just really, really stupid…Hunter Montgomery Jackson and Mama Denise did the announcing for the night.

----And as noted in the TFW report, I have an update on the CHIKARA/Mike Quackenbush news from yesterday - Shawn Reed, Chris Styles, and Josh Matthews will be working as "The Southern Saints" at the old ECW Arena in Philadelphia on a show called "Maximum Overdraft". This show will take place on August 5, 2007 and will be released on national DVD through Smark Mark Video. They will be managed by Hunter Montgomery Jackson. Everyone involved should be excited about this opportunity as it is major, major exposure for all of them. If working this show goes well, there's no telling what else it could lead too. Good luck to them!!

RassleResults: Memphis Wrestling "Sam's Town" Tunica, MS 5.26.07

----Sam Shaw won over ??...InSane Clowns/Kevin White over Dustin Starr/Sam Shaw/Tatt2…Miss Passion over Christie Ricci…Reggie B Fine By DQ over Cujo with Sal Corrente …Spellbinder over Derrick King by DQ – DK hit Calhoun…”Too Cool 2” [Tim Grind/Flex] by DQ over Dundee/Kash after ref bump when Kash got caught with the belt….Corey Maclin/Koko Ware beat The Assassins… Mr. Hughes by DQ over Jerry Lawler.

---- 200 to 250 in the building with a gate close to $6,000. This is the worst gate so far at Sam’s Town. Tons of factors can figure into this along with it being Memorial Day Weekend, no WWE stars, low TV ratings and the whole Lawler/Hogan fiasco…Kid Kash, Spellbinder, Miss Passion and Cujo were out signing autographs…Not sure who Shaw wrestled. He was doing a Mexican gimmick and I was told it was a real good match. Corey was in the ring most of the time during his match. Corey used a chain that Jimmy Hart threw to him…Lawler threw fire which hit Calhoun in the face with fire for the DQ. Lawler then piledrove Hughes and made him apologize to Renee for pushing her down on TV. He finally apologized, but then ended up punching Renee before the leaving…Not 100% sure on the Fine/Cujo finish…Flash Flanagan and The Barbarian no showed. I think Flash is done with the company….DK/Spell was a comedy match and Hughes/Lawler had a pretty good match. Thanks to Randy Dailey for the help!@!
