PCW Wrestling Results - Aug. 4, 2007 - Wynne, AR

Jamie Jay and Johnny Morton, using the Professional Championship Wrestling name, promoted a show tonight in Wynne, Arkansas, at the Odell McCallum Community Center inside the Boys and Girls Club of Cross County.

J. R. Mauler def. Deadly Dale by DQ . . . The Big Indian Quixote def. Zander Gray . . . J. R. Mauler & Cross def. Deadly Dale & Idol Bane . . . Bill Dundee & “Royal Rebel” Gary Lawler battled in a match that turned into a six man tag that saw Dundee, Brandon Baxter & Jamie Jay def. Johnny Morton, Scott Fury & Lawler.

RassleNotes: Great crowd of 200 plus for an approximate gate of $1,400. Money raised from the event went to the family of 14-year-old Jarvis Jones, of Wynne, who has level 3 brain cancer . . . Opening match saw outside interference from Bane to help Dale which led to the eventual tag match later in the night . . . Crowd was very hot all night.

Memphis Wrestling TV Report 8.04.07

----Corey Maclin welcomes everyone from the Autozone Park. Jerry Lawler interview with Queen Renee/Princess Leslie. Lawler introduced Redbird players Rick Ankiel and Tagg Bozied and Redbird hitting coach Rick Eckstein fully equipped with baseball bats. He said they would help him later tonight with Johnny Rotten, because Rotten/Vicious always like to have people run in.

----Johnny Dotson/Tatt2 beat Derrick King/Shawn Shultz with Rashard Devon. It was raining. Heat on Tatt2 with hot tag to Dotson. Not much of a match as it was raining real hard. Nothing wrong, but it was like they went home quick.

----"Sam's Town" "The Finale" advertised are Dutch Mantel, Bill Dundee, Jimmy Valiant, Jerry Lawler vs Sid Vicious, "Midnight Express" [Dennis Coundry/Bobby Eaton] with Jimmy Cornette and will feature all the local talent. Oh, I almost forgot - one of the big names listed was also Corey "Mr. Ego" Maclin.

----Mr. Hughes interview. Mr. Hughes beat Dustin Starr in a quick good match. Hughes gave more to Starr than he usually gives anyone. Hughes pinned Starr using the ropes.

----Spellbinder beat Kevin White with a roll up when White tried for a figure four leglock. A good short match. Spell looked good here. He did a few fireballs from his hands and one from the skull pole before getting in the ring.

----"Too Cool 2" [Tim Grind/Flex] interview. Koko B Ware comes out in full gimmick with Frankie with Kid Kash. Rockey The Redbird [Redbirds mascot] comes out with his family of mascots and Ware dances with them.

----Southern Tag Team Title Match: Kash/Koko beat TC2 by DQ when Grind was caught using one of the title belts. Heat was on Ware, but very little. Hot tag to Kash. Grind slid in the first belt thru Flex' legs and Kash hit Flex with it. He had him down for the pin, when Grind jumped in. Good hold to hold stuff with Kash/Flex early, and then they did a spot where it looked like Grind/Flex got confused. Why did they not edit that out?? After the match the family of Redbird mascots jumped TC2 and put redbird feathers all over them.

----Jerry Lawler with Renee/Leslie/Redbirds beat Johnny Rotten. Lawler says, "Like Cena says, if you want some, come get some." LOL Rotten interview with him putting down the Redbirds and asked Lawler if he was trying to hire all the Platinum Plus [strip club in Memphis]girls?? Finish had, after a ref bump,Rotten used a chain on Lawler. Rotten is celebrating when Redbirds coach Rick Eckstein (brother of STL. Cardinal's player David Eckstein) climbs to the top rope and does a flying body splash on Rotten to knock him off his feet and then the King rolls up Rotten for the win. Lawler did his classic comeback with pulling down his strap and a fist drop, but Rotten kicked out of it. Lawler grabbed Rotten in a headlock that lead to the ref bump. Typical big man vs Lawler bout. Mr. Hughes tried to help Rotten, but the players run him away.

----Notes: Cornette has not showed up at least 3 times when he was advertised. Not sure if this was Maclin or Corney's fault??...How can Maclin actually consider himself a wrestler and be announced in the same breath as Lawler, Dundee and Valiant???...Maclin was beyond horrible during the commentary for the main event. He made up like 4 new words. LOL…Princess Leslie looked real young…Not a good shot of the crowd while wrestling was going on and it looked like less than were there. Rain pouring down made everyone move around – there was over 4,000 left to watch wrestling though...Thanks to Shawn Jenkins who actually sent us an error in reporting as mo_vols had reported that White won his bout vs Spell, but it was the opposite.

All Pro Productions!!

----Just got word from the dressing room that there looks like 1,500 people in the crowd for tonight's show. I should have a full report up sometime tomorrow afternoon.

RassleResults: ASWF Paragould, AR 8.03.07

----Sexy KC beat Jason Andrews….”Treat Connection” [Loose Cannon/San Franscso Treat] beat “The Leprechauns”…Kamala beat Acid…Jake Roberts over Scotty Fury…Battle Royal Won by X-Kaliber…Brandon Baxter beat Austin Lane.

----I have it confirmed that there were 300 in the building as opposed to the 100 I had reported earlier today. Someone had their figures way off early this morning, but as I stated in the report it was “prelim” figures. So, ASWF did outdraw LAW as I had predicted, but it was a landslide or anything. I find it crazy that they had 1,000 in the building last time with Brandon Baxter and Bill Dundee being the only outside talent and this time it was Jake Roberts/Kimala and Baxter and they draw less. I did talk with a few guys on the show and they felt like it was a good show, but due to it being summer time [hot as hell] and they also had the support of the school last time, then that was the reasons they did not draw well…Jake wrestled in shirt, sweat pants and cowboy boots. But, why say anything to him, ASWF promoter Aaron Polston was wearing the same thing the last time I saw him sans the cowboy boots. LOL…Finish of the Lane/BB match had Lane take a bump off a ladder, BB then dove over the ladder for a splash, in which Lane caught him with a boot. They both couldn’t answer the 10 count, so they ruled a “Sudden Death” with BB pinning Lane.

Lawler vs Booker T

----Jerry Lawler, who will be working "The Golden Boy" Greg Anthony next weekend at TLCW's "Super Summer Showdown", is working the weekend Raw house shows against King Booker. This is probably just a few tune up matches to see how good the "SummerSlam" bout can be.

