Around 120 attended the second Friday TV tapings. The arena has a familiar ring in it (the one that had been at the Stadium Inn). They have 2 hard cameras and a third handheld running. As usual, they will be taping 2 episodes tonight. Absentees include Commissioner Freddie Morton, AM Vision, & Shawn Shultz (which is explained shortly).
Jack Johnson and Hot Rod Biggs do commentary.
Kurt Herron and "Nashville's favorite ref" Ricky Bell are the referees for this evening.
Show #1
Arrick Andrews b Jerry Lynn
(Lynn double shotted, working at USWO)
Mason Raige b "The Graduate" Jason James
Mike Sircy comes out to the desk holding the SAW TV title. He basically says Shultz' behavior is unfitting for a champion, then reads a statement from the board of directors echoing the sentiment, saying they don't want Shultz representing the company and are stripping him of the TV title.
TJ Harley b Nore Havoc (w/ "Towel Boy" Paul Adams)
Hammerjack (w/Charming Charles) b Lennox Lightfoot
JJ is joined by Homicidal Tendencies (Kory Williams & Vic the Bruiser), who are not only the SAW tag champs, but the NWA Southern tag champs as well. Champs out all dressed up, as KW says that this is what true champs should look like. VB not pleased with JJ's "stupid questions", noting that the Naturals are gone. KW says they will hold their titles by whatever means necessary.
Arrick Andrews b Sean Casey (w/Samantha!)
Finish here was when Casey full nelsons Andrews, then Samantha gets up on the apron to spray him but he ducks and Casey gets it.
End Show #1. I will say the tapings moved along rather well tonight, both episodes taking around 70 minutes each.
During intermission, Biggs went outside followed by a camera followed by Hammerjack & Charming Charles.
Show #2
Damien Adams b TJ Harley
Mike Sircy back out to tell us that 8 names have been chosen for a TV title tournament (which will be taped on 11/16).
Sean Casey and Samantha! come back out. SC has sunglasses and a cane because he was blinded by the hairspray and joins Johnson at the desk to call the next match which was pretty funny.
Mason Raige b Nore Havoc (w/"Towel Boy" Paul Adams)
Casey calls the action, but it's all wrong! Raige wins with a powerslam in 6:00 though that wasn't the way SC called it, lol.
Lennox Lightfoot b Tatsu
Kory Williams & Vic the Bruiser b Chris Bomb & Ricky Fontaine
Johnson intros Jimmy Valiant and gets a kiss! JV has one reason for being here, to watch Gary Valiant's back. JV notes he started wrestling in 1964, has had 10,000 matches, and driven 4 million miles to those matches. Hammerjack & Charming Charles interrupt this, with CC saying nobody cares about what JV does. HJ says JV will soon join GV in the hospital! JV challenges CC to get in the ring.
JV in the ring, CC and HJ circle on opposite sides with one trying to sneak up while the other distracts JV. CC finally gets in and draws back but JV turns around and CC backs off, then JV immediately turns around and pops HJ, who was sneaking up from behind. CC grabs his cane and whacks JV in the knee, then grabs the hammer and chokes JV while HJ grabs a chair. Gary Valiant (in a neck brace) runs out to save to a huge pop! The Valiants pinball HJ as CC bails. Valiants dance and celebrate with the fans as Show #2 ends
Next Friday: a regular SAW show
Friday 11/16: Next SAW TV taping
NOTES: I was told that Shultz went back to work for Bert Prentice, which to me is not a big shock. Raige could be from OVW since I think he came down with Lightfoot & D. Adams, as could Fountain.
