USWA: The big news was that Jerry Jarrett sold his 50% of the company to Jerry Lawler, so Lawler now owned 100% of the promotion. Lawler was now running the business end of the promotion with Larry Burton, who was now general manager, and Elliot Pollock, who was the on-screen commissioner. On the weekend tv show, Del Rios (the Spellbinder) returned and joined the Nation of Domination, under his new ring name, Elijah. They were building up a Mo vs Mabel feud. Meltzer wrote, “Mo did an interview saying that he taught Mabel everything he knows, which is nothing I’d be bragging about.”