Hulk Hogan "I Thank God I Am Alive."

WRESTLING legend Hulk Hogan has lashed out at the industry which made him a megastar.

And he has demanded an end to the decades-long cover-up of steroid abuse in the sport.

Hogan, 54, took the muscle-enhancing drugs almost daily for 16 years during his career and says he can spot a user a mile off.

With more than 100 grapplers dying before the age of 50 in the last decade, he is begging others to face up to the crisis.

The Sun has been leading an anti-steroid abuse campaign since wrestler Chris Benoit murdered his wife and seven-year-old son before committing suicide in June.

A handful of former stars have already spoken out and prompted US politicians to start investigating the industry.

But many in the WWE, the world's biggest fight franchise, deny there is a problem and have blasted their ex-colleagues as bitter failures who haven't wrestled in years.

They cannot same the same about Hogan, wrestling's equivalent of Pele or Muhammad Ali who was fighting for them just 12 months ago.

In an exclusive Sun interview, he said: "Are steroids a problem in wrestling? Oh God yeah. They have always been a part of the business. It's prevalent."

"But there's not some big mystery to it. Just open your eyes and it's there. You can look at a wrestler and pretty much tell."

"They will be above their weight range, with these big veins. My body weight is around 285lb, depending on how much junk I eat. Even if I was 25 and clean, I could probably only carry 300lb."

"Yet when I was wrestling I weighed anywhere between 320 and 340lb, because my body was full of water weight."

"My face was puffy, my arms were so bulky I couldn't touch my shoulders. You could take one look at me and know I was on something."

"Steroids have been around for ever in other sports too, but if we have to pick on somebody now then let's pick on wrestling."

"I'm glad the business is in the spotlight because they're probably the only ones smart enough, after being able to dodge it for so long, to know how to fix it."

NOW CLEAN ... obscene muscles have gone

The Hulkster added: "I remember up until the early 1990s any wrestler could walk into a doctor and they'd write you a prescription for steroids."

"Then there was a huge trial where WWE boss Vince McMahon was unfairly accused and rightly acquitted of distributing the drugs to his workers."

"This ushered in the era of wrestlers playing 'hide and seek'."

"If they can get away with things then they will. But now I think we're at the 11th hour."

"We can't have hide and seek being played any more."

"The WWE say they are drug testing, but if they are then it's not good enough. Because these guys have to stop dying."

Despite going on TV at the time to deny it, Hogan has since confessed he regularly used steroids between 1975 and 1991.

In that period he helped turn the WWE, then known as the WWF, from a New York-based wrestling group into a global entertainment brand.
In 1984 he won their world heavyweight championship, holding it on and off for the best part of the next seven years and starring in the main event at six of their first seven WrestleMania extravaganzas.

But behind his superhero mystique lay a dirty secret.

In his 2003 autobiography Hogan admitted: "I would tell kids to train, say their prayers and take their vitamins. But it wasn't just vitamins I was taking.

"But at that time every wrestler I knew was on steroids. They were part of my generation. I'm not making excuses but they were everywhere. And a lot of that had to do with what we knew about them, which obviously wasn't enough."

"The most commonly prescribed were testosterone, Deca-Durabolin and Dianabol. I never had a question about whether I would take them."

"It was part of my daily regimen. Did you take a shower? Yeah. Did you brush your teeth? Yeah. Did you take your steroids? Yeah."

"That was the deal. It was how I lived."

Alongside steroids, experts also blame painkillers and recreational drug abuse for the high number of deaths among young wrestlers.
Again it is something Hogan witnessed and he is pleased to say the industry has made progress on the latter.

He said: "There's definitely much less of a party scene and cocaine use today."

"When I went back to the WWE, I'd go down to the Marriott bar after the show - and all you would see is Ric Flair there with a Jack Daniels and Hulk Hogan drinking a beer."

"In the old days EVERY wrestler would be in the bar and then they'd go out and stay out all night."1

"But now they are all upstairs on their computers. Maybe they're not playing games up there, but it certainly seems a lot better."

"As for painkillers, like steroids, they have always been around. I was naïve when I first entered wrestling and didn't even know what they were. But there was a point later on where I got hurt and found out… pretty quickly!"
"I used them but not to the point of abusing and to the levels of the horror stories I've heard."
"I always knew my limitations and had regular blood tests and physicals."
"During the years when I would hear of these massive doses of pills some guys would take, I remember thinking they would laugh at me if they knew what I was involved in. I would be a big joke."
Hogan is currently in talks to start his own promotion, in which the focus will be firmly taken off those with superhuman physiques.
He said: "I don't know what the other federations can do, but I do know what I can do and it's all part of my plan for a new wrestling idea."
"It came from another person and when they told it to me it was the smartest thing I'd ever heard."
"I have been speaking to people from the American television networks and other important people in LA. In the first two weeks they raised $40million (£20million). I need about $80-100million to start it up."
"If me and my partners pull it off then the wrestlers will have a more natural look and an easier schedule - all of the things people are saying the business needs."
"And then Vince McMahon and everyone else in the business will have to follow suit."
Hogan is fully aware that his stance opens him up to charges of hypocrisy.
Critics argue he was the "poster boy" for steroids throughout much of his career and other wrestlers emulated him to get the same "main event" physique.

So isn't Hulk Hogan's plea to get steroids out of wrestling like George Bush calling for troops to leave Iraq?

The Hulkster replies: "I'm not trying to repent but I am being honest about my failings. I want youngsters to be educated.

"If I was 25 right now, coming into this business, I don't know what I'd be like in that locker room.

"But I know one thing. Wrestling needs to make sure everything is above board.

"So is it hypocritical of me? Yes.

"But is it hypocritical of me now in 2007? No. I think it's more like poetic justice.

"I've learned from being around, surviving and watching the many

mistakes I and others made.

"I thank God I'm still alive!"

----Credit: Appeared in UK magazine The Sun By SIMON ROTHSTEIN of THE LILSBOYS August 04, 2007. I wonder how much of this is a work?? I mean if Hogan does try to start a promotion of clean wrestlers, this would be the perfect time to do it. He would get all kinds of GOOD press and would come off as the good guy big time!!

Hart Always Smells Like A Rose??

