What's turning out to be one of the most exciting shows of the year is just a few days away! On August 14th at 6PM the bell will ring and the show will start as the NEW Arena will hold a benefit for several people that were in a car wreck early July 4th morning. Jason Flick and Liz, whose boyfriend KT died in the wreck, were in the hospital following the accident. Liz only spent a few days with minor injuries while Flick spent 3 weeks with severe head trauma, multiple breaks in his neck and other injuries.
On August 14th, the Memphis community and wrestlers from across the Mid-South will come together as a special show will take place. NEW is known for it's unique style but on this night the Arena serves only as a venue to showcase the talents of these athletes and help our friends.
Come support a good cause as several returns to the NEW arena and professional wrestling are scheduled and the following matches have been signed:
Alan Steel is currently serving a 90 day suspension from NEW action but he will return against another man returning to the NEW arena in the form of the INKcredible Tatt2. Its the classic "David vs. Goliath" battle and you never know what'll happen...unless you're there!
In another double return to West Memphis, former US Jr. Heavyweight champion Dustin Ring returns to professional wrestling against "Dynamite" Seth Knight. It'll be intensity vs. innovation in this contest.
Next up is tag team action as Prime Danger take on the All-Nite Express. The rookies "Dangerous" Dan Matthews and "Primetime" Kevin Charles will face off against the more experienced Shawn Reed and Justin Smart. These two have had problems in NEW and on August 14th they will attempt to settle the score. Can the rookies outsmart the newly named All-Nite Express?
On this night, another chapter in the Wayne/Nikels saga will be written as these two square off again. Collectively they are known as "Premiere Brutality" and their bout will be nothing short of that! They started their careers together under the guidance of Eric's father, Ken Wayne. On this night they meet again as the 6'4" 245lbs. Nikels takes on the smaller 5'9" 203lbs. Wayne. Both men bring advantages to the table and its sure the be a test of wills between these two!
And in the main event, yet another return is scheduled. The only match on the card under NEW rules will also be a US Jr. Heavyweight title match as the champion, Austin Lane takes on "The Golden Boy" Greg Anthony. TGB is returning to West Memphis and isn't taking the opportunity to add another title to his resume lightly. As with any title match in NEW, there will be two referees..one outside and the other in-ring. On August 14th, another former US Jr. Champion makes his return to the sport as the man who retired with the title 6 years will serve as the special guest referee. Be there as "Nightmare" Ken Wayne returns to the squared circle!!
Admission is just $5 per person but if you buy two tickets, you will receive a third ticket free. Donations will be taken at the door and throughout the night as well as door prizes to be raffled off during intermission. Come support a good cause, it starts at 6PM and you won't wanna miss out!
