Today's Fayetteville Observer at http://tinyurl.com/yaphf2e has a story on prescription pain pill abuse in pro wrestling connecting Jeff Hardy and a number of WWE names from the past who are no longer with us. Dr Black, who runs WWE's Wellness Program, is quoted defending the program noting that prescription pill abuse is no greater in WWE than in society at large. Carolinas promoter Greg Price is also quoted but is unhappy with how the story came out, specifically the tie-in with Jeff Hardy whom he hasn't spoken to in over a decade. Greg told us: "I have no reason to believe WWE doesn't do whatever it can to help it's employees with prescription drug issues. But I am willing to talk about prescription drug abuse, most importantly pointing out that prescription drug abuse is one of society's big dilemmas. It' not just wrestling folks that have these issues, but folks I meet in everyday life are caught up in prescription drug abuse. Housewives, retired folks, middle-aged America. I know folks of all ages that every little pain they have, they get their doctors to write them a prescription for painkillers. Some use the pills themselves; others use the opportunity to sell the pills for money to buy other drugs. And these aren't wrestlers. They're common, everyday people. Everything in the article attributed to me is accurate, although some sentences are picked from different discussions and placed together to make it sound like I'm blaming WWE. But, my intention from the beginning was to point out that prescription drug abuse is something that effects society as a whole and isn't limited to just pro wrestling. I'm happy to have that conversation at any time with anybody."
No numbers available yet on the first weekend of ticket sales for Wrestlemania 26. They sold out ringside seats and the first few rows but there are still good seats remaining in all other sections.
Catalina White, a former Maxim model who had been working in WWE developmental earlier this year under the name Saylor James is part of an upcoming adult video titled Model Amateur Tour. "Unlike a lot of the other celebrity sex tapes, Catalina's scene really delivers," said Andrew S., CEO of Shane's World. "She isn't shy or reluctant, she is really into performing for the camera, and she has great chemistry with her partner. She's a famous model, a WWE wrestler and an up-and-coming recording artist. She actually has talent, and her performance in this scene shows us some other amazing talents she possesses that her fans have never seen before, and will probably never see again." Not very PG I assume...

Dixie Carter posted on her Twitter that Kurt Angle has been taking horseback riding lessons in preparation for a new movie role. "Stay tuned for more details," she Tweeted. Well, you don't have to stay tuned because we have out-scooped Dixie on her own story and can exclusively reveal the film is called Deadman's Gold from Lionsgate Home Video. Kurt will play a villain called Boone. The film also stars Luke Perry, who will be directing, replacing Lou Diamond Phillips, as Phillips had a scheduling conflict on his Stargate show, plus Luke Goss (80s UK pop star) and America Olivio (Friday The 13th). Kurt got the role because he put himself on tape in Pittsburgh and sent it into the casting office. Two other interesting notes on the film is that Paul Heyman was almost a producer on the project, and Brock Lesnar was approached as one of the villains. Both turned down the project, but the casting director is said to keep in close contact with Heyman. The film, originally scheduled to be shot in Vancouver, is now scheduled to be shot in California in December.
Hulk Hogan’s book My Life Outside the Ring entered the New York Times hardcover nonfiction list at No. 12. This is a bad news for Hogan as the Mick Foley, Steve Austin and Ric Flair bios all entered The Times' best seller lists in higher positions with far less publicity going in.