XOW Wrestling Results - Aug. 3, 2007 - Independence, MS

Marcus O’Neil def. Reno Diamond . . . Wraith def. Big Daddy Storm . . . Danny B. Good def. Chris Frazier . . . TFW Champion Max Steele def. A. C. Styles . . . "The Posse" [Lil Chris/Simon Reed] def. Eric Wayne & Kid Nikels . . . “Superstar” Bill Dundee def. Sarge O’Reilly by DQ after Sarge initially won the match only to have the decision reversed by referee Bill Rush.

RassleNotes: Great crowd of 200 fans plus. Gate approximately $1400. Several solid matches with Reno/Marcus full of high flying action and the tag match complete with psychology. Wayne and Nikels have really impressed fans and promoters alike around the region. Of course, Dundee/Sarge was a good old school bout that featured an after match brawl in which Sarge held Dundee, while “Hollywood” Jimmy Blaylock prepared a fireball. He threw it only to miss Dundee and hit Sarge. Looked really good.

----Congrats to XOW and crew for pulling off a good show. Everyone that I have talked to that worked it last night had only good things to say...Sarge was booking the show...I was told they may return in two more weeks for the next show..."The Posse" did like triple heat and when they did win the place popped big...Everyone was paid as they walked in the dressing room - every cent of the guarantee.

RassleResults: LAW Rector, AR - 150 to 175 Attendance!!!

Shannon Lee over Trendsetter(in a dress)
Lil' Tim Alfonso over Gryffon X by DQ
Tommy Redneck over Rockin' Randy
"The Asylum" [Psycho/Arnez] over "Jamacin Me Crazy"(Mr. Marley & Shabba The Shocker) in a Hardcore Tag Match
"The Golden Boy" Greg Anthony over Slim "The Bulldog" Pickens to retain the LAW Heavyweight Title

----160-175 in the crowd for the free show has been confirmed...Trendsetter has to keep wearing the dress until he wins. Next week Trendsetter vs Redneck, if Trendsetter wins he gets to take off the dress but if he loses Trendsetter will be EGGED!...Next week Hardcore LAW Tag Team Title Match: Bane/Graham vs The Asylum. Next week is also a benefit show..."Jamacin Me Crazy" were Dell Tucker and Rod Dent III under hoods...I was told the heat for the main event was awesome. The kids were all around the ring hitting the ring wanting Slim Pickens to win. Pickens has been getting good reviews since stepping into the door - on his attitude and listening. LAW have made their first homegrown "star" since the opening of the new building and weekly show with him. Good booking and good attitude always helps.

Prelim Attendance Figures!!

----It is early in the day, but I just got a phone call that had the followng figures

*ASWF Paragould, AR - 100-150 people
*XOW Independence, MS - 225-250 people
*LAW Rector, AR - 150-175 people

----A big surprise there to see the ASWF draw was so few. What was the deal with that?? And, I was the first to say that ASWF would outdraw LAW and LAW would have probably regular crowd size! Wrong!! Congrats to LAW - cast and crew. Also, congrats to XOW for drawing such a good crowd - it was almost as big as the last "Sam's Town" show and they have 40,000 people watching their TV every week.

Sal To Appeal!!

----"The Big Cheese" Sal Corrente had decided to appeal the court decision handed down to him by the djudge on Wednesday morning in Tunica, MS. I talked with Sal late last night and he told me that he will be appealing the case and Corey Maclin and the people from Sam’s Town will be subpoenaed this time.

----My understanding of the wavier that Corrente signed is that it could only be used in a civil case. I was told that you can’t sign away your rights to criminal actions. If that was so, then promoters could shoot or stab a wrestler and get away with it.

----So, what will be different in court this time? There will be witnesses from each side present and that might change the whole outlook of the situation. Along with Maclin, and “Sam’s Town” employees look for Sal to call The Assassins and few of the other workers there that night.

TGB Helps Promote Tonight's Show

----One of the best local radio stations - 95.5 out of Popular Bluff, MO talked with “The Golden Boy” Greg Anthony on their radio show this morning. Apparently one of their popular DJs will be at Rector, AR tonight @ LAW’s FREE SHOW.

TIWF TV Report 8.02.07 by the Rambling Critic

Show opened with Jon Seymore and Wildside sitting at the desk. Seymore talks about holding up all the TIWF titles and tells that in the show there would be a TV title match and matches from the TIWF title tourney. But first why is the TIWF title held up?

MATCH # 1
TIWF Regional Heavyweight Title Match
P.K. Ripper vs Way Cool (c)

In this match the camera went black about 6 times. And the match was edited twice. Basic spotfest match with the problem being that they botched too many spots and got blown up quick. Hotrod stated during the match that with the TIWF title came millions of dollars. MILLIONS....where do I sign for a match? Finish had a ref bump with a german suplex double pin. Title gets held up by Seymore. 2 Stars. This match had MAYBE 15 people watching.

MATCH # 2
Title Tourney Match
Big Boy Bob w/Steven Rampage vs Johnny Thunder

The less said about this match the better. Match was edited four times. Basic big vs big match. Johnny Thunder wins with a big splash. 1 Star cause I was surprised by the finish. Taped on a different day, this match had about 35 people watching.

MATCH # 3
Title Tourney Match
Moondog Rex vs Wyked

First thing I noticed was that Wyked works to the wrong side. This match was a total squash match with Moondog winning with a spear....yes a spear. 1/2 Star. Same crowd as before with about 35.

DANCE OFF
Boogeyman vs Wyked

Wyked attacks Boogeyman and Lawman Williams makes the save. Wyked hits Lawman with powder and so Jonathon Storm makes the save. Announce the formation of Law and Order.

MATCH # 4
Triple Treat Tag
Azreal & Kraven Hunter vs Brimstone & J.R. Rich vs Law and Order

Again they don't use spellcheck. The screen said that Law and Order consisted of Lawman Williams and J.R. Rich. WTF? Kraven Hunter is now in a mask, last week he was in Spellbinderish face paint. BTW, the mask is baby blue....not the best choice. Couldn't tell if Brimstone and J.R. were Babys of Heels. Finish had Kraven taking a Doomsday Device from Lawman (holder) and Storm (flyer). 2 Stars, mostly for the Doomsday Device. Again 35 in crowd. Also, J.R. Rich should NEVER do a leg drop again, it looked horrible, like he was scared of the butt-bump.

