. Sheamus, Edge, Chris Jericho & Jack Swagger was a no contest when Nexus did a run in.

7/18 Money in the Bank pay-per-view results from Kansas City, MO: The Hart Dynasty over Jimmy & Jey Uso to retain the tag titles; Alicia Fox over Eve Torres to retain the Divas title; Layla over Kelly Kelly to retain the Women's title; Kane won the Smackdown MITB ladder match; Rey Mysterio over Jack Swagger to retain the World title; Kane cashed in to capture the World title; The Miz won the Raw MITB ladder match; and Sheamus over John Cena in a steel cage for the WWE title. Dark match was Santino over William Regal.
 
The Smackdown and NXT tapings are Tuesday night in Little Rock.

The New York Times on Friday ran a front page story on WWE's employment practices and the toll it takes on some wrestlers and how that may affect Linda McMahon's Senate campaign. Story is at http://tinyurl.com/3yhe7pv which is kind to Linda and includes quotes from Al Snow (under his real name), Booker T, Kevin Nash, Dick Ebersol of NBC Sports, and Dawn Marie, who operates Wrestlers Rescue--an organisation which claims to be a charity to help retired wresters although the group has never been registered as non-profit, nor have they ever produced evidence of helping any wrestlers.

Good Morning America featured a story on Martha Hart's lawsuit against WWE. Martha claims that the suit is not politically motivated but offers her opinion on Linda as potential Senator. According to the latest Quinnipiac polls, Linda trails likely opponent Democratic and Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, 54 to 37 percent.

No serious injuries out of the pay-per-view last night. Matt Hardy was said to be banged up but he's been in rough shape for a long time.

Michael McGillicutty and Kaval won the FCW tag titles over Los Aviadores (Hunico and Epico) at the television tapings in Tampa on Thursday. Apparently the finish was botched as Hunico mistimed his kick out and referee Rod Silva had no choice but to count three. The timekeeper wasn’t ready to ring the bell and the look on the faces of everyone told the story. They switched the titles back at a house show the next night in Sebring so the title change may end up on the cutting room floor.

Referee Justin King recently returned to the ring after six months out due to a multiple leg fracture.

Former Tampa Buccaneers linebacker and 11 time NFL Pro Bowl selection, Derrick Brooks, visited developmental this past week.

Dolph Ziggler at http://tinyurl.com/34atddq talks about wanting to become as good a wrestler as Shawn Michaels. He says he spends his off days watching wrestling tapes or dreaming up promos while training at the gym.

Greg Oliver has a story on Drew McIntyre at http://tinyurl.com/2ebov88. McIntyre worked the interview and wouldn't talk about his recent visa issues or marriage to Tiffany.

Multichannel News at http://tinyurl.com/3a5ljfp has a story on WWE's planned promotional efforts for Summerslam. The story notes that WWE is teaming with Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaragosa to send talent to different locations in the city to paint murals for the Housing Authority at low-income rental units.

Chris Jericho announced a multi-date Fozzy tour in the UK and France from 10/10-10/20.

Several readers noted that journeyman wrestler Jimmy Golden played Jack Swagger's dad on Smackdown. Golden, 59, wrestled in Alabama and Florida during the 1970s and 1980s and also had a brief run in 1994 for WCW as Bunkhouse Buck.


TOTAL NONSTOP ACTION WRESTLING

Scott Hall was still hospitalized as of the weekend but is expected to return home at some point this coming week.

Ring of Honor wrestler Jerry Lynn is among those the company has contacted about coming in for the Hard Justice pay-per-view on 8/8... Lynn was inducted into the ECW Arena Hardcore Hall of Fame at the ROH tapings this past weekend.

Impact on Thursday night did a 1.1 rating and averaged 1.4 million viewers--down slightly from the previous week. The highest rated segment did a 1.16 in Q5 for Beer Money vs. MCMG. Lowest quarter hour was Abyss' show opening promo which did a 0.94.

The TNA website posted footage of Mick Foley, Jay Lethal and Kurt Angle in India at http://tinyurl.com/28ke5kt. They seem to be a big hit over there and enjoying the different culture.

Dan Stevenson, TNA's director of marketing who is managing the Indian tour, told press in Mumbai that the company is talking to promoters about running live events in the country within the next year.

Mick Foley at http://tinyurl.com/37exjpu talks about his stand up comedy show and how difficult he's found it to draw wrestling fans to that world. "It’s a bit tough to get the [wrestling] fans out. I was at a Trenton Thunder baseball game and there was a two hour line to get an autograph but it’s a struggle to get them out to a comedy club. They have a hard time wanting to spend money on something unknown."

Eric Bischoff's business partner Jason Hervey, who's been somewhat involved behind the scenes in recent months, just relocated to outside the company's HQ of Nashville.

Ring of Honor tonight on HDNet is headlined by Kevin Steen & Steve Corino vs. El Generico & Colt Cabana in a street fight.

Bobby Eaton was released from an Arkansas hospital with a clean bill of health over the weekend. He was admitted last week with fluid around his heart.

The Iron Sheik visited the Playboy mansion over the weekend after attending the ESPY awards... He's not in the best health right now and is scheduled for surgery soon.

The NBC news affiliate in Orlando at http://tinyurl.com/2uhu36a has a story on indy wrestler Chasyn Rance who was recently arrested after it came out that he had sex with a minor two years ago. They didn't refer to him as a wrestler in the report, but as a reality television star due to his appearance on VH1's Tool Academy.

Steve "Mongo" McMichael, who wrestled for the WWF and WCW during the mid-late 90s, was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame over the weekend. McMichael, now 52, was an All-American defensive tackle from 1976-1979 at the University of Texas and went on to win a Super Bowl with the Chicago Bears in 1985.

Freemantle Media out of California signed up wannabe wrestlers Vinnie Schiano DiCola and his son, Rocky, to develop a reality series called Pizza Wrestlers. DiCola, who owns a Pizza shop in Hagertown, MD, and attends a local wrestling school, says if the show is picked up by a network cameras would follow him working his day job and wrestling at night. Freemantle is one of the largest production companies in North America producing shows such as American Idol and America's Got Talent.

Strikeforce announced that Bobby Lashley (5-0) will fight Chad Griggs (8-1) in Houston on 8/21 at the Toyota Center. Griggs is a part-time fighter who works as a paramedic with the Tucson Fire Department.

Nick "Eugene" Dinsmore recently put out an open challenge to Laila Ali, daughter of the more famous Ali, for a charity boxer vs. wrestler match in Louisville, KY. Interesting idea.
