Here’s the “better late than never” edition of “What Memphis Watches”. These are the shows from the week of 9/18 thru 9/22. All the major shows held their own that week. TNA’s 2.7 number was back on track to what it was doing during the summer. Could Jeff Jarrett and Mick Foley be the reason? Memphis fans have always loved J.J. Smackdown continued it very solid numbers with a 5.2. It’ll be interesting to see, in my next report, how SD faired against the Presidential Debate and moving to MYNetwork-WPXX-Ch. 50. RAW fell a lil’ bit from the previous week and especially fell off during the 2nd hour. Monday Night Football will still continue to affect RAW’s numbers as even a sub-par game of Jets/Chargers still pulled a 10.2 rating. When MNF does those good numbers it doesn’t make the RAW rating look bad at all.
Memphis Wrestling took a huge bump from its 9-13 show. Overall, its rating was less than 1 point and only one of the quarter hours was over a point (the last qt. hr. with a 1.2). I don’t really know what else to say except, that in my opinion, until they start making it a true Memphis Wrestling show as opposed to a show of matches from where ever, the show will never get off the ground.
Note: The ratings for RAW is listed as 2 separate hours. I will round off, to the highest number, the averages of both hours for the final rating.