MATCH # 5
Battle Royal for the JEA 6 TV Title

Kraven Hunter thrown out by Johnny Thunder, Weasel by Azreal (although he went through the ropes), Wyked by J.R. Rich, J.R. by Spyder, Azreal by Spyder, Johnny Thunder by Spyder. Spyder pulled down the rope and Thunder flew over. Funny / Scary part in the match had Azreal and Thunder spear each other at the same time....MISCOMMUNICATION. Spyder is sorta doing a Fit Finley gimmick and I love it. Spyder has gotten SO MUCH better than he used to be. Since I am a fan of battle royals....3 Stars. But again they edited the match. But I really do like the Fit Finley gimmick.

Notes

They had some commercials this week. The commercial was for the live show and for the website. Wildside was still in gimmick behind the desk. Wildside was REALLY GOOD on the mike. Seymore was better than last week but still nowhere in Wildside's league. Way Cool was suspended two weeks for attacking P.K. Ripper after their match. Most of the wrestlers on the show wore pants and t-shirts. GET GEAR. Please GET GEAR. Overall a better show than the last but they need to get the glitches gone and have their workers LOOK LIKE wrestlers and not some bums from wal-mart.

Site News!!!

----As I said in a previous posts, I would be doing some tweaking for the new format of the site. I have posted a poll in the upper right hand corner of the page. Which format did you like the best?? The way it was yesterday or the way it is today?? VOTE!!

RassleBits: WWE Ratings Update and more WWE News

----For those that will wonder, I am not going to cover the WWE on a regular basis. But, all four topics are things we have covered here on the site or on RasslePod.

----The Monday night Raw rating of 2.51 may have been caused by a glitch at Nielsen Media Research. It is being reported that Nielsen has contacted programmers (such as WWE), alerting them of the possible error. I should have a update posted asap. I wouldn't want to post something bad about the WWE. LOL

----Blaming the fall on 'The Condemned' movie, WWE reported just $9.7 million operating income compared to the $21.4 million in the prior year quarter. Earnings in the quarter were impacted by a $15.7 million charge related to the Steve Austin movie which tanked big time in the box office. Total revenues totaled $137.5 million as compared to $119.3 million in the prior year quarter. Net income was $7.0 million as compared to $14.7 million in the prior year quarter. I really feel sorry for Vince McMahon. He only brings in 7.0 million. Poor guy.

----In the quarter earnings report released today, it was revealed that WrestleMania 23 did a total of 1,188,000 buys which is a record for any WWE event on pay-per-view. Last year's WrestleMania pulled in a total of 958,000 which was the highest at that time. WrestleMania 23 is the only wrestling event to top the 1 million buys. Buys for the past five PPVs were updated with Wrestlemania at 1,188,000; Backlash at 194,000; Judgment Day at 242,000; One Night Stand at 186,000 and Vengeance at 243,000. They were slightly down because of the big Mania number. Not including Mania, they were down 20% in buys over the same period last year.

----A second Congressional panel, this time the House Commerce, Trade and Consumer Protection Subcommittee has sent a letter asking WWE for all information about its steroid testing, and said it was also considering holding hears later this year on the subject of pro wrestling and performance enhancing drugs. As I said - IT IS NOT GOING AWAY!!

The Ratings - Memphis Wrestling 7.28.07 - Highest Rating of The Year!!

----Corey Maclin and company should be happy this week. Smiles all around. The Saturday show scored the highest rating of the year with a whopping 4.3 [71,353 viewers]. This is also the best rating since 11.11.06. The highest quarter was the third hitting a 4.6 [77,229 viewers]. The only low point of the show was in the 4th quarter dropping over 4,000 viewers, but that was much less than previous drops. The two best bouts of the show were seen by the most viewers in the 2cnd and 3rd quarters, so that is good. They have got to do something big for the 4th quarter to make viewers stay in their seats watching the show. Overall they did gain over 4,000 viewers from start to finish. It should also be noted that there was no Lawler and no Vicious on this show and it still scored the highest rating of the year. It will be interesting to see if the show takes a big drop in ratings next week, which is what the other big ratings shows have done this year.

Eyewitness News Video of Sal/Lawler

----CLICK HERE to watch the news video of the Sal/Lawler item. Lawler, who never said anything in court about going outside to get Sal, actually almost admits to going out in the parking lot after Sal. Lawler talks about the "cardinal rule" of not hitting fans. That is true, but if a fan hits you, then you have to do something - and I do not think Sal ever touch the fan. The only time that the fan is "fair game" is when they enter the ring and all bets are off. The ending of this case only surprised me because Lawler was actually NOT guilty. I thought he would go in and admit he hit Sal and then they would get him for assault. He would pay the fine and all would be over. But, since Sal did sign the waiver and the video does show him going over to take the punch, then the Judge had to rule in Lawler's favor. I said this from the first time I seen the video of the punch - if this is the video that the judge watches and it was, then Lawler is off the hook. I do believe Lawler hit Sal very hard, but by looking at the video, it looks like any other Lawler punch. That is what the Judge seen also and he also probably believed Lawler when Lawler said that sometimes people get hurt in this business, which is 100% true.

Hmm.....People question WWE's Steroid/Drug Policy by Gene Jackson

I think this picture alone is evidence enough that perhaps there are "flaws" in the WWE's Drug Testing/Steroid policy. You don't look like Lashley and Batista just by eating your Wheaties folks. Although saying your prayers and taking your vitamins on the other hand..........

Benoit Backlash

----I usually don't report things like this, but it ties into the Benoit coverage. The business will have to change before they get all the viewers back.

Raw bombs in the ratings
2.5 rating. Lowest in a decade. They were down 26% in viewers from last week, and last week's number was considered terrible.

B. Random Testing
With respect to all substances and drugs prohibited by this Policy except alcohol and marijuana, which will be tested only if reasonable cause exists to do so, WWE Talent will be subject to unannounced testing at any time, as determined by the PA. WWE may require Talent to submit to a test or tests, including, without limitation, urine, blood, saliva and/or hair in a random selection program. The random selection program conducted throughout the year will result in all Talent being tested on average four times and at least twice but may result in more frequent testing due to the random selection process. WWE Talent placed into the follow-up random testing program will be tested more frequently than four times per year.

