USWA: In an update on Lance Russell’s quadruple bypass surgery, Russell was released from the hospital on August 17th…….. Glen Jacobs was STILL with USWA, despite him getting called up for the Kane gimmick. The current plan was to debut Kane at the September ppv, but WWF officials had said that Jacobs could continue to wrestle in Memphis for another six weeks, so Jacobs was still the guy under the Doomsday mask, and still USWA champion……. Brian Christopher got married over the weekend…… Buddy Wayne, who worked behind the scenes here, was taken ill this past week….. Billy Travis was rehired, and was now doing a gimmick where he picketed the tv studios, citing unfair treatment by USWA…… Dutch Mantell was now doing a losing gimmick, where he loses a match every week on tv that you’d expect him to win…..
