Several readers of this site may be aware of who Mickey Henry is. Mickey is a former wrestler whose time in the business is most notable for his days as an "enhancement talent" for Bill Watt's Mid South promotion back in the 80's. As for his other accomplishments within minutes of meeting Mickey Henry he will tell you he once held the NWA World tag team title and trained guys such as Ray Traylor and countless other famous stars. (none of which can seem to be supported by any evidence that it's true) Today Mickey is most well known for being the long time promoter of American Championship Wrestling based in Boaz, Alabama. In recent years there's been many bad things that have plaqed the little indy promotion. A young died in the ring during a "hanging" angle, although it was rule the death was coincidental and not related to the fact he was being hanged at the time, Micky of course quickly took to doing yearly memorial shows for the kid even coming out dressed in the guys gear to wrestle a match in "tribute" to him. His son Travis was being groomed the star of the show in ACW was sadly killed in a fiery car wreck (along with two others) on I-65 returning from a trip to Florida trying to speed to make it to Boaz to work a show. There is now a yearly Travis Henry memorial show that is one of his bigger draws of the year. The promoter is most notoriously known due to tons of bad press over the years most stemming several charges of sexual misconduct taking place at his wrestling show involving minors. Yet through it all the show continuely draws a large loyal crowd every Saturday night with it's sign out front that is always promoting an upcoming midget match, appearance by Buff Bagwell, Santa Claus, or the Armstrongs. Unfortunately all the controversial stories that stay in the papers and in the local news gives most residents of the area a very negative view of professional wrestling because they feel that ACW represents what 'rasslin' is all about. Mickey Henry now has been arrested for fondling a 12 year old and has been indicted. You can read the full story below or watch the clip both courtesy of WAFF48NEWS from Huntsville, Alabama.

BOAZ, AL (WAFF) - A Boaz wrestling promoter is arrested for sexually abusing a minor.
This is the same man WAFF 48 News investigated several years ago on similar allegations.
Mickey Henry has now been indicted by a grand jury.
This indictment follows our stories several years ago.
Boaz police say this time the crime happened at his home instead of a wrestling ring.
In the fall of 2005, WAFF 48 Investigators first talked to Mickey Henry about the allegations of sexual abuse at a wrestling ring.
"What about having sex with young girls? Under the age of 18? I'm not gonna talk about stuff like that," Henry told WAFF 48 Investigators in 2005. "Why do ya'll come up here and start that crap for? let me tell you, I've been here for 25 years, ain't nothing ever happen and that's the end of that."
Fast forward to more than three years later.
Wrestling promoter henry is behind bars for similar allegations.
Boaz police and Marshall County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Henry on a grand jury indictment for sexual abuse.
He's charged with fondling a female minor at his residence in Boaz.
This arrest is good news to Sherry Swindall with the Marshall County Children's Advocacy Center.
Swindall has been following Henry for four years, and hopes justice will be served.
"At that period of time (2005) there were several (children) that had mentioned him, children not related or linked to him in any way besides the wrestling ring," said Swindall. "It was a pleasant surprise that someone that has been having this allegations is in jail and will have to answer to our court system."
Henry is being held at the Marshall county jail on a $5,000 bond.