C. Refusal To Test
A refusal to submit to a drug test by Talent shall be treated as a positive test for disciplinary and all other purposes pursuant to this Policy.

8. COLLECTION AND TRANSPORT OF SPECIMEN(S)
The Program Administrator will be in charge of collection of specimen(s) and they will carry out the following procedures:

10. TECHNOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF TESTING
The WWE designated testing facility will determine whether and in what amount a particular specimen tests positive with respect to a prohibited substance and whether the specimen has been adulterated or manipulated. The testing facility will transmit the results to the WWE PA. The PA shall promptly notify the Talent and the designated WWE representative whether or not the specimen(s) yielded a positive result for a prohibited drug and/or were adulterated or manipulated.

11. DEFINITION OF A POSITIVE TEST
(a) A positive test is one which confirms the presence of a prohibited drug or a metabolite of a prohibited drug.
(b) The initial test of Talent under this Policy shall be considered baseline testing and shall not, if positive, subject Talent to disciplinary action. Any subsequent positive test for non-medical use after the initial baseline test shall be treated as a positive test for disciplinary reasons if, in the opinion of the PA based on the evidence of testing and its interpretation of that evidence, the Talent has continued to use any such drugs.
(c) For testosterone, the following standards shall apply:
1. A Testosterone/Epitestosterone (T/E) ratio above ten (10) shall be conclusively regarded as a positive test result.
2. A Testosterone/Epitestosterone (T/E) ratio greater than four (4) but less than ten (10) shall require follow-up testing and/or medical evaluation to determine if the test shall be interpreted as positive for the active use of Testosterone or evidence of other steroids influencing the T/E ratio.
3. A Testosterone/Epitestosterone (T/E) ratio of four (4) or less shall be regarded as a negative test result.

12. PROCEDURE FOR A POSITIVE TEST
(1) The PA shall notify the Talent and the designated WWE representative of any positive test detected on the initial baseline test as defined in Section 11(b) of this Policy.
(2) After the initial baseline test, any and all subsequent positive tests for the non-medical use of drugs shall be subject to the penalties set forth herein.
(3) In the event that a Talent tests positive for a prescription drug, it shall be the responsibility of Talent to provide to the PA, within five (5) days of notification of a positive test, suitable proof that the drug in question has been taken pursuant to a valid prescription for a legitimate medical purpose given by a licensed and treating physician, and to provide copies of the prescription and the name, address and telephone number of the prescribing physician. The PA, as part of this Policy, shall have the consent of Talent to contact the prescribing physician to confirm that the prescription provided by Talent is valid and for a legitimate medical purpose. The failure to provide suitable proof shall be treated as a positive test. For purposes of this Policy, prescriptions obtained over the internet and/or from suppliers of prescription drugs from the internet shall NOT be considered valid and/or to have been given for a legitimate medical purpose. The Talent may be required to participate in follow-up testing to verify compliance with prescription medication use.
(4) Upon being notified by the PA that a Talent has tested positive for a drug prohibited by this Policy, the Talent shall have five (5) days to request a second opinion test be conducted. The second opinion test shall be conducted at the WWE designated testing facility using bottle “B” from the original collection. If the second opinion test fails to confirm the original test, then the test will be recorded as “negative” and there will be no penalty.

13. DISCIPLINE FOR VIOLATION OF LAW
Any Talent who is arrested, convicted or who admits to a violation of law relating to use, possession, purchase, sale or distribution of prohibited drugs will be in material breach of contract and subject to immediate dismissal.

14. PENALTIES FOR POSITIVE DRUG TESTS

Second Offense. In the event of a second positive result for drugs prohibited by this Policy, as amended from time to time, the Talent shall be suspended without pay for 60 days or, in cases where the Talent appears to be in need of a drug rehabilitation program, an indefinite suspension without pay until the individual has successfully completed the drug rehabilitation program.
Third Offense. In the event of a third positive result for drugs prohibited by this Policy, as amended from time to time, the Talent’s contract with WWE will be terminated.

15. APPLICABILITY OF THIS POLICY
This Policy, as it may be amended from time to time, is applicable to and binding upon all WWE Talent under contract to WWE who regularly perform in-ring services as a professional sports entertainer.

Credit: That was the full policy in writing, dated February 27, 2006. from http://www.wrestlingnewsdesk.com/ who stated that they are not aware of any changes or amendments to the policy as of this posting, but welcome WWE or their representatives to notify them of any amendments or change, and they will immediately the information here on our site and post an update on this page.

"The Big Cheese" Talks with rasslinriotonline.com

Jerry "the King" Lawler walked into the court room at 9:30 AM, only 30 minutes late – as they had already called courtroom attendance twice. He was wearing a Superman watch, which Sal Corrente said, “I found this very disturbing that he was wearing that watch because, Superman stands for truth, justice and the American way.”

Lawler had a laptop of the video of him hitting Corrente and said that is how he always hits people in the business. Lawler also made statements about Corrente inciting fans and showed the video of that. Lawler never responded to why he chased Sal in the parking lot.

Corrente felt that one of the problems was the way he filled out the warrant, which did not include info about the later parking lot incident. And, because it showed evidence on the video that he walked over to Lawler to get hit. Corrente had also signed a release form at the Fed Ex Forum show, which I guess pretty much covered Memphis Wrestling’s butt if anything like this happened. Lawler told the judge during the proceedings that 90% of wrestling is not planned. Lawler also made comments about how hard Booker T had hit him Monday night.

Lawler admitted that he was part owner of Memphis Wrestling with Corey Maclin. Strange that Maclin didn’t even show up to show support of Lawler?? Lawler may have requested that though.

Corrente also stated to rasslinriotonline.com that if they would have got their request for a continuance that he would have called as witnesses Koko Ware, Corey Maclin, Sam’s Town employees and The Assassins. Since this is the end of the criminal charges, his only route would be a civil suit and he would not comment on whether that was planned or not.

THE KING NOT GUILTY!!

----Jerry "The King" Lawler is NOT GUILTY stemming from Sam's Town Casino incident during a Memphis Wrestling Show on June 15th, 2007, in which he was accused of "shooting" on Corrente and Corrente filed assault charges. Apparently Sal Corrente wanted an continuance of the case, but the court wouldn't allow it. Corrente is able to appeal the decision if he wants. Media was all over the place and Sal had "no comment" for them.

