Memphis Wrestling TV Report 1.20.07

----Corey Maclin starts the show saying they had some news about a wrestler passing away. He went over the show and then Reggie B Fine walks out. Fine was wearing a big fur coat and hat. Maclin pulls a bra out of his coat and Fine says, “That belonged to your girlfriend.”

----Maclin tells the fans about the death of Bam Bam Bigelow. They show a few photos. Maclin then brings out Bill Dundee, who he says Bigelow was tough. Derrick King walks out “Bam Bam is dead. Your career is dead. This program is going to be dead, if Dundee continues talking out here.” Dundee beat DK by DQ. DK gets heat on Dundee after hitting him with a chain. Dundee starts his comeback, then a ref bump and DK superkicks him. Fine throws in the JR Title and DK hits Dundee with it. Ref Bill Rush sees the belt and DQ’s DK.

----Maclin makes Fine go back to the dressing room. Jerry Lawler comes out for an interview. Jimmy Hart is on the phone again. Maclin says he has talked to Hulk Hogan and he said he wants the match with Lawler. He said all they got to do is settle on a date and a place. Hart says he wants a 10,000 or 15,000 arena and Hulk is a very busy man with VH1 and such. They also announced that “Sam’s Town” Casino in Tunica, MS will start having Memphis Wrestling shows there. No date for Hogan vs Lawler or the first Sam’s Town show was announced.

----Jerry Lawler with Grady Watson beats Jethro/Nate the Rat in a handicap match. Jethro bodyslammed Lawler a couple of times, and then Lawler picked up Jethro in a halfway bodyslam. He should have never got him up or even tried that. Jethro has to use a foreign object to get the heat started. Nate got in and started hitting Lawler with something. Nate hits Jethro on mistake and then Lawler piledrives Nate and pins him for the win.

----Rashard comes out to announce that he has added the “Black Out Squad” to his stable. “Black Out Squad” [Oz/Bishop]/”Insane Clowns” [Bobo/Giggles] beat “The Posse” [‘Lil Chris/Simon]/Chris O’Neal/Tatt2. Heat on O’Neal. Hot tag to Chris. Everyone gets in the ring and Rashard get in the ring with Rush’s head turned and hits Chris with the Clown’s bucket. Chris is pinned. Not bad.

----Tim Grind comes out for an interview. Grind says that Flex is in jail. Grind brings out Flash Flanagan as his partner for the day. Grind/Flash win the Southern Tag Team Titles beating Kevin White/Dustin Starr. Heat was on Starr. Starr came out of the heat without a hot tag. White blind tagged in and got pinned when he was fooling around dancing over Grind and Flash kicked him in the face. Starr/White argued after the match.

----White comes out for an interview. He says he always has partners that let him down. Starr comes back out. Dundee comes out to take both of them to the back.

RassleNotes: Fine joined Maclin in the commentary and said Dundee was 103 years old. And I believe he said, “He is so old he can not even fall.” LOL DK has another bad match this week, but you can’t blame him, since he was working Dundee…They put advertising on “Smackdown” [both shows air on CW 30] about Jimmy Hart making a big announcement on TV on Memphis Wrestling. They are really teasing Hogan vs Lawler… Why would someone the size of Jethro have to use a foreign object?? Why would Lawler attempt to bodyslam him?? Horrible match…Good to see BO Squad on TV…Grind “shout outs” to Flex in jail to “Keep it down in there dawg, don’t give up your cornbread.” This is the perfect time to turn Flex. But, I am talking about Memphis Wrestling.…I love the idea of White going heel. He has been a babyface his whole career and this is going to be fun…Nothing on the show worth watching except the final tag team match and angle and maybe the DK interview. BTW, the Bigelow comment did not bother me that DK made. That interview would have got tons of heat in a full arena up North.