----Sal Corrente will make an appearance on the Bubba The Love Sponge radio show at 3:45 central time LIVE, not a taping as I reported yesterday.

RasslePod - Special Wednesday Edition!!

----Thanks to all that listened yesterday. I had a lot of downloads, but would have probably had more. LOL Some people complained about not being able to listen to it in the current browser and someone said they liked it the old way, so I am putting it back on the RasslePod page. You can access them all from that page. Today's edition features an interview I did with Void last night. It runs about 26 minutes and hope everyone enjoys. Is it just me or does Void sound like "Stone Cold"??

PacMan Will He or Will He Not??

----This story is so fun. Idiot promotion using an idiot. I love the comments about "He's looking for a number of things obviously to occupy his time." In other words, he should have said, "I am trying to keep him out of strip clubs and keep a gun out of his hand."

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Adam "Pacman" Jones won't be wrestling for TNA Entertainment during his season-long suspension from the NFL.
But the Tennessee Titans cornerback may participate with TNA Wrestling in other ways, according to his agent.

The contract hasn't been signed yet, and TNA declined to comment Tuesday except to say an announcement is expected by the end of the week.

Agent Michael Huyghue said he is mindful that Jones' NFL contract prohibits non-football activities that could cause injury. He said they have talked with the Titans about Jones' plans with TNA.

"I think the club wants to see him do something, obviously, while we've got this time off before we report back," Huyghue said. "His intent is only to make appearances and do things and not get into any kind of physical activity that's going to jeopardize his health.

"He's looking for a number of things obviously to occupy his time."
Jones' attorney Worrick Robinson said TNA first approached Jones weeks ago and talks resumed in the past few days.

"Anyone who has seen wrestling knows there are other opportunities to be involved," Robinson said.

Huyghue said Jones' first appearance with TNA could come the weekend his teammates start their preseason schedule. The Titans' first exhibition game is against Washington on Aug. 11.

Jones was suspended for the 2007 season in April for conduct detrimental to the NFL, and he can have his case reviewed after the Titans' 10th game, which is Nov. 19 at Denver.

He has been arrested six times since being drafted by the Titans in April 2005, including June 22 when he turned himself in on two felony counts of coercion in a Las Vegas strip club fight that left a man paralyzed.
Last week, the league denied Jones' bid to attend training camp.

When he was suspended, Jones was given several requirements to meet, including devising a community service program that must be approved by the NFL. The league declined to comment Tuesday on whether Jones has come up with such a plan or if it had been approved.

His agent is checking with the registrar at West Virginia University to see if Jones can take courses toward his degree online because he plans to stay in the Jacksonville, Fla., area and work out during his suspension.

Jones won't start losing his $1.3 million salary until the first game checks are issued in September.

"The fine was a significant penalty, unprecedented in the league," Huyghue said. "I'm sure he's mindful of the fact that's a significant amount of money."

Greatest Worker of All Time?? by Gene Jackson

There is a lot of talk amongst wrestling fans on message boards, chat rooms, at shows, and fanfests etc on who the "greatest worker of all time" is. I personally have an opinion on that and I'm not sure it's one everyone will agree with but I will explain my reasoning behind. When you ask the question "who is the greatest worker (note I said WORKER, not WRESTLER) of all time is" you get a variety of answers. Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Kurt Angle, HBK, Triple H, Harley Race, Dusty Rhodes, and etc but I personally think that it's someone who gets talked about a lot on this site and that's Jerry "the King" Lawler.

Now again, I didn't say greatest WRESTLER, nor did I say greatest PERFORMER and if you know the definition of that term then you will see my point. Sure, there is a case to be made for Hogan, but look at the circumstances in Hogan's case. No, not just anyone could have filled that spot but you've got an "enhanced" muscle bound guy with a huge promotional machine behind him that helped launch him and the entire WWF/E into what it is today and that is impressive but again it was the whole package, he needed Vince's push and Vince needed him to push.

Now look at Jerry Lawler, here's a guy who is just an average guy. He's not huge and muscled, he's not a "star" athelete, he's a guy who went to Memphis State on an art scholarship but he turned himself into a box office star wrestler on top for 30 years in Memphis. Who else can make that claim? Did he own part of the company? Yes. Did he push himself? Yes. Did he put himself over on every major star in the business in the 80's and 90's? Yes. Did people pack out the Coliseum weekly for years to see it? YES! That's the difference, promoters and bookers pushing themselves is nothing new, it's always been that way and always will be, but the man was over like no one else in Memphis and is to this day. So again, why? With his size and average in-ring skills (other people's words, not mine) Lawler probably would have never gotten past the mid card working strictly for other people in other places. So how did he get over besides "pushing himself"? Well for one the guy is one of the best promo men in the business......bar none. Jerry Lawler could go out on tv and turn himself face to heel and back again twice in one promo if he wanted to. But part of that being a good talker was that he was the hometown hero, he was like the home team, a victory for Lawler wasn't just a victory for the King, it was a victory for Memphis. If Lawler was going for the World title against Nick Bockwinkle, to the fans it was like having their local football team in the championship game, he was in there representing his hometown and the fans of Memphis.

Again, fans could rally behind him cause this wasn't some larger than life cartoon character like Hulk Hogan, this was a guy just like them, hell he could be their neighbor, plus he could sell his ass off. So when he was getting his ass whipped it was believable, but when he pulled that strap down and made his comeback the people were solidly behind him cause he was in there fighting for all of them and they wanted to see him win, not like now where all the "smart marks" are going "yeah he's putting himself over again". Other wrestlers have had great runs for short periods of time but who else can you name that stayed on top in one territory for as long as Lawler did with the success he had and money he drew. That coupled with the fact that Lawler could make you believe anything he told you, like Brian and I discussed on the podcast. There are people (my father included) who believed for years and years that "yeah wrestling is fake, but the stuff with Kaufman was real" because Lawler is a great WORKER. Which makes things like the recent stuff with Sal Corrente all the more difficult to sort out cause you never really now for sure with Lawler if he's on the level. A lot of people dislike and maybe they have good reason, but I do think you have to give the guy his due, even if you don't think he's the best, he has to rank pretty high up there. Again, this is just my opinion and I would love to hear other people's opinion on who the "greatest worker of all time" is and why or just your two cents on what I've said here on the message board.

RassleBits: Naturals, Jimmy Hart and Sal Corrente

----The Naturals will be getting a WWE tryout on the 9/17 Raw taping in Nashville. I also look for some of the Memphis area guys to be there also.

----Jimmy Hart, who never publicly says anything negative about anyone, ripped into TNA for signing Pacman Jones in the Orlando Sentinel this morning. "Are you freakin' kidding me? Oh, my. It's over. Not Pacman Jones. They're desperate man. They've lost their minds. After what's happened to Vince (recent media pub) and stuff, why? I have to agree with Hart on this one - why would TNA use this thug??

----"Big Cheese" Sal Corrente will be taping the Bubba the Love Sponge radio show tomorrow after that airs Thursday morning.

MAW - Memphis Top 10 Tournament

----MAW announced today that on August 19th, 2007 at 5:00 PM MAW Presents the first ever Memphis 10 Tournament. The first three names announced in the tournament are Marcus O'Neil, Reno Diamond and Austin Lane. This will surely cause some controversy just by the guys that get into the tournament, because others will feel like they deserve the spot. RRO Yearbook ranked the Top 10 workers in this area by votes that were given to them in the "Best Wrestler" and "Best Damn Performer" categories. As you can see, two of the guys on their list were listed on this site. I will be posting the question on the message board in the next few minutes and would appreciate everyone posting their thoughts. MAW also will be releasing a few names every week and we should have the update on the tourny every week. Or you can always go to their website or myspace.com page.

Mr. Hughes Story

----I was watching the “Extreme Summit” DVD today and they had a funny story about Mr. Hughes. During one night during the early days of ECW, Paul Heyman was trying to push Tazz and told Hughes he was doing a job for him. Hughes responded by saying, “I can’t do that, I beat Lex Luger.” LOL One of the boys then asked him, “do you know this is not real – you didn’t beat anyone.” LOL Loved that!! If you want watch a crazy DVD, check it out!!

Dale Walker Doing Good

"I just want to thank everyone for their prayers because my father recieved his liver transplant today and as of right now he is doing ok. He is still in ICU, but that is normal. I just wanted to thank everyone for there prayers."

----Alan Walker sent the above yesterday on yahoo IM. I am glad to hear that Mr. Walker is doing good and all of us here at RRO wish him a fast and full recovery.

Memphis Wrestling Workers DID Get PAID!!

----It has been reported on other sites that Memphis Wrestling workers did not get paid for the AutoZone Park show on Saturday. Well, that is false. They did not get paid Saturday, but were PAID for the show. Apparently some of the guys confronted Maclin telling him that they had other shows they could be paid on working on Saturday night and believed they deserved paid. Maclin agreed and ending up calling a lot of the boys apologizing. They were ask if they wanted their check mailed or wanted to come by the offices [Corey Maclin & Associates] to pick them up. So, kudos to Maclin for doing the right thing. And, Corey says I always talk bad about him?? LOL

OMG!! BAD TIMING!!

--In the worst timing possible award for today, Sunday night, on WWE 24/7's Legends show, the topic was backstage heat. Jerry Lawler was a guest and they brought up his breaking Paul Heyman's jaw with a punch in the 80s. They asked him if he did it on purpose. He said yes, and said he even waited two nights to do it so it wouldn't be obvious.

----I was actually at that show when it happened and Lawler said to me, "I just broke that prick's jaw!"

RassleResults: Big Time Wrestling Chillicothe, OH 7.28.07

----This is the kind of "extra" stuff I will be posting also, even though it is not results from the states I talked about in the earlier post. It features some familiar names and a few Memphis legends.

Killer Kent II defeated Brad Thomas (feet on ropes)...The Sheik of Arabby (with the Great Mephisto) defeated Robby Starr via wrench to the back of the head behind the refs back...Lexi Lane and Matt Mason beat Neveah and Handsome Beau James spectacular ending with Lexi hitting a flatliner on Neveah...Sharkboy defeated Metal Master with Sharkboy’s flipping stunner maneuver off the top...Fantastic Bobby Fulton defeated Beautiful Bobby Eaton with a sunset flip in he corner...Jake the Snake Roberts beat Crazy Stomper with his patented DDT

----Show drew around 350 with a gate close to $4,400...Next card is this Thursday Aug 2 Gallia County Fair - Gallopolis Ohio featuring Buff Bagwell, Ricky Morton, Bobby Fulton, Beau James, Bobby Eaton, The Stomper, Girls and more...I believe these are Fulton booked shows and he is also working under the hood as the Sheik.

RassleResults: LAW Rector, AR 7.27.07

----Lil' Tim Alfonso over Gryffon X…Arnez over Rockin' Randy…10 Minute Challenge: Slim "The Bulldog" Pickens lasted the Ten Minutes with Greg Anthony earning himself a title shot next week and winning a FREE SHOW for the fans of Rector next week!!...Idol Bane/Scott Graham retained Tag Team Titles against Simon Reed & Stan Lee…Tommy Redneck over "Trendsetter" Jon Michael if Tommy lost, Trendsetter got Redneck's grandfather's lighter but if Jon lost he has to wrestle in a DRESS!

---- The Golden Boy had an acceptance speech at the start of the show after winning the belt…30 or so in the crowd with a gate close to $200…The show is free admission this coming Friday, but I don’t look for a big crowd. The ASWF Whitney Whelchel Benefit will be promoted big time on the radio in the Rector area and will be hard to compete with, even being free. Paragould is only 30 minutes from Rector and the last WW benefit drew over 1,000 people in the building. I wouldn’t have run a show this week…What is the deal with having to wear a dress as a stip?? I have always hated that stip, but if I remember correctly even used it once on Rod Dent III. Why do people find this so funny??

RassleResults: ASWF Tuckerman, AR 7.28.07

Boogie Kid beat Bubba “The Pitbull” Studley by DQ…. Crazed Country Rebels [Cody Murduch/Wild Bill] beat X-Kalibur in a handicap match…ASWF Scott Fury beat Cody Daniels

Fury did a promo on Jake Roberts and the eerie music played again and Cujo made an appearance – Fury ran off. The whole crowd was barking.

X Title Match: - Title Held up – Reno Diamond vs Marcus O’Neil vs Blalock the Blazer ended when all three guys were pinned with all three guys entangled after a German suplex and fisherman suplex.

Leprechauns came out and someone had sent them some flowers. They were both arguing saying they were for each of them. So, they decided to have a match to decide who the flowers were for…The match was stopped in the middle when all the refs, Michael Ward and everyone was called to the back. Ward stopped the show and apologized to say that they had two guys in the back and they needed to have a match right now!! Out of the curtain came Austin Lane vs Brandon Baxter. They had a big brawl ending up in a pull a part. “Last Man Standing” match was signed for this Friday in Paragould, AR. Baxter and Lane bumped all the refs and Lane ended up going thru a table.

Main Event
Death Match: Justin “The Juice” Smart beat “LSD” [Deadly Dale/Idol Bane] by DQ. There were no refs left to use for this bout, so Nikki Lane came to ringside to ref. Also, since Austin Lane & Baxter were thrown out of the building, then Smart had to defend the tag belts alone. LSD bumped Nikki, so she DQ’ed them after a Dusty finish of LSD winning the belts. No matter that it was a DEATH match they still got DQ’ed because they are trying to give over the fact that you can’t bump a ref.

----Next week in Tuckerman, they will have two rings, which I am not sure how many matches will feature a gimmick with the rings, but the X-Title will be a Double Ring Triple Threat Iron Man Match…Lepuchans are scheduled vs “Treat Connection” [Loose Cannon/San Francisco Treat] in Paragould, AR Friday night and it will probably be revealed that Treat sent the flowers. Also on the Whitney Whelchel Benefit show is Baxter vs Lane, Acid vs Kamala, Fury vs Jake Roberts and more…I know they were trying get over the ref bump thing – but damn let LSD win the belts in a handicap match!! Dusty finishes hurt more than they help…I was told that Cujo is over big time with the fans in this area. Even though he does the barking, he is not doing the Moondog gimmick – he is doing Cujo – as in the dog from the movie. I guess..LOL

RassleResults: Memphis Wrestling Autozone Park Memphis, TN 7.28.07 - TV SPOILERS!!

A Little Rain Won't Ruin The Night For The Stars Of Memphis Wrestling At AutoZone Park!!!

After sitting through 9 innings of Memphis Redbirds Baseball it was finally time for the Superstars of Memphis Wrestling to take the field for battle. Just as the ring was ready for action “mother nature” had other plans, the show started with Corey Maclin talking about the matches that was going to take place during the evening. Jerry "The King" Lawler with Queen Renee & Princess Leslie made their way to the announcers table for an interview. Lawler told the crowd that he was tired of being jumped by friends of Sid Vicious and that tonight during his match with Johnny Rotten that he would have some people to watch his back. Lawler introduced Redbird players Rick Ankiel and Tagg Bozied and Redbird hitting coach Rick Eckstein fully equipped with baseball bats. Lawler stated to these guys to take any means necessary if anyone tried to interfere with his match later on in the evening.

Match # 1
Derrick King & Shawn Shultz def. Tatt2 & Johnny Dotson ...... Not much to talk about on this match, I will give these guys credit they put on a decent match with all the rain that was falling during this time.

Interview.... Mr. Hughes
This was the same old interview blah, blah, blah!

Match # 2
Mr. Hughes def. Dustin Starr....Dustin Starr is starting to settle in I think and looked pretty good against a veteran like Mr. Hughes.

Match # 3
Kevin White def. Spellbinder....These too have some good chemistry working each other. Spellbinder came out and dazzled the large crowd with the flame ball that he shot out of the skull head and then shot the fire balls from his hands. Kevin White used a chain time after time to finally get the win over Spellbinder.

Interview...Too Cool 2
Tim and Flex get better week after week on the mic. They are really working the crowds good. Tim called the Redbird players a bunch of "Wannabees" that they will never be like the real champs in St. Louis. News Flash.....Tim, the Redbirds are associated with the champs. LOL!!! Anyways a lot of heat on the Southern Tag-Team Champs.

Match # 4
Koko B. Ware & Kid Kash w/Rocky the Redbird and Family def. Too Cool 2 via DQ......The rain was letting up during this match and the guys were able to move a little better around the ring than the previous wrestlers were. The mascots harassed Tim and Flex the entire match. The ending had Tim sliding the tag belt in but it was caught by Kid Kash and he in turned used it to hit Flex. While the referee was counting Tim jumped and hit Kash with the other belt to get the DQ to keep the belts..........After match, as the champs were making their way back to the locker room they stopped to show off to the crowd. The mascots got into the ring and Kid Kash and Koko went out and got Too Cool 2 and throwed them back into the ring. The Redbird Family poured feathers on Tim and Flex to get a huge pop from the crowd.

Interview...Johnny Rotten

Match # 5
Jerry Lawler def. Johnny Rotten.....Rotten had the match in hand most of the way until Lawler did his famous "pulling down the strap" and took over the match immediately. As Lawler was getting the best of Johnny Rotten out came Mr. Hughes to interfere but was cut off by the Redbirds players and coach. Johnny Rotten pulls out a chain and hits Lawler. As Rotten is celebrating Redbirds coach Rick Eckstein (brother of STL. Cardinal's player David Eckstein) climbs to the top rope and does a flying body splash on Rotten to knock him off his feet and then the King rolls up Rotten for the win.

Overall Opinion of the Show!!!!!
I think that Memphis Wrestling did a great job of putting on a good show under the weather conditions that they had to wrestle in. If they use the same footage on TV next week that they showed on the stadium jumbotron then everyone will really enjoy it. According to the Redbirds website, they gave an attendance of 12,222 for the game. I would have to say that about 3,500 or more stayed to watch the matches even in the rain. Please everyone remember when they watch this show next week that the stands look empty but most of the people had moved from their seats to shelter from the rain. This show is without a doubt the largest crowd for them since the HOGAN/WIGHT show at the FEDEXFORUM. I have to give the Redbirds staff credit for helping the crew from MW assemble the ring and for keeping the fans entertained while waiting. So in closing Corey Maclin and gang successfully put on another winner last night at AutoZone Park. Many fans that I spoke with after the show stated that they hoped this could be an annual event at the Ol' ballpark.

Overall Grade: To keep this in with the moment, Memphis Wrestling really "PITCHED" a gem and if their are any doubters of can they rise to the occasion when put on a big stage, then the answer would have to be "YES", a "HOMERUN". To all the fans enjoy the show!!
